Fantasy The War (Players Needed)

"Faolin, I appreciate your concern. Now, as the queen required, i must ask you to leave us alone. Take care of the soldiers for me, please." He said as he dismissed Faolin. Turning his full attention to Bellatrix again, he sighed. "Forgive Faolin. He's a loyal subject, but prone to speak his mind even if it's not wanted." He took a deep breath, then grabbed a map of the area surrounding Mt. Joelark. "Here, all areas marked are available." He finished his cup of coffee, placing them on the table. He sat on the chair closest to Bellatrix, then smiled. "I trust your judgment, my queen. You lived far longer than I did, and amassed much more knowledge than I have. I entrust that you'll hand down judgement fair in your kingdom, and such, I won't interfere. As for myself, as long as the fires in Mt. Joelark burns, I'm immortal as well. I'm still young, and I only hope to have as much power as you do. I believe this arrangement will be perfect for both kingdoms. Now, what would you like in exchange for your manpower?"

Silently Faolin looked at his King. He bowed to them both then left. When he exited the room he closed it. He leaned against it silently. Why had he said that? Who knew. Well time to take care of the soldiers. He checked them to make sure they were okay and what they needed. No complaints surprisingly however the good looking women could have to do with this. Faolin chuckled. He was still young he had never found his dutchess bit to say he wasn't looking would be a mistake. He was always looking.

As the wine was delivered to Bellatrix by a shadow and placed on the table, she grabbed it up and took a rather large sip before placing the wine goblet back down and looking to the map. "Well. You'd be right about me being old. I am very old." She chuckled lightly, feeling much better after the sip and peace settling into the room. "I have no problem sending out the man power you request. Since you request undead, they will work diligently and without hesitation. as well as they will not fatigue. How many do you require? All I ask is that your forges be available to us as well. Also I ask that you outfit my army. Here we may be rich in black market trade and so on, but we lack in true forge still. Hellfire, though it may burn hot..is not enough for proficient weaponry or armor. In fact it's nothing compared to the forges you harbor. In return I can give you access to many of our herbs and poisons since it is always dark here somethings tend to only grow here as opposed to other regions. Unless you'd rather have something else?" She asked him as her eyes looked into his.

Aermik sighed sitting down. "We're in a unique position. I doubt you understand since you're so young, so I'll spell it out for you. We are in the best position to help everyone due to our military and our knowledge of the so called 'Dark' arts. As such if given the land we could solve the problems other kingdoms are facing. Or rather, we could get them to cooperate and have them solve their own problems while we profit off of it and may continue our research. As such it's imperative that this goes well."

Listened to the merchant and the queen talking. He wondered what the woman needed with a dragon's heart? Zellarous kept a close eye on the public. They seemed to be staring at her, some in hatred, some in lust. One man got too close, though he may have not had any ill intent. Regardless Zelarous swiftly grabbed the man by the throat and threw him to the ground. The man looked at him with wide eyes "Z...Zelarous, the devourer of souls..." the frightened commoner muttered before shuffling back to the rest of the crowd away from them. He paid no mind to the man's comment, it was a name he had been given by those among him. Though Zelarous didn't call himself with such a title, it was a rather accurate one. "I am sorry about that." he said turning to the queen.
@sprouhtt
"It seems like you are very well known here," Thalia told him as she saw that a man got to close to her and Zelarous acted quickly by taking the man by the throat and throwing him to the ground. Thalia saw the fear in the mans eyes, was he really that scary? Thalia thought to herself. Thalia began talking to the merchant trying to negotiate a price for the dragons heart since it was the last one. Thalia didn't care much about money since she had plenty but the merchant didn't seem to want money for this dragons heart. He wanted something that was very sentimental to her. Thalia took out a bracelet that had two charms on it she has had for quite sometime now, it holds sentimental feelings because many years ago her first lover gave it to her as a gift of remembrance. Since he died in war she has never gone anywhere without the charm. She hesitantly took the bracelet off and handed it to the merchant and the merchant gave her the dragons heart sealed off in a beautiful detailed box with the colors gold and dark red. It was tough for Thalia to hand it off to him but she knew that she had to let go and move on, knowing that he would never come back to life and meet with her. Maybe in another life time she will see him. Thalia turned to Zelarous,"I am finished here, we can head back now." Thalia said.

Time... time... she needed more time. Surely only a few weeks wasn't enough time to acquire a Dragon's heart, of all things. Elsbeth had picked up an odd job back in the Air's Remnants, her cilent an unusual merchant who seemed to recall the dunes better than she ever could. With her interest in this person, came this journey out of her usual pace. The black market bustled with business, and the alleyways bolstered with bastards. The ill-intended nature of those around her was nothing out of the ordinary, but the crowdness certainly was. Like it was an axiom, it was your job to set an impression, for intimidation's sake. Every once in a while you'd get someone who would test their luck against the odds, thinking they unlike many others can come out on top. Usually, they fell the fastest - not to say some didn't get the best of her at times.

However, when she was on the edge of frustration after hours of no results, a new acquisition had took her eye. In fact, it had took quite a few people's eyes in the roaring crowd as a slam rung throughout the market. It was a woman, of fine stature, guarded by a rather dark-clothed individual. She had an air of royalty to her rhythm, and from her clothing she seemed to reside from the Plant Kingdom. But why would Plant Kingdom royalty be turning to the black market? Was there something that was rare enough, that even they had to come here? ...Elsbeth had a nagging feeling in the back of her mind, but she put it to rest for the time being. Circling around the two through the crowd slowly, her desire to learn more swayed her from her original task, as she slowly, but yet swiftly, approached with discretion.

The painful days of walking by himself through the dense trees, violent waters, dusty winds and the biting cold are still haunting his mind. It would seem like a good time for him to learn the art of horseriding, being robbed and running away from brigands who attacked his ride wasn't really a pleasant experience. Of course there are some thoughts of ending his life earlier or perhaps asking for someone else to take him back, but those decisions he found aren't beneficial for him, more robbers might lurk and ending his life just isn't helping him realize his dream. Different from the other day he just chose a place to rest and until now he still smelled the booze, dirty stale bread and raggedy people inside this tavern. Perhaps it's a mistake coming to a black market bar? As he raised from his seat and about to leave a stiff hand reached for his back. A snarky grin appeared on his face.

"Ah well there's a lot of coins in the black mart right? Maybe you can trade in some for the glasses here?"

The comment was accompanied by a simple smile. Relaxed from his heavy amount of drinking he's just happy and happy. Insulted by such a behavior the barman delivered such a strong punch knocking him right outside the tavern's door colliding with some of the people in the alleyway before forming a falling domino like effect. Together with some of the black market's inhabitants they collapsed, the punch's effect was quite hard that it actually snaps some senses back to him. Feeling some of his strength returning he takes a few steps back and stumbled to the edge of one of the walls behind him, the barman was quite the fighter and he would definitely not let a customer leave without paying. Still slightly dazed from the punch he just stood there, the cheering crowds certainly didn't help him concentrate. There he waited for the man's next move.

Tina nodded. "But... But... I am scared of the peace.", she then muttered and wrapped her arms around Aermik. She hugged him, embracing him tightly. "Who needs a spy if there is peace? I am useless then... and what is useless, is thrown away.", she said and started to cry.

"I think i have a better opinion. Although your offer is tempting, I'm afraid it holds no... Strategic value for my kingdom." he said, while crossing his arms. "You see, poisons aren't well seen in Orbis, as our culture is focused on combat and honor, and things such as subterfuge and stealth hold no place in our kingdom. No offense." He made sure to point. "Since the Duke of Hearthfire plotted and killed King Lionheart, I've been maintaining a culture focused on strengthening our bonds, to make a kingdom where one can take care of the other, since the assassination wounded deeply the popular view of the kingdom. The Primordial Fire chose me as the next king, and although no one contested, they were sure displeased by the fact that a former commoner, in the time General of the army, rose to power. But what I built succeeded in expectations, and now everyone is accepting my methods. So you must see that I can't employ the use of poisons in my army. It would ruin the image I built for 10 years.” He pointed at one of the circled areas in the map, a rather large area in the middle of the map, South of the Blazing Citadel, core of Orbis. “However, I think that a market would help both parties. Your Black Market is sought after from every part of the world, people from every kingdom come here to seek your famed herbs. But a lot of people still holds prejudice against this place, and because of that, the full potential of the market is still untapped. Having an ‘outpost’ in Orbis would benefit your market greatly, and offer a place for you to build even an embassy.” He took a deep breath, pleased.”Something that has been interesting me for a good while is the magic that flows in your kingdom. My people is prized by the physical strength, but we are weak in terms of magic. I'm asking you to share your knowledge in magic to our people.” He collected his thoughts. “So the offer is as follows: The Dark Kingdom will offer the manpower necessary to increase three times the efficiency of the Lava Forges, in exchange, Orbis will craft the equipment the Dark Army needs, of the highest quality, of course. Orbis will open borders for the Dark Kingdom for the construction of a Market and an Embassy, in exchange, The Dark Kingdom will pay a small tribute, only formalities, and share some of the magical knowledge for the scholars of Orbis. These are the offers currently on the table. What do you think?

Zelarous was about to take the queen of plants back to the room where the one true queen was staying. Out of the corner of his eye he noticed someone approaching them. Zelarous let out a small sigh. Why did these common people keep coming towards the queen. It was time to make a statement, so the rest of the population would stay in line, apparently throwing the man (earlier) by the throat wasn't enough to deter them. Zelarous slowly unsheathed the black katana that had been on his hip. He did not swing it, in fact, he never even used it. He was just using it as a deterrent for now. "Woman...' he said as he turned to Elsbeth. Unlike he had thought she didn't seem like a commoner, she certainly wasn't dressed like one. That was beside the point, perhaps it was a soldier of the fire nation. "Keep your distance, I am tasked with guarding this woman, a direct order from queen Bellatrix herself." he eyed the woman with a piercing gaze. Who was she?

@Pandorian @sprouhtt

Elsbeth almost scoffed at the individual's words. If anything, she was keeping her distance quite exceptionally. Shame was, as the individual unsheathed his blade, the crowd around him began to scatter outwards. A few seconds later, and she was in easy view for the two. In defense, she pulled one of the large blades (their weight lighter than the average greatsword despite their size) off her back, placing it firmly in the soft ground in front of her. Leaning on the guard of the blade, she replied to the man's warning with an aptitude for deflecting threats; "...Well trained eye, I see. I bet you've practically eyed me from the head downwards in the time it took for you to notice me.". Analyzing his choice of words further, she continued on, "You're probably one of the Dark Kingdom's servants, I presume? You're here on her orders only then, if that's the case. I doubt one of her servants would be doing escorts for royalty, or at least, doing it on their own terms.".

She left her thoughts in the air, making sure to empathize certain words as to attract the... less civilized of the market's society. Not a reliable tactic, but it was certainly one that would put on the pressure at least. Sharing the man's piercing gaze, a smirk lit up on her face, eyeing the woman behind him for any sudden movements. There was no telling if the woman could be dangerous herself, after all. Even the bodyguard might just be for formalities. But the thoughts in her mind was cut short, as her gaze awaited the duo's next course of action - though the silence, as momentary as it might of been, only added to the thick air that surrounded them.

@Zelarous @sprouhtt

Zelarous blankly stared at the woman, watching as she wielded a rather large sword. "I am a knight of this kingdom..." he answered the woman "...and who might you be?" he watched her movements very carefully. 'On her orders only' the words rang in his head. "Queen Bellatrix' word is law." Zelarous replied, there was no higher authority to him. The fact that she would take such a thing so lightly bewildered him. If you come no closer, and sheath your weapon, I don't seem any reason to harm you." he would rather not make a scene. The only reason being that his queen would probably not appreciate such a spectacle on a day with so many royal acquaintances visiting her. In any other situation, namely outside the castle where the queen would not see nor hear it, he would of already attempted to dispatch the woman before him.

Well, it was time to introduce herself. She bowed in front of him, as if trying to push the 'come no closer' clause to its' limits. "Elsbeth. Though I'd say it's quite rude to ask someone's name without giving your own..". She released herself from the strain of the bow and leaned on her blade's hilt once more. With vigor, she stated, "...though, I'm usually called the Queen Of The Sun-Scorched Sands. At least, that's what the bandits stupid enough to hold onto such a high-stated name call me. Such a name doesn't suit me, but it is a pleasure to be an acquaintance, pawn of Bellatrix.", with a nod to further put the new nickname across. "From what I'm hearing, I've done no wrong as of yet. You are to protect your... client at all costs, and so, as long as I do no harm to her, I'm about as innocent as the wiltering flower underneath the sun-baked tree.". With a heft to her words, she took a step forward, planting both blades into the ground behind her as she uttered the words that she felt formed the final thorn, "As you said, your Queen's words are law. Yours... are not.".

Zelarous listened to Elsbeth's multiple insults. It was as if she were trying to coerce him into making a move. "Queen of the sun scorched lands..." he muttered "..I have never heard of such a queen.." he continued to ponder. He had no idea that it was simply a title. He wondered if the woman was of royalty. Though it did not matter to him, he had never heard of such a kingdom, nor did he know of any peace between them. "You are correct, I am simply one of her pawns in this game we all play, but do not misunderstand. Her word may be law to me, but my words are law to them.." he pointed to the crowd of citizens of the kingdom "...and law to you". He had no problem saying this, though it was very arrogant. He believed he could do what he wished with those around him. "I would suggest taking your leave." he could feel a rage beginning to burn inside him. Had the woman kept her mouth shut, this situation would had been simple.

@sprouhtt @Pandorian

Thalia watched as they bickered on and on about the law, Thalia let out a sigh and she walked past Zelarous as she stood in front of him facing the Queen of the sun scorched lands. "Enough both of you," Thalia spoke so softly and calmly. Thalia hated when people argued for such some reason, it was as if they had nothing better to do with their life since there is a war upcoming. Thalia walked around the queen slowly, observing her body language as she did so. Thalia thought that the queen was probably here to form an alliance with the Queen of the Dark kingdom. "I know I have no business with you but if you will, do not speak to him that way. He has been so kind in taking me around this kingdom with no hassle, I would not want something bad to happen." Thalia said to her. @Zelarous @Pandorian

"Hah, and I thought I came off as arrogant." Elsbeth quipped, but as she tried to turn to remove her two blades from the ground, she noticed the woman began to make a move towards her. Elsbeth stood still for just a moment, stiff with anticipation of what was going to happen. However, when the woman spoke with such softness in spite of the situation, Elsbeth's stature began to soften a little. Crossing her arms slowly, she conceded unexpectedly to the woman's request. "Alright, alright...", she spoke, only to continue with a condition after a brief sigh, "..but I simply leave, now that you've piqued my interest. From the sound of the situation, you're Plant Kingdom royalty. Out here, in these lands of all things. Even me coming here gave me a chill or two on first thought. And from the sound of it, you're on your way to that Queen's castle - not even that, you're returning there, as you have your... friendly bodyguard with you. Why?". Posing it as a rhetorical question, after a few breaths of silence, her train of thoughts aloud continued on. "...I'm prepared to strike a deal with you. I can promise to cease my... hostilities, as they would be named, at once, as well as provide an extra set of hands in the hopes that you allow me to... participate in this intriguing gathering that this Bellatrix's castle beholds, per say.". Ultimately, her plan was as she explained it, but she doubted the man would buy it, by any accounts. Her deal even kind of sounded suspicious to herself, ironically. But with a Dragon's heart no-where to be seen, this course of action seemed much more befitting of Elsbeth's time - if it was as it sounded, that is. "...feel free to consider the offer in detail. I will make amends, if they are required. Just name your poison."

@Zelarous @sprouhtt

Watching the queen of plants begin to walk towards Elsbeth, Zelarous found himself becoming uneasy. He didn't care about her safety per-say, but an order was an order. He kept himself close to the queen as she walked. He didn't want to be caught off guard. He listened to their conversation quirking his eyebrow at Elsbeth. For some reason this woman felt that she had some sort of sway in this whole thing. "You want in the castle?" he couldn't help but let out a small chuckle. "Miss....Elsbeth, once I accompany the queen of plants back to the castle, I would be happy to escort you....all the way out of the town."

Thalia looked at the queen and smiled,"There is no need to tell you why." Thalia said. "We can discuss whatever it is later, but now I have other business to attend." Thalia said to her. She bowed and walked past the Queen of the scorching land,"Come Zelarous." Thalia said. Thalia heard what he said to the queen and raised an eyebrow at his response but didn't say anything. Thalia began to walk, she didn't look back to see if he was following her or not. Thalia couldn't argue with people who wasted her time.

Aermik smiled as he hugged Tina, "There there, spies are still needed in times of peace. After all, peace only lasts as long as there are those in power to enforce it. You would be am excellent deterrent for-" He stopped as a shadow began to solidify, giving him a scroll. It seemed that there was an incident in the market. Aermik closed the scroll, quickly writing his own and handing it back. "Give her this. I do not suffer a bandit proclaiming to be a queen disrupting commerce in our market." The shadow bowed and left as multiple shadows appeared around Elsbeth, one handing her the scroll. It read, "You are to cease hostilities immediately. This is your only warning. You are always surrounded. Don't be a fool. Signed Aermik, The Undying. General of Her Majesty's army"

Tina smiled a bit. "Aermik... is it... bad that I can't kill?", she asked a bit sad. It was a point that always had worried her. A spy was nice, but an assasin was better. Zelarous said that often enough. By now, she sometimes couldnt sleep because of the fear of being replaced.

Was about to leave with Thalia when he noticed shadows racing towards the pest. He let out a sigh, it must of been the work of Aermic, he seemed to have eyes everywhere. This was there chance to get back to the castle without Elsbeth following. He took the queen by the hand and began towards the castle. He probably shouldn't have grabbed her, but he wanted to be quick about it. He also cared little for what the queen would thing, he didn't trouble himself with such petty things. "This is our chance to get back into the castle."

Aermik patted her head and squeezed her, "The opposite. You can't kill because you have a lot of heart. That counts for more than anything else. Never lose that heart and you'll always be needed." He said smiling softly.

Meanwhile at the market, the shadows dispersed after handing her the letter as commerce resumed once again, the townspeople consisting of demons, undead, and spirits were not so bothered by just another demon in their midst.

She replied back to Thalia with a smile, behind it hidden a feeling of content, yet frustration. This woman was tougher to figure out than the bodyguard that accompanied her, of which she had now learned his name. Zelarous... a man who, from the sounds of things, wanted rid of her as soon as. She wasn't scared of combat if it came down to it, but the years and past experiences had made the idea of combat an annoyance if anything in her mind. Getting the feeling of being buzzkilled, she was about to inquire about one last thing to the woman, but in a split second she was surrounded by unknown figures of shadow. With a groan, she read the scroll out loud, calming her thoughts as the words began to annoy her even more. "Of course he would be here, wouldn't he... I bet I've been labelled a lying bandit as well. Typical, considering I wasn't even the one who originally caused the commotion...". After a few deep breaths, she unearthed her two blades, throwing them onto the ground in front of her as a sort of compliance. It was probably too late to chase the two now, and even if she had the chance, it wouldn't do well to do so anyway. She slumped a little where she stood, not bothering to pick up her weapons of choice off the soil below her. "I can't get a break with these people. Even the bandits back in the remnants aren't as hard to deal with as these folks.."

Tina smiled and kissed his cheek. "Thank you... You always have the right words, Aermik.", Tina said and backed away enough to look in his eyes. "Your like a brother to me, or a father even...", she said and smiled. "But i have one question. What did you mean with you help Bellatrix with pleasure?"

"..." Shinja slowly woke up and then noticed he fell asleep. "I'm sleeping on the ground again..." he mumbled and stood up, stretching. "I... have to learn to go to bed..." he said with a smile.
