Shylu Vaan Shy groaned and put her hands on her temples. "I said it three times now. I'm here for god damn business!" She glared at the large man, well aware now that he was definitely someone who could fight her evenly. "You're a really shitty 'champion' if you can't even tell when someone is trying to do their own damn job, you really want to know what the hell my business is!? I'm searching for sulfur to replenish an explosive expert's stock!" Throughout all this yelling her hellhounds appeared and her phoenix mantle cause fire to appear. Taking a deep breath she barked orders at the hellhounds and they disappeared the same way they appeared. "Look. I hate you. I need sulfur. Let's move on with this wretched life." Shy punched the tree she had earlier been sitting against and it fell down, bursting into phoenix fire and becoming ash within moments. "I just need to get this damn job done."
((Damn.)
To say Uhtred was unfazed was an understatement, he seemed to love antagonizing her. Of course, he wouldn't let her in. "You're looking for Sulfur in the Dark Kingdom? What a load of shit, go to the Earth or Fire, I'm sure they'll have some." His eyes bared down on her. "So you've set not only some dirt, but now a tree aflame, you're quite the impressive pyromaniac." His eyes flickered to the hellhounds, they were an amusing thought, as a single swipe of his sword and he had no doubt they'd be torn to shreds. His hand would reach for the hilt as her powers were displayed, discomfort growing. This was more than likely leading to a confrontation, and he provoked it. Whatever. "I'm fine being a poor champion, so long as I'm not an imbecile searching for sulfur in the wrong kingdom." With that, the massive man would take on a very sadistic grin, stepping back into the barrier with only a few back pedals. He wanted to see this woman angry, and was giving her every excuse.

Saij tried desperately to keep his mind calm and his balance centered as he stood with one foot atop a square of sand. The vast, dingy caverns of the old Air Kingdom surrounded him and his companion, walls held high by ancient columns of sand and stone. The withered remains of statues creeping out from the sands as the warm desert air brushed across his face, and the streaks of sunlight streamed in through the openings of the cavern pressing against his cloak warmly. He wobbled a bit, the sand square still keeping its form as he kept his eyes closed, breathing in and out with the gusts of wind around him. His best friend Sara sat across from him and the square, her legs crossed and her red hair dangling in front of her face, a braid held together by trinkets found in the sand ages ago. The young lady sighed, obviously engulfed with boredom, clutching her spear in one hand as she watched Saij. "Why do you even bother with this?" she asked. Saij kept his eyes closed, still concentrating on his task "In order to be as light as the air, one must practice...Practice makes perfect Sara....perhaps you should practice your own power, and then your creations wouldn't break so much?" he smirked. "hey! I made a pretty good square didn't I? hmmm?" she frowned slightly, blowing her red hair away gently before standing up and starting to walk closer to him. "oh yes, and I thank you for it" he answered slyly "tho...if I wasn't as light as the leaves, I'm sure this square would br-EAAahhH" he yelped as she nudged his side gently and he fell over off the cube of sand. The cube lost its form and fell to meet the rest of the sand. "okay okay, I deserved that" Saij admitted, standing and wiping off his cloak, moving his tanned hands up to adjust the crown on his head. "ugh...why do you still wear that thing?" Sara asked, shaking her head "you should really get a better crown, as king of the Air Kingdom..." "I'm not king" "....how do you expect other royalty to respect you wearing that thing?" "I'm not king Sara, and I happen to LIKE this crown, its special" She rolled her eyes at him "yeah well come on NOT king, I'm sure your NOT subjects are wondering where you are, that's enough air training for one afternoon don't you think?" she winked. Saij grabbed his bag, throwing it over his shoulder and smiling at the red haired girl. "what?" she asked, turning away a bit before he bumped her with his hip and started walking "you pushed me you ass" she followed, smiling "you wouldn't shut up about my cube, you deserved it your majesty!"

"Actually, ma'am, we were instructed to follow you until this point. Our King awaits you further ahead. Farewell." Damian smiled at the kind words. "I'll be sure to work, hard, ma'am! I'll see you at the nomination" They saluted and left Elsbeth alone at the gates. Once they were open, however, she could see the courtyard decorated with ribbons and flags of the kingdom, it's iconic fire waving with the wind. The well-tended grass was occupied by some handmaidens, who adjusted the final decorations to the bushes. Galandor was talking to one of the maidens, making sure some of the nobles are notified. He sees Elsbeth and approaches her. "Elsbeth! You've arrived just in time. It's almost ready, in about an hour the ceremony will begin. Let's go down to the forges, Abzidian has your armor ready. So, how was sleeping in the comfort of your home felt like, after all these years?" He started walking.
Elsbeth observed as the decorations were being finalized in awe, before Galandor's call snapped her back into focus. "Ah, Galandor. I must apologize but, I'd be damned if I didn't say these decorations are as awe-inspiring as they are. I can see you and the maidens put a lot of effort into it.", she mentioned, a faint blush patterned onto her cheeks. Following alongside him, she began to recite her experience at home for the first time in what felt like forever. "Slept like a drunk. One of the first times I'd slept in anything you'd consider a nightgown, I'll say that - I guess the homely feeling was more potent than I thought... speaking of which, did you sleep well yourself, last night? I mean, we were in the Forges late. Surely you'd be hard-pressed for time between that and setting up the ceremony.". Elsbeth expressed genuine concern for Galandor - she didn't want to see him overworked, as she knew as well as quite a few people at Quaani at the time how much chaos the entire situation was. If anything, this time was a time of rest. Perhaps a calm before the storm underneath.

Sora looked out the window of a fairly well known earth kingdom blacksmith. This is where he lived under the condition to use his power for helping provide materials to the owner. Sure the swords were a bit odd being made from gems that Sora either created or pulled from the earth as per his ability and even if the gem swords that carried elemental enchantments didn't sell. There were plenty of people will to by raw gemstones. In light of this, Sora was rarely allowed to leave the blacksmith since most people who lived nearby all knew Sora provided the gems. But they didn't know how or where he got them from.

Add to that the fact the the blacksmith owner and workers only talk to him when they want or need more gems and you get a pretty boring lifestyle. Though, none of this ever stopped Sora from sneaking outside every once in awhile. Sometimes if he was lucky, someone would forget to lock the blacksmith up at night and Sora could sneak out to change into his true form and fly around in the night. He always like flying at night in his true form and loved the feel of wind rushing past him. He couldn't explain it, but it was relaxing for him.

"chance!" Sora thought rushing out of the blacksmith and past the workers working the forge. Sure if they found out he'd gone outside he would be yelled at again. Even so, it was too boring to be stuck inside all the time and not allowed out. "stupid owner." he thought mentally sticking his tongue at the building. Despite being a hundred years old, he was still a kid by his race's standard. But to the humans he was a twenty year old freeloading male.

"Look out!!" Carson was falling off a building about to land on some guy but barely missed him and landed right in front of him on his back "o-ow.....note most buildings in earth kingdom.....still not strong enough to climb....."

Locke slept like a rock until mid-afternoon, when he finally began to stir. He very groggily got up and stretched, yawning at the same time, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. He went to his pile of clothes and started getting dressed, very tiredly trying to remember what happened yesterday. "Lesee, there was Ammax, bandits, map, more bandits, Fire Kingdom, that one demon-phoenix lady. There's something I'm missing." He mumbled to himself as he got dressed, buttoning his shirt and putting on the tailcoat. "Right, she was gonna send word if she saw my sister. But there was something before that..." Locke scratched his chin in thought, heading to the library to take a look at the map. He then snapped his fingers in realization. "Right, I used the wind to feel things! Didn't know I could do that..." He closed his eyes, using the wind as an extra nervous system, feeling everything in the library... within a radius of about 10 meters. "So I can't just see everything..." He took another look at the map. Fire Kingdom was unlikely at this point, maybe he would check Dark? Or maybe Light and Sky just to get it over with... Did he even properly check the Air Kingdom? Locke realized that maybe he should have started a little closer to home, grabbed his cloak, and set out to the sands.

Hearing a yell, Sora looked up to see a body fall inches in front of him. At first he thought it was a dead body and startle backwards a few steps. But, hearing the body speak relieved him enough that Sora let out a relieved sigh and glared at the man. "that was dangerous! why are even trying to climb buildings in the first place?" Sora was slightly peeved not because of nearly being landed on. But because he'd hurt himself and because of his race's inborn friendliness and kindness was egging Sora to ask the man if anything was broken.

Carson waved it off "I'm fine it's happened before......" He stood up and groaned as he felt his bones pop loudly "I was........er falsely accused of blowing up a barrel so I was running from the guards. Nothing major"

Sora gave the man a look that asked 'are you stupid' and groaned. "your running from the guards... and you decided to get away by climbing buildings?" He asked before adding "you blew up a barrel?"

Carson shook his head "of course not! My friend did. And blamed it on me. And yes I climbed buildings because guards can't climb since they're too heavy."

Sora gave a disbelieving look. "but still, climbing? what if you had fell on someone else?" He said now thinking of a guard trying to climb and couldn't help the small smirk from forming on his face momentarily. "anyways, why a barrel though?"

Carson grinned "because barrels are smug as fuck. They just sit there staring and judging the world.....so they must be destroyed!" He had a look of pure determination but soon he just laughed "I'm kidding it was just because it was the nearest thing."

Sora couldn't help the small laugh that left his mouth. "what are you a barrel slayer?" He joked back. "the nearest thing? why blow anything up? were you that bored?" Sora asked returning to being serious.

Carson simply nodded "I am that bored. I'm waiting for my next job so I'm trying to kill some time." He said with a smile putting his hands behind his head

Sora simply shook his head. "try not being allowed outside" He thought while considering the man to be lucky to go out whenever he wanted. "wait, job? what do you do?" Sora asked curious now, since he only knew of blacksmiths.

"assassin? hm... guess that makes you someone to watch out for." Sora said thinking of the many death threats from others wanting to know how and where he got his gems from the supplied the blacksmith. He wasn't bothered by the the man's innocent smile after saying he killed for a living. Since Sora had killed before too, but instead of humans it'd been non-humans like himself. "so you kill non-humans too?" He asked having assumed the man human.

The guards simply squint at jgraz "you can't blow random things up I don't care who's idea it was!"
Carson hid in a random building waiting for the guards to walk by
"I apologize." Jgraz tells them. "It will not happen again." He looks into faces of the guards and waits for their decision.

Galandor shrugged. "About two hours of sleep, maybe less. I had to work in your blades, didn't I? Also, preparations were needed for the ceremony. It's simple, but a nomination is a nomination, after all." They descended into the Forges, the familiar heat and rhytmic sounds of hammer and steel filling the atmosphere. They went father than before, though, reaching one of the larger forges in the deeps. Two men were working hard, pounding a sheet of steel just to plunge it into water, then repeat. Abzidian was on the other side, back to the duo, his huge body obscuring something he was working. "Abizidian, is the armor ready?" The towering centaur looked behind him, then smiled. "My lord, I was just finishing the polishing. Take a look." He stepped aside, and the armor came into view. The armor was intricate, decipting an intricate sun on its chestpiece, matching with its holder's title. The steel was tinted dark, with blood red details on several parts of it. The backside had two openings for the wings to slip easily, and the inside was fitted with a cool type of cloth, for comfort. The gauntlets were sturdy, lacking the designs of the chestpiece, but at the same time, drawing the attention to the design of the chest.. The legs had the same simple design as the arms, with the exception of layered sheets of steel, for extreme mobility. Finally, the helmet was closed on the front, but had a wide eye slit. In the top rested a large red ponytail, and two holes for the horns to slip in. The armor shined with the orange light of the forge, giving it a strong and mystical look. "They're a fine piece of work, whelp. I'm proud of me and my subordinates." Abzidian said, without a drop of modesty. Galandor clapped, looking the armor from every angle. "I had no doubts of your work, Abzidian. They're impressive. What do you think, Elsbeth?"

"well, guess it's better than being killed by someone who hates you... i guess." Sora nonchalantly stated. "though if you were payed to kill me. i'd probably not fight you."

Sora shrugged before answering with "because fighting back against humans goes against my race's ways". His eyes darkened with recalled memories. Sora tried to never think about the past, in times like this when he mentioned his race. the unwanted memories would surface as if reminding him of their existence. "and i know how survival works. I grew up alone."
