Fantasy The War (Players Needed)

Galandor jumped back, startled, as the cannonball hit where Zelarous stood. "Cannon? I didn't know about a cannon! So that's what hit the barrier earlier." He grinned. "That's an efficient way of dealing with someone. Although it needs something else, in my opinion." He snapped his finger, and the area where Zelarous fell was surrounded by a raging fire. "There, much better."

A laugh racked Bellatrix's body. One that sounded dark and evil. (Think Maleficent.) "Tricked? Tricked? Oh my! You think you have been tricked? Never." Her face twisted into a serpent's grin once more. "You brought this to yourself my darling. Betraying my kingdom like that? No. That is unforgivable." She replied, her voice showing just how satisfied she was with how broken he looked. "My dear little Zelarous. What did you think to happen when you left? Did you think I'd let your just..get away with that? Ha!" Her nefarious laughter returned as she raised a free hand and recited a spell. The small black chains from the hall came back tying him down tighter than before as the black flames ate up around his wrists, but his was short lived as Bellatrix swayed. Her vision was spotty and fading to dark. Exhaustion was finally consuming her with that last spell.

She had to stifle a small yelp as the cannon sounded out inside the barrier. A cannon... well, that was a turn of events. Elsbeth's eyes glared at the new eruption of fire as it began to burst out of the ground. "I guess I have a lot of magic to learn yet...", she muttered contently, basking in the light of the glow. Bellatrix was a harsh mistress, that much was for certain. It sent shivers down Elsbeth's usually firm spine - but yet, the Queen seemed to falter, oh so suddenly. In a split reaction, Elsbeth pushed Galandor in the Queen's vague direction, and shouted out to both Aermik and the Emperor; "Quick now, you two!"

Zelarous was helpless at this point. He could barely move, the shrapnel was too many and too deep. Fire surrounded him on all sides , though that in particular was nothing to him. He looked up at Bellatrix who stood before him. He listened to her words, he had never planned to be here. It was obviously a mistake, he was not ready as he thought he was to face his queen. Chains formed around his wrists covered in her infamous black flames. Zelarous tried to hold it in but the pain was too much like his previous entombment. Starting as pained grunts eventually turned into a blood curdling scream. Though, it was hoarse as he had been coughing on his own blood at this point. The flames dissipated as Bellatrix passed out. It was a moment of relief, if you could call it that in his current condition. He was breathing hard as if he were exhausted "I.." he started in between breaths "I was tricked, it had to of been a trick." he repeated from earlier. Bellatrix had acted like her old self to trick him into a vulnerable state.

Aermik stepped forward, putting a hand to Bellatrix, smiling as he stepped through the barrier and stood in front of Zelarous, taking in a deep breath and letting it slowly out. "You know, it really is a nice day outside today, don't you think?" He asked as he passed through the flames, catching on fire, but seeming largely unconcerned with it. Look around you, the way the dusk settles on every living thing in the kingdom, the way that night falls all around us in perpetuity. It's really a shame whenever you think about it." He said looking up and sighing. "It's been so long since I've had to do this, you know? I don't particularly want to." He closed his eyes and reopened them. They were now pitch black orbs that seemed to go on into infinity. "But then again those innocent people whose souls you stole. They didn't want to be a part of this either." He said as he brought his sword down on Zelarous, aiming for his neck and to execute the now incapacitated criminal.

Galandor rushed to Bellatrix's side, grabbing her before she dropped on the ground. "There you go..." He looked at her face, exhausted. "Let's see if I still got it..." He started reciting an old incantation, unsure if it works in undead. He remembered being in the Lava Forges, being taught by his parents. Whenever something bad happened with him, his mother held him in her arms and recited.

"By the earth who nurture us all.

By the fire who keep us warm.

By the water that nourishes up.

By the air that fill our lungs in the morning.

My energy flows into you, like the elements themselves."

A gout of blue fire circled the couple as a flow of energy went from Galandor to Bellatrix. It went for a while, and ended as soon as the circle of fire slowly faded to nothingness. Galandor sighed, finally exhausted, as he shared his own energy with Bellatrix. "This should heal you up. Are you okay?" He said, his now pale yellow eyes looked at Bellatrix.

Bellatrix felt Aermik's hand on her then felts Galandor's arms around her. Normally she'd reacted, but she didn't have it in her. The whip fell from her hand to the ground, the flame extinguished. Just as Bellatrix was about to pass out, Galandor recited something. She couldn't quite make it out, all she knew was that energy was filling her. It wasn't much, but enough to help her stand, wobbly but stand nonetheless. The spots and black edges on her vision disappeared, as well as her second personality. All she was Galandor's face as she blinked away the remaining bits of black. "I..I..wh-what happened?" She asked him as she arms clung tightly to him, her face a mixture of concern and exhaustion. The energy he'd given her would be enough to get her to her room in the castle, maybe a bit more..she wasn't sure.

Bellatrix could remember nothing about returning to her old self. Not a thing. To her she'd passed out right before getting to the barrier's edge, but in reality that was not the case at all.
"What..are you doing here? D-did you go see the other side?" She looked down, noticing the fact that she was in his arms. This made her blush a light rose. "A..and why..why are we like this?" She questioned. Everything she spoke was soft, nearly whispers but enough to be heard.

Zelarous heard Aermik's voice echo through the flames, until Zelarous watched him walk towards him through the flames. He coughed and a laughed at the remark Aermik made about the weather but not in a callous way. It was more of the laugh of a man with nothing left to lose. Just very subtle, Zelarous coughed in between. He knew what was coming and could do nothing about it. He was too weak, and he was shackled. Zelarous looked up at the dark sky, it was lit with stars tonight. He heard Bellatix' voice, but it was not the voice of his master. "Perhaps, it is right for a servant to die, along with his master." he managed to mutter, not even sure if anyone could hear it. Perhaps he should of died the day that Bellatrix turned herself into something he could no longer recognize. The sword plunged down on his neck. He didn't want to die my Aermik's hands. Not by the man he despised so much. He limply grabbed the blade of the sword with his hand rather tightly, tight enough to cause his hand to bleed. He knew he would go back to the place he feared most, he would be back chained in hell. He wondered it would be for eternity this time, or if one day another mortal would bring him into the world. Zelarous' hand fell from the sword. His vision began to blur until there was nothing but darkness left, and the fires of hell illuminated once more.

Galandor smiled as he hauled her from the ground. "Aermik is there. Don't worry. Elsbeth, prepare the soldiers. It's time to return to Orbis." He walked back to the castle, Bellatrix in his arms. "That whip, it really does something wrong to you, huh. You used so much magic in a short period of time, you were exhausted. I used the Energy Siphon incantation to not let you suffer more. It's an old spell, my mother taught me. That's why we're like this." He walked, his eyes now tired. "You need some serious rest. The barrier, the attack, the traitor. You're spent. I think that a lich needs to rest every once in a while, to replenish his mana reserves. There's no need to worry about me, though, I'm fine. unfortunately, I need to return to my homeland. There's some issues need solving." They reached the castle, and then her bedroom. "There, nice and easy."

As Bellatrix was taken to her room and told of the events, she was quite shocked to hear she'd even touched the whip. "I..used the whip?" She questioned. She was so sure she'd passed out right before reaching the edge. Right after the.. Her face grew in color. "Wait wait. We did we.." She cleared her throat. No. Not the time for that question. When they'd reached her room and she sat on her bed, still dressed in armor, she looked up at him a small frown on her face when he said he'd go going home. "Must you do so now? Why don't you get some rest. We both need it.. Stay here. For only a few more hours. You never know what dangers await when you head home. Best be prepared and rested." She said, not only trying to convince him, but logic with him. It was true that she didn't want him to leave, but he would have to and soon. Bellatrix had became quite attached to him, and knew that when he left..he wouldn't be back for a long time and she certainly couldn't leave to visit. "Galandor..you do realize..I cannot leave my kingdom. Not so long as the barrier is up. I am bound here." She told him, her voice sad.

Aermik sheathed his sword, shaking his head as his eyes returned to normal, turning his back to the body as he walked back to the castle. He was emotionally drained, he couldn't handle much more. He shook his head as he knocked on the queen's door, walking in after he knocked and sitting next to her, not paying attention to Galanoth as he sat silent for a few moments before letting out a loud sigh. "He's dead. I killed him. I've killed a lot today." He looked up at the ceiling. "I'm going to go to my room, send for me when you two are done." He got up, having troubles even walking as he went back to his room and laid down, staring blankly at the ceiling, wondering if he did the right thing.

With the atmosphere dying down, the calling of her name was music to her ears. "Got it, Chief. Leave 'em to me - You got a lot to fill me in about when we get there, though.", she tuned. With a reinvigorated dash, she seemed to run at messenger's speed back up towards the castle, bringing the message of departure to the soldiers of the guard. Upon her arrival, she talked about the proceedings to the soldiers - of the traitor that had been talked about and returning to Orbis. Cheers resounded throughout the air, almost as a battle cry of victory. It had been a long day or so for the soldiers before Elsbeth, so they were probably glad they were finally returning home. It kind of felt good to her too, but the biggest worry resided in what was her course of action for when she got there. Frankly, she was quite anxious of their return, as it held a turning point in her... infamous career, per say. Nevertheless, Elsbeth gathered the soldiers together and made them prepare for departure.

Ryan sighed a everything happened in front of him. He left the castle and begin to walk around the dark kingdom. No one would care if I don't come back right? Ryan has always wondered what if he could leave the plant kingdom and become a farmer or a innkeeper. Sure, they don't make a lot of money, but their better than running a kingdom. It's funny how 200 years without love can do to someone. He never had love from anyone outside of his family. But since his sister became queen, he became more invisible. After walking for a while, he went to the barrier and sighed as he placed his hand on the barrier. Since Bellatrix is too busy flirting, he can't get her attention. But he still had to get end the war, but so far it seems like everyone wanted peace. Then why did the war still go on? Maybe someone else wanted the war to continue. ,he though. No, it can't be that. Well maybe. RYan sighed as his hand was still on the barrier. Unable to leave the dark kingdom.

Nodding Faolin asked, "How good is the new warrior?" He looked around the room as he stated, "This much is not necessary but thank you Thalia." He pulled of his sword and asked, "What times to I need to attend meals and where are they held?" He looked at her and smiled and walked to her then stated, "I feel spoiled." He grinned at her. The room was like a cathedral overly big for what it contained.

"I have yet to test her," Thalia said to him as she put her hand on her hips. Her warm hand touching her cold armor,"Ha, I see that you are already eager to eat. I must say around her we do not dine on animals, we value our animals but if you would like I will send one of the servants to get a small amount from our neighboring markets." She told him trying to be considerate of what he eats since everyone doesn't eat the same thing. It was a crime to kill an animal in the Plant Kingdom since they care for every forest creature that lives. "...meals are held in the grand room when the first sunset ray hits the castle towel which is at exactly 6p.m." Thalia told him.

"I... I really do want to stay, but I have been far from my home for too long. My soldiers, my general, they're all eager to return to their families."He took her helmet off and placed it on the end table. "You know, right? Families. I can't deny them to see their families for too long. Especially Elsbeth. She suffered so much..." He trailed his fingers in her hair, not breaking eye contact. When she told about the barrier, he looked down. "I know. You must take care of your own family as well. It's hard to leave like this, y'know. But I feel it's necessary." He grabbed one last ruby from his pocket. "This is my parting gift. Use this, and wherever I am, I'll know. And I'll come to aid you." He silently watched as Aermik came, told her of the news, and left. "Your problem is taken care of. Now, my dear, I must go. Goodbye." He gently kissed her again, not wanting it to end. He then broke the kiss, rose from the bed and forced himself to leave the room. The griffons were already there, with the soldiers and Elsbeth. "Everything set? Then let's go." He mounted a griffon, and with his soldiers, protected by his own sigil, shared with Bellatrix's magic, crossed the barrier. Back to Mt. Joelark. Back to Orbis.

Ryan sighed as he looked up in the sky. The king of fire seemed to passed through like the barrier wasn't there at all. Maybe Bellatrix is not as busy anymore. Ryan sighed as he trailed back to the castle. He walked through the castle in search of Bellatrix, but found her nowhere. But he seemed to find the piano again. He walked toward it and sat on the stool again. He begined to pick at the keys again. The sounds begin to fill the room as he starts to experiment by pressing more than one keys. The soothing sounds seem to take away all the stress as he keeps picking at the key board.

When Galandor had said He wanted to stay, it filled her with hope until he said something about families. Family. She needed to talk with hers. She needed to know that everyone was okay and going to be okay. It had been a hard day on not only her but everyone. As the King gave her the ruby and played with her hair, she never broke eye contact. Not once. Then came the kiss. The bittersweet kiss of goodbye. A kiss she'd only shared twice in her years. That is what caused her heart to ache. A heart she long believed has stopped loving. That had become stone to such things. It seemed that after 215 years of being lonely, building her walls and holing back..she'd finally found it again.

Briefly she wondered if souls could move through time, if it was possible for them to fill another body. Take on a new role. Is that what happened with Demitri? After so many years.. Did he finally come back to her in the form of a fiery king with a heart of gold? Was it possible? She liked to believe it was. After coming to this conclusion she stood from her bed, took the armor off and put it away, along with all her weapons except the sword from the king. The ruby clutched in her hands as she took the sword and laid it against her end table and hide the ruby in a drawer. Later she would make it into a necklace, right now she needed to check on her family.

Bellatrix redressed into a silk black night gown that only came down to her mid thigh. It of course showed off the decay on her legs, not that it was much or deep, but it was there. After dressing she made her way out of her room and toward Aermik's. Once there, she gave a gentle knock.
"May I?" She asked from behind the door. He might be a pet, but she respected his privacy.

Aermik nodded from the bed, "You may come in any time you wish, you know that." He sighed. He had since changed from his armor to a simple shirt and loose fitting pants that were comfortable and allowed him to move freely. He looked at the door, beckoning Bellatrix to come in. "So, you and him going to be a couple then?"

Bellatrix entered and walked over to his bed, sitting on the edge with her hands on her lap. A small soft chuckle escaped her at his question. "If he wishes it to be so, then yes. I suppose we shall, but until I am asked..then we are not." She answered him before looking around the room. She'd been in here many a time, but never took notice of it. Never saw how he'd put his own twist on it. "Are you..alright? It has been a long day and..I simply wished to make sure.." She asked, and though that was true, she did wish to check on him. She also wished to talk to someone. Someone who'd known her for quite some time.

Aermik shook his head, "If I said I was quite alright, I'd be lying." He sighed sitting up. "I killed a multitude of people, got us a cannon, executed a war criminal, watched my queen become infatuated with another, worked out how to make all nations happy, stopped a potential rebellion, saved a treaty, and made more coffee than I could ever drink in my entire lifetime. In short, today was long. I'm tired." He took a deep breath and exhaled it. "There's something you should know, mistress." He looked at Bellatrix, "If you are so married again, I will be resigning. It would be too indecent to have both pet and husband."

Bellatrix swallowed quite hard. He had been through a lot today, and part of it was her fault. Actually likely all of it. She crawled up further onto the bed, now only a few inches from him. "I am..truly sorry for all that I put you through Aermik." She said, her voice very soft and eyes gentle and kind. She often was not this openly emotional, but right now it could not be helped. "You are still my General and family. A pet very last." She said, giving him a hopeful smile. "And who said anything about marriage? Certainly not me. Or he. If it comes, it comes. But who would want to marry an old bat like me? I'll be a wore out old skeleton by the time that happens." She joked, trying her best to lighten the heavy mood.

Aermik smiled, "I know many who would want nothing more than your hand in marriage, myself being among the ranks of men who would want such an honor." He put his hand on hers, "I remember the day you found me. How scared the others were. I had accepted my death you know. But evidently I was meant for greater plans." He nodded remembering it all.

Bellatrix's smile increased. "Well. I don't like Death to have his way. Never have never will. You were the very first person I'd ever tried that experimental magic on. The first person's life I'd ever saved instead of taking.." She said, her hand gently squeezing his. "I meet you a few years after my transition. A man dying, surrounded by scared people. And I walked past them all. Completely fearless." She added, the memory surfacing as though it was only yesterday.

Aermik nodded, "You know... I don't mind if you want to get married to him. I suppose it makes sense that someone as beautiful as you gets married and has a king again. I'll support you every step of the way in any action that will make you happy."

Bellatrix chuckles softly. "I don't really deserve to be married. Not after what happened the first time.." She said rather solemnly. She believed that statement to be truth all the way through. Bellatrix's first marriage may not of been perfect, but the two seemed happy. Until that one tragic day. Of course she'd never really told anyone the full story. Aermik didn't even know the tale. He simply knew she was married once before and that was because he found her old dress.
