Fandom The Untold Stories of Hogwarts - 1x1 HP RP

Xavier had been over the moon the last few months ever since Aaron had agreed to be his boyfriend. His thoughts were torn between Aaron and studying for his exams as the end of the semester drew closer. He'd gone to each of the tasks during the tournament and he was glad he'd been underaged. Some of these tasks were crazy to him, like stealing an egg from a dragon or diving into the lake. The quidditch cup had been cancelled as well which was pretty upsetting, but it also meant that Gryffindor technically held it for two years in a row. The sun was warm as the student body was settled watching the third task of the Tri-Wizard Tournament. It was a huge maze and they had to make it to the center to win the tournament.

He was sitting beside Aaron, his arm over the boy's shoulders. Ever since they'd gotten together, Xavier didn't seem to be able to stop the small things like hugs, holding his hands and the side hugs. He had hoped that Aaron didn't mind, Xavier had always been tactile and found comfort in the little things. He was content with life as it was, beside his boyfriend, his best friend, and watching someone who he admired as a strong wizard and one who'd helped him through countless study sessions when he could tell that Xavier had been struggling. Cedric and Harry were both doing great, but Viktor and Fleur were doing just as well. It was definitely close.

The rest of fourth year rolled along and everything was going well for Aaron Hoskins. He was the happiest he had been in quite some time now and it was a lot in part thanks to his new boyfriend Xavier. Aaron’s relationship with the Hufflepuff boy had turned from purely platonic to full on romantic, and he loved it. When before the two boys were seemingly inseparable, they only became more so now that they were officially dating. Aaron was very much enjoying having a boyfriend and his love for Xavier only seemed to grow with each passing day. As the semester went on, Aaron would play in a few Quidditch games and go with Xavier to watch the different tasks in the Tri-Wizard Tournament. They were all very difficult so Aaron was glad to be in the stands with Xavier cheering the contestants on rather than competing himself. He was competitive, but not THAT competitive.

Months passed and now it was the late stages of June of 1995. The school year was coming to an end and many hours of studying paid off during their final exams, which happened not too long ago. Aaron had done quite well so he couldn’t complain. The only thing that made him a little sad was the fact that Dumbledore had cancelled the Quidditch Cup this month, so no team would be able to play for it this year. Aaron was a little down about that but he did have Xavier and the Tri-Wizard Tournament was going on in full swing. Plus, Gryffindor’s former captain Oliver Wood had graduated last year so they no longer had him and because of it, were suffering during the season. But today was a very nice and warm day in late June and Aaron found himself sitting in the stands and watching the third task of the tournament.

The Quidditch pitch had been converted into a big maze and Aaron sat with Xavier as the Hogwarts students watched and cheered on their two competitors. The one who made it to the center of the maze would win the Tri-Wizard Tournament for their school. Aaron had felt sympathy for poor Harry Potter who was underage and only fourteen like him- seeing the boy have to go through all of the grueling tasks. Hufflepuff’s very own Cedric Diggory had been doing quite well and was doing a good job of representing Hogwarts in the tournament. He knew that Xavier was friendly with the handsome older Hufflepuff lad. Aaron sat very close to Xavier in the stands as they watched the third task in the maze. He and Xavier had been very touchy ever since they became boyfriends, even more than before, and Aaron very much enjoyed it all.

Xavier had watched as the competitors made their way through the maze and couldn't help but be amazed at some of the things that they were doing. He looked beside him at Aaron, thankful that he was at his side and not going through the same tasks that Harry had been going through. Xavier was thankful that exams had been over, and he'd passed everything with high marks. He had been proud of himself for getting a good mark in Ancient Runes because that class had definitely given him a run for even his academic ability, but he loved the class all the same. "Can you imagine doing something like this?" He asked Aaron beside him. His eyes remain locked on the maze but his attention was also on the boy sitting close to him. He moved his arm off the lad's shoulder before placing it on the leg that was touching Aarons. Again, selfishly, he was glad that Aaron was beside him not facing the dangers of the maze below. He didn't even have a chance to hear Aaron's answer when Harry and Cedric both touched the Tournament cup and a bright light flashed, before they were gone. Xavier didn't have any words for what just happened.

Aaron was glad to be close to Xavier and safe up there in the stands and not competing in the dangerous maze down below. He was perfectly happy to stay here. Aaron had opened his mouth to answer Xavier’s question with a quick no, but didn’t even have the chance to do so. Suddenly from the maze came a bright flash of light as both Harry Potter and Cedric Diggory touched the Tri-Wizard Cup. Aaron’s eyes widened and there was a gasp from the crowd as the two disappeared. Aaron looked around and the crowd began to chatter nervously. No one knew what had just happened. Aaron looked over at Xavier with a worried expression in his hazel eyes.

Xavier looked over at Aaron, confusion and worry in his own chocolate brown eyes. What had just happened? Where did they go? He could feel himself freezing up. What else would happen? Was that just the first flash of disappearing students? Too many questions flew through his head. His hand subconsciously moved towards Aaron's searching for comfort. Both boys knew the competitors, both boys had been friends with them, and now they were both gone? Just vanished into thin air? It was disconcerting to say the least. "Wh-What just happened?" His voice was soft, worry and nervousness laced his words.

Aaron was fearful now. He knew Cedric was a friend of Xavier’s and of course, Harry was his own friend and teammate. Now they had disappeared and panic and uncertain was beginning to settle in to all of the students sitting in the stands. “I- I don’t know,” replied Aaron softly, looking just as confused and worried as Xavier. He wished he had an answer for his boyfriend but he did not.

Xavier took his boyfriend in his arms, bringing him close. He was going to do his best to bring comfort to the boy. They had no clue what was going on. He held Aaron tight to his chest, it was comforting having that contact. He was scared, scared for Cedric, for Harry and for Aaron. He didn't think the boy could take another loss of a good friend. He had been shattered when Jacob died, and he couldn't imagine if Harry didn't make it. Of course, what Xavier didn't expect was usually what happened. He could hear the students nervously talking, panic in their tones and Xavier rested his head on Aaron's trying to calm himself down with that pine scent of his boyfriend.

Aaron let himself be pulled in close to Xavier. He felt comforted by his boyfriend’s touch- it always helped him feel safe in times of trouble or uncertainty. Now was definitely one of those times. Aaron wished he had answers but he didn’t- no one did. Everyone seemed to be confused and just as panicked as they were. Aaron then worried for Harry and feared the worst. He’d already lost one friend at Hogwarts, and although Harry Potter wasn’t nearly as close to him as Jacob Cromwell was, Aaron didn’t want to see another friend gone- especially not the famous Boy Who Lived. Cedric Diggory was certainly a promising young wizard, always kind and hard working- exemplifying the qualities of the Hufflepuff house. He was clearly going places and had a long adult life ahead of him. Aaron hoped for the best- wondering where the two had gone and hoping that they’d come back somehow.

It felt like ages as Xavier held Aaron close. His head still rested on the other boys head. He had started gently rubbing his boyfriends back slowly. He was afraid, but he had Aaron, that was all he needed. The students around them were still talking nervously, the professors were all in the center of the maze trying to figure out just what had happened. Xavier's eyes were drawn from Aaron to the maze before another flash of light appeared. In the center was Harry, crouched over Cedric's body. Harry looked like he'd been fighting with cuts and scratches but Cedric, he wasn't moving. Harry looked like he'd been crying. "Oh no.. Not him" Xavier whispered, his attention now split between comforting his boyfriend and the fact that his friend wasn't moving out in the center of the maze.

Aaron wasn’t comforted at all as he saw the professor gather at the center of the maze. They all looked confused and the fact that the adults didn’t know what was going on was deeply unsettling. Aaron squeezed Xavier’s hand tightly as he waited for something, anything to happen. Suddenly, after a while, that same flash of light appeared and there at the center of the maze were Harry and Cedric- but something was different. Something was wrong, and gravely so. The scene Aaron and the rest of the students in the stands could make out from there was Harry Potter crouched over a body- a handsome young man with Hufflepuff robes. There was no doubt that this was Cedric Diggory lying on the ground motionless. Aaron’s eyes widened and his blood ran cold as he realized that Harry was crying. Aaron had never seen Harry Potter cry. He looked distraught. The boy with glasses and green eyes looked all scratched up, denoting that clearly he had been through something rough. Cedric’s body did not move. Aaron said nothing as his heart sank. Cedric Diggory had been killed- Cedric Diggory was dead.

Xavier could feel himself shutting down, his stance had gone rigid. His hand had frozen, stopping the rubbing on Aaron’s back. Cedric Diggory didn’t deserve this, he was a brilliant wizard and had a long life ahead of him. Xavier recalled many nights where the older boy would help him with potions or ancient runes. He was a great friend and the entirety of Hufflepuff would mourn his loss. Xavier could see that Harry Potter was crying which made it worse. Xavier could feel the tears in his eyes and he sniffed. His emotions were running wild as he could recall all the little memories.

The crowd was stunned. Some gasped as they realized what had happened. Aaron was just silent. He had nothing to say. This was yet another tragic loss- a young Hogwarts student taken much too soon from the world. Aaron wasn’t close to Cedric at all- in fact, he didn’t even know him. But he knew that Xavier did and his heart hurt for his boyfriend because of it. All Aaron could do was hug Xavier close and gently rub his back in an attempt to comfort him. The sobbing of a few females in the crowd could be heard.

Xavier felt Aaron bring him close instead. He turned his head into Aaron’s side as he felt the hand on his back. His breathing wavered but he wouldn’t actually let himself cry. There were too many people for him. Crying in front of Aaron was one thing but the entire student body plus their visitors? He curled further into his boyfriend’s side, enjoying the contact even as he tried not to fall apart. The more he thought about it, the more he realized that he’d looked up to Cedric as a role model and a brother figure.

Aaron swallowed hard, trying to find the words to say but not having any. All he could do was hold his boyfriend tightly and rub his back. “I’m sorry….” he whispered quietly. “It’s going to be alright…” he added. But he didn’t know if this was true.

He swallowed his tears and moved his head so he could speak. “I just can’t believe he’s gone” He whispered. “I-I can’t, I have to get out of here.” Suddenly there were too many people. Xavier had never been claustrophobic before but his emotions were high and usually that threw him for a loop. “Please” He said softly, the crying, the gasps and the other noises from the students were echoing around him. He needed quiet and he needed Aaron.

Aaron frowned but quickly sprung into action as Xavier expressed his sudden desire the leave. Aaron held Xavier close still and helped him up. “Come on, let’s go,” he whispered, swiftly ushering Xavier up and out of the stands. He didn’t know where they were going but he was going to take Xavier anywhere but the Quidditch pitch where Cedric’s dead body laid. Aaron felt a lump form in his throat as he gulped. “It’s going to be alright Xaie I promise,” he said softly.

Xavier walked beside Aaron, numbness in his bones. He’d eventually get over this, but it wasn’t going to be easy. His head swirled with emotions. “O-our secret room. Can we go there?” He asked softly. He knew everything would be alright eventually, but right now? Right now he needed Aaron who he knew would be there just like Xaie was there for him when he lost Jacob. In the storage room it was just them, like always.

Aaron nodded and quickly took Xavier back to the castle and headed towards their special secret room. He held Xavier close to him the entire time. Xavier was there for him when he had lost Jacob. Now, Aaron was determined to be there for Xavier as he stepped inside the storage room and closed the door behind him.

Xavier looked at Aaron as they entered the room. He felt his legs beginning to give out, as they entered. Memories flowed through his mind; Cedric helping him with a potion assignment that had been irritating Xavier, Him and Cedric playing Wizard chess while Ryan watched. It was crazy how the little memories hurt. Xaie didn't trust people easily, in fact he trusted about four; Aaron, Hannah, Cedric, and Ryan. Now there were three that he trusted. He turned into Aaron's side as he allowed himself to cry, finally. "Thank you" He said softly. "I-I'm gonna miss him." He added.

All Aaron could do was just be there and be a comforting presence for Xavier. He continued to hold him close and rubbed his back gently. “I know, Xaie, I know,” he whispered. “He was a really good guy,” he said. “I know what it’s like to lose someone close to you, but I remember in my time of need a certain someone was always there for me,” he said. “So I’m going to be here for you every step of the way,” said Aaron.

Xavier heard every word. He felt the tears stream down his face as he let it all out. "He was, he really knew how to beat me at Wizard chess" Xavier choked out a laugh, the happy memory of Cedric beating him every time flashing in his mind. "I-I bet that's a pretty special guy to be there for you. And I know he appreciates you being there for him" He whispered, bad humor was a form of coping method for him, before fresh tears fell. "Thank you" He said softly, tucking closer into Aaron's arms.

Aaron smiled through the pain as Xavier made a light attempt at humor in his moment of distress and grief. “You know, perhaps Cedric and Jacob could be playing wizard chess up there right now. Jacob always loved wizard chess,” he mentioned softly. Aaron personally didn’t know how to play it but he knew Jacob was a master at the game. “I love you, Xavier, don’t you ever forget that,” he said softly as he gently shook Xavier’s shoulder.

He lifted his head and looked at Aaron, his eyes still glossy from tears. "I can picture them now" He said with a half laugh. He looked down for a moment before he looked back at Aaron, a small smile on his face. "I love you too Aaron, and that is something I'll never forget" He responded, his chocolate brown eyes still held unshed tears and the tear tracks down his cheeks were still wet. He sniffed lightly, looking into Aaron's mesmerizing hazel eyes.

Aaron smiled at the sweet thought. He wished Jacob and now Cedric the best in the afterlife. Two boys that had been taken from this Earth far too soon. Aaron looked into Xavier’s brown orbs and then closed his eyes, gently placing a hand on Xavier’s head and guiding it towards his chest as he pulled him in close. “You can let it all out, Xaie,” he said softly, content to just hold Xavier tightly for as long as he needed. His heart beat calmly within his chest and Aaron hoped it was a comforting sound to Xavier. He knew that listening to Xavier’s soft heart beat always made him feel at peace.

Xavier allowed himself to be pulled into Aaron's chest. He heard Aaron say he could let it out. And he did, he cried and cried, shoulders shaking lightly. He sobbed until he had no more tears. Finally, he felt himself beginning to relax, the calming sound of Aaron's heartbeat was peaceful. Xavier could feel himself growing exhausted from everything that had transpired. Xavier was having a tough time keeping himself awake and upright now. His body was drained from crying.
