Fandom The Untold Stories of Hogwarts - 1x1 HP RP

Xavier stood beside Aaron, waiting. He looked around before he saw Harry Potter coming and addressing all the students in the room. The first spell they'd be working on was going to be "Expelliarmus" and he had them divide into pairs. This spell was simple, but it was a good starting defense spell used to disarm the opponent of their weapon, in this case it would be their wands. Harry demonstrated it with Hermione before they dismissed them to work in pairs. Xavier naturally looked at Aaron. The hand motion, Harry had mentioned, was a slightly tilted '6' as well. "You ready to lose your wand Aaron?" Xavier said with a grin, facing him.

Eventually Harry Potter arrived and as one of the founders of the Dumbledore’s Army group, he was going to be running the meeting. Tonight they were going to work on a simple defensive spell, one they’d learned in second year- the disarming charm, Expelliaramus. While basic, it was essential to practice as the spell could be very helpful in many situations. Without a wand in their hand, a wizard or witch was powerless. They were then assigned to work in pairs and of course, Aaron looked immediately to his boyfriend and partnered up with him. Aaron grinned playfully as Xavier teased him. “Fat chance Hufflepuff!” Aaron taunted. “I’ll have that silly little wand of yours out of your hand in no time!” he proclaimed boldly with a playful yet arrogant smirk.

Xavier grinned at the challenge. "Oh yeah?" He asked. He shifted his stance, looking right at Aaron. "Expelliarmus!" He said, flicking his hand and aiming to remove Aaron's wand from his hand. The wand stayed right where it was, in his hand. Xavier was shocked, did he mess something up? He tried again, nothing. This wasn't funny, he'd always been good at spells. If Aaron knocked Xaie's wand out first try, he'd congratulate his boyfriend, but remain frustrated that it wasn't working for him.

Aaron wiggled his eyebrows and grinned cheekily. He then got into position and drew his wand. He heard Xavier suddenly shout the incantation and aim his wand towards the wand in his hand. Surprisingly, nothing happened. The spell had failed and Aaron’s wand remained in his hand. Seeing this, Aaron smirked and responded quickly with a spell of his own. “Expelliaramus!” he commanded as he pointed his wand at Xavier. Luckily for the Gryffindor, his spell worked on the first try. Xavier’s wand was launched out of his hand and thrown across the room. “Ha ha!” Aaron said triumphantly, grinning as he puffed out his chest. “You’ll have to be a bit quicker than that, Hufflepuff!” he teased, all in good fun.

Xavier huffed, looking at Aaron. "Oh you're gonna get it Gryffindor" He said playfully. Underneath he was frustrated, but it wasn't Aaron's fault. He retrieved his wand and retook his stance. "My turn" He said with a grin. "Expelliarmus!" And this time, it worked. Aaron's wand flew across the room this time. "Ha, told you!" He said with a laugh.

Aaron didn’t sense any underlying frustrations from Xavier so he definitely didn’t see anything wrong with joking around and having a little bit of friendly banter. He watched Xavier with a self satisfied smirk as he went to retrieve his wand on the floor. When he came back, Aaron made sure to grip his wand tightly as Xavier got into his stance and prepared to try again. Luckily for Xavier (and if he was being honest, Aaron was happy for his boyfriend too), the second attempt was successful. Aaron looked stunned as his wand flew out of his hand and across the room. He looked at Xavier and grinned, nodding. “Hmm, very impressive Hufflepuff,” he said, “Perhaps you’ll be formidable against a dark wizard,” said Aaron, “But for now you’ll always be second to me in greatness!” Aaron teased, smirking playfully once more. Of course, the Gryffindor was joking. He knew that in reality, when it came to magic and skills, Xavier had him beat. Ever since first year the Hufflepuff boy was always at the top of their class and excelled at using magic. Aaron was rather average in those regards as compared to Xavier’s above average performances throughout their years. But, Aaron was happy to take this small victory here. When it came to wands, Xavier beat him every time. The same couldn’t be said about broomstick flying or Quidditch- that was more of Aaron’s specialty.

Xavier shook his head, looking at his boyfriend with a smirk on his face. "I'd beat any dark wizard with my wand behind my back" He said. Xavier didn't need to boast, he actually tended to downplay his accomplishments, but when it came to spells and magic? Sometimes the teen couldn't help himself. "Oh, second to you? I guess that's pretty high praise" He smirked with a playful grin. Between the two, Xavier held the spells and charms aspect and Aaron could outfly him any day of the week. His frustration at not completing the spell before had melted away as the two boys bantered. "Now come on, get that wand of yours so I can knock it out of your hands again Gryffindor" He said with a laugh.

Aaron chuckled at Xavier’s witty banter back towards him. It was all in good fun and Aaron was very much enjoying it. He smiled and shook his head as he went over to where his wand had fallen and bent down to pick it up, returning back to Xavier. “Well since you seem so confident why don’t I challenge you to a race! A lap around the Quidditch pitch- on a broom!” Aaron jokingly suggested with a grin, raising his eyebrows up and down. He knew that Xavier wasn’t any good on a broom and, like he always said, much preferred to be on the ground than up in the air. Flying on a broom was where Aaron felt at home.

Xavier looked at Aaron as he grabbed his wand and walked back. He heard his words, and his face actually went a light shade of green before his mind caught up with him reminding him that it was a joke. "Not gonna happen. I'll challenge you on the ground to duel before that." He said with a smirk. He was so gonna get Aaron when this was done. He tried the spell again and cheered when Aaron's wand flew out of his hands again. He was back, a cocky grin on his face. "Who's the greatest one now?" He asked laughing.

Aaron rolled his eyes but maintained his amused grin. Suddenly, Xavier cast the disarming spell once more and again, Aaron’s wand was knocked out of his hand. “Oi! That’s unfair!” he complained. “Let’s see how cocky you are on a broom!” teased Aaron, knowing that Xavier would never take him up on his challenge. He didn’t think Xavier had been on a broom since their very last required flying lesson back in their first year. Of course, he was never going to force his boyfriend on a broom or into an uncomfortable situation.

Xavier had immediately backed down that day when Aaron brought up flying. He was never one for broomsticks and flying. In the next two and half months he had come to absolutely loathe DADA class, often times making fun of Umbridge with Aaron after classes. The first Quidditch match of the year had happened about a month after their first Dumbledore's Army meeting, and he'd cheered on Aaron that day and the Gryffindor team had pulled the win from Slytherin. Classes, aside from DADA, had been going great for Xavier, he'd kept Care of Magical Creatures and Ancient Runes as his electives and they were going great. He tried not to think of Cedric Diggory when he found himself stuck on some of the course material for Ancient Runes or Potions. He still missed the older Hufflepuff and liked to think he was watching over his house from the afterlife.

Dumbledore's Army had held their first review session near the beginning of December, and it had gone great. Harry Potter had been pleased at how well everyone was doing in learning the spells he'd given them. Of course, he and Aaron spent as much time as possible when they didn't have classes, which he was thankful for. Having Aaron as his boyfriend was all Xavier had wanted, and he was enjoying it. Eventually, Christmas had rolled around to the castle once again. This year was different, much different than the others. Not only was it Christmas, but it was also Aaron and Xavier's first anniversary since they'd become a couple last Christmas at the Ball.

Xavier stood in the bathroom, fixing his golden and black sweater, the little pin on his chest that matched the one he'd gotten Aaron their first year at Hogwarts. He had a present for Aaron too, it was settled on his bed and he planned on dropping it off at their secret room before making his way to the Great Hall for breakfast. He hoped the boy would like what he'd gotten him. It was a light red and gold scarf that Xavier had embroidered Aaron's last name and Quidditch number in a yellow gold color outlined with black. It was both their house colors all on one scarf. Xavier had picked up embroidery last summer when he'd been bored at home. He always brought the stuff in his trunk, and he finally knew what he really wanted to make. He grabbed the present, walked out of the common room, stopped at the secret room and tucked the present under a small artificial tree he'd found, before he made his way to the Great Hall.

Aaron’s comments about referencing a potential challenge involving Xavier getting on a broom seemed to shut the boy up for the night, and Aaron wore a satisfied grin on his face the rest of the night as the students of Dumbledore’s Army practiced their defensive spells. As for Dumbledore’s Army, Aaron was sure glad for it, as Professor Umbridge proved to be more and more incompetent and unbearable. Her Defense Against the Dark Arts lessons were awful and still as the semester went on, not once had they picked up a wand or learned a useful spell. Luckily, Harry Potter helped to guide Dumbledore’s Army meetings so that students did get some experience and practice with actual wand use. It was far more helpful than any of Umbridge’s terrible DADA lectures.

The year went on and of course, Aaron was excited for Quidditch season to be back in full swing again. The first match of the season was a classic rivalry match between Gryffindor and Slytherin and Aaron had helped lead his team to a close but decisive victory over the house of the serpent’s team. Aaron and his team enjoyed a period of Gryffindor dominance over the past few years, especially over Slytherin. The tides had turned and it was no longer Slytherin winning all the games and the cups. Needless to say, the Quidditch season started well and off with a bang for Aaron. Of course, he always had his trusty Hufflepuff boyfriend in the stands cheering him on each match, which always helped him to do better on the pitch.

Before everyone knew it, it was late December of 1995 and Christmas was right around the corner. December 25th, Christmas Day, approached fast and Aaron was excited for this year in particular. This Christmas would be the first he shared with Xavier as his boyfriend. In all other previous years, the boys hadn’t been dating. So, this was going to be a very special day- their first Christmas together as a couple. Aaron had prepared a gift a few weeks in advance that he hoped Xavier would really like. He was a bit nervous that his gift would be insignificant, too small, or too simple, but Aaron definitely put his heart into it. For their first Christmas together dating, Aaron was going to get Xavier a very special customized locket.

Aaron had gotten a golden locket specially customized for him and his boyfriend. It was two necklaces, each in the shape of half of a heart. One half had the letter X on it for Xavier’s name, and the other had the letter A on it for Aaron. Perhaps it was a cheesy and cliche gift, but Aaron hoped that his boyfriend would like it and want to wear the matching necklaces to show their love for each other. Aaron took a deep breath as he hid the case in which the necklaces were in under his robes after getting dressed that morning. Out of an odd sense of obligation, Aaron walked over to the bed that used to be Jacob Cromwell’s and smiled fondly, looking up at the sky. “Merry Christmas, Jacob,” he whispered quietly. Then, he was off on his way to the Great Hall, his heart pounding as he wondered how Xavier would react to his gift he had for him.

Before getting to the Great Hall though, Aaron made a quick stop at their secret little storage room that had still gone undiscovered by anyone else but them. He slipped into the room and placed the case under the small tree that Xavier had found for them earlier in the week. Aaron couldn’t help but smile as he saw something wrapped up already under the tree, which meant that Xavier had been here and of course, that he had gotten him something for Christmas. He couldn’t wait to see what it was. Aaron quickly left the secret room and headed to the Great Hall in search of his boyfriend and a good filling meal.

Xavier had entered the Great Hall, making his way to the Hufflepuff table. Xavier was too excited to see Aaron that he didn't even sit yet. He was too busy looking for Aaron. The boy was so excited for this Christmas. This was their first Christmas together and he wasn't even sure if he'd be able to eat. He hoped that the scarf he'd embroidered for his boyfriend, Aaron would like. He finally noticed the taller teen entering the Great Hall, and Xavier felt a wide smile cross his face. "Aaron!" He called, taking a few steps away from the table and towards his Gryffindor boyfriend. His worries went away as he approached Aaron, giving him a tight hug, and pressing a kiss on the boys cheek, blushing as he did so. "Merry Christmas and Happy Anniversary mate" He said, looking at those hazel eyes.

Aaron’s day instantly brightened as he saw Xavier. He smiled as he went over to Xavier at the Hufflepuff table and sat down next to him, blushing as he received a hug and a kiss from his boyfriend. “Morning Xaie, merry Christmas! Oh and of course happy anniversary too,” he said with a chuckle. “I’m happy to see ya,” he said as he looked passionately into Xavier’s brown eyes. Aaron gently reached a hand up to caress and brush Xavier’s bangs to the side. He couldn’t help but swell with joy in his heart as he touched those adorable bangs of his.

Xavier smiled at Aaron, his eyes locking onto Aaron's hazel ones. He blushed as Aaron not only caressed but he brushed Xaie's bangs to one side. He loved it when Aaron touched his hair, either moving the bangs to the side or running his hands through it. It was so peaceful and comforting. He had to break away from those eyes, but he slid so they were touching. He grabbed some food, his stomach growling at him. "I'm happy to see you too" He said softly, looking back at Aaron after he'd filled his plate. He was so excited to give Aaron his present, he didn't realize he'd started eating faster than normal. Which was odd for Xaie because he was usually the slower eater, preferring to take his time with whichever meal they were having.

Aaron would’ve stayed staring at Xavier and gently touching his hair for the whole day if it wasn’t for the sensation of hunger in his empty stomach. He turned around to get a plate and load it with something tasty for breakfast. As Aaron ate, he noticed that Xavier was eating at a faster pace than was typical of him. Usually, Aaron was the faster eater; normally shoveling down his food and being reminded by Xavier to slow it down. Aaron chuckled and grinned. “Excited about something?” he asked. “You never eat that fast,” he commented.

Xavier blinked as he heard Aaron's voice. Shaking his head, he realized he'd been eating faster. "Um, I'm just really hungry" He said, a little white lie never hurt, even though he was sure Aaron would see through him. He slowed down his eating with a blush on his cheeks. "I'm just happy, that's all." He said, which was the truth. Out of all five Christmases that they'd had, this one tied with fourth year on the best Christmas of his life list. He blushed more as he ate more to his normal pace instead.

Aaron just laughed at Xavier’s response. “Well, I can’t complain about you being happy,” he said with a soft smile. “When you’re happy, I’m happy mate,” he told him. “Just wouldn’t want you to choke, that’s all,” he said quietly with a sweet tone to his voice. The boys eventually ate and finished their breakfasts. Once Aaron had washed down the last of his meal with some orange juice, he looked over at Xavier with a grin.

Xavier had smiled, appreciating the kind words from his boyfriend. As he finished his breakfast, he matched Aaron's look with his own grin. "Secret room?" He asked, standing from the table. He held out his hand to Aaron with a smile. He was so excited to give Aaron his present that he would have to force himself to walk slower unlike the pace he wanted to set, which was a dead sprint to the room. He also had a song he'd heard this summer that he wanted to share with Aaron. It was a simple song, but it was beautiful and every time he looked into Aaron's eyes, he was reminded of it.

“Of course,” said Aaron as Xavier asked if they should head to their secret room. Aaron couldn’t wait to give his special gift to someone he felt was the most special person in the world. Aaron smiled and took Xavier’s hand as they got up and exited the Great Hall, walking to the storage room. Aaron’s heart beat excitedly and nervously as they reached their secret room and the two went inside, Aaron closing the door behind them.

Xavier entered the secret room with Aaron, as the other lad shut the door. He saw another present set beside his for Aaron and he smiled. He looked over at Aaron, a blush on his face. "Did you want to go first or?" He asked, he didn't want to presume that Aaron would want to go first or that he'd want Xavier to go first.

“Why don’t you go first?” Aaron suggested with a gentle smile. “I’m much too excited to wait,” he laughed. He looked over to the small and humble tree Xavier had put in the room and at the gift from Xavier.

Xavier was secretly overjoyed to go first, and he was sure it showed a little bit. He walked over to the little tree and grabbed the box. He walked back over to Aaron and smiled. "Here, I hope you like it" He said softly, handing the boxed scarf over to his boyfriend.

Aaron grinned as he watched Xavier go grab his gift from under the tree and happily took it as it was handed to him. “Oh shush you, I’m sure I’ll love it,” he chuckled as he began to open the box. Once Aaron had opened the box, he peered inside and saw his present- a Gryffindor red and gold colored scarf. But this wasn’t just any scarf. Aaron had his school issued Gryffindor scarf that he often wore in the colder weather. This was different- this was special. There was something unique about this scarf.

First off, Aaron could tell that this had been embroidered and created by hand with love and care. His hazel eyes widened and his mouth hung open in awe as he pulled the scarf out of the box and admired it in its entirety. Along with the red and gold colors of Gryffindor were also the yellow and black colors of Hufflepuff creatively intertwined. Aaron could clearly read his last name, “HOSKINS,” stitched into the scarf. Next to that was the number he wore for Quidditch, 17. Aaron’s heart swelled with joy as a great big smile appeared on his face. It was an extremely thoughtful gift and Aaron loved it.

“Bloody hell Xavier y- you went above and beyond! You shouldn’t have- really!” Aaron said as he looked at the scarf a bit more. “This is amazing! What did I do to get so lucky with you? I absolutely love it!” Aaron said, quickly throwing the box to the floor, slinging the scarf over his shoulder, and moving in to give his boyfriend a quick hug followed by a big kiss right on Xavier’s lips. “Good thing you spelled my last name right otherwise you’d have to make the thing all over again!” Aaron chuckled, making a light joke.

Xavier had been nervous waiting to see what his boyfriend thought of the scarf. When Aaron asked how he got so lucky, Xavier laughed softly. He was the lucky one. His heart swelled in joy as he watched Aaron through the scarf on immediately before he received a hug and a kiss from his boyfriend. "I'm really glad you love it. And I only messed up your last name once. That required another trip to get more fabric" He admitted, rubbing the back of his neck. He was thrilled that Aaron had loved the scarf he'd made him. It was perfect for the teen.
