Fantasy The Underground

Sisceal shuddered again, but was very much relieved to finally have her off of his lap. These creeps really freaked him out. Particularly the one with the back of torture devices.... "Leave him alone!! Please!" He begged as soon as he heard the drill start up. "You aren't going to get a single bit of information!"

@Beowulf @zCrookedz @Aridis @rosamortelle

"I feel the same...I can sense it in the air." He sighed heavily. "Even my boss is worried...and he's a Duke of Hell... He says that things are starting to get a little more tense than usual. Not only between humans and fae, but between factions of fae as well..if the king doesn't do something quick it could escalate."

@IceQueen

The Wraith's heart was really going crazy now. He was pretty sure that he was going to die of a heart attack before Conner even touched him. This was just getting worse and worse by the moment. Atlas could work with pale shadows; but it was actually pretty painful. In the time that he spent in pale shadows, there was always a continuous feeling of being burned alive while, at the same time, being frozen to death. The realm was agonizing in two ways, and he could've sworn that it was trying to destroy him. Which was why the teenager tried to avoid them at all costs; especially when he was so far from his last meal--.

A soul. He needed a soul.

The sooner he consumed one, the easier it would be to ditch these freaks. He would be stronger, and faster, and could overall use his powers a lot easier. However, there was a small problem. He doubted that any of the members would allow him the time. Even if Atlas attacked one of them, the other two would easily dispose of him. And if he didn't, he would have to figure out a way to get away with the reserves of magic he had left.

And then came the actual pain.

The Wraith bit his lip, and did his best to keep the roaring scream from ripping out of his throat. He succeeded, more or less. But a faint whimper still managed to slip past his defenses.

@zCrookedz @Beowulf @rosamortelle @Axel1313

Silver nodded and she slowly looked at her watch. "You should be getting home soon. I would expect that your boss will want you bright and early tomorrow. Besides, you need rest to get the alcohol out of you."

@Axel1313

Lucas nodded and lifted his empty tankard towards the Dwarf.

"Spoken like a true dwarf good sir."

As he lowered the mug, the bar maid came back over with a large serving platter with 4 more tankards on it. She switched out the tankards for the empty one, giving each of them two tankards before turning and shuffling off to take care of another table.

Lucas picked up one of the tankards and downed a few swings of the concoction before returning it to the table. He looked over the bar as the mermaids dashed back and forth across their pool refilling patrons, fixing orders, and every now and then one of them would disappear below the pool and into the opening beneath them. Lucas could only imagine that the pool dropped down into the ocean below and that they were using the cold waters to keep special drinks chilled.

As his gaze returned to the dwarf Lucas hummed to himself.

"Its interesting that tonight I should run into you Monseir Nain. You see I don't run into many dwarve's, surprising seeing as we are in The Underground. But I have come into need of something special made, and I have always heard that dwarven steel is some of the best in the world."

Lucas lifted the tankard and finished off the brew, not wanting the dwarf to become bored with the sudden shift in conversational material. placing another empty tankard on the table, he smiled to his drinking companion with his devilish smile.

"That is of course if feel up to the challenge."

@Saruwatari Tomohisa

Black watched as Connor got the Wraith settled in and he began his work. He watched as the boys face contorted for a second, and then came the screaming from behind.

Black wasted no time, he wheeled around and slammed his fist into the mans cheek. His face never changed as he drew in another draw from his cigarette and knelt down beside the man he had punched. He grabbed a hand full of his hair and held his face up so he could watch Connor and the Wraith. Black pulled his smoke out of his lips and leaned in close to the man.

"Now, I know you didn't get that vampire bite up here, because the only vampire that's was within 50 miles of this city, I killed less than an hour ago. So, you got it from a different vampire. That how i know the Wraith is lying, and that's how I know the two of you came from the Underground. Now you can stop what is happening to your friend there if you tell us where the entrance you used is."

Black gave the mans head a toss to the side and calmly walked over towards Connor and the Wraith.

He reached into his pocket and retrieved a rag he had grabbed from the kitchen. Standing behind the Wraith, Black brought the rag up to his mouth and pulled it around to rest it in the Wraiths teeth. He tied it behind his head and took a step back, the end of his cigarette flaring up as he took another drag from it.

@Aridis @Axel1313 @Beowulf

Threlm who had been drinking with him gulp for gulp nearly choked on his drink at this mans remark about Dwarven steel being some of the best around and if he was up to the challenge. "Look here lad-" He pointed at the man. "Dwarven steel is the best steel. And I am the main forger in the Underground. You requesting for something special is going to cost you a little extra. And it already isn't cheap for my steel." Some of the words were slurred but they were all understandable, though it didn't help that his thick dwarven accent was already hard to understand. Threlm then picked up the other fresh pint and took one big gulp out of it before putting it back down onto the table and looking back at the man.

@zCrookedz

"Oh, I got a reaction." Connor said excitedly, taking the drill away. "Now let's see what happens when..." And with that, he shoved the drill into another part of the way, quickly passing the skin and beginning on the bone. "You'll be singing like a bird in no time." he said cheerily, a small smile just turning the corners of his mouth up. Next he would break each digit on his fingers, that'll probably work wonders. And he'd still be able to walk.

(@zCrookedz @Adel1313 @rosamortelle @Aridis)

Sisceal's head snapped to the side sharply as the man's fist made contact with his cheek. Causing his face to contort from the pain and his head to spin. He blinked a few times before glaring at him. "You're going to get no information from us." He spat. His eyes darting to Alex as the drill was driven into his leg again. "We know nothing. And as for this so called vampire bite. I already told you it was just a tattoo, a drunken mistake and nothing more. Even if it was it only proves how wrong you are. There could be a second vampire in this city right under your nose."

@zCrookedz @Beowulf @Aridis

At that, Connor perked up. "Did he just admit to being a vampire?" he said, momentarily forgetting the Wraith. "Oh, clever. You're probably one of the smarter vampires out there. Well, guess I have some branding to do once I'm finished with our dear friend the Wraith here." That said, he casually paws through his bag of toys meant for torturing. "Ah, here we are. Some silver. Now we don't have to heat anything up. Let's call this a drunken mistake as well."

Lucas's smile widened listening to the dwarf. He was obviously confident in his craft, but then again, what dwarf wasn't. What Lucas liked the most was how the dwarf was straight to the point.

Lucas slipped his hand into his pocket and retrieved a hand full of gold coins and placed them on the table to pay for the drinks and whatever else they were able to consume.

"Payment will not be a problem. What will be the problem, is the forged item itself. You see I can make totems and amulets as much as I want. One of the many benefits to having access to the darker forces in this world. What I can't make myself, is a strong enough container."

Lucas picked up the second of the two mugs that the bar maid had brought and brought it to his lips. He watched for the dwarf's reaction to forging something a little more than a weapon. After a quick swig, Lucas set it down and gazed across the bar. the drink was beginning to make Lucas's mind buzz with excitement, or it could have been the prospect of his new friend. Lucas began to laugh out loud, placing a hand on his abdomen as he wiped a tear from his eye and looked back at the dwarf.

"I do apologize Monsieur, but we've been sitting here drinking and talking business, and I don't even know your name."

@Saruwatari Tomohisa

The mans spirit was commendable. Even at the sight of his friend being tortured, and he himself being kicked around, he still had enough spirit to continue to try and convince Black and Conner that they were telling the truth.

What made Black stop, was what the man said next. Another vampire that Black didn't know about.

Blacks motion was quick, almost to quick to follow. He grabbed the pack off his back and with a series of click and whirring of gears his sniper rifle was present, with the barrel pressed firmly up against the mans temple. He grabbed the lever and gave it a swift click loading a round into the chamber.

"Well, if you are a vampire, I guess I need to do my job now don't eye. I think a silver bullet from this range might make more than your head explode."

@Axel1313 @Beowulf

"I...I never said I was a vampire!" At the sight of the rifle at his head his tone had suddenly become nervous. "I only asked how do you know there's not another?" He shifted uncomfortably. Twisting his feet around part of the tarp they had laid down and tugging at it. It slipped off of the couch and exposed some of the carpet underneath to the bloodshed now...maybe this would provide a distraction? He hoped....it was a long shot, but worth it to tear their attention away from this torture session. "I mean...you're obviously terrible at your job if I got attacked. You don't know your information."

@zCrookedz @rosamortelle @Beowulf @Aridis

"My boss is out of town for a while, so I've got nothing to worry about except a small list of chores. Feed the cat, water the plants, watch after the penthouse." He shrugged. "At least it gives me a pretty nice place to live for a while. Better than the cramped place that I have or the streets."

@IceQueen

Tears were starting to flow freely due to the immense pain he was in. On top of his knee now being extremely fucked up, his bottom lip was bleeding. That was his own fault. Still, it didn't necessarily mean that extra agony was a good thing. Especially since the rag that had been used to keep him quiet was now rubbing up against the wound.

All of his senses were working on overdrive because of the danger he was currently in. So, Atlas could easily hear and process every word that was being said. And, absolutely none of it he liked. Even though the guy was just trying to help, the Wraith desperately wanted to yell at Sisceal for not staying quiet and keeping the attention away from himself. He wanted to punch Camile for getting them into this. He wanted to throw Connor out of a window for putting the human in even further danger. And then there was Black.

Black he wanted to tear to shreds.

The man had hit Sisceal, and then had put a gun to his head. He didn't even consider the fact that the Priest was purely human. The moment he got the idea that Sisceal was a vampire, he suddenly became very trigger happy. Atlas had promised to get his new friend home safely. He had made that commitment, and was planning on sticking with it to the end. No matter what. And, Black was currently threatening to prevent him from doing that.

The room seemed to get exceptionally darker at that very moment. If anyone cared to look in his direction, they would be able to see that the Wraith's irises had changed from their usual golden hue. They were now a bright, glowing crimson; and they were stationed right on the man with the gun. Pale shadows were no longer a concern to Atlas. They could get brighter, for all he cared. Because was long as they even had the slightest shade, that would be enough for him. Shifting his foot to the best of his ability, the boy made it so that it touched the shadow under the chair; which was currently the darkest he could find.

Atlas willed it to extend out towards Black; and eventually mix with the one that he made. And, even though it was only a 2D silhouette, he still could do a lot of damage. The boy's tendril of darkness wrapped itself around Black's shadow; and began to constrict it. Starting from the feet, and ending at the man's neck, he silently threatened to pop his head right off. Since he couldn't exactly talk with the gag over his mouth, he just growled.

@zCrookedz @Beowulf @rosamortelle @Axel1313

Silver groaned at the mention of watching a penthouse. "Man, I WISH I had your job. I am stuck in this crummy and small apartment that I can hardly pay rent for." She mumbled, shaking her head. "Really though, you need to get out of the street before you become to drunk to move." She pointed out.

@Axel1313

Threlm had a straight face or as straight a fave you can have while drunk when he was talking about making a container. A thiusand questions buzed through his mind what could he lossibly want to contain. But that wasn't for him to know. And then he said something that made him laugh loudly. "That is true my friend. My name, is Threlm Celcus. What is yours lad. And if I may ask so I know how big this container should be what is it you want to contain?" Threlm then gave off a more serious look.

@zCrookedz

Blacks eyes went wide as the man's words echoed in his head for a moment. If there was one thing in this world that Black prided himself on, it was his job. And he wasn't about the let some Vampire whelp tell him he was bad at it.

"Oooooh that was so not a good answer..." He hissed as he squeezed the trigger ever so slowly.

Suddenly Black stopped. He felt the cold black sensation of the shadow tightening around his body. His finger poised on the trigger still, but the constriction was drawing his attention away momentarily.

Black slowly moved his head around as his body was pinned, and saw where the boy had a grip on his shadow. Black didn't exactly struggle, he knew that it would only make things worse

"Damn.....Conner....quit playing.....get this bastard....off me..."

Black turned back to the man he had hit and still had the gun pointed at. Seeing him before him, he began to chuckle through the squeezing.

"Awfully....risky.....I still....could kill..him."

@Aridis @Axel1313 @Beowulf @rosamortelle

Lucas raised his half full tankard as the Dwarf gave him his name.

"Lucas Lafluer, Resident Witch Doctor of The Underground."

With the mans questions hanging in the air, Lucas took another long draft from his tankard and set the emptied mug on the table. He slid one arm inside of another and sat back in the chair.

"The container is not bigger than a pendant. The contents of said pendant are slightly larger. But that is all I am willing to divulge to a civilian unfortunately."

Lucas watched as a few of the patrons got up and headed for the door to the bar. As they opened it, a breeze off the docks snuck in and brushed past Lucas for a moment. Lucas closed his eyes for a moment, his face becoming sterner. As the door shut, Lucas looked up and returned to his chipper demeanor. He held up another two fingers in the air and signaled for the bar maid to bring them another two rounds.

"A essence rides on the black nights breeze Monsieur Threlm. As residence of The Underground, it is our expected duty to hold back the tide that is rushing towards us. That is what I plan on doing, with your help along with a few others."

The maid came over with another platter of drinks and switched them out. This time however, Lucas lifted one of his mugs to the girl and wrapped an arm around her waist after she took it. Lucas raised his other tankard up to eye level with a grin.

"But for tonight, we enjoy our drink and will save the details of my order for the morrow."

The maid smiled as Lucas began to down his drink and she quickly followed suit.

@Saruwatari Tomohisa

"Oh, yes, terribly sorry." Connor said before driving the drill once more into the Wraith's knee. "That's probably the last time I can do that, to this knee anyway. But don't you worry, You still have ten fingers and ten toes I can break. Let's start with your left hand. Your not a leftie, are you? Oh well, that doesn't matter to much." As he spoke, he took out a nut cracker and walked behind the Wraith to get at his hands. "Now don't you move your hands, the sooner I start the sooner I'll be done." he said as he grabbed the wrist of the Wraith's left hand. "Let's see, which finger to start with.... Ah, I know." Picking the middle finger, he slips the nut cracker over the first digit and squeezes until he hears a satisfying snap. "There we go. That's the first one down. Another two and that's one finger done, another nine to go."

Sisceal shut his eyes tightly waiting for it to all go black at any moment as the trigger was pulled. Thankfully Alex was able to do something to prevent that for the time being. Taking in a quick, sharp breath, Sisceal suddenly raised his leg up and Spartan kicked the man in front of him to the best of his abilities...even if it meant toppling backwards with the chair his arms were strapped to.

@zCrookedz @Beowulf @Aridis @rosamortelle

"It's not as glorious as you think. All I get to do is use the livingroom, bathroom and kitchen. All else is forbidden unless the cat runs in there." He chuckled. "And why so worried now huh?" He grinned. "Unless I go to the bar again I'm not getting anymore drunk than I am now. "

@IceQueen

Silver huffed and rolled her eyes, glaring at him. "Oh. So you don't want kindness? Alright then, I guess I should just get up and leave you here." She grumbled, making like she was getting ready to leave.

@Axel1313

He was unprepared for the second assault on his leg. The gag over his mouth did little to muffle the agonized scream that escaped his throat. Atlas' concentration broke, and so did his hold on Black. He had been more than prepared to snap the man's neck, or at least suffocate him, at any given moment. However, Conner's torture methods did the job to temporarily rob him of that opportunity.

Getting free was now the hardest thing on the list.

Altas struggled against the tape; wiggling his arms and good leg around as much as he could in order to loosen them a bit. He let out a small whimper or alike whenever he accidentally moved his injured knee, or his broken finger. While doing so, the Wraith pulled the same trick with Conner. Instead of threatening to kill him, however, he just tried to restrict the other's moment. It was easier to reach Conner's shadow, since it was closer. However, he would need to hurry. He needed to escape before he used up too much of his magic trying to defend himself.

There was still the matter of shadow traveling in order to get away from these freaks. And Atlas needed every drop of supernatural power that he could get. Ditching the Order wasn't going to be easy; especially if he planned to not expose the Underground in the process.

@zCrookedz @Beowulf @rosamortelle @Axel1313

"And time for the seco... Hm?" As Connor closed in to break the second digit, he felt something. A resistance of some sort. Figuring it was nothing, he continued with his task. "Now, this'll hurt a lot. I'm not going to lie. But it should hurt less if I don't, woops." He was about to say if he doesn't move the broken digit, which he did end up doing. But he got past it, and the nut cracker found it's way to the second digit. But for some reason, he couldn't break this bone, the resistance that he thought so little of before was keeping him from breaking that second bone, and he was starting to get fristrated because of it.

(@Aridis @Axel1313 @zCrookedz @rosamortelle)

Buras felt, something, close by. Keeping one eye on the boy, he looks for that something with the other. And when he spots it, he nearly drops his halberd. "The Forest Queen." he said quietly to himself. He had to tell the king, but at the same time had to make sure that the prince was safe. King, or prince? Bloody hell, when did he figure he would have to make decisions like this? But he came upon a decision. "Prince Vytas, get back to your father. If you beat me there I won't tell him anything." And with that, he set off at a speed only a hurry giant could get to.

(@Aridis @Axel1313)

The boy jumped at the sudden sound of the other's voice. Honestly? He had no idea that he was being followed. Which only lead to the conclusion of 'I really need to pay more attention to my surroundings.' Vytas made a little whining sound at the back of his throat when Buras told him he had to go back. He really didn't want to; there was absolutely nothing in the castle for him to do. He knew every inch of the places that he was allowed to visit, and even some of a few parts he was forbidden from entering. Whereas in the city, there was something new to do, and somewhere new to explore, every single day.

But then there was the whole father threat.

God knows how much trouble he'd be in if his dad found out.

After a moment of hesitation, Vytas made his decision. Although the other option was very, very tempting, the other won by a landslide. Refusing to rethink his decision and end up regretting every life choice he ever made, the Prince broke into a run. However, it wasn't in Buras' direction. Instead, the raven chose to go in the opposite direction; away from the giant and the castle.

(@Beowulf @Axel1313)

Black felt his body release from the grip of the shadow and sighed as he dropped his gun from Sisceals face. But the relief was very short lived, as suddenly he was sent stumbling backwards into the wall behind him. His gun dropped to the ground with a clack as Black coughed a few times from the air getting knocked from his lungs.

HE gave Sisceal a hatred stare as he pushed himself back up from the floor. He snatched up the rifle from the floor and pushed the button on the side of his gun which began to revert back to its carrying mode. Once it was placed back into his back, Black picked up his cigarette he had dropped during the struggle. The embers had gone out after being stepped on, and Black as a tad upset.

He reached into his coat and drew his snub nose once again, this time holding against the Wraiths head.

"Perhaps we have been doing this the wrong way Connor."

He turned his attention to the other man now. The sight of his bite mark and dried blood made his own boil.

"I'm beginning to grow tired of this game. Tell us what we want to know, or I will finish the Wraith and Connor can begin working on you next."

He reached with his thumb and pulled the lever back on the gun, the sound of the click carrying over the Wraiths wales of pain.

"No! No no no no. Okay! We'll tell you." He panicked as soon as they moved the gun over to Alex, but at the same time he had a plan. "Just...don't hurt him anymore okay? I....I'll lead you right to the place okay? I....I've seen where the entrance is...." He looked at them with fear and worry in his eyes, mostly feigned right now though. He was praying to God that this would work out...

@zCrookedz @Beowulf @Aridis

"Hold on! I never said that!" With a groan he pushed himself off of the ground. Far more steady on his feet than he was before. "All I'm saying is that I'm at least not getting any more drunk...I would like some kindness very much.."

@IceQueen

"Come now, we have very important business. You can explore the town later my lovelies." She spoke with voice like silk to the small fae flitting around her. They all gave a tiny sigh of disappointment before flying back to her and resting on her shoulders and in her hair. Without the slightest bit of hesitation she strode into the castle. The guards at the gates did not even dare move to stop her and attendants quickly rushed to tell the king of her visit.

@Beowulf

His wrists were raw and bloody within minutes. However, his constant struggling managed to come with a little bit of success. Atlas was a bit thankful for the blood in this event; it allowed him to slip his hand out of the bonds easier. The moment Black pointed the gun at his head, he reacted. Releasing Conner, the Wraith moved his shadow to the man with the weapon. Taking control, he guided the gun away from himself and towards one of the lights. From there, Atlas began the genocide of electrical lighting. Shooting one source after another, he slowly darkened the room. And as each light was eradicated, he got stronger. His hold on the shadows required less concentration and power. Once the lights were eradicated, he made his official escape.

Now having enough darkness to work with, Atlas was able to hold both Conner and Black practically. Pulling one hand free of the tape, he quickly undid the rest of the bindings; and tore the gag away from his mouth. To the best of his ability in the short time that he had to move around, the raven limped over to where Sisceal now lay. Basically collapsing onto the ground beside him -because kneeling ultimately failed and resulted in a ton of pain- he went to work on freeing the Priest as well. "Come on...we need to go." His voice, instead of coming out strong and confident like he was planning on, it was broken and kind of high pitched.

Clearing his throat, the boy tried to fix himself a bit. "And...If this ever happens again. I would appreciate it if you didn't cave just so my pathetic ass could live. I mean, thank you for caring but..." Yeah. The Underground was worth a lot more than he was. Atlas truly appreciated the attempt, but overall would never have forgiven Sisceal if he actually did sell out his home.
