Fantasy The Twelve Gatekeepers

Aquarius returned his blades to their leather casing, a light scoff escaping his lips when his sisters fled back to the High Palace and left the two be. His teal bangs hung over his face, the constant movement he had been in during the fight weighing down the longer ends in a light sheen of sweat. The slight change in physical characteristics have his eyes less light and more shading, making them seem much darker than they normally are. He was disappointed he had to hold his sisters in a position like that, turning his blades against his own allies was a tactic he preferred not to adopt, but they would not listen to him either way. Although his trust in Gemini had faltered slightly, he could not bring himself to treat him like an animal or prisoner and have him paralyzed for detainment.
"Don't worry about it, Gem. They'll get over it soon enough. We've been siblings for eons, and quarrel constantly, I've grown rather accustomed to it." That had been a lie, one that could be easily read by Gemini, due to their many experiences together. Aquarius was one of mutual agreement, preferring to have a side that everyone could be happy with and enjoy, keeping the peace between them true, and coming to a fair decision. However, his earlier tactic was completely in his favor, and out of line. Threatening his siblings, was not something he was accustomed to. Far from it, in fact.


Aquarius' hand went to his own neck, craning it left and right to stretch the sore muscles he had obtained from being kicked around and pinned just earlier. "Perhaps it's best we go back to the High Palace, yes? Prove to the others that it was just a small lapse of inner demons getting to you. I'm sure others would be able to relate, especially those of us with more violent tendencies." He let out a light chuckle, along with a forced smile on his face. "I'm sure they're talking about this to Scorpio right about now, trying to convince them that you're at fault. Let's just hope he considers the fact that there was the larger matter of a few of us nearing rebellion (the fire zodiac plot, if that's still going to be in play sometime soon)."

Gemini shook his head, giving a weak and bitter smile. "You never could like to me, I can still see through your lies.. even as a demon.." He whispered, closing his eyes for a moment. His mind might be back but his body was still that of a demon, hence he had no wounds from the torture that happened to him. "If I do go back.. you'll need Cancer to heal be before I die" He pointed out before he jolted. He looked towards the portal, being able to sense malice up in the High Palace. 'I don't want them to fight...' He thought, his heart feeling heavy from being able to sense the fighting.


"My oh my.. your desires are stronger than your mental health, huh, Gemini?" Came a chuckle from behind Gemini's head. Lucifer was leaning over him while standing at his head. "You want something from me, don't you?" The devil said, crouching beside him and licking his lips with a smile. "So, lets see if you can make a deal with the devil" He chuckled. "L-Let me go back... I-I want to be myself and y-you have to leave Zodiacs alone for a long time.. don't possess anyone, at least..." He whispered and Lucifer pursed his lips, clasping his hands together. "Alright! I'll grant you this deal but in return, you can't reveal to them anything specific about my plans, does that seem fair?" He asked and Gemini nodded. "Feel free to try and stop be if your judgement goes smoothly" He chuckled before he cupped the back of Gemini's head and lifted it up to kiss him before he rested it back down and looked at Aqua, smirking. "See you around, water boy" He said and vanished in a puff of black smoke again.

Abe, after reincarnating into a new crow, flew to him and perched on his shoulder. Scorpio, still blood still boiling from the adrenalin the fight brought him, wasted no more time lingering around the palace and jumped straight into hell with the intention of hunting Aries down to continue with the fight until the either of them die at the other's hand, preferably Aries at his. After a while of blindly running through every levels of hell, cutting down monsters and the like on the way, he ran into Gemini and had to stop to register what was happening before him.


Gemini was standing with Lucifer behind him and they must have been discussing something. The only thing Scorpio managed to catch was the details of Satan's so called deal and after that, The Devil was gone, leaving Gemini to stand behind like a lifeless doll. He stepped into the room, his steps slow and deliberate. He stopped in front of Gemini and snarled "What was that, Gem? Is being possessed and tortured not enough to make you see how dangerous it is to be involved with Satan?" Disregarding Gemini's pained expression altogether, he placed the blade of his scythe right next to Gemini's throat "Tell me what kind is Satan planning? What have you traded with him?"

Ok, a few notes on what the scene really looked like xD Aqua is standing a bit away from Gemini who is laying down with Lucifer crouched over him and kissing him before he vanished. Gemini doesn't look like a lifeless doll, just a broken Gemini)

Capricorn unequipped her weapon again, when everything seemed to go back to normal. She was disappointed by herself, she hadn't have any chance to help them, so she wanted to at least help them now, but again, she didn't know how. So she simply followed the others into the High Palace.

No stopping them now, might as well we face that problem now and try to resolve it as soon as possible. If not, then we're down a few zodiacs." He hated the idea of losing a few of his siblings, but Scorpio was intent on trying to resolve the situation his way, and so was Aries.


He began to make his way back to the portal to the High Palace, expecting Gemini to follow. Instead, he stopped abruptly and turned to see Lucifer hovering over Gemini. Aquarius held an indifferent expression on his face, knowing that if he were to make a wrong move towards the demon lord it would be practically suicide. Instead, he stood unmoving, glaring the invader down until he was finished making a deal with Gemini. The little farewell Lucifer gave Aquarius was only responded with a scoff, meant more towards his distaste of the nickname rather than the solution they had come to. Lucifer hadn't come to fight, and Gemini had come to a generally peaceful solution, and that was all Aquarius needed to be kept satisfied. When the demon vanished, his gaze fell back onto Gemini. His head nodded towards the portal a few meters ahead of them, along with a short and subtle "Let's go."

Scorpio looked around and finally noticed Aquarius for the first time. His eyes narrowed "You have been here all along, Aqua? I suppose you do know what has happened between Gemini and Satan? Isn't this wonderful..." He then turned back to Gemini and announced "You will follow me back to The High Palace, Gem. You have a lot to answer to. Right now, I have one charge ready to be brought against you. Pray to God that Libra can see something good out of you after all that has happened." He suddenly shook his head midway "You know what? I don't think even Libra can handle this case. You will answer to or Father himself. That is, if Satan was wrong about God not being involved with us anymore." Then directed at Aquarius, he said "Since you are a witness, you will have to return to The High Palace as well."


Before they disappeared, Scorpio gave an instruction to Abe "Send out the call to every Gatekeeper to return to The High Palace. They have no time to waste." After Abe had flown off, Scorpio grabbed both Gemini and Aquarius to appear back at the palace.

He gave a tiny nod to Aqua and was going to try and stand up but a scythe was held to his neck and he froze. Why did Scorpio have to come at the most conclusion-ready times ever?! "W-wait, Scorpio don't--" He tried to stop Scorpio from dragging him through the portal, he knew the second he would set foot into the High Palace, his demon appearance would vanish and he would be left with most likely fatal injuries pretty much everywhere.


And that's just what happened. The second he was pulled through the portal, still being held by Scorpio, the 'goth' appearance by Aqua's words started to fade away in black smoke, revealing the rather horrifying sight of Gemini's actual body. There were deep whip wounds in his back, his ribs were broken and his fingers as well while he still had shackles around his hands and feet. He had cuts and bruises everywhere and his fingers and toes had blood all over them. They were cut off again and again after Lucifer took it upon himself to heal Gemini after they were all cut off to be able to do it all over again.


He collapsed onto the ground when the demonic appearance faded away completely, leaving Gemini to bleed out onto the ground.

"And if I were to defy him he'd.. what? Run back to father and complain about my disobedience, perhaps declare another war against me like he has already done to our poor siblings." He loved teasing his siblings, goading Scorpio only amused him further. "No wonder I've always considered you the spoiled brat."


His hands were tucked into his pockets, indifferent about Scorpio's judgement of Gemini's or his own actions that had conspired in these past few hours. Their ideals conflicted after all, Scorpio having a large distaste for humans (I think I remember this from the earlier argument, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though) while Aquarius usually took his leisure time in the human realm.


He was however, surprised Scorpio would drag Gemini back into the High Palace. Aquarius didn't react, knowing that Scorpio had some intent in mind, and would most likely have Cancer waiting to deliver some quick treatment to relieve Gemini of his more fatal injuries. Scorpio did have his mind set on a trial after all; and if anything the humans predicted was accurate, Scorpio would have his mind set on getting what he wanted done.

She figured Gemini would be tried right about now, and she'd love to go to that to testify, but.. the others probably wouldn't have her if she did that. Hmmm who wouldn't chop off her head the moment they saw her? Probably Pisces... definitely not Scorpio... She pursed her lips and looked up, in the direction she generally assumed the palace to be. Tough decisions...

Leo woke up, stretched, and attempted to decide on what do. She figured Gemini would be tried right about now, and she'd love to go to that to testify, but.. the others probably wouldn't have her if she did that. Hmmm who wouldn't chop off her head the moment they saw her? Probably Pisces... definitely not Scorpio... She pursed her lips and looked up, in the direction she generally assumed the palace to be. Tough decisions...

Father won't be happy if she doesn't show up at a judgement in front of him probably o3o Leo, don't make the wrong decisions! You may be a Fire but hell xD )

Right, yes... she was involved with this... it would be dumb not to show up to a hearing that involved her, after all. Yawning lazily, she made her way back to the palace as fast as she felt like going, which considering the situation, wasn't all that fast. She did make it in time, however just barely.

Her moon-y gaze landed on Gemini as she came to a stop just in front of the portal, in the High Palace. There were talks of a trial for Gemini, though how could there be one if the boy was in that condition? It looked quite serious, and Pisces would feel pressure in her chest. She shook off this uncomfortable feeling and approached, gliding over with feigned confidence. Kneeling down next to Gemini, she would recall the times she had seen Cancer heal, and while she wasn't sure of his exact methods, she would try to channel the same energy in what she was about to do.


To her fingertips, she summoned water bubbles, and waved her hands slowly over Gemini's body. The bubbles seemed to vibrate, and if one stared for two long one might swear to hear a low mumbling sound. She did this to get rid of the more superficial cuts, as well as small amounts of blood that could hinder her precision. Go faster! She thought to herself. Pisces couldn't waste time.


She now summoned actual water from her fingertips, warm, to soothe him as the water would go into his wounds. She put as much of her own spiritual energy into the healing as possible, and telepathically, she would try to reach him and encourage him to respond to her treatment. At this point, Pisces' eyes were vacant, as she tried to focus on Gemini, only Gemini, and his recovery.

Gemini had his eyes closed but he was conscious but too weak to speak or open his eyes or do anything besides breathing heavily and in pain. He did hear Pisces and it was good to know a Zodiac still found it in themselves to try and save his life, it made his chest feel lighter but heavy with guilt at the same time. He let his mind and battered body relax and accept the treatment. He didn't really care about the linked together chains and shackles around his wrists and ankles that didn't vanish from when he was tortured.

Aquarius stood away from the two, watching Pisces delve into her magic to try and rescue Gemini from his painful and agonizing injuries. He had little magic experience himself, being more of the down-to-earth realistic types himself. His teal eyes scanned over the scene, quietly observing from a few feet away just how the magic took action. His arms were crossed over his chest, trying to maintain the composure of an indifferent individual in the situation, but unable to suppress the inner innovator that dwelled within him.


If he only had the ability to heal, he would have healed Gemini himself and spared his friend the suffering. But he had no experience, no information, and not the slightest clue on how to begin, which was why his intention relied on the cooperation of Cancer. If only their trip had not been interrupted by Scorpio and his directive personality, it might have gone smoothly and in Aquarius' favor.

Enough time had passed to allow Ra to heal all of his injuries and he was up running around Aries like an excited puppy. She looked down at him made an internal promise to not allow any harm to come to him. "You may be my war pet, but you're also my greatest pal Ra. At least you won't turn your back on me like the others." Ra suddenly crouched down low with his fangs bared at the sound of an annoying squawking sound. Aries listened to the message and yawned loudly before flipping the bird off once it left. "What the hell? Why am I being summoned to something pretty irrelevant to me." Aries really saw no point in attending and was well known for skipping out on meetings. "If God wants me to attend, he can bring his sorry ass down here to get me," Aries reclined back on the throne located in one of her shrines as she ate the fruit that her followers left behind. She sent Ra back to his hidden home in Hell to enjoy time with his own little family,

Pisces could sense that Gemini was indeed responding positively. She suppressed feelings of relief though, not wanting to risk breaking concentration.


Now she was going to try something else. From her fingertips she would dispense several large dew drops and place them on key parts of Gemini's body, so that hopefully more of his pain would be alleviated, as well as lessening his damage. Though Pisces wanted to ignore any self-doubt, she definitely couldn't wait for Cancer to arrive.

Capricorn stood there, observing Pisces who was healing Gemini. She bit her bottom lip, she was sure it hurt, judging by his heavy breathing.


She walked towards the window, resting her crossed arms on the windowsill leaning slightly out of the window. She sighed heavily before taking a deep breath. This day had been off to a rough start and the fights between the signs still didn't seem to be settled.

Aquarius' eyes constantly scanned the area around them, being the ever-observant zodiac he had always been. In this state of mind of his, he did notice the presence of Capricorn in her own state of observance. She wandered off after a short amount of time, his own curiosity leading him to follow for multiple reasons. One, because she had been the only witness to the fight for Gemini in the underworld; two, because he had quite the story to tell her about the body double he had found of her in the human world.


He approached her silently from behind since she seemed intent on watching whatever was outside the window. His arms had been uncrossed from his chest as soon as he begun to follow her, now open in front of him in a position like he was going to grab her. In a quick motion his hands flew forward and lightly grabbed at her waist, along with him muttering a "Boo!" in a loud whisper (contradicting itself, I know. Think of a whisper that is too loud to actually be quiet ).
