Nate nodded. "I think there is one, there should be an underground system that leads a little ways out from the inn...I hope it still works, it's pretty old." He explains to her and points to a small symbol on the floor, it was like some sort of sigil. He carried Natallia over to it with him assuming Paula would follow and chanted a few words to himself and a hatch that seemed like it was always there appeared. "Heh...it actually worked. Let's go." Nate led the way

With the faint sounds of a towering dragon wreaking havock outside, Paula followed Nate into the underground system. She had regained a good amount of her strength now and was grateful to have survived the ordeal of the burning building. "Okay, first things first. Now that we're safe we need to come up with a plan. I'm assuming the dragon from before has returned, the way I see it we do one of two things: either we expend our efforts trying to awake Natallia with some kind of spell so we can back the dragon up at full strength. Or we leave her here in a safe place and return to the fray without her immediately. Of course I'm assuming there is an alternate way out of this underground complex. The way we entered is probably too dangerous to return to at the moment." Paula was rather worried about the whole situation. It appeared that nothing had gone to plan. She could only hope Vicky was transported away safely.

"I suggest we try to wake Natallia up, I have a spell that may do the trick but our chances would be maximised if you also had one. Do you?" She asked Nate, trying to temporarily take up the leadership role that Natallia held.

"Ah that's too bad." Vicky said in response, happy that she was able to make the girl laugh. Despite the circumstances, Vicky couldn't deny that something about the situation was to her liking. Perhaps the social aspect, perhaps the idea of not being locked up in a shop all day- Vicky didn't know. But she wasn't having the worst of times. "Thank you so much." Vicky said when Leia opened the door for her. The two had walked inside in such a hurry to escape the rain. The cabin was kind of bare, nothing much but what appeared to be a mattress and a fireplace with a pot over it. Presumably for cooking. Fireplace. Fire.

"Erif troch"

Her right hand began to glow a faint red as she said those words. She reached over to the firewood and brushed her hand over it in a single swift motion. As her hand finished the swipe, the glow disappeared and the wood had begun to burn with a beautiful dancing orange flame.
"Hey Leia...do you wanna dry your hands off. Maybe get a little warmer too?" She said looking over to the girl briefly and motioning towards the flame before turning her head and watching the fire dance again, extending her hands out towards it to dry them. She hoped they didn't have to stay in the cabin for too long. She didn't have any food or water with her and it didn't look like there were any in the cabin. Eventually that'd become a problem if too much time elapsed. But Vicky was thankful for the situation at hand, they were lucky to escape with their lives back there.

"No, actually I haven't learned any magic of that kind. Let's just hope that your method works in waking her, if waking her doesn't work then we will help the dragon and leave Natallia here with a note. And as for the exit, it can take us to the field near the building and we can help the dragon there." He responded

((OOC: WARNING: This gets kind of graphic. Basically a young woman appears in the tunnel Paula and Nate are in and she's covered in blood.))

Far away in the deserts of Girranon, a young woman was riding her favorite horse.
She was also avoiding poisoned arrows.
Gwen urged the horse on, leaning forward and gripping the reins tighter. Her knuckles turned white, and she gritted her teeth. This is bad. This is very, very bad. The badness in this particular situation could be described as really, really bad.
Her horse sharply turned around a sand dune, and Gwen dared to look over her shoulder. The bandits trying to chase her down were gaining on her. Their horses were younger, faster, and Gwen was completely out of ideas. As her panic grew, she tried to think of ways to get out of this situation, because her horse couldn't run forever. And the poisoned arrows would eventually find their mark. Gwen silently begged Ena that he would somehow grant her a miracle, and despite the harrowing situation she chuckled to herself. It must be pretty bad if she was praying to some imaginary god.
An arrow suddenly pierced her horse's flank, and he screamed and fell, throwing her into the side of a dune. Gwen was on her feet in a flash, but knew she wouldn't be able to outrun the bandits. Think think think! What can I do? I can't be kidnapped again...
Gwen ran anyway, trying desperately to make a plan that would involve her not getting shot with an arrow or end up as a mine worker. It wasn't like she was a dragon, but she doubted the bandits would make that kind of distinction. Gwen kept running, and heard an arrow whistle past her ear, narrowly missing her. Gwen ran up the side of a dune, sliding down the other side. The dune however was a lot farther down on the other side then she thought, and Gwen tumbled down, rolling down for a distance before finally rolling to a stop. Gwen's short cape had fallen over her head, and she flipped it back onto her back before getting to her feet. She coughed and spat out sand, feeling sand and dust in every fold in her clothes. She scanned the wide basin of sand in front of her, but knew from experience that she wouldn't be able to escape with any kind of speed. The walls of the basin were too steep. She ran to the edge of the basin, and began to dig, trying to bury herself in the sand. At this point, it was her only option and she hoped it would somehow work.
As she was digging, she felt a sudden, sharp pain in her hand, and Gwen winced, looking down at her palm. What..? How am I bleeding? She stopped digging, staring at her hand. At first she assumed she hit a rock of some sort, but then the blood moved in her hand, dripping down onto the sand below and somehow forming a perfect circle. Gwen's eyes widened as the circle filled with her blood, though she didn't feel any different, certainly not like she had a gaping wound in her hand that was dripping way too much blood to be feasible.
She cocked her head, and then gasped. Oh stars and rain. Natallia.
The blood created a perfect circle big enough for her to fit in, and Gwen steeled herself before jumping into the hole. She felt covered in blood, which wasn't a pleasant experience combined with the sand. She held her breath, and hoped the blood portal would work. She and Natallia had devised the spell nearly a year ago, to be used only in emergencies. And with Natallia, who thought a battle with forty mages was another fun weekend, an emergency could only be described as catastrophic.
Gwen dropped, suddenly in open, cool air, and fell to her side. She was laying in a pool of blood, and groaned. The amount of bathing she'd have to do after this would need the same amount of water as the Sundron River. She was still covered in blood, sand, and her cape had fallen over her head again. "That's it. No more cape. I don't care how cool it looks, this is the last time I'm wearing it."
She pulled it off, and it felt heavy with blood. She made a face and cast it aside. She appeared to be in some kind of tunnel, and when she turned around she saw a young man, an older woman, and one of her good friends laying unconscious besides them.
"Natallia! She's... She's not dead, right? She can't be, I mean it's impossible. She's kind of invincible, and really it's quite impossible, improbable and simply inconceivable that she could be dead, no way, she can't..." Gwen spoke fast, as she tended to do when she got panicked. She took a breath, and said, "Sorry, I'm Gwen. I'd shake your hand, but uh... Anyway. She's breathing, right?"

((OOC: I'M SO SORRY I HAVE BEEN really stressed and struggling and I apologize. I'll be better in the future. Anyway. You guys see the other end of the blood portal, a dark circle of blood that drips for a bit then suddenly gushes blood, leaving Gwen on the floor in a puddle of her own blood.))

Nate was confused by the randomness of red liquid dropping from the ceiling. "Umm..." Before he could let out a word a bloodied woman fell from the ceiling and automatically began to ask questions. Wait...Gwen? The same one sis always talked about? He remembered her a little bit but not too well, he remembered her having a brother but where is he...and why is she so beautiful now? Nate stared at her not in horror from the blood but in amazement. He shook his head trying to snap out of it. "Ummm...ya s-sis is fine I think...we were just about to try and w-wake her up Gwen..." His voice hoping that she would at least remember him a bit but whenever it came to women he sorta liked he thought negatively about himself. "Umm...Paula try waking her up with that spell...or actually G-gwen do you have any spells you could w-wake her up with?" Nate asked, hopefully she wouldn't think he was weird now.

Leia

Leia closed the door behind them. The cold breeze seeping into the cabin stopped and the sound of water dripping from her clothes and bandages could be heard. Slowly she followed Vicky and watched her light the fire. Her eyes widened having only seen magic in use few times before today. This spell also was just did pretty to watch. The flame igniting on the wood as the crackling of the fire filled the silence and dripping sounds of the room. A soft orange glow banished the darkness around them. Her head snapped to look at Vicky while the girl spoke. Leia simply nodded and sat on er knees besides Vicky holding her hands out in the same manner as her.

"It's warm." She spoke softly, grateful for the flames melting away the chill crawling up her spine from the rain. "Thank you," her gaze went up to Vicky, paired with a small smile. The Cabin wasn't to terribly big, that meant the whole place should get just as warm after a while. The flames began licking at the pot above them. Leia wondered if this was Skorzah's cabin, or just an abandoned place she knew of. Would the dragon lady come back soon for them? Her eyes went to the door. How long would they be here...What if what ever bad thing was out there found them? Her brow furrowed in a worried expression.

"Umm...Paula try waking her up with that spell...or actually G-gwen do you have any spells you could w-wake her up with?"
Gwen swallowed, and nodded. "I think so. You... I don't know you. Either of you, actually. How do you know Nat?"
She bent down, and waved a hand over Natallia, whispering words to herself. She closed her eyes, and used healing magic to scan her, make sure she was okay. Gwen was careful to avoid her head, even though she saw a cut on Natallia's forehead. The kind of scan she was doing could accidentally puncture Natallia's mind, and that could do untold damage. The rest of her was okay. She had some minor burns, but nothing that a little rest wouldn't heal.
"Ewaka," Gwen commanded. Natallia stirred, but didn't wake. Gwen frowned, but didn't try again. Spells that messed with the head, like the waking up spell did, were particularly potent and shouldn't be used too often. She would wake up naturally now, but it could still take awhile. Gwen glanced up at the two companions. "Either of you have bandages? I do, but there kinda sorta covered in blood. Dang blood portals... Super useful, but super messy."

Paula couldn't really process what was going on too well at the moment. She had never seen anything like the blood portal appear before her and yet here she was. Standing not only before a blood portal, but a woman covered in her own blood. She was glad Nate was here to see this all too. Judging by his tone he wasn't in the most comfortable position right now either. In fact, Paula didn't exactly trust this woman.
"Uhm, hello Gwen." Paula said almost reaching for a handshake before retracting her arm before the bloody woman shook it. "I'm Paula Crafter, and no unfortunately I don't have any bandages. I'd drench you in water in attempt to clean you off, but I don't know how effective that'd actually be and I don't know if being soggy and slightly bloody is necesarrilly better than being bloody." Paula noticed how Gwen's spell had a slight effect on Natallia and decided to save her spell for another time, the same spell that'd shoot Vicky awake in a fright when she was in deep sleep may have underage effects on someone who is stirring.

"To not know who Nathan is implies you're not too close with Natallia either." She said still questioning who she was in her mind. "Now, why did you randomly appear from a portal made of blood and fall into an enclosed area?" Paula said bluntly, simply trying to find answers.

"You're welcome!" Vicky responded rather hastily, almost nervously. She was beginning to become more comfortable with Leia, though the person in question appeared to be worried. At least looked worried. Vicky wouldn't let that happen. She called Leia's gaze over to her.
"Hey hey, check this out." She said raising her right hand up.

"Erif imagram." Vicky's palm glowed once again, but this time as she waved her hands around a thin trail of what appeared to be fire followed her hands. Persisting in the air for a short while before vanishing. With this trail of fire, Vicky draw a bunch of shapes in the air. Stars, smiling faces, she even spelt out her companion's name in the air. This spell was something Vicky had invested a lot of time into when she got bored at home. She always did it to cheer herself up a little bit and hoped it had a similar effect on Leia's mood.

After she'd finished her little showVicky clutched her hand into a fist, a little bit of smoke seeping from the gaps in her fist as the glowing stopped.
"Is there anything bothering you Leia? You look worried." She said softly, she had an I killing that Leia's mood was probably something to do with the whole situation and the madness that led up to it. As well as all the unanswered questions about the safety of the people at the inn that coming here away from them implanted. "I can understand if you don't wanna talk about it." Vicky said trying to compensate just in case Leia got offended by her question. Vicky didn't know if anything she had said was too intrusive, she had barely had a friend before much less a friend who she talked about feelings with. So she sat there, slightly tense as she awaited the response.

Leia

Her head turned back to Vicky and her eyes followed the trial of fiery light. Her mouth hung open after a small gasp at the beaty of it. The shades around them moving has the small flame in Vicky’ s hand moved. Shaped and faced filled the air and her name in the bright orange light absolutely delighted her. Leia smiled brightly asthe worries slippong from her in that magical moment. “Wow...” She whispered softly, incredibly impressed and bewitched. The smoke trialed from Vicky’s hand and Leia’s mouth closed upon hearing her question.

It took her a momen to collect herself. She wasn’t asked about her thoughts often, if at all. She wasn’t really asked much of anything pertaining to herself. Her gaze went to the fire place as she adjusted herself to sit on her bum and wrap her arms around her knees. Her toes appreciated the newfound warmth as her head found a resting place on her knees. There was silence for a moment before she found a bit of strength to answer Vicky. “Today....has been really topsy-turvy...I just want to be safe and ok. I don’t want to end up on the market. I wish the lady.....miss Skorzah and the other pretty lady to come back and say everything is fine and to explain why I’m here more, why my masters were trying to hurt me so much when she came and why take me....I’m just a companion dragon to a noble, no one important..” she curled up more in her spot, once she started to talk the words seemed to gush out of her like a waterfall. A small blush formed on her face, embarrassed at talking so much. “Everything feels really scary right now miss Vicky....”

"To not know who Nathan is implies you're not too close with Natallia either. Now, why did you randomly appear from a portal made of blood and fall into an enclosed area?"
"Oh, um, well," Gwen said, pressing her lips together. In truth, she wasn't sure how much these people knew about Natallia, or how much she trusted them. Still, they were friends of Natallia, and she'd have to respect that, for now. Still, who cared if she knew Nathan? He was another friend, although him knowing her name was a bit concerning. Had Natallia told them about her? Or, at least, this Nathan? "I'm... Well, I'm a friend, I guess you could say. And I'm sorry I don't know Nate here, but I've never met him. Natallia and I... Well, we met when I was sent to kill her. But I don't take assassin jobs, and so I decided to protect her instead. The guy who hired me had hired others, but Nat could take care of herself. We became friends after that, and that's when we got the whole, you know, blood portal thing. It's actually pretty frickin' amazing. See, blood magic is super new, but I gotta friend in the Spellsmith guild in Girranon, and they hooked me up. Nat's the only one I really trust, so we both got the spell done. That's the first time it's been used though... And knowing Nat, it must've been pretty bad." Gwen tried to wipe some bloody hair out of her face, and felt absolutely disgusting. A large water spell sounded great, but so did a river or a bath. She could do with a cold bath right about now... She looked straight at Nathan, standing so she could meet his eye. "So... Where are we and who are you and why should I know you?"

Nates face dropped a little at how she didn't know him. Maybe sis only told him about her but not the other way around. Well it's no time to think on it too much. "I mean...Natallie told me about you, I'm her brother Nathan..." He could still see past the blood and was mesmerized by her potential beauty behind all of that red fluid. "As for where we are...we are under the inn where we keep dragons sometimes and it's under attack and a lot has happened basically...so now we are hiding out down here trying to come up with a plan to wake up sis and help our friend that's back up top. You wanna try and help us?" He knew he didn't have time to really explain why everything was happening but he hoped his quick explanation was good enough for her. He was still a little heartbroken at her not knowing him however.

"I mean...Natallie told me about you, I'm her brother Nathan..."
Gwen frowned. "Wow, yeah, um... Well, nice to meet you. I think she mentioned a brother but..."

JOOOOSH! NO!

"But you know I don't..."

Digging, scratching, no no no it can't be true! It can't! JOSH!

"I-I don't..."

JOSH PLEASE COME BACK! I can't do this without you! I can't live without you!

"She might've... Oh stars..."

Gwen held her chest, feeling a sudden icy chill crawl up her spine. The tunnel was suddenly so cold, and the blood drying to her skin didn't help. Her breath came in short gasps, and she took a long slow blink. She rubbed her lips together, the overwhelming panic washing over her as dread and shame crept along the edges of her mind. She stumbled to the wall, using it for support. It occurred to her in some distant place in her mind, the one that still held reasoning, that this probably didn't bode well for her credibility. She took long, slow breaths, trying to stop herself from hyperventilating.

It also occurred to her that the reason Natallia didn't mention she had a brother was probably for this exact reason. She hadn't been the same since... since it happened. And Natallia, despite her tough warrior exterior, had a compassionate heart. Did she have other siblings? People she didn't know about because just thinking about siblings caused this?

Gwen felt a hand on her shoulder, and when she dared to loosen her grip and the feeling in her chest subsided, she saw Natallia looking at her calmly. "I see you met my brother."

Gwen nodded, and Natallia took long exaggerated breaths. Gwen mimicked her, and slowly she went back to normal. Natallia nodded to herself, and looked to Nathan and Paula. "I see Skorzah finished the tunnels. They lead to a cabin not far from here. Skorzah likely took the girls there. We can make our way from there to the Green Castle."

Natallia took her hand off of Gwen's shoulder, making a face at the blood now covering her hand. "I had hoped he was merely joking when he said blood portal."

"Nope," Gwen grinned. She felt tired, exhausted even, but much relieved. "I made a pretty awesome entrance, though. Heck of a way to meet people, right guys?"

Natallia gave her a half smile, the only real expression of happiness she had. She glanced down each end of the tunnel's ceiling, and then pointed in the direction they were supposed to go. "This way."

"Sorry...I didn't mean to say something wrong..." He said and then Natallia stepped in and calmed Gwen down. He then stayed silent for the time being feeling kinda bad for not knowing that he wasn't supposed to say anything about them being siblings. He just followed his sister into the direction down the tunnel she suggested and when Gwen asked about her entrance he was in deep thought and didn't really hear, it seemed he really wanted to impress her a bit or feel like he knew some part of her and he messed that up by making her have a meltdown. He had a troubled expression on his face.

Natallia Gingifi
1521349863512.pngNatallia, for her part, was fairly annoyed she had collapsed.

The last thing she remembered was the ceiling crashing down on her, and then waking up in the dank, dark tunnels. Skorzah had been building them for years, and while useful weren't the safest tunnels. They tended to have large rats and other foul creatures. Natallia knew this, but not wanting to frighten the others--especially Gwen--she kept that fact to herself. It wasn't likely they'd meet any creatures, anyways. For whatever reason, creatures of the dark scurried away from those with heavy magic power, of which there were three of them. Gwen was... Well, not a very skilled mage. But she was a skilled warrior. One of the best Natallia had ever seen.

They continued down the tunnels, and Natallia scanned the area in front of her for signs of a ladder. The cabin wasn't too far from the inn, but it was still a good long walk away. Silently she hoped that Skorzah had survived the battle above, and would return to them. While it was comforting to have her brother here, and Gwen, Skorzah was a force of nature and a survivalist. If they were to save Alli, she'd want all of them by her side. They indeed would need all of them if they were going to get Alli out alive. 1521351291909.png
And she still hadn't told Eton, or told Nate that Eton didn't know. Hopefully he wouldn't ask. The two had become good friends, and he wouldn't be very happy to know that Eton, Alli's husband, didn't know his wife was pregnant or in a jail cell.

Natallia continued down the tunnel, lost in thought. She kept shooting glances at both Gwen and her brother. While she worried about Gwen, she was curious to her younger brother's reaction. If not for the dim light, she could've sworn he was blushing. A small smirk crept across her face. She had told him stories of Gwen and their adventures, and for some reason he didn't mind Gwen's unorthodox entrance. This would be something she would... mention to him later. Not at all tease him. Certainly not.

She looked to her brother. "Have you spoken to Eton recently?"

Gwen was shaking, she was so cold. Her cape was heavy with blood, and she was half dry and half wet. She silently wrapped her arms around herself, following Natallia down the tunnel. Why are tunnels so cold? Why underground? Why a dang blood portal?

And she couldn't help it; her mind flitted back to her brother. This time the memories stabbed her heart, but she didn't panic again. She felt exhausted, lonely, and cold. So cold...

"Come on, can't we start a fire?"

"Do you want a Marzdulian raider party to find us? We kinda just escaped one."

"But I'm so scared. And cold."

Josh chuckled. "Well, come over here. We can't light a fire, but I'll keep you safe, okay?"

"And warm?"

"And warm," Josh told her. "Come on. When have I ever let you down?"

Gwen blinked. She had heard something, something that shook her out of her trip down memory lane. Gwen stopped, and cocked her head. She closed her eyes, listening. There was something... Something in the darkness just up ahead. Gwen's breathing slowed, and she could hear her heartbeat. It beat once a minute, it seemed, and Gwen opened her eyes. They glowed slightly, making the darkness seem as light as early evening. She straightened her head and her hands went for the two scimitars that hung at her waist. They were covered in blood as well, but Gwen didn't notice the cold blood on her skin.

Suddenly she dashed forward, and sliced the scimitars in an X formation. Nearly imperceptible in the darkness was a large, rat-like creature. Several of them, in fact, and soon Gwen was whipping around, the scimitars dancing around her as she cut down the rat creatures. One bit her leg, and Gwen took away its head in return. They kept coming though, and Gwen fought them with vicious snarls.

When the creatures were dead, Gwen was breathing hard. Eventually she looked back at the party, and gave them an uneasy smile. "So... Turns out there are rats in the tunnel. Who knew?"

As the noble woman began to walk towards the palace doors, Seraphina turned to her pet. One of her arms extended to her side before whipping upwards- a signal for the large bird of prey to take flight. The healer watched as her beloved companion spread her wings and took to the skies. The gust of air that had shot out had ruined her hair, brunette locks wrapped haphazardly around her mask and cloak. Adjusting the strands back to laying flat across her head, she proceeded to follow after Lady Wrandym.

Niklaus was silent as he fell into step at her side, his hands held behind his back.

Their traverse to the study was spent in quiet reflection, Seraphina unsure on what would be appropriate to ask. She hadn’t spent much time in their lands. She had studied their customs in ad nauseam but it mattered little at the very thought of meeting with the queen herself.

The young healer was snapped out of her musings by the doors swinging open. Niklaus moved towards the side of the wall, knowing that he would be less than welcomed in a formal- and most likely, secretive- meeting with the ruler and her lady. He offered his young ward a small smile before the doors were closed and Seraphina was left on her own. Taking a deep breath, she moved towards the desk, pausing a few feet away with her hands folded primly before her.

Seraphina watched with awe as the woman rounded the desk, looking every bit of the fierce ruler her cousin had described her to be.

“My king wishes you many successful years in your reign, your highness.” Seraphina cordially spoke, dipping down into a formal bow before the other woman. “He was happy to see that you had commissioned me. I know it is a very great honor to serve such a renowned monarch as yourself.”

She shifted out of her position, head still bowed. Behind her mask, she couldn’t help to grimace at the mention of tea. Lifting her head, she once more clasped her hands before her form.

“I’m terribly sorry to refuse your offer, your highness, but my mask makes it difficult for me to consume anything while I wear it. I hope you understand.” Her hand lifted to gesture to her face, bowing her upper torso once more in an attempt to soothe any annoyance that arose at her reluctant refusal.

Skorzah looks around at the bodies of traders, growling as she searches for any still alive. She finds none. Satisfied, she turns, and starts digging through the parts of her inn that crumbled inwards, pleased to find no one trapped beneath. With that she turns, and flies back toward the cabin, ignoring the pain of her wounds. A few arrows and spears did manage to break through her hide, but she’ll be fine.

Nate was stuck in thought until it was broken by his sister. "Umm...no I haven't why?" He asked wondering why she would ask such a thing out of the blue like that. As soon as he finished answering he seen Gwen go on a killing spree with rats, he would have normally took this as a sign of insanity but at this point he already liked her and was a little impressed and was pleased to see how efficient her fighting style was. "Ya...who knew. Umm sorry about before Gwen, I didn't mean to..."

"Umm...no I haven't why?"
Natallia nodded. "I haven't spoken to him in a few months, I was wondering if you had." She kept her expression neutral, knowing he would have many questions once he found out about Alli's situation. He was practically her child's uncle, and Natallia the child's aunt.
Natallia heard the scuffling just before Gwen did, although Gwen reacted first. A marzdulian trait, one that Natallia hadn't seen for some time. They almost became berzerkers, slicing down everything--and everyone--in their path. Of all the Marzdulian warriors Natallia had met, however, Gwen had the most control over her bezerker form. Natallia had fought along side many Marzdulians, and they all had trouble not turning on their friends and allies once they were finished with their enemies. Gwen, however, had never had this problem.
With a slight smile, Natallia nodded. "Yes, and other foul creatures. We should get going."

"Ya...who knew. Umm sorry about before Gwen, I didn't mean to..."
"Oh, it's fine," Gwen told him. "It's not like you could know. I mean, shoot, I don't even know what happened. It kinda just happens sometimes, I guess. Don't cry over spilled milk, like my ma used to say."
Gwen turned around, and snapped her fingers. A fire lit at her fingertips, and she held it up in front of her, waving it about. She could see several tunnels that were two small for them, likely the rat tunnels. She also saw a simple ladder, made of wood and thick rope. It looked gross and covered in dirt, but it led to a small trap door that Gwen assumed was the way out. "Hey guys, I don't know, but I think this is exactly where we need to go. And I for one want a bath, so I call going first."
Gwen headed up the ladder, her hands slipping slightly as they were still covered in only slightly dried blood. She shoved the door open, and it flung open on the other side. Gwen poked her head through, and saw two girls sitting in front of a large fire. "Oh sweet, that looks nice. Hello! I'm Gwen!"

Queen Averian
“I’m terribly sorry to refuse your offer, your highness, but my mask makes it difficult for me to consume anything while I wear it. I hope you understand.”
Queen Averian gave a nod. "Of course. My apologies. I'll have some, simply because I never miss tea time. It's good for my health, I'm sure you know. Nothing heals the soul like a good cup of hot tea."

Queen Averian stood, gesturing over to a group of chairs and a table. "Please, join me." She sat, and a maid came in with a tray with a silver tea pot and three silver cups. "Thank you, Jasmine. How's your new baby?"

"Doing well, your majesty," Jasmine told her. "You be needing anything else, ma'am?"

"No. See that we aren't disturbed. Thank you, Jasmine."

The maid gave a small curtsy and hurried from the room. Lady Wrandym sat by her queen's side. She took a silver cup and poured the queen some tea before pouring herself some. The queen smiled at Lady Seraphina, and tried to hide her displeasure for their current circumstances. She took a deep breath, and sipped some tea before setting the cup down on its saucer, which she placed in her lap. "I have... had an advisor. Her name was Lady Syreece Naforn. She was an excellent thinker, strategist, and helped improve the infrastructure of the city and the kingdom. She was also quick-witted, and never failed to make me smile. That was, until, she was discovered to be pregnant. Syreece isn't married, but that isn't one of my concerns. Her children are dragons. Now, Syreece claims that the pregnancy was forced upon her, and I would prefer to believe her. Syreece hasn't ever lied to me, and has sworn that when the babies are born that she'll publicky kill both of them.
"I don't want that to happen. I would much rather the babies died within her, to avoid a scene that will both horrify the people and create animosity towards me and my reign. Which is where you come in. While Syreece is pregnant, she is being kept in the dungeons. She is being made comfortable, as comfortable as prisoners are allowed. But despite that, she has become ill, and her life is threatened. I... I have grown to rely on Syreece, as I rely on Lady Wrandym and the other members of the court. If she dies, I would be greatly displeased. None of my physicians have been able to diagnose her, and the ones who could have refused on the basis that her children are dragons. This I allow, because I too wouldn't want to help some lowly dragon. But Syreece needs to be treated, regardless of the children she carries. Will you help her?"

Seraphina couldn’t help but to find amusement at the older woman’s words. They were cordial and unassuming, allowing the young noble to relax a bit over their interaction.

“Yes, your majesty.” Seraphina nodded her head before she delicately sat in the chairs opposite of the queen.

Her gaze shifted in the direction of Lady Wrandym, surprised to see that the royal trusted the woman enough to listen in on a private conversation. However, her attention was once more turned back to the queen, parting her lips in surprise once the first sentence was uttered. The tale the queen wove made the noble woman feel uneasy, nodding her head to convey that she was listening at different intervals.

It certainly was a horrific account- forcing a woman to kill her children after childbirth, just to prove her loyalty, was a hard concept to process.

Once she was assured that the queen had finished her tale, Seraphina took a harsh breath through her nose. Her gaze drifted over the table top, taking in the finery with unseeing eyes. It took another moment of silence before she was able to find her voice.

“This is a very… delicate situation, your majesty.” The noble woman began, thoughtful and considerate. Her hands shifted in her lap, clasped together lightly.

“I’m willing to take this job-” Seraphina paused. “Due to the refusals your own physicians have given you. As a respected healer in my own kingdom, I know that I shall be able to cure your former advisor of whatever ails her. There will be some difficulty with the children she had within her womb- herbs do not stop pregnancies when it comes to dragons or dragonborn. It will take me several weeks to find a proper spell or- to study the surgical procedure I would have to perform to end her pregnancy properly.”

Averian smiled. "Excellent. Whatever you need or desire shall be yours. I want you to see her at once--Lady Wrandym will take care of rooms for you and your guard. The guards will escort you down to the dungeons where she's being kept. I have to warn you--there are many who aren't happy with your treating Lady Naforn. They believe her to be a traitor, and for the time being I have reserved my judgment. Should you encounter any... unpleasantries, I trust you to behave respectfully. These are members of my court, after all, and must be treated with the respect those positions deserve."

Averian stood, and moved back to her desk. She had full confidence in Lady Seraphina's abilities, and that Lady Wrandym would take care of the whole situation. She was quite talented that way. Averian sat down, and began writing down a few items to remember for later. She was planning to host a dance in two weeks, for all the courts in Visifia. It would help to legitimize her, and would also be fun. She was hoping to see Prince Phaluis of Girranon there, and hopefully they could secure a marriage. It would ally herself with one of the more powerful governments in Visifia, and help smooth over relations between their two countries.

Averian looked up. "You're both dismissed. Lady Seraphina, please report back to me once you're finished."

Alli Coppergold
Alli absently rubbed her swollen belly. She estimated that she was five, maybe six months pregnant. She had never been pregnant before, but she couldn't remember anyone else being this big when they were this far along. Maybe she wasn't remembering right... She had a lot of trouble remembering things nowadays. Her head felt heavy, and she had already sweat through her clothes. She sat on a thin mattress, the blanket in a ball besides her. She had used it to wipe away her sweat, and it too now felt oily and disgusting. She felt too weak to use it now, and her face scrunched up as her baby kicked her side. When the baby first kicked, she had felt so pleased. But now, every kick felt like a punch to the gut.
Alli drifted back into a hazy sleep, a reality between sleep and dreams. She was swaying with Eton. She wasn't pregnant, she was wearing her wedding dress. A light tune filled the air, and Eton's golden eyes smiled at her, crinkling slightly. "You look so beautiful, you know."
"Not too bad yourself, Sir Coppergold. How does it feel to be a knight?"
"Feels pretty good," Eton chuckled. He pulled her close, kissing the top of her hair. "You sure you love me?"
"Who said I loved you?" Alli whispered into his neck.
Eton chuckled, and hugged her tighter. "Are you feeling any danger?"
"I want to leave, Eton. My baby won't live in here."
"I know. I want to come get you."
"They'd kill you."
Suddenly the whole area was filled with fire. Alli was standing on the edge of a castle wall, and she could see fighting down below. All of their friends, their allies, were fighting down below. Eton's dragon form reared up. He was fighting and winning, except then a huge acid ball was launched towards him. Alli screamed his name, but Eton didn't react in time. The acid hit him, and took him down in a great explosion. Alli was sobbing, and screaming.

In her sleep, Alli moaned her husband's name, still stuck in the dream world. "Eton... No, Eton..."

Leia

She shoved the door open, and it flung open on the other side. Gwen poked her head through, and saw two girls sitting in front of a large fire. "Oh sweet, that looks nice. Hello! I'm Gwen!"

Her head turned to a piece of the floor opening up and her stomach dropped as slightly bloodied woman popped out and smiled. The sight creeped Leia out and she scooted closer to Vicky. The words the woman spoke seemd kind but it was all a bit unsettling. Leia stayed silent, unsure if she should answer this Gwen lady. Her eyes went to Vicky and back to the woman in the floor.

Nate smiled a bit and nodded at her words. She was very much correct, she seemed like such an amazing girl already. Would he even be good enough for her. His smile faded once again at the thought but he wasn't aware he was showing this worried expression. "Heh ya...you are very much correct in that statement, that doesn't make me any less sorry though." He replied before watching her pop her head from the hatch and he could see a glimpse of the girls he seen before this whole army incident and he followed behind her. "Heh glad you made it safely." He smiled seeing that Leia was a bit freaked out he hoped her seeing him would calm her a bit.
