Gwen Z'ram
Gwen finished climbing into the cabin, and immediately hunted for a bath. She found some bread instead, and started to munch on it, only to find it stable. She swallowed it and immediately put it down, and then noticed it was raining outside. "Oh good. That'll do."
She opened the door into the storm, the wind blowing the rain and Gwen's cloak back. I am definitely, definitely getting rid of the cloak.
She untied it and tossed it into the storm. The fierce winds took it away, and Gwen soon stepped out, closing the door behind her. She felt the cold rain on her face, the wind sharp against her bare arms. She spread her arms, enjoying it. She hadn't felt rain like this since she left Marzdul with her parents. Josh used to say that the greatest power lied in the storms. And there were no better storms than in Marzdul. Gwen thought of her homeland as the rain continued to beat down her, washing the blood away. Absently she rubbed her exposed skin, scraping blood, grime, and sand from her arms and face. The rain quickly soaked through her clothes, but Marzdul's rains were much, much colder. She hadn't been in one of them for years, but this storm was nothing compared to the hurricanes she was used to being out in.
She closed her eyes, going into the rain's world. It slowed, and she felt every single drop. She ran her hands through her soaked hair, getting the grime out of it too. It felt so good to be clean. In her mind's eye, she could picture Josh and her, running across the fields of Kuntuk, running through the rain and wind. Getting blown about by the massive winds. Her parents watching from a distance. Her brother loved storms...
Gwen's eyes snapped open. She knew she couldn't think of him. She couldn't ever think of him. Ever.
She hoped that one day she could take herself to his grave, and remember him. But for now, she wasn't strong enough.
I'm so sorry, Josh. I'm sorry I couldn't save you.
Natallia Gingifi
Natallia headed up the ladder after her brother, and saw a fire lit in the cabin. Good. They would all need it. She saw Gwen walk outside to the storm, the wind making the fire weaken. Natallia lobbed a ball of fire into the fireplace, and it gained more strength. She nodded to herself. She had contacted many other dragon thieves and allies, and she could only hope that they would meet her at the Green Castle. If Alli was to get out of there alive, than they would need all the help they could get. And this little ragtag group Natallia had little faith in. They had two children with them, for Ena's sake.
"Everyone get some rest," Natallia told them. "I'll tell you what this is about in the morning, unless you wish to hear about it now. There are beds through that door, and some food in the cabinets. Skorzah will be here shortly, I'm sure of it."
