Fantasy The Dragon of The North

Astrid smiled over at the man that had yelled out. He had guts and a good soul, she would give him that. Perhaps there wouold be one person she would at least be neutral towards... She then waited for the wizard to hand them what they needed and she couldn't wait to see what armor and weapons they had...

'Yeah, sure' she said while looking at the wizard. She wasn't really interested in how they were to be equipped, she just wanted to be able to go as fast as possible. She already had her weapons and everything else with her. She then looked over to the dark haired mercenary, who seemed to be rather excited.

She marched down the hall to which she was summoned. Ellandra highly disliked this commercial city, and scowled in the direction of one bright window as she passed. Though her layered skirt gently swished about her, it made absolutely no sound. Enchantments were more than useful when one wanted to draw little notice. She gathered her cloak closer about herself, collected her hair over her shoulders, and pulled her hood up over her face. With hope, there would be more than a few people in such a small room, as that one seemed from the outside. With a deep breath, she slowly edged the door open and slipped into the room.

With a few hurried glances, she surveyed the room, more cavernous than she had expected. After all, a man of such size as seen before her could be found inside it. Turning back to the door, she gently tapped it with her fingers in a quick sequence, muttering a fairly simple incantation under her breath to silence the noise of shutting it. After she had closed the door, she turned back to the company in the room, whom all seemed quite at odds with each other. That, at least, was based on their current state of quarreling.

Cyra sighed and hoped the rest of the group would agree to get equipped, so they could finally get going. She then noticed something had changed in the room and looked to her right, seeing someone had come in. She hadn’t heard her, but she had felt her magic and Cyra didn’t like at all what she had felt. She could sense she was a sorcerer and looked at her every move to make sure she didn’t try any funny business. Her hand had clasped around the handle of one of her daggers and she was ready to use it at any time.

Astrid sighed as she clearly saw the woman, with a green headband, suddenly turn agitated an defensive. Eventhough the woman was trying to hide the fact that she was clutching at her dagger, it was obvious to Astrid. "I wouldn't do that if I were you. Keep calm." Astrid called out to the woman in a way that only both of them knew what she was talking about, no one else...

Cyra was so focused on the newcomer, that she wasn’t expecting someone to say something. She quickly turned her head around when she heard the mercenary tell her to calm down.

‘I am perfectly calm’ she said, but her voice sounded higher then she wanted it to be, giving away how nervous she actually was. She mentally cursed herself for not controlling her voice.

She then turned her attention back to the sorceress, while relaxing her posture but still clutching at her dagger. She wasn’t relaxed at all, she just tried to make sure no one else noticed.

Someone's attention was fixated -- exclusively -- on her. She shivered. She disliked it. She glanced around the room once more to find who it was, and noted the mercenary woman by her glaring gaze. As soon as Ella made eye contact, she glanced away. Heavens, that woman looked as if she were planning to kill on a moment's notice!

The older male shrugged, now going around each and every participant, handing out maps, compasses and little leather bound notebooks. He shoved the pile into the newcomers chest with a sideways glare. "You're late." He muttered, now turning to each of them. "RIGHT! Are we ready to proceed down to the armoury? I would like you all to follow, the stereotypical pointy wizard hat." He declared, pulling the grey pointed hat onto his head.

Jocelyn walked through the corridors with a quickened pace, a cloak covered her form, covering her whole body from her hood to her ankles. White with silvery curved, ivory designs on it. But by the size of the cloak, you could tell whoever was under it was female. Her hair tucked into her hood, her hood shadowed her face. She didn't want anyone to recognize that she was a princess, especially of the last northern kingdom standing. The only visible thing in her hood, was a little bit of her small nose and her chin and pale lips with the peircings.

If she were to unviel they would all know who she was, which she didn't want that attention. She silently opened the door, seeing all different kinds of people, in lncluding a knight, a man of large size, mercanrys. And more.

She shut the door, but was so quiet nobody noticed. And she went back into the shadows of the room, before speaking. "I apologize of being late, matters came up that needed to be delt with immediately. Which I'm sure you can all understand." Her voice was strong and had the thick Northish accent. But it was graceful and calm as she spoke.

She took the objects the wizard gave them with pride. Astrid knew that this would be an adventure that she would never forget. She then got up from her seat and walked towards the entrance. Astrid certainly couldn't wait to visit the armory as she followed the wizard.

Then Astrid stopped to see yet another late person walking through the door. She rolled her eyes as the newcomer apologised. Astrid wondered if anyone else would be late and she hoped not. After all, she wanted to get to the armory quickly...

Bennett twisted around to look at another northern newcomer, nodding in greeting. He stood up, his armour clanking with the movement. He held the items given to him by his chest, muffling a yawn. "Aye, hurry it up then man" He scowled toward the wizard.

The wizard picked up another bundle of the same items: Map, notebook and compass. He walked over, giving the other books with a sigh. "Can no one come on time?" Came a rather disgruntled mutter. He finally walked over to the door again, opening it. "Anyhow. FOLLOW ME PLEASE" He shouted, disappearing through the door and out into the hallway, already making his way to the armoury. Even for a man his age, he was surprisingly fast.

Astrid was relieved when the old man started walking to the armory. She needed to see all the fine armor and weapons...Especially weapons. Astrid walked with a fast pace to keep up with the man. After all, if she lost her way then she would have no idea where to go. That was something Astrid didn't want to happen so she quickened her pace once again.

Uki nodded. It seemed as if the wizrad wasn't going to follow on the quest. That was a relief. And finally they were going to get moving. It seemed to her if the other people here cared more for money and the thrill of the quest rather than actually reclaiming the North. When she heard the female elf speak, she cursed to herself once again. How could she ever hope to reclaim the North couldn't she notice some random persons. At least, peopel taht could move without being noticed would be useful to the group.

While she followed the wizard down to the armory, she wondered if she would take any weapons. She wasn't sure. On one hand, their weapons were probably better, but her current ones were what she was used to, they came from the tribe, the North. She walked quickly to get this over with.

Jocelyn kept good pace with the wizard as they strode toward the armory, she had no need of any more weapons however but she didn't argue. She silently strode just a little behind the wizard, and recognized Knight Bennett, every royal member in the North is introduced to every knight, and she instantly regonized his face.

The wizard led them all down to the bottom levels of the castle (Again, which was quite a trip considering the amount of staircases we're talking about) To where the armoury stood. Near the guards barracks to be exact. He opened the doors, revealing cupboards upon cupboards of weapons. Some rare, others plain yet exquisite steels, engraved with the insignia of the south. Shukumei's royal arms. The older gentleman looked back at them all motioning to the racks of weapons. "Choose anything. But don't choose based upon look, choose for sturdiness, balance, and overall how effective the use is in combat." He lectured.

Sir William (Bennett) Approached the steel weapons, drawing his own blade to compare the steelwork, and balance. His brow creased in thought as he measured them up against each-other. "Hm"

One thing that Astrid didn't have many of were daggers for close calls and surprise attacks. She walked over to the steel daggers and blades, trying to choose some with both balance and one that could deliver deadly blows. A range of different blades would do, some easy for concealment, while others longer with a potential to serve her well. Astrid then picked up the most valuable and effective ones, hiding them within her armor and sheathing the longer blade. She wondered what everyone else would pick and if anyone would do the exact opposite of what the wizard said... After all, they would be complete idiots if they did.

As the wizard began to strut out of the room toward an armory, Ella noted the pointlessness of that detour. Everybody already had weapons upon them, and those were only the ones she could see. Nonetheless, she followed, only questioning until they arrived in the armory. As one of their group departed to examine the weapons, Ella stood, uninterested.

"Please tell me why we've averted ourselves here," She spoke for the first time, her gentle, soft and elegant voice echoing with veins of accusation.

The wizard (Being sassy and almost like a teenage girl) Rolled his eyes. "Well, I want you to be well equipped. Anything that can give an edge in combat is worth having. Wouldn't you say? After this we'll be visiting the stables for steeds. It will be then, you will begin your journey. The gateway of the North will be closed off after you leave. A one way ticket. Are we clear?"

@Spazzycat101

The wizard did not realize the pointlessness of this first trip. Ella gave an exasperated sigh before she resumed speaking.

"Every individual of this party is already equipped in some way. Unless this little armory is a test, it is a pointless trip other than to mesmerize the warriors with treasures they cannot carry."

Bennett looked back, at the conversation between wizard and other member of the company. "Well, we could always try taking an entire armoury with us" He smirked, going back to choosing between his own weapon or the others.

The older man sighed "Do you want something? If not, sit down and wait. Your pessimism is almost overcoming my own"

@Spazzycat101

Ella sighed once more, then scanned the room. Without noting anything to sit and wait upon, she simply leaned against the smooth side of one of the racks of malicious-looking weaponry.

'Well I already have my armor.' Xamien thought to himself. So trying to be polite he did as the wizard said and sat down on the floor again, taking a moment to reach into his pack and pull out a book to read for a little bit. While reading he would also take little glances to notice the gathered people and try to form strategies for who would be most effective in what way. A pass time he often found himself doing every since he ran into the spirit of the late great general Watshuan.

Once she had got all the necessary equipment and weapons she needed, Astrid leaned against the wall. She waited for everyone else to make their mind up on what to get and what not to get. Astrid had also decided to keep with her sword as it almost seemed lucky to her. After all, she had always gone into battle with it and it had always served her well. So, Astrid saw no reason to change it for a sword that she had no faith in...

Bennett finally chose upon a blade of his choosing, keeping one from the north, and taking a shorter close range sword for his secondary weapon. Finally he looked up at the wizard, then around the room. "I think we're done here" He nodded.

The wizard looked up and yawned "Right, right. Stables next. We've preprepared some rations for you all. Each of you also have a prepared horse. He once more, left the room ahead of everyone, walking out of the armoury, past the guards barracks to enter the royal stables. "Here you are, they've all got the same rations. Go ahead and pick a steed before the war ends"
