Fantasy The Dragon of The North

Uki looked at the man that entered with a bitter look on her face. She didn't like that he treated her purpose for being there a suicide mission. He didn't understand. He was just some old southerner. The old man had probably never seen the beautiful tundra of the North. However, it only got worse from there.

As the old man continued to talk about the dangers of the North, he mentioned ''indigenous cannibalistic tribes''. Uki couldn't believe it. She had thought such stereotypes had died a long time ago. Quickly, she aimed her spear at the old man, just beside his throat.

-What did you say about the tribes of the North, dead meat? she shouted. This was scandalous. There was no way Uki would let him get away with this.

@XxLuluxX

He cleared his throat once again, heavily sighing. "One at a bloody time. Im a wizard, not a motivational speaker goddammit." He looked over at Astrid first "If you come back with the Dragon, the pay will be whatever you ask the king for. If you manage to come back alive...The money will still be good. Considering if the city hasn't been sieged yet." He then swivelled around to the next- Einar "Look boy, this wasn't even supposed to be my job. Im giving you the cold harsh truth, you want a happy story? Im not going to feed you some bullshit, about how you'll all come back, riding atop a dragon with handfuls of riches! NO! You'll probably come home with a corpse or two. MOVING ON" He glanced toward the larger man with a smile and a nod "Why can't you be like him? All of you, take a note from his book or some such" The older man now whipped around to yet another mercenary "I gave you all enough time to meet and greet, yet i'm afraid, these people who surround you now, will be your companions for this mission. Im sure you can learn teamwork along the way. If not, you're all doomed to die for sure"

Did he mention the part about being a pessimistic, cynical man?

Yet his eyebrows rose, now faced with a spear from the tribal girl. With a finger, he moved the blade away and proceeded to glare. "Well, if you haven't noticed everyone has a bad side to their nationality. Its like not everyone from Shukumei is a salesman. But the cannibalistic tribes are real, and if you want to discuss cooking with them. GO AHEAD. Did I ever mention every northern tribe is full of cannibals? NO. You bullheaded woman. By the gods, im already sick of this group."

Highly amused and pissed off Tabitha laughed " Oh great! Just great! Wonderful! You've shoved together people who in the times span of about 15 minutes already hate each other! TO GO FIND SOME STUPID MAKE-BELEIVE DRAGON, ON A BLOODY MOUNTAIN FULL OF CANNABALS, WOLVES AND OTHER SHIT THAT WANT TO EAT US!!! " she had finally exploded screaming at the top of her lungs where it echoed through the building her blade had flashed and was now at theans neck pressing enough to draw blood and she was behind him Big Daddy pressed against the back of his neck, also drawing blood she deadly quiet and whispered harshly in his ear " and how so you expect us to do that? " the venom in her tone making her press both blades harder

The old wizard turned to Tabitha slowly. His eyes once kind, darkening. The hue of the iris became a brilliant gold, molten and angered. "Conseguir. Desligado. Eu" He now demanded, the words and tone of voice lower than that of the average man, weighed with magic. A moment passed, before a sudden pulse of energy threw the woman off him, along with her weapons clattering to the floor. "I am the royal wizard of this palace, and have been for centuries. This mission, comes at your cost. It was you who decided to come along to this meeting here today, and it is YOU whom signed up to working with these people. Learn to work together with your differences, or face the consequences." He declared loudly. "But if you try something like that again girl, It will be your body hanging from the bridge as quick as you can blink."

Cyra didn't even respond to what the wizard said, as her attention was drawn by the very, very, VERY short tempered mercenary, who was stupid enough to threaten him. There was only one way this could end, as she had felt the powerful magic the wizard possessed from the moment he came into the room. Just like she had thought the wizard spoke a few magic words, with whom he threw her across half the room and even though she didn't like the wizard with his fairytale about dragon's, she like the mercenary way less. A smirk appeared on her face, as she looked at the blonde mercenary lying on the ground and said with an obvious tone of sarcasm. 'Wow veeery smooth'

"Well I think we should probably get a move on if we want to make it there." Xamien said to anyone who was listening. "We each may have problems but surely when traveling it will give us time to work with each other and grow together as a group. Besides while we stand here the North grows colder, metaphorically speaking. We also have two Northerners in our group surely you both are as anxious as I am to get underway."

"And I am so confident that we will all get on." She replied sarcastically, chuckling a little at her own comment. "As long as the pay is good, I think I will be able to tolerate all of you...well for the most part." Astrid corrected at the end. It was an adventure. An adventure that paid well. She then thought of the different taverns she could come across...So much possiblilities including money and alcohol...Ahhh blissful thinking.

Uki took away her spear. He was a lot stronger than she had initially thought. It seemed as if she had to adapt to these judgemental idiots if she wanted to free the North. She had feeling that if something wasn't done now, nothing would be ever be done to save the North. She looked at the old wizard with spite.

-I'll cooperate. Just shut up, please, she said. She wasn't sure she would able to keep her calm were he to insult her people one more time. She turned around to face the blonde mercenary.

-You should also keep quiet. It's people like you that give mercenaries a bad name, she continued. The short hunter wanted to establish early on that she was not one to let herself get messed around with. This meeting was a catastrophe. She had hoped that this meeting would be civilised, without shallow wizards or hot headed knights. The people of the south were all crazy. How could she ever hope to reclaim the North.

@Wild Born

After hearing the rest of the people, she said; 'Well... I'm in. As long as SOME people, can manage to be a bit less hot-headed’ while eying the blonde mercenary. She then looked over to the knight to await his response as he had been reel quite, during all this. ‘So I assume you’re in as well?’ she asked him.

((Sorry 'bout this xD But is she speaking to Bennett?))

Bennett looked up toward Cyra, and nodded. "Of course I'm in. Nothing much to live for is there?" He shrugged, rubbing his jaw. "Who knows? It might actually be fun. Almost being eaten by multiple animals or cannibalistic tribes. Sounds like a good time." The knight gave a dry chuckle. "And what about yourself miss? You coming along?"

@TheDarkOwl

‘Well, It has been a while since I worked in a group and I don’t really fancy getting killed, but I am very capable of handling myself. So, yes, I am in.’ she said thinking about it. ‘and I of course get the chance to beat up some filthy beasts and I wouldn’t say no to that.’ She added with a smile of enjoyment when thinking about it. ‘Oh, and just call me Cyra' @XxLuluxX

"That's an excellent way of thinking" He laughed, shaking his head. "I do enjoy a fight." The knight cleared his throat, running a gloved hand through his hair. "Ah, well Cyra, call me Bennett. Or Ben I suppose." He shrugged. "Whichever takes your fancy. So except from all of this, what brings you on this merry suicide mission lass?" He asked, giving a lazy smile.

@TheDarkOwl

‘Well Ben’ she said while emphasizing his name and looking at him with a cheeky smile. ’I had heard rumors about a mission to the north, but I didn’t really think they were true, as most rumors are very unreliable, but then one day I was in a village minding my own business, when I heard a man say to his wife he was going here. I was very curious and after “encouraging” him he told me it was, because of a mission to the north. I was interested and that’s kind of how I ended up here’ . After telling him how she ended up her she looked at him waiting for his reaction.

"Ah. Well, I heard whilst on leave with the others. Bunkhouse was full of the chatter, I listened in at the card table. Heard about this place, and thought why the hell not? Haven't got much left, and the rest of them were all talk no action. Spent over a month trying to get into the south, my horse was barely breathing by the time I got to the city stables." He yawned, stretching out with a click of bone. "Doesn't sound so awe inspiring" He smirked.

@TheDarkOwl

Einarr glowered bitterly at the wizard as he spoke. Never had he encountered a man so rude, condescending, and threatening in his life. Had this not been a noble court in the south, the old bastard would have an arrow in his eye by now. At the moment he attacked one of the others, reasonably angry with his insane proposition, he had crossed the line. Being fed up with his insolence, Einarr stepped closer to the old wizard. His expression became more resentful and his hand inched closer to his knife. "A disgraceful old man like you does not deserve my blade." he snarled, staring down at the wizard with disgust. "In a moment, I am going to walk out. Should you make any attempt to stop me, then you will no longer have a tongue to abuse others with."

Astrid watched everything unfold between the wizard and the other one that arrived late. She knew that she should probably do something to help, but to be honest she was rather amused by what was going on. It wasn't everyday that you would get called to a meeting with people you have no intention of getting on with. Astrid chuckled to herself, slumping in her chair and crossing her arms as she did so. This was truly a perfect view to watch the perfect drama to unfold...

The wizard looked at him with a raised eyebrow. "Really? You're quite asserting of position aren't you? If you haven't noticed, she held me at blade point. Do you want to be fed lies? I am giving you the truth. Cold hearted and what you will expect. You sir, are blatantly misunderstanding the whole situation, and I rather think this will be better without you. I may not be worth your blade, and I may have a habit of bad mouthing, being extremely cynical, yet that's life. You will meet men and women alike myself, but you care too much. You, have a lot to learn. Walk away, for all I care you'll simply be another man, unable to face something that could potentially save us all. Yet, I know most of these men and women will go and take that leap of faith. You disappoint me. Your behaviour, your words, and most of all your lack of hope. Go. Im waiting. Turn your back, and leave. No one is going to chase after you."

Xamien let out a heavy sigh and reached into his bag. He pulled out a piece of chalk and three small stones. He bent over and drew a circle as big as he was round and placed two stones on the side and one in the middle. Upon placing the third stone the entire floor shook as hundreds of spirits poured threw the newly opened portal. Then Xamien picked up a stone on the side and the portal closed. "THERE NOW THAT I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION LET'S ALL LISTEN TO ANYTHING ELSE THE WIZARD SAYS ABOUT THIS QUEST IF ANYONE WISHES TO LEAVE DO SO NOW. ALSO I APOLOGIZE FOR YELLING." The large man boomed to the small audience.

Tabitha opened heruth to say cometh ng but snapped it shut and grabbed her sword putting it away she then gently grabbed Bigg Daddy and looked it over very carefully for any scratches or marks her face now scrunched up in a scowl she sat down and folded her legs then went back to polishing Big Daddy

Einarr walked briskly to the door, fuming. He wanted nothing more than to leave this wretched city as soon as he could. As he swung the door open, he paused for a second, as if to reconsider. Einarr looked back at the group behind him one last time before he closed the door behind him. As Einarr left the palace, he wondered if the choice he made was right or wrong, but he figured that he did not have much time left to regret it anyways.

Cyra started in amazement as the man, who had yelled at the wizard actually left. She thought it were all false threats, but he had actually left! She then looked at the blonde mercenary who had seemed to accept that they were going on a quest. ‘well at least most people are still here’ she thought.

The wizard shrugged, before looking toward the large man again. "Thank you. NOW, having had that lovely entertainment, I will each hand you separate maps compasses, and notes of what to expect. After that, follow me to the armoury, then stables to get you equipped. Are we all agreeing with this? Any other disputes?"
