Fantasy The Core of Power

"So... what do you think of this great cage we have been locked in?"

Valerie's mood was a bit lightened by Erin's joking – in a terrible situation Valerie always felt uplifted by some sarcasm. "Tonnes better than your cheap-arse apartment. I mean, look at that sweet television set they've got installed here..." She said with a voice a that perhaps was bit too broken and low to carry the punch of her joke as she motioned at the screen.

When Erin and Outbreak spoke to each other Valerie somehow was ticked off. Didn't she know he was the cop-killer?! Valerie mumbeled something under her breath about really starting of at the wrong foot.

As the others continued arguing with the screen, Valerie herself began to actually ponder what they could possibly have on her. Some theft, assault and battery, perhaps they could threat her family? That'd probably do the trick, even if she hadn't talked to them since the day she was catalogued. Initially she figured that the best thing would be to resist, and try to still not get further involved. But as things proceeded that thought slowly faded only to be replaced by thoughts and wonder about what they had in mind for her. Exactly what role could she play in this campaign they seemed to be launching against The Black Fist? Her heart was still pounding hard, but she didn't feel as afraid as earlier, confused rather. She stayed true to her plan: Let's see what happens, let's see where this leads without getting involved in the discussion.

The man gave Outbreak a stare that could freeze water and said "What is there to say about it? You were responsible for several cop deaths including the murder of a 7 year old child. Not that it would matter if you just joined."

@rapjack123

He then turned his attention to the sound mutant. "Would you prefer Asher or Chorus? Again, a mutant who deals out whatever justice you see if. You lead a group that kills members of anti-mutant groups. I understand why, but you are killing people because they have a different opinion than you. That is what it boils down to. And what is "in it for you" is not being thrown into a cell for the rest of your life." He then turned his attention to Iris, not wanting to lose track of who had said something.

@Rook (your CS says your name is Alexander. Could you please change the CS or change the name you use in the RP.)

"I do not expect the Caverns will be any problem," the man said to Iris. "Just be careful. I cannot, however, guarantee any of you will make it back alive, but this is the best we can do and will have some of our best men with then and try to keep them all safe." Sentinel and Cricket walked out of the corner. Cricket had red, puffy eyes, though she still managed to look determined. It was about this time that Dash woke up.

"You two take care of each other and help the Caverns in any way as best as you can," Sentinel said. Dash was having problems processing this and his face showed shock. He was about to protest when the teleporter appeared, grabbed both of them, and teleported back to the room from which they had been taken. She then came back and took Iris away as well.

(@rosamortelle Feel free to make one last comment or two before Iris leaves)

He then looked starlight at Damien as best as he could from another screen. "Perhaps you misunderstand. You weren't all chosen randomly. We have video evidence of what most of you can do. At the very least evidence of you at the event earlier, and for some of you even more. You were chosen because you have potential, but because we can lock you up for the rest of your lives should you deny us. I'm trying to be as cooperative and easy going as possible, but orders are orders. In any case I figured you would at least be more willing to help mutants as a whole. I mean honestly; what do you expect the most powerful anti-mutant group to do with that kind of power? End world hunger? No, far worse." He stopped to let that sink in for a moment.

@Jabrark

Outbreak listened to what the monitor man had to say. He remained motionless for a moment. Then he spoke up after he finished talking, "You're wrong..." he waited for a bit before continueing, then he retold the story. "It was a carchase, I was trying to get away after getting caught stealing food. I lost control and crashed into a school playground. Knowing that I had nowhere to go, I broke into the school attempted to hide in there. The school went into lockdown, all the classroom doors were locked but I didn't try to open them. I never wanted those kids involved. Then the Chief officer took over the situation. I- I don't know how, I guess they knew that one of the kids was a mutant. He...brought down the doors of one classroom and grabbed the kid. Then he...put a gun to his head and told me...'if you don't turn yourself in right now, I will kill this child'," Outbreak paused for a moment. "'You got to the count of three' he told me. The kid looked at me, all shaking. But I didn't want to go back to the cell. I was hesitant. The chief counted '1...' I didn't move. '2...' he said. I looked at the kid, the look in his eyes finally made my decision. 'Alright, alright' I said, hands up, walking to him...and the chief just looked at me...," Outbreak swallowed a huge ball in his throat, taking a moment to take a deep breath. "He just look at me...and he said 'too late' and he..." Outbreak choked. He didn't want to say any more than that but he couldn't stop himself. "The kid fell to the ground, and all I saw was red. Red everywhere, and then I attacked the chief, sending my virus flooding into him. I killed him, blew up his arteries by destroying all his cells that held that blood...and I then I ran away. The chief thought he could've done it alone so nobody else was around...so I ran away. But he...the kid... wasn't part of it...he didn't need to be...and I shouldn't have ran into that school...or even hesitated...or even run away..." Outbreak fell silent. "That's your stupid story for all its worth... consider me part of your team..." he said, blankly staring at the floor, trying his best not to shed a tear. But it hurt, it hurt not to cry. He always thought he was tough...but held so much guilt over his head. Outbreak never killed anyone that wasn't part of the government. They had nothing to do with. Just like the kid he was framed for killing. Outbreak got up and walked to the corner. He sat down and decided he was going to remain quiet for the rest of this meeting. Outbreak closed his eyes so that he could take the rest of the meeting to pull himself together.

@Shog (only one I really talked to so...)

"I'm not saying I believe you," he said, "but there is a ring of truth in it. It explains why that was your only kill not involved with the government. I'm glad you're with us. I will personally look into that case again and see what I can do." He didn't want to push anything, so he remained quiet and waited for the others to speak.

Sentinel walked over next to Outbreak and sat down. A haze of gloom hung over the room. he released the metal except for his mask and reached over and tried to console him. He then remembered that he could not go the entire time with his mask on and, hesitantly, let it fade as well. It's true he didn't know much about Outbreak, but he believed he wasn't a bad person. He was just a bit misguided. Maybe all he needed was a friend that would try to understand and see it from his perspective. Just maybe.

Damion heard every word from Barry. It was a horrible encounter and it was worse to think humanity was capable of such atrociousness. Damion regarded Barry in a new respect. Everyone had their share of difficulties and terrible situations, especially in a world as twisted and apathetic as this one. Damion had lost a family, a sister, two sisters; it was hard to imagine what Barry could have lost. Damion edged closer to Barry, and placed his left hand on Barry, and release some paper from his arm and sent it to Barry. He sent it hovering in a roll down Barry's shoulder and to his arms; when they assembled in Barry's hand, they formed a single, small paper butterfly, with wings as blue as the sea, then he said, "Don't worry. You don't have to carry such a weighty burden anymore. Leave this to me." Then he turned back to the man in the video feed.

"Regarding my own case, I think
you misunderstand. You see, even if you tried to lock me up for eternity, I doubt you'd be capable. I've escaped from far worse situations than the cataloging, the only event in which I was taken captive by the government, or even these circumstances we're all in now, whether it be prisons, lairs, chains, or gates, I'll be able to escape. I still see no definite reason to help you. I'm perhaps more aware than you regarding the motives of Black Fist, I've dealt with them first hand on their playground. It might not have been pleasant, but I can easily say they weren't an issue. With that extent of power, I can speculate what they intend to utilize it for, and almost all of these speculations regard them using it mainly to increase their wealth, and massacring mutants in the process." Damion continued arrogantly, "Besides, I'm still debating joining you to begin with. I'd be remarkably wary of an association that doesn't do proper research on those they wish to persuade through force. Even if you know my power and weakness, video evidence of our abilities won't necessarily help you. And your knowledge of our pasts is abysmal; you had little knowledge of Outbreak's true case and have yet to put forth anything to accommodate my past. Perhaps if I knew that you were diligent in your abilities of strategy and research, I would be more inclined to join your acquisition of mutants," he challenged openly.

Damion knew exactly how to get information from the many times he associated with Black Fist. He had a history of tampering with them for taking actions against him and other mutants, kidnapping them for their own sick torturing, or even having small detachments their private armies roam around bullying them. Black Fist, at its roots, was just a large group of sadistic, entitled, wealthy children in entrepreneur's clothing. They do whatever it takes to raise their own incomes, and torment the mutant population along the way. These kinds of people made Damion sick to his stomach, and that was exactly what he saw today in this man. Even he treats them like nothing more than tools, thinking brute force and blackmail will be enough to enslave mutants; how detestable humanity was, military, government, anti-mutant, pro-mutant, it was all the same. Humans had the power to do whatever they wished because they took it from others, and now, because of the power mutants possessed, they sought to take our power from them simply for having it. Because that was impossible, they were content to villainizing and enslaving them, forging the excuse that mutants would be enlisted in the army to fight for the country. It was shocking how manipulative humans were, and yet, remarkable to see how manipulated they themselves could be. Two divisions of humanity that distinguished from each other, the wolves and the sheep. Those who are powerful and can influence the world however they desire, and those that can do nothing but be influenced, and biased in favor of that influence. From Damion's experience, some mutants are more human than humans themselves. If mutants were simply tools to be used, it was saddening, painful even, to think what pitiful beings humanity resembled.

Damion waited patiently for the response of the man when he felt something happen behind him with Barry. Damion pivoted his head to peer over his left shoulder, and was appalled by what he saw.

@rapjack123 @Shog

Byron thought a little about it. '' So you only know my powers. Ok, good enough. But please don't be a hypocrite. Those who have power such as yourself abuse their power way more than a mutant does. I am talking about the concept of power in general.I for one do not consider that I use my powers to cause injustice, as the system itself is injust to begin with. Oh, but don't get me wrong, I'll help you, as I have nothing to lose anyway'' said Byron, still having his Chain Snake mask on.

He had the chance to get more battle experience, as well as defeating a bunch of ''trash''. He got up , making his athletic body and height more obvious. Again ,only his red eyes could be seen through his mask. Then he remained silent, analyzing everyone arround him.

The man sighed and shook his head. "You honestly believe where we held you before was anywhere close to where we can put you? The room you are standing in is not the only of it's kind. We can lock you up nicely. As for the Black Fist, I know perfectly what they are capable of. My family was a known support group for mutant rights. The Black Fist ended that soon enough. My area of control is the Black Fist. I research and deal with them every day while you float around without a care in the world. I have the scars to prove it if you still doubt me. Anyway, you think we don't do "proper" research?" The screen changed to show a digital file of Damian. He slowly scrolled down as to let everyone read what they wished. Some of the more delicate information, or even just information that was not right to show, was blacked out for the moment. "We have pages on all of you. And it is not the video evidence of your powers, but evidence you were as a certain police massacre earlier. We can pin all of you as accomplices in murder. I agree that these tactics are blunt and simple minded, but I'm trying to help you here. My superiors would prefer if I just threatened you into submission."

"Damion" Sentinel said, interrupting their argument. "If you have dealt with them as you claim, then you know what they want with the Core. You will be helping millions of people across the world. I don't know about you, but I feel it is time to actually do something that doesn't simply revolve around myself and my immediate friends wellbeing." Damion was truly beginning to wear on his nerves. First he would try and start a war between him and Outbreak, and now he was arguing on saving peoples lives.

@Jabrark (Meant to post this earlier, but internet is being a derp. I will get @Azure Sky soon)

The mans face reappeared on the screen. "I have a lot more on you, Byron. I could show your file as well. While you don't think you are doing injustice, to the government of the country you live you are. The Black Fist does not consider what they are doing injustice. They believe they are humanities saviors. Try a new perspective for once. Before you say I should also, I have. It is required for my job and if I didn't then Sanctuary Caverns would have been raided long ago. Oh, and you make generalizations that are too far reaching to be accurate. You say people who have power abuse it more than a mutant does. Do you have the slightest clue how many known criminals gained powers and used them for themselves and hurt others? You say I am abusing my powers, but what do you honestly know? I was given this assignment by my superiors and gathered a team as efficiently as possible. This is all circumstantial, understand. now, if you want to talk about abusing power why don't we talk about you? You use your power to kill those you believe should die simply because you can."

@Azure Sky

@Shog

''Umm...no I didn't . Where did you get such biased information from? I broke the arms and legs of the two criminals who killed my father and tried to rape my mother. Given the same circumstances I'd do it again. Oh yeah, I also gauged one eye out from each. I still keep them as souvenirs. Other than that I never hurt innocent people...Your point is...?'' said Byron taking his mask off. He pretty much taunted them to see if they knew anything else.

Outbreak looked up for a moment an watched a small butterfly land on his shoulder. Soon after, Sentinel walked over and began to comfort him. He had a warm feeling growing inside him. He's never felt this before, no one has ever done this before. Everyone has always avoided him because they thought he was too dangerous. Is this what it meant to have a friend? This warm feeling inside him grew stronger and he smiled at Sentinel, who had revealed his face for the first time. Outbreak was rather surprised that he would trust him enough to take off the protection he had against his power. If Sentinel was trying to comfort him, it worked well. "Thanks," he said quietly. Outbreak looked up at the monitor and looked at Damion's files. He raised an eyebrow. Outbreak now had access to large swaths of information that probably should be secret so you could have a hand to play when finding yourself in difficult situations. Paper? And his weakness was Water...interesting. Outbreak would never have thought of it. He then got busy studying everyone else, paying special attention to those he didn't know much.

Then he listened to what another mutant had to say about the two criminals that messed with his family. Outbreak kept a straight face as he processed all the gory punishments that were inflicted upon them. Frankly, he was unimpressed because he has done worse. Outbreak's didn't change, it stayed neutral throughout the entire conversation, also taking into account how much Sentinel was supporting this mission.

To Conner's horror, the conversation had turned into everyone asking what the man on the screen had on them and then arguing with him about it. It seemed as if the main three antagonists just wanted their dirty laundry aired in front of people that, if he was getting it right, they were going to have to work with. He wouldn't want anyone to know the shit he had done, regardless of who they were. Who knew though, maybe it would help with team building. Conner nearly shouted in annoyance for them to shut up, but figured the end result wouldn't be that different.

He really just wanted to sleep- an impossibility with all the information to be gathered.

(Sorry, have two A-name characters -.-. I changed it @Shog )

Asher raised an eyebrow, impressed. They had said this room was underground, but could he really believe what the man said? He tapped the ground with his foot, creating a sort of echolocation vibration. it traveled into the wall, and stopped, confirming that they were underground. He didn't have anything to lose anyway. Why not work with the government once in a while?

But that would mean going against everything he stood for. The organized systems, the "justice" that they clung to so dearly, and most likely being stabbed in the back. Government was what put him in his position, and it was their idiotic cataloging law that caused his family to be marked for death. Everything seemed to be coming to bite him in the ass recently.

"Fine. I'll help you, seeing as i have no other option" he said. "And please... it's Chorus." Without another word he sat back down in his corner, resting his head in his hands. I was complaining about having a boring life... he thought to himself. He tuned out the rest of the conversations, and focused on a single point on the ceiling, waiting for something, anything to happen, other than arguing.

Damion was shocked to see that Barry had actually opened up his heart, as little as it was. He knew Barry would eventually come around completely, but patiently waiting for that day was really not that bad. As for Sentinel, he seemed to have a surprisingly simplistic view of the situation. It was never just about the life or death or even the wellbeing of all of these mutants; they could decide whatever they wanted; this association would only arrest those who refused to cooperate. Luckily for them, Damion planned to, but even if he planned contrary, they would never be able to catch him. As long as there was dry paper to be manipulated or formed, Damion had the upper hand. Water was only a minor issue when thinking about the vast amount of nitrogen in the air. If used sparingly, he could use nitrogen and form it with whatever hydrogen and oxygen was in the air. Damion had the advantage over any adversary; as long as his power could reach behind his foe, he could form paper there and easily strike down his opponent. A simple stab to the spinal nerve column was all it took to kill a human or mutant alike, and it goes to show that the previous world really came in handy when he needed it. Anatomy was most likely the one thing Damion valued most from his life in college, and it saved him in many dangerous situations. Damion ignored Sentinel, not bothering to waste time responding, and returned immediately to the man in the footage before he ran out of time.

"So you
are military; good to know. If what you say is true, then you won't have any problem revealing the blackouts. My information is more than enough, it's not something I hide, and definitely not something you can hold as collateral to force me into submission. I won't bow down to you so easily. So far, all of your information has been flawed in some way. How do you expect me to work with someone so neglectful? I've never killed an officer of the law, nor associated with anyone planning to do so, aside from Outbreak here this once. Your information is either flawed or manipulated, most likely the latter. Perhaps with some more thorough and accurate evidence, I'd find an obligation to join you. You haven't appeased my offer yet, and I can wait all day. Don't get me wrong, Black Fist is a group of scumbags who I'm more than happy to knock down a few sizes, but it's better to fight alone than with an unreliable ally," Damion retorted, "Since you gloat so much about your extensive and painstaking research of them, I assume you have access to their servers. Their database has some interesting files down there; a good read if I say so myself."

Damion had more than just intentions of working with the government to take down Black Fist, in fact, he was ecstatic to get to work, but there was no way in hell that he would become a senseless drone like they expect. He would aid them from the general's table, or not at all. That was the only way he could help, considering all of the knowledge he has leeched off of the heartless organization for the past month. He even discovered that the arson of his apartment building was a carefully instructional contract with a bounty equating to the cost of his shares in their company, and ever since, he resented the corporation for ruining the lives of dozens of innocent humans simply to perform a hit on him. The military had to know where to place him most effectively, and unless he proved himself, they would be the ones unprepared. He would beat it into their heads if he had to, but he would not let this information go to waste. Then again, Damion could always sneak back into the Black Fist headquarter building and snoop through their servers in the lower levels. He has done it many times before, several times on camera, but they were never able to stop him. He would always get in and out with whatever he needed, without ever harming a single soldier of their private army. Damion's ability with paper was truly a gift in such stealthy environments, especially when utilized to deceive guards. Paper clones, while notably expensive of his reserves, were remarkably useful for leading others astray. But that was besides the point.

Even now, Damion had the advantage. He possessed sensitive information that his captors want. They would be obligated to place him in a tactical position as long as he played his card right. Either way, he had a plan in case he was refused, though it was purely based on speculation. As long as that jumper girl returned, Damion would have a simple escape route if he had the right idea of her power, and would not have to bother searching the room at all. He might not be able to get everyone out, but that depended on his reaction speed. Damion waited patiently as the man responded.

@Shog @rapjack123 (By the way, it was formed from Damion's hand on Barry's shoulder into Barry's hand, not ever flown on his shoulder, or ever flown to begin with. But no big deal. ( ^_^ ))

"I agree that what you did in your parents name was just" he replied. "And the others? Do you think everyone you beet the crud out of survived? I mean honestly. Anyway, do you want to help save people or not?"

@Azure Sky

He then looked at Asher. "Thank you, Chorus. To be honest I figured you would be one of the hardest to convince. You truly are as intelligent as your file says." He meant every word he said.

@Rook

"Yes, I am military. Was this supposed to be some sort of secret? Now, my personal opinion of you is simple. You are and ass who sees what he wants to and nothing else. I was not holding your information as collateral, but showing you we have the knowledge and resources as you requested. I personally blacked out the statements because I thought that might be information you might not want publically known. I tried to be straight up nice to you and you manipulate it into some sort of threat. I understand you are in denial, but if you want to make a valid argument then you need to not only hear, but actually listen. Oh, and make valid points, that would help. For instance I never stated you had killed an officer of the law. What I did say was that because you were there tonight I can pin you as an accomplice. Why is this hard for you to understand? And why do you think I want you to bow down to me? I do not expect you to treat me as your superior, seeing as you are not, nor do I think you will, joining the military. All I want is cooperation and once this is done we can part ways. I will also have you know that your bluff is more obvious than you would like to admit. Every time you infiltrated a Black Fist building you came out empty handed in terms of knowledge. Their servers were all but shut down whenever you were attacked. We tried to use you as a distraction to get in ourselves, but the server remained totally inactive. Seeing as we are on a time limit, I will give everyone in the room 10 minutes to decide. Otherwise you can say hello to a new room almost identical to this one and make yourself comfortable." He then pulled up Damian's file again and let it run through without any blacked out areas.

@Jabrark

Iris nodded to the man on the screen and before the girl teleported her away Iris looked over at Sentinel and Outbreak. "Sentinel, make sure when Ella wakes up you move my coat off of her. Also Ella is under the coat. Oh and have whiny paper boy over there make a bag or something for Ella as well. You'll... You'll understand when she wakes up."

Iris then looked at the screen man one more time, "Sir it was a pleasure." Then Iris grabbed the teleporting girl's hand and she was gone.

@Shog (I know this is way to short but I wanted to post this while I catch up in reading.)

It had taken a while for Outbreak to come out of his state of depression. But now that he had left the school massacre aside, he was serious about analyzing the others. He was paying attention to the way the monitor man was acting. He was running out of patience with us. If Damion didn't step down now, things could turn ugly. As of right now, they weren't in a position to refuse him. The monitor guys wasn't going to take no for an answer. That was partly the reason why he decided just to agree with him. It was getting annoying being locked inside this box. He looked at Damion from his secluded corner and spoke in a bored tone.

"Damion, just say yes. It is obvious that together the government can't touch us, but right now, it is clearly not the case. Stand down now so I can get out of this wretched cell already. Once they take us out of this then we can start for leverage but now is not the time." Outbreak continued to eye him in all seriousness. Then he looked at the other mutant that was still challenging him. He didn't say anything but the mutant he was watching hasn't struck him with any respect yet. Outbreak wasn't taking him seriously. He stayed with his arms crossed, waiting to finally get out of this prison that he so despised.

@Jabrark @Azure Sky @Shog

My God, Conner thought as he read all the information on the mutant that had wanted the blacked out stuff revealed- Damion, the document said, Did he really just do that? He noticed that the room was less crowded, and shrugged it off as the teleporting girl doing what the screen man had asked. Finally, one of the other mutants told Damion to shut up. He was the virus guy, Conner observed, though it didn't really matter to him because it had finally been said by someone.

He realized he hadn't told the screen man who had confirmed he was military he was in, and realized that though it might be obvious to him, he might as well brush off the idiots in the room and tell the one on the screen that he was in. Really, was it necessary to bring him to this room? He knew, rationally, that it showed him a group that would be greatly helpful in a fight, but on the other hand, he wanted to sleep.

So, turning to face the screen, with an unamused look on his face, Conner said, "In case you didn't realize, I'm gonna do this," thinking to himself because I already was.

'' Yes I'll help you. I did say it before. Other than that don't expect me to feel sorry because I laid to waste a bunch of psychopaths'' said Byron. After he said that he went to sit in the back of the room , alone. It did not matter to him if he was respected, feared, hated, loved, admired or simply ignored. As he sat there he analyzed everyone in the room without seeming to care about the man on the screen anymore.

The opportunity to crush a bunch of ignorant, simplistic, disgusting, sadistic and abusive creatures which called themselves humans was really tempting for him, so he accepted anyway.

After a while, Outbreak decided to busy himself with identifying the mutant among them that was associated with the government. He didn't plan on doing anything but Outbreak felt he should know who he should be keeping his eye on. He had been studying each unknown mutant and began to rule out each one. He knew that the mutant he was looking for would be the least likely one to be arguing with the monitor guy. Outbreak picked off mutants one by one until he was left with only one. The mutant he was looking at hadn't said a single word. In fact, he looked shocked when him and the others were arguing with the monitor man. Very skeptical if you asked him. Then he spoke, alerting the monitor man that he was joining them. In case you haven't realized... was he assuming that the monitor man already knew he was joining? And that voice. He's heard it before. He thought about it for a moment before he finally remembered whose voice it was. That mutant was the government guy that was speaking to Sentinel in the sewers. Outbreak continued to look at him, studying his behavior but his expression remained emotionless. Then he raised his hand, like a school boy trying to grab the teacher's attention.

"Uh, are done here? I wanna get out of here," he said to the monitor man. It was become very irritating that he was still here. As far as he was concerned, he was done. Nothing left to do here.

@mikaluvkitties @Shog

The man smiled at Outbreak. "Of course. Everyone who has excepted will be teleported to a briefing room where they can eat and have a moment of rest. The rest of you, however, will stay here until you make your decision." The teleporter popped in and grabbed both him and Outbreak, since they were right next to each other and Outbreak was the first to publicly say he wanted out. They were in what looked like normal meting room with rolling desk chairs, but food covered the table. There was everything from donuts to ham to salad. Nick didn't know what to grab first, so he just chose the thing closest to him.

@everyone

Ella who had been teleported bridal style by the teleporting mutant was laid down on the floor. As soon as her head touched the ground, Ella's eyes snapped open. Her normally dull red/pink irises were a bright blood red color and veins appeared all over the whites of her eyes. Ella slowly blinked a few times as she started to regain her vision, the veins in her eyes claiming back down. To Ella her limbs felt heavy and when she tried to move them, she barely got them to go an inch. However Ella was able to make it to a semi-sitting position as she rubs her eyes. Her head felt like it had become a balloon and Ella felt incredibly nauseous even though her stomach was empty. Yet none of this concerned Ella for it was how she normally felt after mutated her blood from one type to another. Ella just hoped that she wouldn't puke right away.

With her sight still blurry, and her body shaking Ella still thought she was back at base. "Hey... I-Iris I have the blood you need n-now," Ella said in a very hoarse tone. When Ella didn't hear Iris respond she got a bit worried. Especially when she felt Iris's coat on her lap. Ella knew that Iris never took off her coat and that meant if Ella had it something wasn't right. "I-Iris? Wh-what's going on?"

@anyone by ella

The same mutant asked if they were done, and Conner was actually kinda starting to like the guy. Especially if it meant he got to sleep. Which apparently it did if the screen guy was telling the truth. It was apparent he was when people started disappearing from the room, and Conner was fighting back tears of relief as finally the female teleported him to a new room. Even though Conner had been more prepared for the experience of teleporting than he had been the first time, he still wasn't one hundred percent ready, and was left a bit queasy and dizzy from the ride.

There was tons of food, which might have been great if it weren't for the fact he wasn't hungry. There was a girl who looked like she was waking up, the mutant Conner decided he liked, and someone somehow shoving food down their throat, but Conner didn't really pay attention to any of these people, eyes drawn instead to the rolling chairs by the table. Wordlessly, he pulled two over into a corner and put them together so that the seats were touching with no interference from the back or sides.

Conner climbed in, knowing it probably wasn't the most stable construct, but positive it would be comfortable and worth it. He curled up, fading in and out of consciousness for a bit.

Outbreak stood in awe of the at the lush variety of foods that were at the table. He limped as fast as he could and wolfed down as much food as he could. He hadn't eaten in days since he ran out of supplies. Outbreak was so famished that every bite of food was a heaven in and of itself. He gulped down a whole glass of water to help the food down his throat and continued to suck food into his mouth like a black hole. Amidst eating he saw the girl that was helping him with his wounds land on the ground and wake up. He noticed she seemed to be in state of disorientation. Outbreak knew that she was not awake during the entire meeting. She even seemed to start to panic a bit. Outbreak felt a bit of sympathy towards her. With half a sandwich in his mouth he grabbed an apple from his plate and walked over to her. He knelt down and offered it to her. Then Outbreak realized she had a look that she was going to throw up. Taken by surprise, he looked around frantically for a moment, trying to find some sort of bag but there was no such thing. He needed to find a solution of the floor would become a mess. Outbreak winced when he thought of something that could serve as a solution. Reluctantly, he took the sandwich from his mouth and placed it on the table with the apple. Slowly he took off his hoodie and offered it to her. The last thing Outbreak wanted to do was get his only set of clothes dirty. But it wasn't like they were dirty enough and besides, it was the least he could do to pay her back for helping him.

"Here...if you need to, use the hoodie as a bag," Outbreak said, bracing himself for what he was expecting to come. I hope I could wash this later...I'll have to talk to that monitor guy when I get the chance, see if he could do me a favor and do my laundry, he thought, amusing himself a bit. Then he looked up at the table and saw his sandwich. Remembering that he was hungry, he grabbed it a put it back into his mouth.

Nick had been deep in thought when Ella woke up and he didn't even notice. it was only when Outbreak left the table of food he noticed the state she was in. He quickly scanned the room and found a small black trash can on the other side. There was no way he could get there in time and made up his mind. He walked up next to her and Outbreak and kneeled down. "Don't worry about it Outbreak" he said. "Who knows the next time you could get that thing washed? Here, use this." He held his hand out and created a metal bowl that she could use. He just had to make sure to stay connected to it or it would disappear. "Outbreak, there is a small trash can on the other side of the room. Could you grab that? Hopefully that will be the first recipient of whatever comes up." He then turned his attention back to Ella. "This will be a bit disorienting, but it's the truth. There was a pair of government moles in the Caverns. One could teleport and took everyone in the room we were in, as well as a few others, to a completely secure room. We were offered a deal to find the Core and stop the Black Fist from getting their hands on it. Iris did some negotiating and was taken back to the Caverns to help the mutants there. Her and other leaders of the Caverns were given immunity. She said she did what she thought you would want her to do. A few others are back debating what they want to do. I traded myself for Dash and Cricket. They have immunity, but I'm not coming back after this. I know this is a lot to take in, but I need you to promise me something. When this is all over and you return to Sanctuary Caverns, take care of them. They have had a rough life even before the Core hit and are the only family they know any more." He stopped to take in a deep breath and calm himself. He almost lost focus causing the metal bowl to disintegrate slightly, but he quickly reformed it.

Byron was teleported with the rest of the people who accepted the offer, but he didn't try to chat with them immidiately, instead he stood there, distanced from the rest, with his mask off, eating some sea food. He looked at everyone with his red eyes , analyzing them. They were Ella's friends, but it didn't hurt to be cautious. Too many things happened and many more where to come.

After some time, Byron decided to break the ice. He walked towards them, casually and with a small smile. ''Hello, considering that we will work together on this mission, I'd like to present myself to you. I am Byron, otherwise known as Chain Snake. Pleased to meet you'' he said on a calm tone. In reality, he was very sensitive and perceptive to people's reactions so he awaited their response, but not just the verbal one. He was going to be very careful at their body language as well. After all, Byron needed to know his future comerades better.

Erin wanted to know more about the black fist before she truly made her decision... but she didn't really want to call attention to herself, either. Barry had gotten caught up in the discussion and had ended up agreeing, and was teleported away with the rest of the people who had agreed.

Erin's gaze moved about the room, seeing consideration or determination on the other faces who had not spoken up. Some of them just looked unsure all together... She sighed. She didn't like this type of coercion in being forced to help. Yes, help us or die. That's definitely the way to win us over. If they had just asked instead of person-napping us, I may have actually considered the offer. It would be fun to be a super hero, afterall... but when the good guys seem just as bad as the bad guys... I have on interest making a contract with such people.

Taking a seat near a wall and continuing to observe the mutants that gave in and were taken away, Erin wondered if she was really ready to die for such a thing. Would they leave them in here to rot? She actually wouldn't put it past them... and who was she to be so special as to be missed if she refused. She wasn't some all powerful mutant... The best she could do was be the eyes and ears, not the fighter. And in this fight, eyes and ears, though of course needed, probably wouldn't entirely make or break the end game. Besides, they probably already had someone who could do the job just as well as her. Finally, finally, Erin spoke up- shouting for everyone to hear:

"I WOULD RATHER DIE THEN WORK FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS GIVEN ME NO CHOICE BUT TO HELP THEM OR DIE!" And Erin hoped she had the strength to stand by those words.
