Fantasy The Core of Power

Conner mentally cursed at Vittra's question, trying to come up with a convincing lie at this time of night. The best lies contain a grain of truth, he thought, smiling when Erin wished him good luck. He was too tired for this. Then Erin mentioned her power and he knew that he'd eventually be asked about his. It wasn't that he couldn't tell them what they wanted to know, but that he didn't want to.

"If you really wanna know," he began, speaking slowly so he had more time to think, "I work for the government." It came out fast and quiet, and Conner was surprised he had said it at all. He figured that if they knew his job, he might as well say what he could do, notably slower than before, "And I can control the dead."

"As for what the project is," he paused. Was he even allowed to say? The person on the phone hadn't specified, and he'd already gotten this far already, "There's an anti-mutant group- very powerful- that now has the resources to find the Core. I'm supposed to look for allies to stop them." He braced himself for their response, hoping he'd at least be able to sleep inside tonight.

"Huh that does explain the slight accent then." Ella had been pondering his voice for a while, but it had been pushed to the back of her head at the time. She was about to ask more, but stopped when Sentinel talked about the mutant test. Suddenly Ella felt grief for the new trio as she figured they all probably had the test done to them.

"That really stinks that they labeled you man. I always feel bad for everyone who gets labeled mutant. Like it's bad enough that someone get powers, but then it's worse when some doctors come and tell the poor kid that they are a mutant and not a human being anymore. Especially for the ones that we rescue from government camps on our outreach missions. They always tell me how they feel like weapons or monsters and it makes me cry. I'm really glad that they never labeled me." Ella said.

"That's when Maddie intervened the conversation. "Speaking of missions that we do, don't you think that we should be focusing on this one Ella? the patrols don't come here anymore, but that don't mean we've got much time to be on the surface. The black fist to close to grabbing us last supply run and I ain't doing any fighting other then what is necessary tonight. Which will hopefully be none."

Ella immediately apologized, saying "Right, right, sorry Maddie. Okay so Sentinel and Dash I want you by Maddie at all times. She will need your skills to aide hers. Lucas and Cricket your by me. When in doubt I want a smokescreen to save our butts and a someone good with a gun to protect our coverage. Remember that our goal tonight is scavenge and take everything that we can, that is needed. The college is already throughly scavenged so we're going to have to hit the streets. That means more police patrols and anti-mutant groups will be in our way. If something happens where we come in contact with them, find a place to hide and go back to The Sanctuary Caverns when its safe. So basically, be careful, stay together, and we should be fine."

Ella morphed her Jewelry back into her glass armor. Then she waited for the group to respond. Which started with Maddie standing next to Dash and Sentinel wrapping her arms around their shoulders. Then the Bandaged kid Lucas stood next to Ella.

@Shog

Nick watched Cricket move next to Ella and flinched when Maddie flung her arm around his shoulder. "Let's get going then." Some of the metal oozed out of his face and formed a basic helmet. It clung tightly to his face, but extended past his nose a bit and ended with a corner. From the top of his head the metal sloped downward to form an edge at his brow line. The back of his head followed the same pattern but ended in a point much sooner. Along his cheeks were three slits on each side. Near his chin they curved down and at the other end they curved up, but it was straight in between. His eye holes were right against his face and followed a similar design to the breathing slits (the shape is like this: http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/8/5/3/1/8/2/webimg/284124191_tp.jpg). Normally he would put full armor on, but he didn't want to make a bunch of noise or have it slow him down.

@rosamortelle (I will remember to put this in the original post some time)

"Erin, I..." Valerie didn't know what to make of the situation. For some reason she, just like Erin, didn't want to get out of the whole mess on the expense of someone else. She had to block an incoming impulse to sit herself up and properly face Erin, for she knew her head would just start spinning again if she did. So she lay still on her side, still locking her hair with her index finger, not realising it might make her look a bit cocky and nonchalant. "Listen, there was no way I could've known you were stalking the guy." She tried "But if you'd rather save your own skin by turning me in, that is fine by me. As long as I get to keep-..." She stopped mid-sentence. Right, the money! It's still in the pocket of my jacket. I'm being careless! She glanced at her white duffel, still hung over the her chair by the table, before she began anew: "So, who hired you? I mean, I'd at least like to know who I'll be running from. Not the police I hope?" Valerie honestly hoped for it not to be the police, for as much as the police and government was concerned she was a harmless mutant and they only kept a small tab on her right now. If they found out she had developed more powers they probably wouldn't let her roam the streets so freely any more.

When Conner revealed the truth about his job, Valerie became afraid. She didn't like the fact that he worked for the government. If Conner found out who she really was, and reported it, she'd be in trouble. She was somehow less afraid and more curious about the other part of what Conner had just said. The Core, as in the meteorite? Valerie had heard people talking about something called The Core many times, supposedly it was what turned people into mutants. The idea of a powerful anti-mutant group having access to it sounded like a bad thing in all kinds of ways. But she had also heard that any attempts mounted to find The Core had proven to be utter failures, and therefore remained calm even if Conner said that this group had the means to find it.

She rolled on her back and looked up into the celling. Her head spun for a while and she had to fight to fix her eyes at one spot before her view slowly became stable. I must get the hell out of here.

@RubyRose @mikaluvkitties @Defective Kitten

Erin shook her head. "I'll figure out something else... I just have to complete the job for street credit reasons." Erin replied. "And under contract I can't actually tell you who it was. That's giving away confidential information." She was a little shocked how willing Vittra seemed to be about just allowing Erin to finish her job. Well... Erin could check the photos in the morning and worse comes to worse Erin would tell the wife that he wasn't having an affair at the moment... because, though he had meant to, he hadn't had one. That Erin had caught. So Erin figured she could just tell the wife about the drug dealing and then if the wife asked about the attack she could say she left before that happened. Hopefully there hadn't been any street cameras to catch the actual scene... if Erin was caught in a lie she could pretty much conclude her job as being over.

At Conner's admittance of who he worked for, Erin's eyes widened. There was a point in time where Erin would have thanked Conner and fawned over him for being part of the government. Unlucky for Conner that time was before the event hit that caused the mutants. Because ever since then Erin has felt like the military and government had gone against her for something she didn't even get a choice in. And from there she had to admit that she had grown to loathe the people that worked for the government. How could a fellow mutant do this to them? It felt like a huge betrayal... Erin's gaze narrowed at Conner but she wasn't going to kick him out... not yet, anyway. Keep your enemies close and all that.

So Conner's job was to get a group together to work for the government? In Erin's mind this was becoming more and more a choice of 'fight for the government to destroy other mutants' or 'fight with the people who already hate you and want you dead.' There had to be some third option somewhere, something that would allow Erin to fight with mutants for mutants... She didn't want to become some government dog, that was for sure. And she didn't want to stand on the sidelines- that's worse than fighting for the government.

The little tidbit that Conner could control the dead made Erin give a few Kudo points back to the boy. Controlling the dead was probably a pretty useful power, depending on... Erin wondered if he had any limits but he looked far too exhausted to continue being questioned.

Well, I know what I'll be spending time doing tomorrow. Erin sighed inwardly, wondering if she had any contacts that might help her find the leads she needed to reach that third option.

Byron had a nice sleep. He was walking through the streets of New York wearing his special glasses with his bag behind his back. After a while he reached something he called his secret place. He changed in his Chain Snake attire and started doing some parkour. He beat a few thugs throughout his adventure. After that he simply got down from the buildings and took a walk to the ruins of what was once a college fraternity although ruins wasn't a completely correct term as they sank underground because of the Core.

Byron liked coming to that place. He felt refreshed for some reason. A place where no one bothered him. He simply started doing martial arts training as well as training to improve his chain manipulation.

Wearing his hooded white jacket and black mask ,through which only his red eyes with slit-shaped pupils could be seen, as well as black gloves and military pants and boots, even if someone saw him, they wouldn't recognize him.

He was alone, though. No one could find him there...Right?

Ella was slightly grossed out when Sentinel made his gear from metal liquid. She was quite impressed as well, but mostly grossed out. In the midst of figuring out if she was intrigued or grossed out Ella heard something coming from a crumbled building near them. Worried, ella immediately started moving. "Okay guys lets move, its not good to stay in one place for long nowadays."

Maddie laughed as she followed Ella, "Right behind you Ella."

Ella led the group out of the rubble of the college. Once she was sure they hadn't been followed, she sighed with relief and started down the streets that led to the Caverns main food supplier. As they had traveled the streets they were able to collect some food and had been in the clear, up until they came to a divided street. Normally this wouldn't have been a problem for Ella would normally take the left street where not many apartments were. However, at the end of the street there was a police patrol blocking their way. Luckily the patrol hadn't noticed the group which gave Ella time to come up with a distraction plan. She looked back at the group behind her and spoke quickly knowing she only had a few minutes. "Okay so I am going to do something really stupid. When I do that stupid thing you guys are going to run down the left street as fast as you can without getting hit by my stupid idea. The market where we will get the rest of our food is just down this street go in the back door and say Hope lurks in the underground they will know what to do."

With that Ella moved from the group down to about the center of the street way. The distance between the two apartment buildings was perfect for what Ella needed. Standing with her hands out Ella took a deep breath in and felt herself bond with the molecules of the glass windows around her. The more she bonded the more the windows shook and cracked. As she reacted to the molecules Ella, using all her will power, contracted the reaction energy into her arms. Then she exhaled and swung her arms together. All around her the windows of the apartment buildings shattered causing a shower of glass to fall in to the Alleyway. It was a big enough shower to allow the group to run through, however Ella couldn't move. She had never used that much energy before, and she was feeling faint. When she tried to move, all Ella did was fall to her knees.

@Shog (Hope this is okay and doesn't seem GM or anything.)

Nick was about to ask what Ella was going to do, but she ran off too quickly. He knew better thany yet to follow her and waited as instructed. When she broke the glass he started moving, knowing this had to be what she meant. However, it was obvious that move had drained her and she was going nowhere fast. As he ran he picked her up and carried her away to where it would be a lot safer. That might not be for a while and he didn't know how far he could take her. "Hey, I need to put you down soon. How does an appartment building sound?"

Byron almost finished his training when he caught sight of two people: a man who carried a woman who seemed to be hurt. They were at about 30 meters away so he took off his mask and ran towards them. Because of his Olympic-level speed he got near them in 3 seconds. He did that without thinking, but when he realized it it was too late.

He had his mask off and he didn't put his special glasses on so his red eyes with slit pupils were visible. ''Right now it's obvious for them that I am a mutant, but I hope they don't mind that much'' thought to himself Byron. After 2 or 3 seconds he asked: '' Hey, do you need help?''.

Erin had just been settling in, ready to sleep, drifting off as she listened to the others talk... then CRASH! The windows all shattered, throwing glass everywhere. Afraid that they were under attack, she didn't think to stop and check on the others. Instead she ran over to the window, looking down the street. There was glass everywhere. From more buildings than that of her apartment building... so at least she knew that they weren't under direct attack (something she had considered first because of having a mutant under the military and another with an unknown back story in her home).

It took a moment but she soon spotted two people down below- it wasn't clear if they were running to or from something... and upon closer inspection she realized that one of the people were carrying someone. Erin wasn't sure if she wanted to get involved in this or not... she was sure if the entire block had been hit that insurance would pay for the damage and honestly she wasn't sure if she wanted to try helping anyone else that night. She already had a bloody government worker in her home, she didn't want to have to deal with any other unpleasant surprises.

Soon the sounds of complaint were coming from all sides as other people came to their window to investigate. "What happened?" someone asked. "Mutants." Another replied. "I don't know why the government allows those things to live near us. They're dangerous!" "Too right." "Just look what they did to the windows!"

"What was the purpose of shattering all the windows?" Erin mused. "Attention? Because if so, they've got it now." And for the second time that night Erin heard sirens in the distance. She only questioned it for a moment... obviously glass shattering wasn't an entirely safe event. In fact, Erin had been so full of adrenaline she didn't notice her own wounds- light cuts on her arms, some wounds on her hand where she had stupidly gripped the window, and damage to her feet from running over the glass. As she noticed the wounds they seriously began to hurt- funny how that works. Grumbling in annoyance Erin went to get her medical kit, careful of the glass strewn over the floor this time, also grabbing up her broom. It took a few moments for her to clean the glass off the floor... and by the time she was back to the window the figures were out of sight. "I wonder who they were... and where they went." She mumbled to herself, watching from her window as she carefully wrapped her hands.

"The mutants should be killed." She heard someone complain. "They don't belong with us." Someone else agreed. "If not destroyed, at least locked safely away."

Erin's gaze narrowed at all the negativity being spoken. She desperately wanted to argue back- tell them off for their narrowminded views... but that usually arose people's suspicions and they'd start to believe you were a mutant. Erin didn't need noses prying into her life at the moment. "Maybe it's not the mutants who need to be destroyed." Erin said angrily under her breath.

Ella hadn't realized that Sentinel had picked her up. She was still watching as the rest of the group had run to the food supplier. When she did notice that Sentinel was carrying her, Ella knew that they weren't going to make it in time to the others. She looked up at Sentinel's face when she heard him faintly speak. Her ears were still ringing from what she did, but she understood him.

"Y-yeah just get us somewhere that is-isn't here." Ella felt like an idiot when she heard herself talk. She wanted to face palm herself but she couldn't. Her arms were bloody from all the glass that had cut her and the pieces that stayed lodged in she had morphed to seal some wounds. Ella didn't even turn her head when the new voice near her spoke up or the voices of angry citizens behind them.

(Sorry it is short I am on a time crunch today.) @Shog / @Azure Sky

Valerie had just got the upper hand in the battle against her spinning head when she was knocked of the horse by the loud crash of windows blown to smithereens all across the street. Her reflexes had her coil up in the bed and the hasty motion had her head rock and she saw stars again.

She had not been as quick to get on her feet as Erin, and she was happy for her spinning head slowing her down. Now Valerie just had to watch Erin pick the tiny pieces of glass out of her feet. Valerie had of course got up eventually, and started to put her clothes back on in quite a hurry. But when she had realised that it wasn't a threat directed directly towards her, and when she saw Erin so calm, she started helping Erin out with cleaning up the mess instead of panicking further. She did still proceed to put her boots on however, for who knew what small pieces of glass that still lurked on the floor?

“They are right, you know. It was probably a mutant who did this...” Valerie said with a sigh as she picked up some larger shards of glass from the floor. “I wish I wasn't one. You know, being normal had been so fucking helpful right now.” As she went to put the glass shards away she looked outside through the shattered window, peeking her head outside just as many others did in the surrounding apartments. Wonder what just happened? She tried her best to spot anyone at down at the street and tried to make out what had actually happened.

Nick looked at the new arrival through the metal mask. He was clearly a mutant as well, so he was not too concerned. "If your strong, take her" he said making a small gesture to Ella. "We need to get somewhere safe and fast." He heard the cops behind them start to close in. There was no way Nick could get away while carrying Ella.

@rosamortelle @Azure Sky

Realizing he wasn't about to be kicked out, Conner settled onto the floor to sleep. However, just as he was about to fall asleep, chin resting on the sleeping bag he had been given, the glass in the windows shattered. It took him a second to realize something had happened, and as soon as he knew his eyes snapped open, staring at the window, seeing Erin. He debated getting up to see what was going on, but decided if it was anything that would compromise the safety of the apartment she wouldn't keep it to herself.

When Erin just let out an annoyed grumble, Conner visibly relaxed, watching awkwardly as she cleaned up the glass and nursed her wounds, carefully trying to block out the hatred being directed at mutants by humans. Then he heard Vittra, not quite understanding her sentiment, but trying to stay open to it.

"I guess I get that," he admitted, barely above a whisper, "Can't connect with that, but I get it."

(Hey guys, I'm new in the RP, so if any of you want to read more about my character, his profile is in the character sign up, and don't worry I've read the story up to now so I know what's going on)

Barry walked silently down the street, with his hoodie up, hiding his face. He kept his hands in his pockets and approached a street corner. Another day with no score. He's running out of food and options to get them. Pretty soon he'd be forced to go and negotiate with the crooks in the sewers. Barry made a right and saw that the street was blockaded with cops. Barry looked up, surprised for a moment, but then his expression turned grim. All of a sudden he watched a girl run and suddenly, shattered all the glass around him. He looked down to prevent the shard from hitting his face. Then he saw several more people run from an alleyway and make a break for it. Some stopped to help the girl, who seemed to collapse. Then he watched a newcomer come from further down the street at astonishing speeds. They're mutants... and the cops are going to try to get them, he thought.

He started walking up from behind the cops, then he silently walked past them. One of the cops rushes up to Barry shoves him to the side saying, "Get out of the way kid!" Then suddenly, the cop collapsed, entirely unconscience. Barry stopped, recalling the virus back into his body. The cops all turned to him, they're eyes staring intently. "Stay right where you are! Remove your hoodie!" one cop called out. Barry smiled, "Alright then." Barry turned to them a took off his hoodie showing an expression of insanity. The cops backed up, fearful of Barry. "Y-you're....Outbreak..." one cop muttered. Barry laughed hysterically, "That's right! Consider yourselves...INFECTED!" he said, looking at them with murderous eyes and a sinister smile. Then, suddenly, the cops started bending over, some started vomiting, others grabbed their heads, yelling at the top of their lungs, others groping their necks, unable to breath. All except one cop collapsed on the floor. Barry walked over to him and grabbed him by the collar. "Y-you monster!" the cop cried out. Barry laughed. He laughed long and hard, seemingly in a state of ecstasy. After calming himself, he wiped a tear from his eye. "Sigh, that just cracks me up. You know hearing that word makes me think about all those times the government locked me up, alone, in a cell for months, treating me like a stray dog. I can't help but wonder...who the real monster is..." Barry told him, his voice deadly quiet. Then he dropped the cop and he fell to the floor with only a nose bleed. None of the cops showed any signs of life, all laying motionless on the street.

Barry watched them for a moment, staggering a bit, his crazy expression quickly fading and replaced with a face of calm. He was exhausted, that much energy was not easily recovered. He turned to the others down the street and raised his hands, signifying that he meant no harm. "You're safe now," he told them, wearing a warm, friendly smile.

"I'd rather everyone become mutants." Erin replied angrily, her eyes narrowing. "That or all who aren't mutants just cease to exist. This prejudiced crap is really getting old." Erin said as she and Vittra finished cleaning up the glass. "I don't want to be normal, I want to be accepted- by whatever means possible." She finished, glaring over at Conner as if daring him to say something on it.

Erin returned to the window, looking down at the street where lights seemed to be flashing everywhere. Erin had never seen so many police cars in her life, and every now and then she spotted an ambulance as well. Erin clenched her fists for a moment, wanting to just go right back to sleep but her curiosity was eating at her. She wanted to know who had caused it and why, and possibly pay them back for causing further hatred against mutants.

"I've got to go check this out." Erin said, finally giving in. She slipped her feet into her shoes, grabbed her camera, her jacket, and double checked to make sure she had her lucky penny in her pocket before heading to the door. "The rest of you are free to stay here or come with, whichever you prefer." She said, waving her hand nonchalantly. With that she left her apartment, heading down the stairs. She was late in heading after the crooks, but hopefully she'd be able to find them.

Erin's harsh reaction caught Conner off guard, and he found himself lifting his head up to look at her, arms up as a sign of peace, sleeping bag dropping to the floor forgotten. even if her words made him feel a bit uneasy.

"No problem," even if he did kinda want to point out it was just what they had had ingrained about the unknown in action, he didn't want to start a fight with the person providing a roof over his head this late at night. Besides, these people really had no justification for suggesting genocide, even if genocide wasn't really the right way to retaliate... Anyways, he was awake now and he had a feeling he wasn't going to be able to sleep for a while after the whole glass incident, even if there was a faint hint permanent tired in the back of his head.

At the mere suggestion of leaving the room Conner was on his feet going to the door, knowing he would get bored without a task in mind. He slipped on his shoes and followed out after Erin, momentarily forgetting the rain, only remembering as he went onto the steps. Oh well, he thought, already wet as it is, trying to keep up with Erin.

''Very well'' answered Byron. He took Ella and carried her in his arms. Because of his Olympic-level condition he considered her quite light. ''Follow me and make sure you can keep up'' he then said to Nick. After that he started to run very fast, not inhumanly fast but to a level almost no humans could reach. His intention was to bring the two people he wanted to save in a safe and hidden place and he knew exactly where to go.

Because he took a better look at Nick and the fact that his red eyes didn't bother him at all made Byron realise that the two people he was trying to help where mutants like himself. Why do normal people despise mutants? Because they have powers they're not considered human anymore? That is a simplistic fear brought up by retarded people. The world is full of retarded people though, not to mention a rotten justice system. This is what Byron thought as he ran towards a safe place while carrying Ella and making sure Nick could keep up.

Barry watched the group as they tried to run away from the scene. He ran after them, acknowledging that they needed a place to hide. "Hey!" he called out. "I can help you find somewhere to hide. Follow me!" Barry indicated that the group would have to follow him through an alleyway, but it was a short route and very subtle. Barry was sure no one would find them there. That's why a high-profile mutant like him has been able to stay low. If there was anyone that knew places to hide, it was him. Those fucking anti-mutants. They deserve to die and burn in hell. I'll kill them all. Then we'll see who's the one with power... I swear I'll kill them all. He thought to himself. Of course now wasn't the time. He needed to help these mutants to safety. Barry looked at them tentatively, waiting for their decision.

“I'd rather have no-one being mutants at all. It's safer that way...” Valerie mumbled (sort of to herself) after noticing Erin's glare. Deciding it was best not to go down the road that this topic would follow, Valerie remained silent for a while, still helping out with tidying the place up after what had happened.

When Erin announced that she was going to leave the apartment Valerie decided to go with her. Already having her boots on all she had to do was to put the jacket and scarf on before she was ready to leave the apartment and hit the streets. As the group made it down the stairs Valerie pulled her scarf up as a mask again. She was excited but worried; on the one hand, they could find out who these people were, but on the other hand, she wasn't ready for a situation gone out of control since her head was still spinning.

Nick started running after the mutant, silently hoping he wasn't military. He was fast, that's for sure. Then a voice called behind him said something about bringing them to safety. The cops had stopped, well, everything. He was some laying motionless on the ground. That hopefully meant they were just unconscious, but he found that unlikely. He figured they were either playing dead and the person was setting a trap, or they were simply dead, and that didn't settle well with him. He turned back to the person carrying Ella and said "Keep moving." He just ignored the unfamiliar person behind him, hoping he wouldn't pursue.

@rosamortelle @Azure Sky @rapjack123

Ella who was tilting on the line of conciousness had barely felt herself move into the strangers arms. As he ran she felt herself sink lower into his grip, her hair strewn across her face from the slight wind built by the person's running. Ella would've never been concerned about this situation if she hadn't realized where they were heading. She couldn't be sure about it but just before she blacked out she noticed they were heading in the direction of her old college. Afraid that was where they might be headed, Ella used the last bit of her strength to tug on the strangers shirt. "Tur- turn arou-" Ella fell back into the person's arms eyes rolling shut. As the black surrounded her vision she hoped that they would do as she said.

@Shog @Azure Sky (Also if that isn't where your going then my apologizes)

Barry called out again. "Hey!" but it was to no avail. The group turned around and ran off. Damn, he thought. He turned around only to see an overwhelming amount of cop cars arriving on the scene. Barry ran behind a parked car for cover. As the cops got out and took cover behind the doors, they all pointed their guns at him. He notices a dead cop still had a pistol with him. It wasn't much but he didn't have nearly enough energy left to take them all down. Getting open wounds on them would definitely make it much easier for him to infect them. Barry checked how much ammo he had. Eight in the chamber. Gotta make every shot count, he thought. A cop called out from the megaphone, "We've got entirely surrounded. Please move from the car with your hands in the air." Barry jumped from the cover and fired all eight shots at once, landing every single one on a cop. Barry smiled, maniacally, "Over my dead body!" he yelled, defiantly. Eight cops suddenly dropped, causing confusion among the others.

He saw a vacant cop car and Barry decided to make a break for it. He ran from his cover towards it. He hides behind another vehicle that was located just by it. It was only a few feet away. Then he heard a voice. He looked around and saw a dead cop. The voice was coming from the walkie talkie. "I've got him in my sights..." it said. Barry's eyes widen. Another voice talks into the walkie talkie, "Take the shot." Barry bolts for the cop car. Too late.... A deafening boom shatters his eardrums and a piercing pain erupted from his shoulder. He loses his balance and falls to the ground from the sheer force of the impact from the bullet. He had to get out. A panicked look was etched all over his as he scrambled to his feet. Then, another boom rang in the air, and this time his thigh was hit. Barry fell back down. This time, he couldn't get up. He crawled to the car, but it felt so far away. There was a moment of utter silence. Barry gave a raspy gasp...then the third shot was fired. His stomach felt like a giant needle had just been driven into his stomach. He lay motionless in the middle of the street. He watched the group run away from him. He reached out, looking at their backs, pleading that they..."help," he chocked out.

Hearing two sets of footsteps outside of her own told Erin that two people had decided to follow her. Looking back, she noticed it was both Conner and Vittra. It annoyed Erin to have the government boy with them but... perhaps he could be useful in the end. Erin also considered what Vittra had to say- for everyone to be human again. Perhaps that would make things better... but Erin had also grown attached to her powers- they had gotten her out of some tight fixes. Though, if Erin was honest, it was those same powers that got her into the fix in the first place. Sighing, Erin shoved open the door of the apartments with much more force than necessary.

By the time Erin peered out at the scene those earlier figures were no where to be seen. There were plenty of cops everywhere, however. Suddenly the cops seemed to narrow in on someone. "The glass shatterer?" She questioned, turning back to look at Conner and Vittra to see how they were taking this.

"Go back inside." Came the demand of an officer that had noticed them being out. His attention was quickly turned elsewhere, though, when gun shots began to fire. Just like that, 8 cops dropped a short ways down the street. The officer that had told them off began to head towards the scene, pulling out his gun as they did so. Erin followed at a distance, checking on Vittra and Conner every so often, and she had been looking back when another round of gunshots are heard and someone falls to the ground

"Gah! They're going to kill them!" Erin shouted in surprise. Not like there was anything she could do to stop them, though... she didn't have offensive powers or anything that would win against a cop. She was only really good for ambush attacks. And even if she could help, which an idea had struck her, she really didn't need to be on the wrong side of the police. Whoever the guy was, it seemed like he was getting what he deserved... he was probably the one who had shot down the cops to begin with. She looked back at Vittra and Conner, unsure what to do.

Nick turned around and saw the boy shot and laying on the ground, looking at him. 'Gah, I have to help him' he thoug to himself. "I'll catch up with you." Without waiting for a responce he took off in the direction of the boy. Many guns were aimed at him as metal started encasing his body, causing every step he took to become heavier and louder. Shots were fired, but the metal protected him. They did, however, chip away at the armor causing him to replenish it constantly. He couldn't create more metal forever. A few cops stood between him and the bleeding mutant, but he created a large cylinder at past the end of his hand and knocked them down. He morphed it back into a hand and gingerly picked him up before heading off in the direction of which he came.

@rosamortelle @Azure Sky @rapjack123 @mikaluvkitties (this might be a good time to use your military position to stop the cops and see if we can get this anywhere)
