"That's impressive wall-walking-into. You have a skill, my friend." Tessa smiled, then she turned to Octavius, "Thanks for updating me on your book. I really care what's going on." She rolled her eyes. It sounded meaner out loud then it did in her head. Oops.
"If you want I could sing a song?" He says jokingly, "Sorry for reading aloud, my brother always did that so I guess it's a passed down habit." Octavius shrugs his shoulders. He grabs his book, puts it in his bag, and moves to a desk closer to the 2.
"It's okay. Just don't do it ever again or I will burn your home down." Tessa said. Again, it didn't sound as friendly and teasing as it did in her head. But what did she care at this point? Octavius was being weird towards her. She still didn't know what was going on with him and his sister.
looking at serephene he smiled at her as she threw the joke brutally against him, he chuckled, he guessed he did look like that type of person but still it kind of hurt, walking over to her to be slightly closer " nah... I wont skip class, Emily and you will be there, might be actually fun" His attitude had changed again, and before he knew it, his hair was furled out and turned a golden hue. The black gone, the blue diminishing in his eye's and being replaced by gold. Leth looked left then right, noticing the girl he gave her a smile " hey girlie whats your name" ((note that when sol goes into Leth mode he grows to 6,12 feet tall)) he took a step back and inspected the place he was in, he was in school, why had that little brat brought him here, did he not know today was the day he would want to take a smoke and a drink of beer "hey girlie, were you just talking to sol, the guy that I was?" he gave her a cruel smile as he flicked his finger's. A cigerrate appeared in his right hand, already lit.
He knew the girls answer, he just wanted to see her expression to one of her most likely friends changed into this, a monster.
Taking another step toward her he asked another question, right by her ear "also do you know what this damned place is called" he drew back taking in the scenery, the school was big, and if he listened he could hear people talking all the way through the halls, probably a school of a thousand or more, he could sense energy everywhere, so this must not be a normal school ((leth is a jerk.... dont work sol is gonna come back in a bit))
Serephene felt happy that he'd be coming to class, adding that it might might not be so bad, according to him, 'fun.' When she looked up at him, his hair changed, turning into a pretty golden color, and for a moment, she wondered if Sol's ability was to change his appearance, though another question quickly followed up. Why would he change now?
Then he seemed to grow in height, and his eyes changed to match his hair. He looked around, then at her, starling her a bit, though she didn't show it. He asked for her name, followed by if she was talking to Sol just before. She was surprised, but maintained her composure, replying with, "Yes, I've been speaking with Sol...and I'm wondering where he went. I'm Serephene, by the way." When he summoned a lit cigarette and leaned towards her, asking for the name of the 'damned place', she answered with, "It's a school Sol was accepted into. It's called Chalice Academy, where people with inhuman abilities come to master their powers." She stepped back as he did, finding this new person a little intimidating. "May I ask for your name?"
"my names Leth" he gave her a short strong look, before turning "so this school is for people with inhuman abilities, well that does not fit for me and sol, we have ungodly abilities, I will let him destroy this place though." he seemingly was talking to himself, and a dark aura was coming of him, almost constricting. He turned to the girl again, choosing to pick her to protect sol, without sol, there would be no leth. "ok... serephen... I have a task for you, that is if your willing to take it, it includes sol" his tone is deep and brooding, and his eyes linger on her, adjusting his stance to better suit the moment.
So, Leth is probably Sol's other self, Serephene observed, meeting his eyes. Her eyes widened at a sentence she caught: "I will let him destroy this place." She felt uneasy as a dark aura was emitted from him, but she stayed in place, as she felt that he had something to say. He had turned to Serephene again, and she waited for him to speak. He spoke to her in a brooding tone, his voice deep, and explained that he had a task for her, in which it included Sol.
Even though she had just met Sol, she saw him as a nice person, so she nodded, indicating for Leth to continue. "What is it?" she asked.
"I need you to protect him, to make sure he does become unstable, before what I need to do" he stepped closer and took her by the shoulder's " can I trust you to do that" his eye's connected with her, and without her acknowledgement he marked her, marked her so that sol would know what he did. So he knew what he had to do, Letting go of her he walked a couple steps back " no need to give me the answer know... because its already been decided" he gave her a wiry smile as he snapped his finger's, his hair going back to the black color, growing shorter, and his eye's returning to the normal color.
taking a breath of fresh air, sol fell to his knee's and instantly jumped up, he looked everywhere, he knew there would be a mark but where was it it? then he looked at serephene and his eyes widened in fear " why... why did he pick you... goddamn it" His tone was worried as he ran over to her, he looked at the mark, and he was took back by surprise, it was not black, it was pink. What did this mean " was leth here, did he touch you" he took her hands asking her with worry, he wanted to know what had happened every detail.
"It's a talent," Rayu replied, listening to Octavius read aloud. Tessa and Ocvtavius joked back and forth, and Rayu laughed. He can't remember being able to laugh so openly before...
Serephene forced her facial expression to remain the same as Leth held her shoulders, preventing her from escaping. She nodded when he asked if he could trust her, but after that, she couldn't process what happened. She felt a strange sensation, but she didn't know anything of it. He let go of her, walking backwards, saying that it's already been decided. Then, giving her a wry smile, he snapped his fingers, his hair color and height changing, and his eyes returning to the one's that Serpehene knew as Sol's.
She watched Sol breathe, then fall to his knees, only to jump back up, looking around, as if searching desperately for something. His gaze fell on her, and his eyes widened, fear reflecting in them. His worried tone puzzled her, as he ran over to look at something she couldn't see. His face changed into surprise, and asked if Leth had been here, and if he touched her, taking her hands. As puzzled as she was, Serephene replied, "Yes, he was here." She still didn't understand what happened, but answered the rest of his question. "He only held my shoulders. I don't know what he did, though..." She looked at Sol, hoping he'd help her sort out what happened. "Sol, what did he do?" she asked, her hands tightening a bit on his. "Why do you look so worried?"
Octavius looks at the 2 again, "Do you guys have any old habits you only noticed once this school year began?" He asked leaning towards this book, "Or have you met any one 'strange' yet?" He asks with a weird look in his eyes. He was completely serious about the last question. He asks another question but this time only towards Tessa, "Is this school haunted at all?" Stupid brain why did you bombard them with questions!?
"Look at your shoulder" he took a couple steps back realizing what leth wanted, either he wanted him to stay with serephene or he wanted serephene to help him, what was it, could it be both " im sorry for what leth did... im sorry" he said murmuring under his breath, he felt like he was to fault. Anger was neck and he slammed his fist onto the floor, sending it to crack and break under his hands, the cracks were everywhere, and the area they were in shook, he felt his emotions slipping, he felt anger fill him, why did he have to be leth, and why did leth have to be him.
Rayu wracked his brain with the habits he had, or just discovered. "No, not that I know of," he said. Then he pondered Octavius' second question. Anyone strange? Rayu shook his head. "If you guys don't count," he joked, "I haven't met any." He looked in Octavius' direction. "Is it because of Mr. Michealis' voice you heard?"
Serephene did as she was told and found a pink mark, though she had no idea what it meant. "Sol, what is this?" she started to ask, but was cut off by Sol's apologies. "Sol," she tried to start again, "it's not your fault--" She was cut off by the force of Sol's impact to the floor, and she slightly stumbled as cracks to spread everywhere. The area shook, and she nearly fell over, but managed to keep upright. She rushed to Sol, taking hold of his shoulders and shaking him gently. "Sol," she said loudly. "Sol, it's not your fault, so stop apologizing. You'll take down this building." She tightened her grip on Sol, trying to urge him to calm down.
Rayu felt the room sway, and he looked around, then abruptly stood up. "Did any of you feel that?" he asked, holding back the urge to bolt out the door and find out what caused that tremor.
Sol took in deep breaths as serephene tried to calm him, he could feel his heart beat quicken, why was he always causing people greif. as serephene tried to talk to him all he could hear was ringing, he let himself fall farther down this dark hole, he let himself be consumed. The doors shook on there frames, pictures fell of the wall, lights flickering.... and tears ... tears fell from sol's face, he was crying but he knew not what for. he looked up at serephene and felt guilt and anger, together the emotions mixed and made him feel as if he was burning, but then everything was silent, it was cold, and the world through his eyes seem to slow down "hey you daft fool, dont go breaking this damn school yet. I will have to stop you if you dont" the voice was that of leth's, it faded but it left an imprint on Sol's mind, and he stopped, emotion, actions, all he did know was take breaths in and out, tried not to faint from the mental shock "im sorry...im sorry" he muttered under his breath over and over again. That was all he could do, he was to scared to say anything else, he was to frightened to move.
"I don't think earthquakes happen here," Rayu said. "And if we did, wouldn't we get a warning?" Rayu raced for the door and turned back. "Come on." And he turned to look for the tremor's cause, as well as any possibly injured students.
"That's a relief." He sees the other student running out of the room, "On it!" He starts running out the door way. He sees a few cracks in the roof allowing some water to drip down. This can't end well.
Serephene turned her head as the doors shook on their frames and lights flickered. She gasped as the pictures fell from the wall, its glass shattering and flying into the air, and quickly willed ice to cover them in the shape of a dome, protecting them from the glass and other falling objects. Then she felt something drip on her hand, and looked down to see tears running down Sol's face. Just as quickly as everything started, it stopped, and Serephene cautiously removed the ice shield, listening to Sol mutter another set of apologies. She looked down at him, and he seemed to be scared stiff. She felt herself bend over to bring Sol into a tight embrace, murmuring, "It's okay," repeatedly, hoping it would soothe the male, but she doubted it, as she was never good with people, and frankly, this was her first time being so close to anyone. "Now stop apologizing." She didn't move as she heard faint footsteps, slowly growing louder.
