David "Much obliged," David says with mock courteousness, his voice dripping with sarcasm. He then turns and goes to the door, pausing just before he left, "Have a nice life," he says before exiting. David holsters his pistol and pulls his shotgun off off his pack, following the girl's directions until he reaches the convenience store. He walks up to the door and tries it, finding it barred. David knocks on the door with the butt of his shotgun, fully intending to break down the door if no one answers soon.

Lilly immediately jumped up, and aimed her pistol. "Fuck off!" She called, stepping away from the kids, and into the way of the door. The door was made of glass, and the shelf was somewhat see through. Hopefully, her military uniform would intemidate him enough he'd leave, or at lest lower the weapon.

Lucy watched warily as Lilly growled a warning to the unknown stranger. Obviously it wasn't one of their friends. Perhaps someone they met before? She wasn't sure. Or maybe this man was just as much of a stranger to her as to the others. She sighed under her breath. And here she was hoping to meet them before something went wrong like this. However, he might turn into another friend. That might be a little optimistic, but, hey, at least he wasn't a doll.

Ky heard the knock and based his reaction on Lilly's. He moved to stand in front of Lucy, after throwing the bags of supplies in an empty box in the back room and setting boxes around the one with the group's stuff in it so it wouldn't easily be found. Call instinct or the bad feeling he was getting, but Ky would bet his life on the fact that the stranger who had knocked didn't have the best of intentions. Plus, the fact that the knock had sounded.... off. He couldn't explain it, but it hadn't sounded like someone's fist on the door. "im getting a bad feeling." Ky muttered mostly to himself. His eyes had hardened and showed something akin to an animal readying itself to fight to death.

"Yeah, that wasn't flesh on glass. That was something harder," Lilly muttered, watching and listening. She didn't know how, but she knew this could on mean trouble if he was military or a sick fuck.

"Why not just open it and let him in?" Lucy suggested blearily. She was having a hard time thinking with all this noise. Such terrible, terrible noise. It was grasping on her mind again, the fuzzy black tendrils of noise. It came to a the point where she had to put her head between her legs in hopes to make it go away.

Ky felt Lucy move behind him and turned to look at her. Seeing her head between her legs, Ky knew there wasn't enough time to worry about her and the stranger. So he lifted Lucy into his arms and moved her so she was hidden with him on the right side of the door. "Lucy, calm down." He had set her down again and was looking at the door, but his hand like last time rested comfortingly on her shoulder. His hardened eyes softened bit with worry for Lucy. Ky turned to Lilly, who'd decided to answer the stranger.

David pulls a face, "Awww, that's no fun is it?" he says, not intending whatsoever to drop his weapons or comply to any of her demands at all. "I've got a better idea. You let me in and we talk like civilized people, yeah?" he asks, his normal mocking smile spreading across his face.

"Lilly, careful." Ky warned her having figured out by the earlier knock that the stranger's weapon was either a rifle or shotgun and he might very well blow the door to shredders. "whatever that guy knocked with is likely a shotgun." he told her having guessed shotgun out of the two assumed options.

"I know, you take Lucy to the back. Don't come back out until I give the word," Lilly said, keeping an eye on the door. She lit a cigarette, and waited.

Lucy groaned at the noise. Her ears were ringing, still ringing. She looked up at Ky but all she could see was the face of a doll. One of her dolls. Distorted and rotten. "Play to time?" She asked, her eyes fixed squarely at his milky green orbs.

Ky nodded figuring he and Lucy would likely get in the way since he would be trying to cover Lucy while also trying to fight. Needless to say, it was likely he wouldn't be able to do both. Picking up Lucy again, he headed for the back room and gave Lilly a look with eyes that betrayed his worry on his otherwise lifeless face. He may not fully trust Lilly or her group yet, but that didn't mean he wasn't thankful for her taking him and Lucy in. "no, Lucy. we can't play now" he told her as he walked them both into the back room and shut the door with the bat from earlier.

Groaning still, she tightly clasped her hands over her ears even as she was lead away from the ensuing fight. Again, she found a corner and sat with her head between her legs. "It's... noisy already still."

Ky sighed and sat beside Lucy. He knew a comforting hand wouldn't be enough to help every time. Ky instead decided to try what he'd seen a mother do for her child. Ky laid Lucy's head on his lap and petted her head softly while he hummed the lullaby he'd heard the mother hum once before at the base. the mother had been a Sargent's wife. While he wasn't the best of singers, at least Ky could carry a tune. Though it would look weird to see a lifeless doll of a person humming with only their eyes showing any emotion.
