Fantasy The Academy _Dropped _

Kai shrugged his shoulders. "Weeeell, there's this really cute crustacean down by the-" he cut himself off with a laugh. "I'm joking, I'm joking. I don't have anyone I like! And no one likes me, I think I'm too understanding for most these drama filled teen relationships." He put his hands on his hips. "Besides, I am just satisfied being able to look after everyone I care about."

 

[Arcadia]

"Crustacean?!" Abe didn't get why he chose a crustacean of all things, maybe he was proving just how pansexual he was. "That's too bad. Feel free to tell me if you ever do see a cute... shrimp, I guess..." He was still a little weirded out by his earlier joke. He wasn't sure if he should share things about himself, or if that might scare him even more. He decided to wait until he asked him about it, so that way he might seem a little less creepy.

"W-wait sorry! You don't know!" Kai planted his face into his hand and shook his head. Great, make a joke no one would get. "When I touch water, I turn into a squid. It's a family curse where each of us turns into a different ocean animal." He should have explained earlier, but let the joke slip out too soon. Whoops.

 

[Arcadia]

Abraham nodded his head, finally getting it. "Squids are kinda cute..." That explained why he was also weird with the water bottle earlier. He was tempted to splash him right then and there with some water, it was lucky there wasn't any near by. "How do you drink water then?"

"Very carefully. And through a straw. As for bathing, I'm kind of screwed. Can't do much be let myself get turned and hope someone's around to turn me back when I'm washed up." Kai explained further. Some people might this it's be tedious or annoying, but because he grew up his entire life living this way, it never bugged him.

The hug was just so sudden, but Llaryssa pat Mako on the back and laugh. She didn't knew that her friendship really meant so much to him. 'Okay, okay. Enough with the touchy feely.' She teased at him then added. 'Acted like she everything? Well, she did knew something. She threathened the demon you accidentally summoned, remember?' Even by just thinking about it, she still having a goosebumps. 'Maybe she's not really mean, maybe she's just strict.' Llaryssa reasoned out to him. She hoped that it wasn't that obvious to him, but she likes to see the good things in her. But she was torn, since she's admiring her, kinda idolize her too, but she's a demon. And that made her wonder.

"I guess your right. It is her job after all." Mako said as he let her go. He knew she was right. He guessed he wasn't use to someone saying duff to him like that. "So are you busy anytime soon?" Mako asked her.

"And how do you change back?" Abraham was very intrigued by this curse. He'd never heard of anything like it before. Who would put such a weird curse on a normal human family? Obivously someone not very powerful.

Kai laughed, this was always the funniest part because it made his entire situation sound like a Disney movie. "I have to find someone willing to kiss my fish lips, or in my case, squid beak. Well, a person just needs to kiss the animal in general. But I can't talk or anything as an animal so getting someone who doesn't already understand to help is very hard." Not to mention if he as an animal was out of water too long, he'd die that way. Maybe that's why he could control sea water, to save his sorry ass if he couldn't make it to the water on his own. A stupid smile spread across his lips as he chuckled again.

Abraham was very interested in this part. He wasn't sure what questions he should ask first, he took a few moments to decide on this. "What happens to your clothes?" He wondered if this was a bit of a creepy question, but he was genuinely interested in it. He decided to ask a few more questions while he was at it. "Do you know why you have this curse? Who did this to you?" He stopped himself there.

Kai could feel the curiosity hit him, but he laughed it off and answered honestly. "I turn, but clothes aren't really apart of my body so I'm just a dried up squid tangled in whatever I was just wearing. As for the curse, I'm not really sure. It was a really long time ago, my ancestors must have crossed someone to receive this... Unusual punishment.


"It's successfully weeded us out though, I know that the curse made us so unattractive as suitors to anyone else that our numbers in the family dwindled down. In my generation there's only myself and my sister. My half brother is on my mom's side and she was married into the family, my dad's sister is dead. My sister and I are sort of the last links in the line." Kai pondered on about it, a little lost in thought as he began to trace up his family tree as far as he could. Yep, the numbers definitely shrunk. They shrunk a lot... How terrifying.

Abraham nodded. "I bet you'll find someone nice to have lots of squid babies with." Anyone would be crazy to give up someone as nice as him, it would've been difficult to find someone better at complimenting than Kai. He felt like now was a good time to pet his head. He liked touching his hair, it felt nice. Being a demon, he knew how he felt. As soon as someone found out he was one they immediately left him, afraid he was going to eat them. He was going to, but that wasn't the point. So far, he was a middle aged demon without even a love interest.

Kai shrugged his shoulders. With a slow shake of his head, he declined the suggestion. "No... I don't believe that's be a very good thing. I don't want to have a family, or at least, one that's biologically related to me. I don't want to wish upon someone I care about the difficult life and the isolation I experienced."


He truly looked out for everyone, and with a slight snicker he added, "Besides, it's enough for me just to be out here. Living, with relationships, friends and acquaintances alike. I get to see the people I care about grow now, and it's like a family all in my own." Kai spoke strongly from his heart, always rather truthful and expressive. "I don't see romance very important. I want to experience the outside, what was common of my real family to shut out. But now I can sit here and honestly say that this entire school is my family, and I can't wait to see each and every one of them do something different, something I'll never accomplish, and be happy with their lives. I don't think romance is as important as that in all honesty." He inhaled deeply, he just poured a lot of his heart out, but that was okay. He was glad he could.

Abraham was a little shocked by everything he'd said. He was a lot more mature than some other people his age, it was a very grown up way to think. He gave a small but proud smile. "You're a good kid, Kai. I'm sure you're going to go far." He spoke with a sort of nurturing tone, like the one he'd used with Mariel before. "I really would be honoured to have you in my class."

Kai looked up at him and smiled back. He felt comfortable, demon may be, planning to eat him was possible, but at this moment in time Kai could let his guard down and completely trust the teacher. "Thank you very much, Mr. Peter."


Good teacher, good teacher. This man was good, even if he wasn't, he still was. Kai could feel it, he could see it. Or at least, he thought he could see the good in Abraham. Can never be too sure anymore, but he was well convinced.

At this moment, he knew he was a good teacher. He couldn't help but smile completely now. A large grin spread across his face, showing his pointy teeth. "If you'd like, you can keep my book until we see each other again. I'm sure we'll see each other again." It was hard not to see each other since he was the only maths teacher at the moment, so he was definitely going to be in his class. He knew being a student could be stressful with all of the homework and people, it was hard to find time to do things you liked. He really did want him to try reading some of his work, he always loved feedback and he was sure Kai would give him some.

Kai immediately snapped out of it, and looked down, fumbling with the book. "O-oh, no sir, I couldn't! If we'll see each other again then I'm sure you can show me then, right? I don't want to keep you from it for long." He quickly handed back the book, both hands holding it with a firm grip, just as when he had accepted it.

Abraham shrugged. "Sure." He wasn't really happy with that, but if Kai would rather it that way, he was sure he could put up with it for him. He took his book back and put it alongside his other stuff. "Do you know when you have maths next?" He asked, finally a normal question from him.

Kai nodded his head, "I think so. I need my math credits still but because I used to be home school all my credits are scattered. I do have math next semester. I.. Well, a think I do." The boy flrocked on his heels in though, trying to figure out if that was right.

Abraham nodded. "I'll probably see you around the school then." He said and picked up his stuff. He was preparing to leave now, he had teacher stuff to do as much as he liked talking with Kai. he felt like he'd made a very good new friend, maybe they'd even be able to say hi to each other in the hallways if they pass by each other.

Gears had left the auditorium and sat on his bike. He was tuning it up a little before he started the engine and revved it a bit. He had lost all the people he was talking to before but he was sure he would find them eventually. He kicked the stand down on the bike and started putting around school, hoping to run into someone.

Kai nodded his head, waving his hand. "Hope you have a good rest of your day, Mr. Peter!" His genuine smile seemed to glow, his eyes livid shine always brought an intense amount of life to his appearance.


He glanced back at his new found friends, and chuckled, happy with how many connections he had made this day so far.

"You have a good day too." As he walked by, he ruffled Mairel's hair before leaving the music room. Next, he was going to go find Ryuu to give him his detention for skipping class earlier this morning.

Kai let out a pleasant sigh. Walking his way over to Mariel, he gave her one last bear hug, squeezing her tight and lifting her up off the ground. "Hope you have a wonderful night, my sister!" He said as he replaced her on the ground. "I believe I want to explore around campus a little more before I go back to my dorm."

Kai let out a pleasant sigh. Walking his way over to Mariel, he gave her one last bear hug, squeezing her tight and lifting her up off the ground. "Hope you have a wonderful night, my sister!" He said as he replaced her on the ground. "I believe I want to explore around campus a little more before I go back to my dorm."

Mariel held onto him as he put her back on the ground. "I want to explore too!", she demanded. "Take me with you please..."

Kai smiled at her kindly. It seems as if Gears had already left so he felt bad for leaving her alone. "Oh, fine. You can come along!" He spoke softly, but with enthusiasm. "Do you have anywhere you like visiting? I don't think I've seen a lot of the campus yet."
