Fantasy Tales of Arcadia

Melody stood at the door with the small parcel in hand, letting her

hand lightly brush across the wooden surface, giving a very faint

but audible knock.

And so she waited, letting her gaze look over the light grains of the

simple wooden box, humming quietly to herself. She let in a short breath

and exhaled, feeling rather tense after another long day, but soon she

perked herself up as she always had. She took a step back from the door,

patiently waiting, as that was simply who she was. Patient and reserved.

Nacrud of course had continued on his way, however he was in no particular rush and learned of a main city. A place called Grandalia where all species thrived in one way or another. He was headed there so that he could learn more of where to find the primal stones. As he ventured into the outskirts of town he was soon attacked by a band of humans, most likely people who were afraid of him or something similar. "Why must humans be so ignorant... I don't wish to harm you." @ anyone?????

Vaehra Baelnareon

Vaehra stood hunched over a small table on the floor, pen in hand as it hovered over the blank paper. She had been in that position a good ten minutes or so, racking her head for something to write. Her hair was tied up into a loose bun as strands of blue-ish black hair fell around her face. Squinting her eyes to make the page blurry before opening them back up to make her vision clearer. The rumble of people becoming background outside the tiny hostel she had settled into. Luckily Vaehra had gotten a room to herself, allowing herself to morph back into her original state.  Her pink skin and pointed ears far from the norm of today. Pushing herself up from the desk she fastened her cloak around her body, pulling up the hood over her head. Going over to the small makeshift mirror as she watched herself change into a light skin blonde, her pointed ears now short and round. Her facial features never changed, the only part that Vaehra could call hers when she pretended to be normal.

Vaehra slipped out of the hostel into the bustling crowd of Grandalia. Making her way towards the edge of the city, seeing that was where most of the merchants who traveled to Grandalia set up shop. The pockets inside her cloak already filling as she made her way through the crowd.  Finally, she had gotten to the edge, her ear perking up at the usual yelling, although this time, instead of prices they were yelling slurs. "Humans." She mumbled deciding to have some fun. Standing slightly way from the band of humans Vaehra looked to the one they were throwing their anger towards. She couldn't say she was not surprised because she truly was. Never before seeing a creature who had not disguised themselves before walking into Grandalia. Standing in silence the crowds moved around her, mumbling under their breath.

Ignoring others Vaehra had gotten down to business, her shadow detaching from her, jumping from shadow to shadow till it attached itself to one of the humans who thought it okay to harass another being. With a smirk Vaehra felt the hand of her shadow and grab one of the men's legs, taking it out from under them. Of course what was happening to this being was none of Vaehra's concerns but she was bored and had nothing better to do so there she stood. Terrorizing others, all while being undetected.

On the horizon, Alex saw the city of Grandalia on the horizon. His employer was almost to his destination, which meant it was almost payday. The fat Aristocrat was an annoying bugger, but he was rich. And with such an easy job, Alex had played nice.

Pulling into the port, Alex got off the boat with the sailors. He checked the surrounding area for "shady characters". The port was busy with people of all races doing they're own thing. The boss came out from his office and walked to the edge of the boat, followed by his assistant.

"Anything else, sir?" Alex asked as he approached the duo. The boss made no gesture to him, but the assistant turned to him with a bag of gold.

"500 gold, like we agreed." Alex took the gold, no saying anything. nodding his farewell, he walked off the boat, shoving the gold in his pocket. Checking his swords and putting on his hood, Alex headed into the heart of Arcadia.

The place was bustling with people, which annoyed him. Alex hated crowds of people. After taking in the sights of the big city, Alex had managed to make it through worst of crowds and towards the outskirts of town. It was there that he found something very interesting.

A huge dragonkin surrounded by a group of humans. They we're yelling and cursing at the beast. 'Idiots. They are as good as dead...' Alex thought to himself. He had met a couple in his travels. They were vicious creature when provoked, but relatively nice when allied.

Alex walked towards a nearby building, leaning against the building, ready to watch the beat down that was about to occur.

Suddenly one if the goons fell outright, out of no where. Another was thrown out if the group. The dragonkin wasn't moving. Soon the group of men were disbanded, with no idea of how they had been struck. A few cowards ran, fearing their lives, disappearing into the crowd. The ones that remained stood strong.

Alex gave them props, they were brave. He begun clapping, congratulating the one that remains. Unfortunately, they didn't last long after that...

Nacrud watched as things happened and was quick to respond to a blade swung toward him. Gripping the blade he squeezed, the iron blade shattering as if nothing in his claws. "I have no time for this..." Looking to the skies he roared and breathed a cone of fire before looking to those who still wished to challenge him. The look in his eyes changed to one of bloodlust, yet his composure showed that he would not kill. The first human to approach him with a sword was lifted off the ground and thrown a distance well past the crowd. The second and third were quickly scared off by the mere sight in his eyes. "If you're so ready to fight, prepare to lose."

Vaehra watched  as everything went to chaos. Standing in the crowd she made sure she went undetected, not wishing to draw anymore attention than the fight. Why creatures never went in disguise when entering a human village was beyond her but none the less she gave this creature props for standing his ground.

Many people started to get angry with her as she would not move from the middle of the crowd, forcing others to go around her. Calling for her shadow to come back to her as the Creature started to defend himself. Although when he started to throw the humans she sighed. Does he not know how fragile a human's body is? Against she sent her shadow away to catch the falling Human. Vaehra believed one could not blame humans for their actions seeing their minds were so little, to small to process any real information.

Watching it all settle down she sighed making her way towards the creature. Although she kept her distance, returning to her pink skin and pointy eared state, trying to regains some of her energy from using her powers. She attempted to hide her face so that she would not scare others, seeing a fight had just broken out the humans were a bit on edge. Even something tiny such as her appearance could cause an uproar.

Furi Slowly Walked Towards The Borders Of Grandalia, He Saw A Hill And Started To Climb It, He Was Looking For Anyone Around The Borders. "Not Even A Fly....." He Started Roaming Around The Borders Trying To Find Something Entertaining, He Sensed A Faint Scent Of Blood. "Must Be A Fight...." Out Of Curiosity He Walked Towards The Faint Smell.

Observing the Dragonkin fight was very interesting. He fought like a beast, with no finesse. However it was evident he didn't intend to kill. It would've been a bloodbath. The fight settled down quickly once the big guy showed his strength.

Alex approached the last opponent standing against the towering Dragonkin. From behind, Alex whispered into the brutes ear, "You should really give up before you do something you regret."

Wide-eyed from being snuck up on, the man swung his sword blindly at Alex. In response the child simply ducked under it, sliding in between the Dragonkin and the brute.

"Last chance..." Alex said as he pulled out his twin blades, slashing them together in excitement. Glancing back at the beast for approval to enter the conflict.

@Cailfox @Aio

Nacrud watched the boy for a few moments before standing behind him at full height, his form casting a shadow that enveloped both the boy and man. The man's previous confidence faltered, the look in Nacrud's eyes saying 'I will shed blood if given reason.' Nacrud then stepped back and looked to the rest of the crowd, seeing if anyone else dared to challenge him.

Vaehra's attention turned to the man that yelled and sighed as she made her way towards the others, forgetting to change back into her human appearance. She positioned herself between the Dragonkin and the others as she spoke calmly. "The fight is gone. Do not go in search of something that is no longer here."  Looking between everyone to see if she made herself clear. That is when she saw the color of her skin, pink. You idiot. She thought, wondering if the others had noticed. Quickly she change back into her light skin and blond hair. Keeping the same cold expression she had from the beginning.

Alex had locked eyes with the remaining goon. He didn't look at the newcomers, but simply glared at the man.

"I was hoping to get in some practice..." The boy smirked, spinning his swords in a circle. "I haven't used my blades in a few days."

Out the corner of his eye, he saw a pinkish face, that quickly dissipated. He made a mental note, though he was to busy to be bothered. He had a feeling the man in front of him would not likely back down, not to a boy, not without someone else physically stepping in.

Peter

NPCs

Glasses precariously positioned so that the bridge would surely slip off of the tip of his nose should he make the slightest, sudden movement; Peter looked down to the small stack, but stack nonetheless, of papers signed and stamped by various business owners and trade caravans requesting his services. He slips his fingers underneath the stack, lifts the lot up, and pats the bottom edges against his desk to organize them, once he removes his glasses: "Harold." He beckons sharply, drawing a single piece of paper away from the group with a thumb and extending it outwards with his hand. In moments a burly man with leather armor, and a mace at his right side steps up; he was barrel chested, beer gutted, and red-nosed. A clad leather glove takes the paper from Peter, "Yes, Boss." To which Peter takes his queue to speak, "A farmer has been having trouble with some local feral dogs, take two others that I have not called here today and sort this matter; bring me a report when you are finished. Must be a serious issue, the man is paying a quarter now, the rest after the fact." He opens a drawer to his desk and pulls out a very small coin pouch, tied off at the top, "Pay will be deducted if crops are destroyed, property assets damaged, and farmer's daughters defiled; if I hear of any such things, I'll have your balls, Harold." An ominously casual smile accompanied this statement.

A frog seemed to catch in the stout man's throat as he's threatened, with a nod he heads out of what one would have to guess is Peter's office, "Kreeg." Another name escapes his lips, his gaze shooting to a towering reptilian of a creature, "A good one for you..." He licks his index finger and flips passed the front of the papers he held in his hands. Once he reaches the 'good one' he mentioned he carefully pulls it free, "I trust only you or your egg-brother with this, Kreeg, don't fail me." The dragonkin hisses in acknowledgement, "This comes from the Captain of the Guard himself, he thinks that there are bandits harassing caravans just outside of town; I'm convinced that their outfit has been seen before, I forget their leader's name but we have been promised a good sum of gold for our work, extra if we succeed in capturing him. Dead or alive. His goons aren't wanted, but they'll pay one and a half more for each one still breathing, in chains." He holds the paper out to the nine foot beast, "I know you will not disappoint, Kreeg; get five others, except your brother." With an understanding nod, Kreeg leaves the confines of his employer's office, having to almost crouch to get out of the door.

"Liam, Oswin, Ingrid." He lists the three names in quick succession, "I'm placing you at the (Insert random tavern name), the innkeeper is paying extra for a bit more muscle; I guess they have a bit more customer attraction. Whatever the matter, payment starts immediately; reoccurring every shift. Shift is from now and ends in six or seven hours. You'll get paid for every disturbance you're responsible for settling." He lowers his head, simply to convey a frightening seriousness, "Do not make me come down there, you three." The three individuals who also happened to be the last to occupy space before his desk nodded just as the last two to exit did. From the way they treated him, anyone; a fool even, could tell he certainly had power. The three took their leave, almost eagerly. He sat in quiet once they left, a peace he had been spoiled with the passed few days. He stands from his chair, causing it to creak. His boots thud against the floorboards as he steps to a wooden cabinet of sorts, he opens the top-most drawer of it and retrieves an abacus; he instantly begins to move the beads in correlation to potential profits and expenses this month. An earnestly refreshed smile crosses his expression for a brief moment.

His time of relief is all but shattered as a knock comes from the other side of his office door, "Boss." A familiar voice to him calls through the wood, "Yes, Armaund?" He responds, the door swinging open, "We have a problem at the tavern, Errick from the Guard was just here. Has requested your help, personally." He laid on the last word passionately, "I was just getting comfortable." Peter grumbles, even though boredom certainly would have settled in he was enjoying his day of laziness so far. "A dragonkin, boss, picking a fight with some yokels; bigger than Kreeg and Gruck. A kid or something too. Details were a bit garbled, but if I may~." The one dubbed Armaund, who appeared rather strapping, a young man no older than twenty sporting dapper brown hair, a freshly shaven face, and finely crafted black leather armor. Peter nods his head, towards the young man giving him permission to offer his advice. "Sir, it has been a while since your public appearance; even though we rarely have any unfortunate occurrences caused by those accompanied by our brand, the people often forget the face of the business. In that regard, they won't be truly able to tell who that is and in turn forget who is in charge. I suggest you take action here, personally, and win some support from the people if you solve this problem." Even though the young man was undoubtedly finished, Peter holds up a hand, "Aye. You make a good point. Very well." He comes to the same conclusion.

He didn't bother gathering many weapons, his long sword alone upon his left hip. He steps passed Armaund who stands aside. Peter's exit of his office takes him into a short hallway leading to a staircase, in turn welcoming him with a sight of his own exclusive lobby and 'tavern-esque' ground floor. The noises came to him suddenly, remembering the deafening-like enchantment he had a passing spell caster put on his office to cancel out the rambunctious lot downstairs. Cheers erupted at the sight of the one known as Peter. "Lads, lads..." He exhumes satisfaction, his ego sated if only slightly, "No time for this; Gruck, Orion." More names, at least he knew them all. At the sound of his voice two figures stand from tables, one being another towering dragonkin, adorned with markings, tallies, tattoos; what have you. The other, an dark green orc with a terrible snarl; he was clad in plate armor, shadowed steel that seemed to only emphasis his intimidation factor. He looked between them, "Gruck." He repeats when his eyes come to the dragonkin, "Orion." As they shift to the orc. "Come with me. Armaund, keep an eye on things; I shouldn't be long." He steps to the door leading out into the town, the ambiance hitting him lovingly, "Alright lads, don't act hastily; when we find out who's in the wrong we'll turn them over to the Captain... Or better. When it comes to it. Either way, this will be one helluva publicity stunt." The two either grunted or hissed, respectfully towards their boss.

(From here below is all that would interest those a part of the group drawing the crowd, everything above is a bit of backdrop for my character and the way he is.)

He heads down the street, city-folk, even guards, giving him a wide berth. Eyes almost always came to him alone, as if he weren't being accompanied by two obviously frightening associates. Hushed warnings were passed from mothers to their children, curious whispers between gentlemen and beggars alike. "We're headed to the outskirts, I wonder why we'd have to worry about what happened where no one important would get hurt... Curious." He was talking to himself more than anything. It took a few minutes but he and his two 'friends' arrived just in time to see a man cowering before the dragonkin previously described. "Oh my... He is magnificent." Peter nearly gasps, "Much taller than you, Gruck." At which a snarl is offered, "What did I say about that?" The human inquires sternly, "Sorry... Boss." Apology accepted. He signals for the two of them to halt, as he steps forward. "Ladies! Gentleman! Please, please! May I have your attention!" He shouts, his voice recognized by the wiser people of the crowd, who gasp and yelp in surprise or fear; both in some cases. Heads turn towards him, eyes shaken by uncertainty. Even the man who had been faltering in front of Nacrud seemed to pay more heed to the one beckoning the lot of them. "Pardon me." He waves his hand to once more, signal the two a part of his entourage.

He steps to where he is at the center, crowd parting like the red sea. Soon he stood with the dragonkin and company; the woman he just now notices, hearing the tail end of an attempt at calming the situation, "Valiant effort, darling, but allow me-" He glances between those he deemed most interesting, "New faces, new faces; I see many but very few intrigue me like yours do." He claps his hands together, "I am Petrius Tirinnian Lockfall, Peter for short; I apologize for any problems these... Townsfolk ... " He raises his voice, offering a venomous stare to anyone he might have thought was involved in this light scuffle, if there was one. "May have caused, our hospitality isn't normally lacking." He would extend a hand to each of them, or a nod if his offer at a handshake was denied by any of them. "I implore you all to accompany me back to my place of business so that I may offer you true respite from these... Swine." His rhetoric nothing to scoff at, any insults he meant for the townsfolk were definitely not met with any comebacks. He waited patiently for an answer or answers to his proposal.

Nacrud's rage, a trait obtained from the deaths of his allies, died down as this newcomer approached with much less hostility. A dragonkin was with him as well as what looked to be an orc of some sort. Once Nacrud gathered himself once more the false blood lust faded from his eyes. His baggy pants showing he was a monk of sorts. The adornments across his tail enforcing that visage. The jeweled bracers on his arms still shone as if brand new, yet held obvious signs of prolonged use. Attached to each ear were six differently colored scales as earrings, the only memory he had of his comrades from home. "Greetings Petrius... I am known as Nacrud." He shook the human's hand as a show of good faith. "I see dragonkin do not only dwell in the desert." He nodded to the other dragonkin, a foot taller than Nacrud. He then turned and growled at a man who yelled at him about being unfit to shake hands with the man, let alone speak to him. His growl was more than enough to silence the man and Nacrud turned to the man again. "I have traveled far from my home in search of relics lost to my people. You are but the second human who at least speaks to me without drawing his sword beforehand. I am glad to find an honorable soul among your race."

Teftin stared with wide eyes at Evasus, who had somehow prepared food and drug a way out of the small house they had occupied. It was difficult to tell what time it was from inside, but the girl made a guess that I was a few hours from midday. Her rest, then, had been a long one, but well worth it. Her bones no longer ached from days of walking, and her eyes could see clearly.

After Teftin gathered her things together, she bent down to get a drink from the pool in the corner before filling her canteen to the brim. She grabbed the parcel in the corner that smelt of good things and tucked it into a pocket. It would no doubt be appreciated later.

Teftin left the house, walking between piles of sand, then stood beside Evasus. The landscape had completely changed, with once-mountainous dunes being reduced to flat planes, and rolling hills appearing where there had been nothing before. For Teftin, she would have had to wait until the stars appeared so that she could get her bearings, but she trusted the creatures beside her. "Where do we start?"

//Sorry this is so late! I thought I had replied.

Evasus pointed to the east of where they were, "The dragonkin village is not far from where we are now. A few hours trek should get us there by sun high." It then began walking towards the village. "I advise you choose your words VERY carefully when we arrive. They are not fond of humans, however they will not harm you so long as you are my 'plus one' as is said in formal parties." This was true, the village of dragonkin did not take kindly to humans, for the humans who dwelled near the desert often tried to kill the dragonkin. However that would never work since the location of most dragonkin settlements are unknown and undiscovered to most if not all species. "You may not share any of their knowledge with anyone but me. They don't like being found."

Vaehra Baelnareon

Vaehra looked between the two before she took a step back, sighing from relief. From what she could tell no one had noticed her shift, therefore they most likely deemed her as just another human girl. She wasn't complaining, it was easier to play a naive human than for her to have to explain herself to anyone. Removing her hood from her head she felt the sun on her head, squinting her eyes as she looked up at the Dragonkin before looking over at the others.

A voice caught her attention, especially since it was directed at her. Darling?   Vaehra narrowed her eyes and pursed her lips, obviously not thinking very kindly of the man before her. Although she was not rude, she knew of many human and knew she should never turn down a handshake. Shaking the man hand softly before looking over at the Dragonkin that accompanied him. Although she turned her attention back to the man as he introduced himself. Peter. She felt as though she had heard of him before although nothing came to mind. Her ears perked up at the mention of going to his place of business. As if her pockets were not already full enough, she hoped to tag along. Although she was unsure of who his question was directed to. She had found many tended to look over her seeing she was more of a background figure if anything. Vaehra had a feeling, this would not be any different, although humans always seemed to surprise her, perhaps this would be one of the rare cases.

(Introducing some villains!)

The dim light in the sanctum gave off a blueish glow as the trickling of water sounded nearby. A figure sat upon a throne-like structure that seemed to be part of the sanctum itself. Upon the throne sat a thin woman with long faded blue hair and demonic horns protruding from between her two ponytails, the tips glowing a vivid florescent blue. Her grey garbs clung loosely to her body and her face was in a state of boredom. As she sat, listening to the trickling water, a figure that looked much like a knight approached. "Mistress... Xifossa believes he knows the location of the artifact you seek. A place called Grandalia." The woman looked at him, her dull eyes staring at the aether clad being. "Is that so? Take Vathiera and find this artifact. If it is not there we will simply continue searching elsewhere." The being nodded and walked out of the room, his armor clanging as he walked. The woman smiled as she swirled her fingers in the air before her, a small portal forming and an image of an individual appearing, "Soon I shall have the Aether Catalyst my dear... and when I do, I shall hunt you down and kill you myself. Until then... you must wait my sweet darling."

The armor clad being approached a large figure, dragonkin in height and strength, yet much like a bull in nature. "Vathiera, the mistress wishes us to investigate Xifossa's claims. We shall be going to Grandalia to find the Aether Catalyst." The being stood, his height just barely shy of the ceiling fourteen feet above. The being, Vathiera grunted in acceptance of his mistress' command and followed the shorter armor clad being out of the sanctum. The beast's form was massive, a behemoth of his own class, unlike anything the world had seen. His massive arms and body suggested he was a living tank, and an effective one at that. His blue mane sprouted from atop what seemed to be his face, and flowed over and down to where its shoulder blades should be. Horns also protruded from its head, however they seemed to be able to act as battering rams, much unlike the mistress' which were aesthetic. The knight seemed to be just as dangerous despite being a mere seven feet. His armor had the same horn like adornments, six sprouting from each side of his back and two atop his helmet. The man wielded a mighty great sword that seemed to be just as tall as him adding to the view that he was beyond dangerous.

The two beings eventually made it to another room, this one however was empty of everything, but one figure stood, its elongated body seeming out of place with the past three beings. "Ilyna, a gate to Grandalia." The being nodded and raised its long arms, writing in the air. If the being had a face, it was not clear, for where it should have a face it seemed there was no indication of facial features. No mouth, eyes, nose, nor form. As the gate was created the room quickly became windy, yet there was nowhere a breeze could have formed. The knight and behemoth nodded to the being, Ilyna, and stepped through the gate. "Shall we have some fun Vathiera?"
@ anyone in Grandalia

'Who's this pretty boy?' Alex thought to himself as the two nodded towards each other. Peter, if he had hears correct. 'Followed by a couple big boys... maybe a local mercenary maybe.' The boy was intrigued, though he didn't like being ordered around, even if it was through politeness.

"Will we be able to fight at your 'place of business'?" Alex mocked the man. Glancing around at the rest of the group he had placed himself in. A dragonkin, a blondie, and now this pretty boy.

'This should be fun....' Alex thought to himself. He didn't have any plans, or anyone worrying about him. The boy was ready for this new adventure with these strange group of people, no matter how short or long.

Teftin simply nodded, slinging her pack over her shoulder and starting her journey with Evasus. Her feet were used to walking over slippery sands, and the staff she held helped just in case. In what seemed like no time at all, the pair had gone a great distance, and Teftin could make out rocks in the distance.

"Is that the settlement?" she questioned, catching up with Evasus, who seemed to never tire. She had never seen a dragonkin, but had heard stories of the ferocious beasts. They were said to tower over average humans, and their blood lust often went off the charts. Unconsciously, her hand made its way to her hip, where a dagger was concealed. She did trust Evasus, but who knew if the dragonkin would attack or not? What if they didn't honor her being a plus one?

@Cailfox

"Behind the rocks yes. I do suggest you keep your dagger out of hand, they will not harm you so long as you give them no reason to." The being stopped and turned to Teftin, "Ah, I almost forgot. These dragonkin do not know human language, only the monks do as they are taught to know all languages." Evasus then reached up and pressed a finger against her forehead giving her a painful headache for a moment as it implanted their language into her memory. "You will need that knowledge so that you may speak for yourself." It then returned to walking to the rocks. As they got closer several reptilian figures could be seen, guardians of the village.

"Not all of you dragonkin like the heat, Nacrud." He gives a light chuckle, before slapping a raised hand on Gruck's shoulder, "Yes, this is Gruck; I found he and his egg-brother dying to the wildlands east of here. I saved them and they swore their service to me. Incredibly dependable, far more violent than yourself, but not as much for words." He had no problem describing one of his subordinates, as if he were trying to sell something. "Perhaps I can assist you in the search of these relics? Gruck and Orion here are employees of mine; they work for me by letting me sell their services to others. I could - If you are so in need of it - contract them out to you. And these...-" His eyes shift from Nacrud to the others, "Companions of yours?" He inquired, though he seemed to find it unlikely, "Whether or not that is the case, I did offer all of you sanctuary at my place of business; drinks, food, shelter on the house to make up for these cretins." At that word he sends a strong glare towards the one's involved in harassing the dragonkin. He adopts a softer expression, a chuckle escaping him, "Honorable? I can tell you that you are the first anything to call me that.

He looks over his shoulder at his entourage, "Orion clear the crowd will you, their ears don't deserve anymore of this." He orders, to which the green-skinned individual roars a, "Awlright you lot, git yer arses outta Pete's presence before'e skins ya all alive!" It seemed to be enough to usher a hurried dispersing of the crowd, even the men who started this problem encounter hastily left the scene. "Now that the villagers have seen you with me, they will offer you a more respectful stay." He spoke this to the group of them. His eyes roamed over each of them, the only parts of him that didn't show a welcoming warmth; those icy blue hues took note of everything he wanted to know. "If not, they'll have my ire; I hate having to be angry with anyone." His gaze lingers on the woman for a bit, a smirk was all he offered, albeit he didn't seem to be fairly interested; of course he's spent nearly his entire twenty-six years of life being hard to read. "I hope all of this hasn't given you any preconceived notions about me; I've done a lot for this town, since I see myself as a part of the community: anything sour they do reflects upon the lot. Not good for business." He states matter-of-factly. "Also, because I'm going to guide you to my home and livelihood; I'd like to ask that none of you betray my kindness. Many have found such... Is not wise." Those blue irises for a split second, darted from their general direction to Vaehra; very curious.

When the boy spoke up about fighting he chuckles once more, not in disrespect or doubt, must have been a rare thing to hear for him, "Perhaps, I've always thought about putting a crucible for the lot of them to take out their frustrations on one another. We'll see, lad." He gestures with a wide sweep of his arm to the right, towards the general direction of the establishment he kept mentioning, "You'll find that it is much better than what the local taverns offer." No matter how many of them, even if none of them were to follow he'd be off; he didn't offer so much as a glance over his shoulder. Without a need for guidance, Orion and Gruck soon fell in behind him; if any of the group took a good look at them they'd notice Orion was a bit more lax or casual. Gruck was definitely intense, he moved with conviction, despite having nothing to apply said conviction to.
