Starly and Charmander
Struggling to get up it winced at pain and looked at Charmander and started flapping it's wings once more. Charmander looked at Starly and wagged his tail a bit as he was laughing. Charmander looks at Starly and waits for Kai's commands.
Kai Takeshi
"Starly use quick attack and follow it up with a wing attack one more time!" He yelled out as he watched the Starly bolt at Charmander at full speed once more. "Charmander use ember then follow it up with scratch once more! When he gets close Starly use wing attack."
Starly and Charmander
As they closed in on each other Starly got under Charmander and hit up him upwards with the wing attack which sent Charmander to fall and faint. Starly landed tired then ever and looked at Kai and jumped in joy.
Kai Takeshi
Walking over to pick up Charmander he smiled at them both. "That was a nice battle, especially for training I really like the enthusiasm and effort that was thrown on the table." Kai said very impressed by his pokemon.

Braelyn watched as the battle came to an end, Charmander falling after Starly's wing attack. The purplette heard a soft snicker from the Oshawott in her arms, but Braelyn simply rolled her eyes. Charmander was definitely going to be hearing about this later.
Lucia was the first to compliment Kai when he had picked up Charmander off the ground. Braelyn was quick to agree and nodded, a soft smile appearing on her face. "They both listen to you so well." She added, thinking on how Starly and Charmander had obeyed Kai even though it meant hurting each other. As teammates, that was probably hard. It definitely would be for her.

Hiroshi Shota & Chimchar
Since Scyther dodged Chimchar's attack and was going to hit it with a Fury Cutter, Hiroshi quickly thought of something to do, "Quick, Chimchar, use Leer to throw off Scyther!" The ape Pokemon glared at Scyther, hoping it'd work.
@ZoroarkGangster
The boy watched it and gripped his fist "Cynd! Try dogding then us tackle again!" He exclaimed.ZoroarkGangster said:The murkrow was too busy pecking the boy that it hadn't noticed Cyndaquil attack. Getting knocked off the boy it fluttered in the air, trying to regain balance as it came in to start pecking Cyndaquil.

(Waiting for @ZoroarkGangster lol)Megus said:Braelyn's expression brightened slightly as Kai mentioned going to check out the contest. She was definitely going to enter, although she doubted she could win. Especially after only getting Kristina earlier that day. They hadn't done any training, but she would give it all she could.
"Let's go then!" She grinned, obviously pleased with the day's events. The Oshawott in her arms nodded in affirmation, although the Pokemon was much more calm.

Hiroshi Shota & Chimchar
The leer failed its intended purpose, but it appeared to make the Fury Cutter weaker. Still, the attack did great damage to Chimchar. "Chimchar! You can still go on, right?" The Chimchar clenched his teeth and let out a cry ensuring that everything was okay. Hiroshi had a strategy in mind which might work. "Use Leer, and wait for it to attack you!"

Cyndaquil grew frustrated at the Pokemon and charged in for another tackle without orders.ZoroarkGangster said:As the murkrow pecked the Cyndaquil it recoiled from the rushed attack, snickering at the fire pokémon.

Megus said:They walked around the city until coming to a large building with an odd symbol on it. Lucia mentioned that this was the gym, but the doors were shut tight. Lucia's Pumpkaboo, who in Braelyn's opinion was a little scary, floated in front of the doors.
However, since the gym leader wasn't around that meant they were going to head to the forest now. Lucia seemed excited for some odd reason. Braelyn grinned and nodded before following the Pumpkaboo hesitantly into the forest. Her excitement was growing, and to be honest it felt a little strange how much excitement she could feel about one tournament.

Braelyn Keene
Braelyn shivered slightly as the warmth of the sun's rays slipped behind a canopy of trees. It was partially because of the sudden loss of heat, and partially because she remembered why she had not wanted to return to this forest. Despite her obvious fear, Braelyn continued forward, looking around for a Pokemon she wouldn't mind catching.

Braelyn Keene
Braelyn walked rather slowly as she looked around. The forest was eerily quiet. There was very little sound except for a few bird Pokemon and the sound of footsteps as she, Kai and Lucia would make.
Pretty quickly her fear began dripping away. It wasn't too bad besides the eerie silence. And then something jumped out of a bush and screamed. With a yelp, Braelyn fell backwards into a sitting position. She stared up at her "attacker" only to see that it was Kai and his Pokemon. They really had scared her bad.
Her grip on Kristina loosened a bit and the Oshawott immediately chastised Charmander and Starly for doing what they had done. The Oshawott seemed rather calm throughout her lecture though.
Braelyn on the other hand seemed stuck to the ground, staring wide-eyed at Kai. She felt safer here on the ground, although her backside was a bit sore from the fall.

Braelyn glanced at the hand that Kai extended for her. She hesitated as she looked at it, but not for long before she grabbed it. He had only meant it as a joke. She wasn't about to die. There was no ghost Pokemon out to steal her soul.
Braelyn picked herself off the ground (with a little help from Kai's hand) and her gaze shifted to her starter and Kai's Pokemon. Kristina wasn't taking Charmander's sweet talk very well seeing as the Oshawott was growing red in the face. Braelyn was unable to tell if it was a flattered blush or if her normally calm water-type was being pushed over the edge of her limits.
Either way the sight brought a small smile to Braelyn's face. "I really don't blame you for doing it Kai." She murmured in response to Kai's explanation for scaring her. She had practically walked right into it.

Braelyn's gaze drifted once more to Kai's face as she stood up. She noticed his cheeks were a little red, but she honestly had no clue why. At least until she realized exactly how close they had gotten. The purplette's face took on a dark shade of red itself as she dropped her hand to her side. Talk about embarrassing.
Braelyn heard a small chattering below as all this was going on. She couldn't help but laugh at the sight that lay before her eyes now. Kristina's face was now a much deeper shade of red in a now unmistakable blush as Kai's Charmander placed its small arm around the water-type's shoulder. She watched as Kristina stepped back away from Charmander, now lecturing him about his recent actions. She still seemed a bit flustered though, and that was why Braelyn found it so humorous.
