"This way."  Arthur began to lead the group through the jungle, tucking the small, claw-shaped dagger inside a pocket of his coat, which was still serving as a makeshift slilng for his wounded arm.  Should the enounter with Whitney fail, he reasoned, having a concealed weapon would do them well.

It was a good few miles' walk before the reached the part of the jungle near the beach where they'd been attacked and he'd last seen Ellen.  Arthur drew to a halt, pausing to listen.  The faint, rhythmic sounds of footsteps over leaves and twigs drifted through the air, and he pointed towards a clearing just visible through the trees some distance away.  "Whitney hardly makes a sound when he walks; it's got to be her.  Come on!"  He began to hurry, nearly jogging in his hast.  AS they neared the sound of the footsteps, he called out quietly.

"Ellen!"

Kiku followed, his sword ready. Because fuck guns. Swords. win. Always.

How many times would scenes similar to this one replay? Didn't somebody notice a pattern here other than those two?  They definitely weren't the type to do nothing but every encounter with this Whitney ended with somebody getting hurt. This time someone ended up getting injured and was on the very verge of death and neither one knew what happened exactly but it was a wonder that one of them hadn't been outright murdered yet.  What were they actually gaining from hunting this man? They were upset, like everybody else and vengeance was one of the first things that came to mind but...rationality had to kick in at some point, right?

The Irelands kept their thoughts to themselves, not sharing it even with  each other. Alana had been paying little attention to England  and watched as he and the others left camp. She had caught the nation opening his mouth like he was planning to say something but whatever it was quickly cut off by him. She was definitely apprehensive to let him go. Italy's brother was in a coma of some kind right now and though England was much stronger than he the English man wasn't invincible.  But of course they weren't either, the job of older siblings still had to be do by someone even if they really weren't much help. They were basically the only ones of the other two who were with him and how could they tell Scotland and Wales that he....They couldn't do it.

Neither cared for him, that's how they were supposed to appear anyways. As far as most were concerned nothing but bad blood went through their family, including them. It would eat her up from the inside, out if she let him, same with Joshua. They both thought it was horrible idea and yes, both found that it was a little pointless but one thing that they realized was that family was more important here. Later they could become distant again, now they would drop it.

The two made eye contact, coming upon the same or at least similar conclusions. A slight spark of some kind showed between the two for a moment before both followed behind the group, as quickly and as quietly as possible, aiming to catch up with them before they had the chance to go too far.

Ellen heard voices but wasnt sure where they were coming from. "Guys? Where are you? " she yelled out in responce. She dropped the stick and quickly picked up before taking off running towards the voices as fast as she could go , she didnt feel like being chased down today.

It was only a moment before the search party and Ellen met up a short distance from the clearing.  Arthur let out a sigh of relief, nearly smiling for how glad he was to have found his sister safe.

"I suppose you heard the shots not long ago," he began.  "We've met the island's personifcation, and he's tried to capture us, though we don't know why.  The lot of us are on our way to track him down; he took us by surprise before when we were in small numbers, but unlike earlier, with five us us and all armed, we stand a nearly certain chance of overpowering him and keeping him from going after anyone else.  If we're fortunate, maybe we can even find out how he knows about the world beyond the island and whether that could help us return to the mainland."

Explanation now over, Arthur's thoughts returned to what Maria had said earlier.  The change in her personality had been shocking, but it was the clear wisdom in her words that had stuck with him.  And her disapproval at how he'd left Ellen behind still weighed on his concience.  She'd been right, he thought, and though admitting it wasn't pleasant, he had been at fault.

"And... I apologize for not making sure you were with us."  He was a bit surprised at his own remark, but after the past couple days' events, he mused, surprise was, ironically, becoming routine.

Ellen ran over to Arthur and hgged him tightly,  glad he was safe and sound. Even though they dont talk much she still loved her family and wouldnt be able to forgive herself if something hurt or killed them while she was around.

"So this is your sister, hmm?" Rajah asked Arthur with a hint of a smile tugging at her lips, a mirthful gleam making an appearance in her charcoal black eyes when she saw the two siblings in embrace. Nothing warms her heart more than seeing such a close bond between family, related or unrelated. "You are fortunate enough to have been gifted with a family, so be sure to cherish them deeply." She told the nation, her eyes boring into his own with an intensity burning within them as they faded back to a deep brown, signifying that she had reverted back to her usual self.

"Yes, yes, this is all very touching."  Now that the moment had an audience, Arthur was ready to turn the attention back to their original task.  He pulled away from Ellen's hug, noticing that Maria's gaze, which hadn't left his, was suddenly back to normal.  He wasn't sure how well that boded; they'd still be needing competent fighters when they came across Whitney.

"So if we could get back to the job of catching the potentially murderous stranger before he gets to anyone else, that might be wise..."

"At least the ones at the camp can defend themselves, right?" Maria inquired in a joking tone of voice, her hands resting on the curves of her hips with a smile spread across her lips, though she had a hint of anxiety in her movements. Despite her bubbly demeanor, the Filipino was actually a concerned for the ones they had left behind. Were they going to be alright while they were gone? After all, they were some of the most capable fighters out of all of the others. "... Hopefully they can." She muttered underneath ger breath, her bright eyes losing their luster for a split second in worry.

Ellen dropped the shirt full of fish " I'm coming with you this time, I have advanced training in hand to hand combat and knife skills .... If I had one" Ellen said and stretched her arms to relieve some tension and pain from it. She cracked her knuckles " I swear to god that guy is going to pay from hurting Kiku and any others he has attacked "

"I wouldn't count on that."  Raj and Alfred might be able to put up a good fight, but Romeo was on the brink of death and Mathew and Feliciano were hardly the sort to take a stand against Whitney.  But at least they were together and aware of the danger, which was more than he could say for those still missing.  Some of them were competent enough, he thought, but he knew just as many didn't stand a chance.  Staying here talking wasn't going to solve that, though, so he raised his voice slightly, adressing the group.

"Has anyone seen anything that might tell us where Whitney went?"

Italy

Back at camp, Feliciano was still by his brother's side, waiting for him to wake up.  "I still don't understand why Whitney's after us," he thought aloud, directed generally at the others in the cave.  "It doesn't seem like there's a point to any of it."

KIku handed her a knife. "I found my katana while you were all gone and Prussia wasn't watching me like a predatory bird."

Ellen smiled and put the knife in her pocket. she looked around trying to figure out where Whitney went or if he was still hanging around somewhere " Any ideas where he went? " she asked still surveying the surrounding area.

Ellen could not spot anything out of place or in a bad spot in her eyes but it still didnt mean he wasn't around. She might check again later after the search party will return to the camp.

(Nah, The Irelands just haven't  been needed recently on my end)

Heh, I'm not.

Once the question had registered in her mind, Maria immediately thought back to the events she had experienced previously, but alas, drew a blank. "No, sorry!" She shook her head from side to side, giving the younger personification an apologetic smile.

Prussia

"That'd be a nice thing to know...."

Prussia shifted his gaze side to side looking for any movement, when he heard a small chirp. It confused Gilbert, so he drew closer to the bush.

"G....GILBIRD!?"

Prussia was amazed to see his best birdie friend!

"Gilbird I found you!"

Gilbird fluttered onto Gilbert's, but Prussia couldnt figure out why Gilbird was in a bush down the path.

"Guys! Whitney must haze gone zis way! Gilbird vas hiding from him!!!!!!!"

England

"Sound enough logic," Arthur agreed.  Being shipwrecked and marooned on an island likely had already put the bird on edge just like the rest of them, and it made sense that he'd try to hide from a complete stranger in such a stressful situation.

The Brit started off in the direction that Gilbert had indicated along with the rest of the group.  They couldn't be far from Whitney now, he thought; the personifcation had no reason to leave the area, and even if he had, they hadn't lost much time before following him and had been moving at a fairly quick pace.

"We ought to create some sort of plan before we find him," he suggested.  "He's armed as well, so a direct confrontation would mean risking any of our lives."  The group's size would make an ambush hard, though, he mused, but splitting up also had its dangers.  What they needed was some sort of tactic that Whitney wouldn't expect from them, that would take him by surprise.  "I'd say our best chance is catching him off-guard somehow."

Kiku decided to speak. "Perhaps a distraction while the others set an ambush?"
