"shh, you're not being dumb." Alexander whispered. "I'm sorry. I really do like you. I... I just... John, I can't be with you. I'm trying to start a new life here. I was bullied so badly in Charleston... I can't go through that again."
Eliza sighed softly. "I'll try and get him to eat."
"I understand. I know why, you don't need to be sorry. I'm fine." he said, wiping his tears as they continued fall down his face. He was shaking. "I'm sorry for bothering you. You're fine, I'm glad you're happy with Eliza."
Lafayette nodded in response, looking down at the rest of his food as if it's mere presence was offensive. "This boy needs to be knocked into shape, learn how to take care of himself." He determined, turning to Eliza. "I trust you to help me do this, oui?" He would mom friend the hell out of em if he had to.
Alexander sighed and hugged John tightly. "I'm so sorry."
John hugged back. "Don't be sorry. I just need to get over it. I shouldn't care this much."
Alexander nodded. "I'm going to go bac. Join us when you can?"
He nodded. "I will. And tell MJ it's not his fault."
Alexander nodded and returned to the table. "Hey." Alexander mumbled, sitting down.
"Is he okay?" Eliza asked.
"He's going to be fine." Alexander mumbled. He went back to writing.
She nodded and wrapped her arm around him.
John wept for a few more minutes before splashing his face and going back to the table.
Alexander wrote for a while before sighing and closing the notebook.
Eliza frowned. "Alexander, are you okay?"
Alexander nodded. "Just an assignment for English. It's hard to write."
She kissed him. "Only one more period until we can go home."
Alexander smiled at him. "Good. I can't wait."
She smiled and nuzzled him.
Alexander looked at the food around him and made a face. He did not want to eat. He usually ate at night.
"Just take a couple bites please." she said softly.
Alexander looked at Eliza with tired eyes. "Eliza, I've never eaten at noon in my life. I'm not hungry."
She frowned. "That's not healthy."
