Fandom Edge of the Empire and the Age of Rebellion

"That, is the coldest deathtrap i have ever seen " Pash said from behind them, startling the pair of them. "Now if youll let me?" Seeing a puzzled look on Ardana's face he explained

"If i dont punch in my code into their transmitter we will all die"

The Rodian girl was a little stunned and moved aside to let Pash punch it in

His voice made her jump but it wasn't like it took much to do that nowadays anyway. She turned to watch him approach, not asking any questions and just accepted what he said. She was curious to see the planet from the ground to see snow and ice. As someone from a desert planet, raised on humid muggy Hutt worlds it would be something totally new. Her eyes moved from Pash back to the approaching world.

They slowly made their way down to their designated location in a hanger near echo base, leaving the ship Pash noticed Ardana wrapped up in maybe 5 layers of clothing and still looking like she might turn blue.

"Feeling the cool air a bit?" he muttered, chuckling despite the cold as they walked into the base

She stuck her tongue out at him as he laughed at her, having to pull down a thick scarf to do so. She wasn't built for the cold even before she lost all her weight and now that she was so tiny their Rodian companion had wrapped her up in more layers than she could count. She was thankful for the soft spoken woman who had let her come around in her own time, only talking when Ardana wanted too and not filling the cockpit with idle pratter. She walked beside Ardana now, equally as bundled up against the cold, Rodia also being hot and humid. Subconsciously the Twi'lek moved close to Pash, always a few steps behind, not sure what to expect and still not quite back to her confident self.

Rency greeted Pash with a forced smile as although he was grinning his eyes had become as cold as the outside air.

"You made it back then, no casulties as usual"

"Yes thank you, I appreciate the help" his replies had an edge only Pash's allies could notice

"I am sorry we didnt tell you sooner Pash, or Tarrir, or whatever you go by now"

"The alliance is forgiven, I will be leaving but i plan on being my own thing for a few months"

"That is accepted, your ship will be refuelled in 2 days, you are welcome to stay here for that time, any help is appreciated"

Pash left the room as a strange pair entered it, another human and a huge wookie, bocaster slung across his back

"Odd..." Pash said as he walked to his assigned quarters

Ardana had known for a long while Pash would one day want to work with the Rebellion, she hadn't particularly cared before but now having been in the hands of imperial forces she would have been easy enough to convince in to joining. If anyone could get close enough to talk to her of course. She kept people at bay with her steely glare and waited for Pash to return to them, having stopped short as she realised who he was meeting. She watched people busy themselves around her, running supplies and chatting merrily despite the cold.

"yeah i lost my faith in her a long time ago" Pash muttered when he thought only Ardana could hear over the comlink "too many mistakes, too many lies, the rebellion is better than the imps, but not by as much as they claim" He was getting tired of this war anyway, it was time for some personal vendetta. He felt something strange in the air, looked around but saw nothing.

"must be hearing things again" he said, strolling down the corridor

Ardana listened to him over the radio, but didn't respond. What he was telling her gave her some idea of what he had been doing since she had last seen him. It didn't surprise her, and she was pleased he had found people to surround himself with. She pulled her coat tighter around her and shivered, somehow the breeze still managed to cut through the many thick layers of clothing. Her eyes were fixed on the hallway where Pash had disappeared a short while before.

"oh im just 2 doors down the hall on the same side, but im heading to speak to some guys about retrofits" Pash signed off with before meeting up with a few friends to purchase some new equipment. Almost every non-essential part on the Outsider had been replaced at great cost, but Pash had money to burn. Before long he had a whole arsenal of weaponry aboard in every compartment with plenty of room for cargo too.

"oh also Borvo is our next target, its been too long, i want it done" was the last thing he said before switching off the comlink and tuning the laser cannons

Ardana shuddered at the mention of that name, she had almost forgotten about him with the more recent trauma of serving the Wukkar Governor more fresh in her mind. The reminder made her flinch and the thought of being back in that horrible place made her feel sick. She stepped back in to the shadows of the hallway her eyes distant as her mind flashed back to days long past.

Pash was working on the engines when a man in pilots overalls

"So youre Pash Odir? He asked

"Yeah, whos asking?"

"Oh im just asking on behalf of Wedge, apparently he owes you something?"

"Oh well dont worry about it, it was a few months back"

"Yeah but you know Wedge, he likes to keep good on his debts"

The man tossed Pash a small holocron

"He picked this up sometime after the deathstar op, thought youd like it"

Pash looked at it oddly, not sure what to do with it

"Well he still owes me that drink aswell"

"He wont forget dont you worry!" The man said walking away

Ardana was perched quietly on a crate a short distance from where Pash was working. Her legs swinging casually as she sat in comfortable silence. She watched the male approach and half heartedly listened to their conversation before turning her attention to the datapad rested in her lap. She had taken her gloves off to use the device and they were already freezing despite being inside. She flicked through the pages of information about the events she had missed, apparently quite a lot since being locked away.

She looked up at him, giving a cautious smile before tucking the data pad in to one of the pockets of her coat and jumped gracefully down from where she had been perched. She moved carefully towards him, the slightest limp still in her stride from the months of torment she had endured. She stopped alongside him and nodded for him to lead the way, she flexed her fingers in an attempt to regain the blood flow.

"okay well its a little different to the Randy Gammorean, but its a YT so it is still reliable as hell" he motioned to each room

"here is the engine room, its a bit faster than the RG was, but cant hold as much as its a little smaller"

"This over here is medbay, i promise i never use it as much as i used to haha"

"these are the guns, not as accurate but better firepower, yet to really let me down, now the cokcpit youve already seen, and cargo is boring...." he stopped, turned to look at her, not too far behind him, reached up and touched her face

"i missed you" he said......

She feigned interest in what he was showing her, she had reviewed the layout of course whilst working on the repairs the night before. She was happy to just listen to him talk, regardless of what he was saying. She liked the ship well enough, it was no Gammorean but it was close and perhaps more practical. She had felt the way it handled even after having taken heavy damage so she was excited to know what it was like when fully functional. She had been lost in that train of thought when he startled her by turning around and pressing a hand to her face.

'Pash' She said softly, looking up at him. Her feline green eyes wide with an odd mix of fear and relief. Her own hand rose to rest over his, his skin feeling warm against her frozen fingers.

His lips gently moved to meet hers, holding in a tender embrace, bodys craclking with electricity as sparks shot between them

She tensed for a moment before relaxing against his touch, even tiptoeing slightly enjoying the feeling of his lips against her own. Hands pressed against his chest her eyes fluttering closed. She had missed him, everything about him and it was dawning on her how much she had come to rely on him.

His hands pulled her small body against his, his warmth contrasting with the shivering Twi'lek, he picked her up, kissing her as he did and then lay her on the bed, getting in beside her as they held each other, lips hardly parting

Her hands balled in to fists around his top as he lifted her, her lips parting slightly in surprise at the sudden motion. If it used to annoy her how easily he could lift her now it was twice as easy, but right now she didn't care. The feeling of his lips against hers making her body tremble with a mix of nerves and excitement.

They stayed like that for hours, eventually falling asleep on each other. When Pash woke up it was to the sound of a tapping on the door. Dovahkin was there, looking slightly prouder with a sling around his removed hand. He held something out to Pash, a customised vibrosword, blade serpentined and jagged, hilt the deepest black.

"Thank you my friend" Pash said, bowing to Dovahokin and shaking his hand

Dovahkin nodded, tears in his eyes and left the ship, not knowing when they would meet again

How long they kissed Ardana couldn't tell but something in their faces had changed when they broke apart to look at each other. She gave him a sad smile before looking up at the ceiling, the light glimmering as though trapped beneath the surface of green irises. she could still taste the sweet, glistening wetness of her glistening mouth and feel the warmth of his breath on her face. She hesitated a moment, lost in her swirling thoughts before curling against him and resting her head against his chest.

The rapping on the door startled her awake and she bolted upright, relaxing as Pash moved ever calm beside her. The form of the silver Wookie at the door sent shards of guilt through her form and her eyes dropped away. Their conversation was muted and she tried not to listen, not to hear that familiar voice she had long thought gone.

When Pash moved back in to the room and the door had shut behind him she spoke.

'He's staying here?' It was a statement phrased as a question but still she did not look up at him.

"on Hoth, he is tired Ardana, maybe a few months from now? I'm not even sure then, he gave me this"

He drew the sword, in his hands it looked very small, designed for someone at least a foot shorter as a one handed weapon

"Now i think youre a bit rusty with that knife of yours and need some practice, but i want you to train with this too okay?"

He flicked to training mode, tossed the handle to her and drew his own from a conceled sheath above the door. He stood at a guard stance, eyes daring cheekily for her to attack him knife or sword.

"So, you think you can try me?" Smirking he waited....

His words made her question the wookies thoughts on her, that deep seated guilt running through her like blood. He mentioned her knife, the delicate weapon she had loved dearly. It was gone now, hanging off the belt of some imp no doubt, but she would keep that to herself. She fumbled with the sword as he passed it to her, and sat looking at it with wide eyes for a moment. It looked for a moment like she didn't know what to do with it before unfolding her legs and rising to face him. 'Isn't this room a little small for sparing?' She muttered turning the hilt of the sword over in her hand.

"you never know what youre going to have to use that for, plus you have the advantage, I may have the reach but that works against me in here"

He moved in, blade dulled by remote and aimed to lightly touch her left lower ribs
