Fandom Edge of the Empire and the Age of Rebellion

Wukarr security forces were on high alert. She could hear the comlinks buzzing at all hours of the day. She was removed from her cell and kept at the Governors beck and call, often times chained to his chair and left to sit at his feet whilst he worked. She had become his pet it seemed, but whereas she would have once fought against it she now accepted it.

The plan was simple, a small fuel depot would be blown up that evening, Pash moving in on the residence with a small team, finding Ardana and escaping, meanwhile, the wookie would be freed by Godin, and everyone would meet at a spaceport in order to move out of system in order.

The plans were in place, Pash had his speeder bike ready, and the cue was given to cut the lights....

If anyone had been looking in to the room they might have thought the bundle at the foot of the governors chair was a pile of blankets. Ardana had curled up almost beneath the chair where the Elder male was working and was dozing almost peacefully. She ignored the cursing and complaints about the various goings on in the world beyond and simply focused on trying to get some rest. Having stopped eating she lacked energy so slept for most of the time since the Governor had insisted on her remaining with him at all times this had not changed and she took the chance to hide away from him.

With the lights out the palace was theirs for the taking, Pash queitly crept up to the guards, knife at the ready.

A small noise sounded as the knife slide berween the carapace plates and into the guard's neck, a slow gutteral moan as his lungs filled with blood. These things were never easy, but they had to be done, the explosion at the fuel depot had taken half the security over to assist in the rescue effort and Pash and the others had no trouble killing the rest of the outer guards. The inner guards were another issue though, with the loss of power several Dark Troopers had activated, their droid-armour glistening in the dimlight. Pash waved the others past, and gently snuck around the droids, making a lot of effort not to be sensed by the droids. They moved further in, the 5 of them killing the occasional guard before arriving outside the governer's office. With a stun grenade in one hand and his rifle in the other, Pash moved inside...

There was commotion as the lights flickered and died. More troopers were roused and bought to the chamber and she remained hidden beneath the large chair. The attention of the troopers was on the safety of the Governor and she was left alone for the best part which suited her just fine. Occasionally eyes would fall over her laced with bitterness and contempt. Little did she know just why they looked at her in that manner. The sound of a scuffle in the corridor prompted the security to raise their blasters and she slunk back in to the shadows beneath the desk hidden from the inevitable conflict. It was from there, in her huddle of blankets that she heard the door slide open.

Blaster fire erupted, scorching a mark into both Pash's armour and the wall behind him, he fired back, grenade rolling across the floor to lie at the feet of a well dressed imperial diplomat.

"Well I...*BANG*"

The room filled with white light, Pash using the distraction to kill the remaining troopers

"ARDANA!!!!!??!" He screamed, looking around the room.... she had to be here somewhere

She huddled against the desk, her hands over her ears as the grenade went off. She shuddered nervously and closed her eye. She sat in the same spot until a familiar voice broke through the chaos. She shook her head, ever since she had been told he was dead she had been hearing him, or seeing him in others. Certain she was falling in to madness at their separation. But this time was different and she pulled herself out from her hiding spot, fragile and afraid, looking across the room in the direction of that painfully familiar voice.

It...

It was her

Pash crashed to his knees in front of her, not even thinking about the run across the room, picking up her slender form, half the weight it had been he cradled her as he surveyed her injuries.

"Okay guys change of plan, set up the charges but this time I cant fight, I'm getting her out"

"Yessir" was the answer, and the pair of them set up 2 thermal detpacks, enough to take out the whole palace, before following Pash out.

Ardana over one shoulder and his gun in the other Pash was ready for anythign

Her eyes lit up as she saw him, but she still was not sure she wasn't hallucinating. She extended a hand to gently touch his face, fingers running along the scar across his eyes. The scar he had recieved in the encounter before he confessed how he felt. She let him pick her up, whereas her pride would have made her walk once before. This seemed real, but she didn't know. She lay limp against his muscular frame, her eyes fluttering closed, the tiniest ghost of a smile tracing the lines of her lips.

Pahs kissed her gently on the forehead "hush now" and started to carry her slowly out of the palace. As he rounded a corner he realised why it had been so easy to get in.

4 dark troopers, blasters trained on them, powering up...

"DRAK" Pahs yelled as he dived for cover

She whimpered softly as she was carried onwards, and pressed her face in to his shoulder as the troopers stepped out from the shadows. She pulled away from him as they dived for safety, she shuffled in to the shadows as though afraid. Although it wasn't clear who she was trying to get away from. She pulled her knees up to her chest and wrapped her arms around them. Blaster fire erupted around her and she screwed her eyes shut not wanting to watch.

Pash ducked out, firing shot after shot into the chests of the monsters, but nothing was working, the armour was too strong. Pash was running out of time and he his grenade launcher out he fired at a support, bringing it down around the troopers. A few more opened up a wall and he was able to see a way out. He reached for Ardana, guns over his shoulder he cradled her as he ran through the building, allies covering his escape. He pushed them all on, as they made it to an exit, as Pash was moving through his comlink timer went off. Looking down he realised what that meant.....

The twi'lek did not resist as he once more scooped her up and hastily hurried from the building through the newly made exit. The blasts had seemed to phase her and her whole body quivered with what appeared to be fear. She remained wordless although a few times opened her mouth as though to speak but seemed to have almost forgotten how too. The blast that followed them was louder than any she had ever heard before and she had to stop herself from crying out in surprise, Instead choosing to hide her face in her rescuers shoulder.

Pash crouched, allowing the heat to roll over him, some areas of the armour beginning to get very thin, started to crack in places. Ardana took a little of the heat but seemed to be okay. Pash loaded her onto Godin's speeder and jumped in to check on the Wookie.

A very poor looking Dovahkin greeted him, his whole arm had been crudely replaced and an eye was missing, a poor imitation in its place. He was happy to be free, but not much. Ardana was sleeping in the front seat, Pash lightly placed a familiar weapon he had picked up after paying thousands of credits to acquire several matching blades. The hard part was over, the harder part would be starting now.

She didn't seem to feel any of the scorching heat that washed over her body, the pain she had been subjected too over the last few months had been worse, both physically and mentally. She curled in on herself as she was placed on to the speeder, her tiny frame fitting comfortably on the front seat. She dozed, the activity had drained her, although she had barely done anything herself. Her breathing was slow and rhythmic and through the light haze of sleep she could hear people talking.

"look, we need to move now or we wont make it at all"

"Im not leaving him" Pash replied, eyes looking for a missing team member "I owe him one"

"well fine, but come back on your own, we will get her to your ship, Dovahkin too if need be, but come back somehow on your own"

Pash jumped off and moved to find his missing man, leaving his pistol in the speeder in case Ardana could somehow use it

She awoke alone and confused on a ship, mutely trying to hide away from the people that milled around. She was certain she had gone mad, or that she was dead, as the wookie that she glanced from time to time looked just like Dovakhin. She had been moved in to a small crew quarters and curled up on the bunk as far away from the door as she could get, eyeing everyone that came near with suspicion.

She sat afraid and alone, her knees pulled in to her chest, rocking slightly. Occasionally a female Rhodian would walk in and try and talk to her but she wouldn't let her close, every time she stepped closer the tiny Twi'lek would shrink away and if she crossed some invisible line she world jump up suddenly and race to the other side of the room, shuddering in fear like a tortured beast. The Rhodian would watch her quietly for a moment but wouldn't try and get any closer for fear she would hurt herself in her fright. Only once the door had shut would Ardana move back to the bunk and curl back up again. Voices rose and fell and she sought the one voice that could bring her comfort through this but heard nothing.

The Rhodian pulled the door shut behind her, shaking her head at the Wookie who was lent against the wall. He lowered his eyes sadly and grumbled a complaint. He couldn't understand why she was being like this, the fearless person he had known was gone or at least hidden deep within this new fearful creature.

Pash had to run through the streets, pursued at every corner by squads of stormtroopers. AT LAST, a landspeeder with autoblasters appears, crippling the troops behind him and Pash moves in to grab a lift. Heaving the unconcious form of his squadmate beside him he continues to fire as they fly into the spaceport.

Running up the ramp he spots Ardana in a corner, but with little time to relax it was on the guns he went, sighting into enemy TIEs. Godin in the ship next to his had already moved out but his own ship was more sluggish, the engine just about keeping it from falling back into the atmosphere.

"Pash..... I'm.... hittxzzxzxxxzx" came the call over intership com as a laser cannon almost destroyed the cockpit, they were in trouble

Something wasn't right, even in her disturbed state Ardana could tell that. They must be under fire judging from the way the ship rocked and shuddered. Alarms began to chime and she brought her hands up to cover her ears, the noise seeming to penetrate the deep layers of psychosis. She straightened out and took a few cautious steps in the direction of the cockpit, knowing if anyone here had a chance of flying them past this it was her. Again a few more steps when a large judder and a call from the cockpit sent her in to a flat sprint in the direction of the flight deck. She barged in and gestured wordlessly to the controls. The Rhodian moved aside and she took control, spinning them wildly away from the incoming jolts of green energy.

The ship levelled off before Pash realised what was going on. It felt familiar to him, being moved just enough that he could make the shots. Slowly the were edging to the jump point when the inevitble happened.

"Star destroyer!!!" coming from Godin's ship as it jumped, leaving a huge cruiser in its wake. This was bigger than anything Pash had ever seen before. It looked as if a Victory class could fit as its bridge

"the Executor....." was all he breathed, before whispering a silent prayer to some higher power

The stars flashed, and they were gone, dashing past the Super Star destroyer before it had a chance to react, they were safe, for now....

Dodging the ties was easy, even with the damage they had taken and she positioned them for her gunners to pick off with ease. Her muscles relaxed slightly as a bolt of energy struck the unshielded fuselage of the final tie and its twin ion engines exploded in a gaseous ball of blue flame spiralling in to the planets atmosphere below. Eyes turned to the point where they would be far enough out of the planets gravity well for them to jump and she recoiled as the sudden bulk of a Star Destroyer appeared. She didn't panic as her hands moved across the console, the huge ship looming in front of them had thrown a spanner in the works but just barely. She adjusted the hyperspace jump by mere meters and they were off, in to the familiar sanctuary of hyperspace. She patted the side of the console fondly only to recoil as though she had been burnt. This wasn't the Gammorean, nor any ship she knew. The person she had usurped as pilot was moving towards her as if to congratulate her but she couldn't take it and turned to flee from the flight deck, locking herself inside one of the crew rooms.

Pash fell back in his gunnery chair. That had been too close. Way too close. The Executor was a ship of legend and its precence indicated something worrisome in this sector of the galaxy. He had other issues however, looking down he noticed that a few of the blaster shots had actually penatrated his armour, leaving horrible burns on his left thigh and upper arm. His helmet was ruined and he was lucky he hadnt been killed. It was now time for him to finally patch himself up and check on Ardana and Dovahkin.

His room was smaller than it had been on the Randy Gammorean. Seperate rooms for squad members was always useful and the Galon Outsider was a little bit smaller than the RG had been. In the corner he noticed Ardana, paralysed with fear.

He stripped down to his underclothes in order to treat himself before heading over and crouching in front of Ardana

"Hey little one, you're safe now, it's okay"

There was nowhere for her to run now as a new figure blocked the doorway, she relaxed a little as she realised it was Pash but still remained where she was. She watched him carefully, shrinking away as he moved closer, still convinced he was a vengeful ghost come to get his revenge for what she had done. His voice was soft and reassuring, just as she remembered it, but she was loath to trust it. Cautiously she extended a hand to touch his face, a gentle brush of his cheek to prove to herself he was really there. She shook her head disbelievingly, her lips parting to speak. Her voice was croaky from lack of use and barely audible.

'You're dead?' Pain laced her words, obvious from her tone that she had totally believed that he was.

Pash laughed hollowly at the question

"Well either I'm not or else I'm a very convincing robot"

He reached out a hand

"I've missed you"
