Muffin lifted her head. That was a human she didn't see. She'd smelled it there before so the grizzly didn't chase it away. Without an answer Roger shrugged. "Okay then, have a good sleep then" he said. The two of them chose a sheltered spot. Cuddling together in sleep. Ironically Muffin had Roger in one arm like a child would hold a stuffed bear. One ear twitched. The bear wasn't quite asleep yet.

"Yea probably so." Replied Walker. Before finding somewhere to settle down for the night Walker went to the crate which Viv had left his shotgun in and retrieved it. If he was going to be sleeping out here where anyone could walk up at anytime he was definitely sleeping with his gun within arms reach.

Walking along a stretch of road leading to a distant small town of sorts; Lu had time to think about the people he had only recently met; Viv, Riley, Wiley, Interesting folk for sure. Hopefully if his plan goes off without a hitch then he should have more bargining power with the group and if not then at least people may get some more much needed supplies. Sighing at little as the heat was felt like it was sucking away at his very soul; Lu decided to quicken his pace in order to find shade and comfort soon. Meanwhile he had been double checking his machine-pistol as it had been some time since last used it; a altercation with a rather aggressive slaver trying to force his wares onto Lu. He recalled eyeing the body of the slaver and the small child standing over it; how the small girl had a collar similiar to a dog's around her neck. He couldn't take on the kid as his own as he knew the Council would never allow any outsiders into New Seattle. So the path was clear to him; he took out his Vz.61 and switched off the safety. He remembered looking into the eyes of the little girl, amber and bright gold mixed together. he never forgot them, never. As Lu seriously considered in his mind and questioned himself. 'Am I really about to do this?' He swung his arm around and pointed his gun at a figure hiding behind a rock; another slaver prehaps? ready to let loose with a hail of bullets? Squinting his eyes to get a better view of the person in quesiton, he realised it was just another slave; a man this time, looked to be in his elder years; wearing nothing but a pair of baggy trousers and sandals for shoes. Content that this man wasn't going to harm him, Lu switched the safety back on his Vz.61 and decided to walk away from the situation as he felt disgusted at his actions and couldn't bear another moment around them.

Snapping back to reality, Lu noticed he was vastly closer to the town now. Whilst out of breath due to his little jogging exercise, he slowed down a little and shook his head to clear his mind of those previous memories; not that he could truely forget them anytime soon. Approaching what looked to be a old wooden shack, he took out his gun once more and double checked it had a round in the chamber; ready to go at a moment's notice. Stacking up the front door, he stepped on a piece of glass and thanked whoever made sure the piece wasn't sticking upwards. Even the smallest of wounds would possibly be a death-sentence and being pierced in the foot by a large shard would've made a already difficult day, that much more unbearable. Slamming his foot against the lock of the door, it flew open and he rushed inside; checking every corner and possible hiding spot as he moved throughout the small shack. Satisfied it was cleared, Lu started to search through every bit of furniture and storage areas; hopefully he would find something good. Maybe a gun, food, water, fuel, medicine. Who knows?

(Oof me first post)
Mark woke up in a torn up car, rubber burning and burnt skin filled the air. He survived in a old near shamble military outpost. It was something of a shack like area. He looked around checking is torn up watch. It read 00:00. It was dead, or more or less unfixable but it was memoriably of a broken time. He got out from the engine empty humvee and stretched. It wasn't the most comfortable thing to sleep in but it was safe. He definetly was noticiable as there was a small trail of smoke from his body filled fire pit. This being bodies of some oddballs that are called bandits and the unreconiasable coyotes and birds.

Riley/Viv
Riley nodded, leading Walker over to where she normally slept. "Here, take my bed for the night. I'll take a bedroll." She told him simply, leaving him to go find an adequate spot to nestle down in for the night. The day had certainly been different that was fr sure, and as she lied down for the night her brain played a slideshow of the days events in her mind. The kiss was in her thoughts a lot as she lay there in the dark, staring at the nearby wall. It made her hopeful, but also a little bit anxious. The apocalypse wasn't exactly the best time to let your heart get broken, and Riley knew that. All she could do was hope it didn't come to that.
By the time morning came Riley had slept very little, her brain kept awake by running through the process for antidote as well as the previous day. Once the sun had risen Riley slipped off to silently check on Walker, perhaps just to assure herself he was still there and hadn't run off in the night. She found herself in her makeshift office again after that, pouring through pages of her notebook, writing things down and rereading certain parts. At some point Viv found herself standing by one of the privacy screens, leaning on it's metal frame.
"Hey." She said, Riley responding back with a "Hey" in kind.
"Do you know what you're doing?" Viv asked, rather aware that Riley wasn't looking at her.
"Of course. I went to medical school for a reason, Vivi." The answer wasn't what Viv had meant.
"No, I mean with these people. You think you're making the right choice?"
Riley stopped writing for a minute, sighed. "I hope so. I don't know how he did this, kept things running and organized."
"If you're talking about who I think you're talking about- he didn't. Not exactly, he just barked orders at people and didn't really think things through." The turkish woman shrugged, not having a very high opinion of the person in question.
"Do you think I'm doing this right? I mean, we have better chances as a group and Walker's group, they could really help us."
"I don't know if there is a right, but I gotta trust you. You're family, and you're smart. I'm trusting you to make good decisions for the group."

Looking through a dresser by what looked to be the shunted remains of a bed; Lu was startled by a thud in a cabinet behind him. Not wanting to take any chances; in a single moment he reached down for his Vz.61; removing it from it's over-sized holster. He switched off the safety and gave a burst of 32. ACP through the thin cabinet doors. With the barrel sputtering sparks and small puffs of smoke; it had the desired effect of killing just about anything in front of it. At such short range, the room flashed with light as he squeezed off another burst through the doors, or what was left of them from the inital salvo. The room suddenly feel silent once more as Lu removed his finger from the trigger but keep it tightly against the trigger guard. Pausing to swallow what little saliva he had in his mouth; he took a cautious step forwards and transfixed his eyes on the cabinet as he approached it.

Saying nothing, Lu reached out with his spare hand and viciously wrenched the door open and peered inside; machine-pistol at the ready for whatever remained within. It was dark; with the lack of lighting in room and the small-ish size of the cabinet, Lu had to really squint his eyes at a slumped over body. He tilted his head to one side to match the rotation of the corpse's before him; looked to be a bandit of sorts. Sporting a leather coat and gothic, black leather boots, the man in question looked to be in his early twenties and had a small goatee to prove the point. 'Rebellious facial hair is all the rave with these biker gangs..' The thought made Lu grin as he jabbed the red-hot barrel against the forehead of the bandit; he listened carefully as his Vz.61 singed the corpses forehead, leaving a dark red circular burn. Judging by the amount of blood splattered on the back of the cabinet's walls and the fact that the body never moved once whilst he investigated; Lu felt that the threat was well and truely gone.

'There's probably more around here, i'd better be moving soon.' Nodding to himself, Lu went through the biker's pockets in search for any information in regards to what he was doing in this place; he would've asked but corpses don't make for the best conversationalists. Going through the bodies' wallet, Lu realized he felt nothing about killing the man in cold blood; looking into the biker's deep blue eyes, he felt the sudden urge to retch and leaned over to one side and gagged. Strangely, he wasn't sick; presumably it was down to the fact that he was rather dehydrated and had such little fluids to spare. Taking a deep breath and refocusing, Lu returned to searching through the biker's things before finding what he was looking for. Shoved down back of his denim trousers, Lu found the man's pistol. He took it and double checked it's safety was on and that there was no bullet in the chamber before his stepped up and back from the body to examine his new find. Running his fingers against the grained hand-grip, Lu read the imprinted text that was there 'Sig Sauer' and turning it over he saw on the other side 'P226'. Taking out the magazine and rotating it in front of him; Lu realized the pistol took 9x19mm ammunition before replacing the magazine back into the Sig and recocked it. Liking the light-weight and modern design; Lu unzipped his satchel bag and dropped the pistol within. 'Should be of some use, hard to find 32. ammo these days..'

Deciding it was time to go before the biker's buddies turned up. Lu climbed out of a busted window and dropped to the ground outside, a small puff of dust and sand greeted his landing and he set off in a direction to see if he was being followed at all. Grinning to himself as he looked back and confirmed he was alone in the sand-dunes; Lu glanced at his satchel bag and pondered about his choice. 'Well he had a gun, if I had my back turned for much longer, I bet he would've tried something..' Nodding to himself as he probably would've ambushed a stranger if he were in the Biker's shoes, Lu continued on into the desert in seach of water and prehaps more loot. Raising his hand to cover the top of his brow, Lu gazed into the distance for any sign of civilisation; he was rewarded with a plume of black smoke to his far right and having nothing better to do; Lu changed direction and headed straight for it.

Bringing his foot hard down on a long stretch of tarmac, Lu double checked his heading before deciding to follow the half-buried road towards what seemed to be a military installation of sorts. He presumed it were some sort of supply training station judging back it's run-down state and the patchy line of barbed wire fensing enclosing the area. Looking around for any signs or markers, he found none; probably lost to the sands or removed as part of a cover up. 'Ah.. so this must be where they keep the Aliens'. He looked down at his feet as he chuckled at the joke; though the approaching smoke made him refocus on the base. Getting to within 300 metres or so; Lu decided to take a break and hid down by some nearby rocks. Presuming that a base wouldn't be completely empty, he decided to do some recon on the area and wedged himself between two larger boulders to get comfortable as he peered into the base. Noticing a couple of watch-towers that looked to be a small breeze from toppling over, Lu pondered about the base's purpose; Fuel depot, emergency airstrip, desert survival training base? He went through several ideas, each one a little more sensible than the last.

When morning came Roger awoke to find Muffin had gone. He shrugged, the grizzly had probably just gone to find somewhere to drink, and catch something for herself to eat. That was the benefit of having a bear, Mufin pretty much took care of herself these days. She always came back when she found something. He stretched and decided to pass a bit of time before things needed doing by watching the sunrise.

Muffin kicked his mouth. The bear had dug up a small deposit of groundwater to drink, and ate a bit of scrub. The bear was mostly a carnivore but meat was harder to come by in the desert. When the sun came up she started the long trek back to the bridge. Breaking into a heavy gallop.

Ellie
She'd been watching him for a while now, this man getting closer and closer to the base. Once he'd gotten close enough Ellie slipped behind him, throwing an arm around his neck and pulling him into a headlock.
"Well well well, what have we here?" She grinned, pulling back to knock the man off balance. "You smell like a little council rat. What are you snooping around our little base for? The boss is going to looove this." With that she let out a whistle, drawing out two more men.
"Hey boys, I caught us a little rat. He came waltzing right in like he owned the place! Can you believe it?" Ellie tightened her grip around his neck choking him a little bit. "What should we do with him?"

Mark whistled as he fixed himself a pot of coffew from the halfway torn commanders tent. He sipped it quitetly trying to think of what to fix and or destroy today when he saw a glimpse of clothing in the ever lasting dirt. He wanted to brush off it as some torn up cloak but it wasn't that and he knew it. He grabbed his rifle from the humvee and stood on a couple wooden crate to peer over the fencing.

"Ay you! If you come any closer to me or my camp i swear i will bloe your head right of!" Mark yelled hoping for the mysterious figure to peer out of his hidy hole. The base to him was the last straw of actual civilization and order, along with weaponry somewhat operational vehicles, and food. He needed this place and protected it by any means so killing was not off the plate.

Jacob

He watched the man come closer to the base with Ellie. Once the man had settled down they started moving his way as quiet as possible. Ellie got the jump on him and yelled for them to come on. Jacob came around to the front of the man and immediately noticed the scorpion holstered on his leg. "If I see you reach for that gun, I promise you its the last thing you'll ever do." Jacob threatened. He then removed the rebar and concrete hammer from his back. "This here is Helga, shes big and heavy so sometimes I accidentally dropped her on people. If you want to help me hold her up I suggest you keep still and dont try to resist."

Muffin stopped in her tracks. The bear's ear twitched. Humans yelling angrily. She shook her head both ways. She wanted to go back to Roger. That was the only human she actually liked. Upon closer sniffing the grizzly realized that it was the human she'd seen leave last night. If she stretched up on her hind legs the animal could just see a sort of building in the distance. The bear huffed. Trotting, still in the direction of the bridge. The grizzly could go get the other humans. If she felt like it.

Mark eyballed the rock seeing a little bit more than one person moving now. "All of you step out from your rock or I will be forced to shoot! NOW!" Mark screamed with order and anger as he wanted to get rid of these tresspassers. He hated lawbreakers, even if there waan't law anymore he stood by his constitution. "Im gonna say it on more time, Move you asses out from behind thd rock with the order from the MCSS, Now!"

Royce dubiously looked to his people, and gave them a look of who is this guy? He unsung his Daniel Defense AR, one he found at a gun show that was happening as the bombs dropped. This one happened to be chambered in .308, and had a 4x magnification scope. "Hey, what the hell does that stand for anyway? Who are you to give anyone orders? And why the hell would we step OUT from cover to avoid getting shot?"

Ellie
“Yeah! How ya gonna shoot us through a rock, smartass?” Ellie tightened her grip on the man she had snuck up on. “Honestly it’s you who should be worried! If you take so much as a step within view I got two guys here ready to blast your head off, so why don’t you turn your stupid little ass around and fuck off?”
They had the upperhand here, standing behind a rock with what was practically a hostage, it was a joke to think otherwise. “Or you can try and take us, and get this little fool’s neck broken. How would you like that to be your fault?”

As he watched into the small camp, Lu heard something behind him; a crunch of sand? Turning his head, it was too late as he was caught off-guard by a sudden head-lock. Grunting slightly he moved his hand down towards the holster on his left leg but the sudden tighting grip around his neck forced him to abandon the idea as he latched onto the offending arm in order to get a better chance of taking some much needed breaths.

"The name's Sherlock.. i'm looking for my partner Watson.. short man, in a suit.. top hat really suits him." Lu muttered out of the corner of his mouth, eyeing the two other strangers that followed the woman. "You know, you got very smooth hands.... what sort of lotion do you use my dear?" Struggling to breathe but always picking the worst times to crack a joke; Lu's voice stuttered as he chuckled to himself. Remembering his own combat skills, he quickly threw a couple of elbows backwards towards Ellie before suddenly reaching down between his own legs and took hold of her left leg. Shifting all his weight to one-side, the two came toppling over and Lu latched himself to her leg and twisted. He felt like breaking the bone but with her goons so close, he decided to play it safe and reached for his Vz.61. Sliding back over a rock behind him; he was now in between both groups and seriously lucky that he wasn't already dead.

"Hey now, i'm just a travelling merchant... no need to get so hostile"

A ironic statement considering he then switched the safety off his machine-pistol but didn't dare move a inch.

Mark heard the shouts of a smartass about his own words. He swore he would love to just blow em up but he couldn't, but he could threat to. "I am lieutenant Mark Johnson of the Marine Corps. You are tresspassing on government land and this is the Marine Corps Survival Station! I will not use shoot or use exsplosives if you can prove you and your hiding friends behind the rock prove no danger to me or my area, is that clear?" Mark really had a trigger finger for these people but he needed to make sure it was justified so he had to make sure he could. The entire time he looked through his marksman rifle with a 6x scope and a muzzle brake. It never seemed to miss if Mark shot, and damn well if it did.

Mark never wanted these people here he needed them gone or in his sqaudron. The amount of people dead from his own battalion was growing by the hour so he needed more men to keep his land in order and safe. One man was not enough even for a small raid by bandits no matter how skillful he was.
(Sorry for edit forgot somethin)
Mark listened to the girl barking at him. He found no place for her to give orders. "Ma'am i do not care for whatever type of man you have behind that rock there but if he is outside of my sqaudron and tresspassing, he is as good as dead!" The tensions to shoot their, leader? Was very high for Mark. He hated to be barked at by some strangers trying to threaten him.

Royce
Who was this Mickey mouse chucklefuck? After muttering some shit about a tophat he threw himself down, landing on Ellie. While he was scrambling around to a rock in the middle Royce leveled a 9mm pistol at him and fired as he ran, appearing to catch him in the knee, but he didnt seem to notice with all that adrenaline. Royce took cover quickly and holstered his pistol, Jesus this guy is looking to be more than he's worth. "Marine? Hey, I dont know if you noticed 'lieutenant' but DC is a plate of glass and this is an air base, what in blue fuck are you doing here? Can't be any purple crayons for a few miles out here so you seem to be out of your element, devil-dog!"

Ellie
Getting toppled by the man she had grabbed in a chokehold certainly caught the former officer by surprise, not mention when he yanked on her leg. “Damn bastard-!” She yowled, rubbing at her calf. She’d have to suck it up until she could do something about it later.
“Alright some heads are gonna roll for this. Who wants to die first?” Ellie pulled out her pistol, firing a few potshots over the rock. She managed to get a bullet in the marine, but nothing vital. It’d be more a nuisance than anything.

Mark chuckled at how the crayon joke was yelled as a insult. Military banter was shared all through out and he sure in the hell wasnt gonna let a civ get to him. "Look here, DC can go fuck its self, and frankly im gald its glass, but you are in no room to tal-" In the middle of his sentence mark go shot in the upper left shoulder. His armor was definetly a life saver for that one but he wasn't going to take chances. "HEY WHAT THE HELL LADY! I was just fuckin talking you definetly dont play nice!"

Mark scattered anxiously to find a spare gernade in the broken humvee near him. He opened a weapkns crate and found two in prime condition. He pulled the pin and threw it to the rock. It hit the groud first and stopped right next to the rock and then Boom. It cracked the rock and definetly gave everyone on the other side some ear ringing and maybe a few peices of shrapnel. Mark ducked after he threw the gernade and rose after the explosion. "Now if i am challenged for my postion and my purpose here i can shoot now or throw another, your choice ya'll!"

Thinking of a escape plan, Lu's left leg started to feel wet and as he looked down he noticed a portion of his brown cargo trousers was now turning red.

"Shit..."

Sending a burst of 32. ACP back over the rock in return for the hole in his knee; Lu shouted down towards the Marine in hopes he could come to some sort of common agreement.

"Hey, Lt; I'm not with these thugs! Ninety Sixth Infantry Reservist... can you give me a hand!?"

He hopes were dashed as he saw the Marine take a hit and shuddered. After refocusing and sending another blind burst over the rocks; his Vz.61 came to a sudden stop as the magazine was empty. He pulled his hand back and shuffled further down on his stomach, doing what he could as he crawled slowly in the direction of the base. Meanwhile he had been awkwardly trying to retrieve his recently aquired pistol from his satchel bag; a hard enough feat in combat but as he was on the floor, moving, wounded and rather stressed. Lu fidgeted with the zipper as the grenade went off nearby. A piece of sharpnel struck him against the back of his head. By sheer luck the part that hit him wasn't a serrated edge and only the sudden blunt force knocked him completely out. Slumping his bloodied face sidewise, he went limp; although it would've been hard for the others to tell if he was actually dead or not from afar.

With that guy in the middle looking suspiciously dead or at the very least bleeding out, this was going downhill fast. "Do you know this guy or something? You may have just killed him. Look at you, upholding the American ideals of blowing up people in a crossfire!"

Mark gritted his teath at the strangers remarks. He was getting tired of him talking mark down so he aimed and fired straight at the right hand of the man. "Shut the fuck up now!" Mark rushed to the gates where Lu layed unconsious, he checked his pulse and found he was ok. He carried him on his back and started to rush inside the gates

With the man losing patience and shooting, missing because Royce never left cover behind the rock, he ran and seemed to check on the man and start helping him to cover. Fuck this guy. she stood and shot with the .308 at the back of his plate carrier, should survive, but he did fall forward with the seemingly unconscious man on his back, landing on top of him. Staying braced to the rock he took aim at the man's head. "You both just stay down there. For a marine, it didnt take you long to loose your patience and run at the guns pointed at you. We're leaving, take the weekend warrior with you. But for now you stay down. And dont move unless you want your skull ventilated."

Mark fell to black and arose seconds later to the woamn giving a speech. He hated the civillians trying to diminiah what was left of his mind. "I may not be as capable if keeping a cool as before but i am still a marine and i uphold the constititiou. You slimy rat" He mumbled loud enough to for her to hear and felt for his Desert Eagle sidearm just incase.

Ellie
“Oh no no no,” Ellie stepped out from behind the rock, over to the man now laying on the ground, to dig the heel of her boot into his hand. “Don’t even think about it.”
“Funny, I thought military men were smart. Did you happen to notice there is no country anymore? The united states is a pile of fucking ashes and the only thing left to do is fend for yourself. Which you aren’t doing so good at right now.” Ellie ground her heel in further, laughing at his face. “You’re dead meat, honey baby.”
