Luka Vandevelde

Ayane said:
"Thea has travelled quite a bit around Florence. She can inform you of things." Thea gave a thumbs up to Luka. She also took the time to observe her. She seemed the same height, yet much more prettier than she was. She didn't want to admit it, but she was quite jealous. As the last person of the group went on, the skyship started to rise and go to its destination.
The girl was delighted to receive the thumbs up, now relaxing her tense shoulders. Taking a pause in the conversation, she made her way to a window to look out as the airship began take off. She hadn't ridden in an airship before, finding it easier to take trains for long distance trips. In fact, she had never risen this high before, she smiled, technically she was flying. Her face suddenly dulled, her smile dropping. Maybe if she had more willpower, or something, she could fly herself. She had a bird persona, for crying out loud, it's almost expected of her. She rose a hand up to meet the soft hummingbird on her shoulder. Although her persona understood her perfectly, she bit her lip, wondering if she was a disappointment to her companion at times. Luka broke her train of thought, hearing Cereth finally.
Cereth turned her attention back to Luka. "My first visit to Florence was this morning actually."
She thought back.

"And oh- did it leave an impression..."

"It sure did!" Liafort added.
Luka turned around, putting her back to the window with a grin. "I'm so happy I can share my first moments in Florence with a group of people! It'll be extra memorable for me now- but maybe not as memorable as it is for you!" She laughed, feeling the airship go into its descent phase now. As it landed, Luka might as well have not even bothered listening to Thea because she was trailing her anway. "Food!" She yelled, her hummingbird flying off her shoulder as Luka took off.

Thea gave her a smile as the skyship started its engines. "We need to get on! That would be bad cause..." She checked her phone, "It's the last one for today." Thea pulled open the doors for the group, Sana opening the other door as well. "Welcome to the defenders of Arcandia." Sana gave the girl a more formal greeting with a flick of her tail and a smile. Thea looked at the sunset from the window along with Sana, and she rested her chin on her arms. She was exhausted in all honesty. The clouds drifted by as the ship slightly increased speed, causing Sana to tumble at bit. Both didn't particularly didn't like being high up in the air, "I feel sky sick again," Thea mumbles as she could see the city below. Skyships were quite useful---they travelled faster than cars and trains combined. The skyship landed softly, and the doors opened up and the engine was cut off. "Keep up! The inn is on Anderson street on the left!" Sana followed after her with a quick apologetic glance towards the group for Thea's hastiness.

Rei heard the familiar sounds of an airship and looked up. She was always watching thinks from afar and never getting to close. Just like how she did with people. The she saw Thea exiting the ship with others following.

"why not go over there? either way she'll see you standing here." Kori, Rei's persona commented.

"don't ask stupid questions." Came Rei's reply. "if you want to go, then go. but i've already stated my intention of not getting close to people." Rei restated and went back to watching the city from the rooftop of a nearby building.

"always the loner, huh?" Kori chuckled. "you should at least try to deal with people. you don't need to be close with someone to use them." The mystic variant looking wolf added.

"Sweet airship." He says, looking down at the ground beloe them. "Really sweet. Where did you get it?" He asks, rather excited. "Defenders have their own swagger now."

Thea was running towards the inn when she saw a familiar face---it was one of those deja-vu moments but you forgot where and why. "I know you..." she said stopping in front of Rei and suddenly remembered. "Balnor...Rei?" Thea had a quick flashback from when she lived in Balnor when her uncle and aunt died. She quickly discarded the sad thought and smiled. "How's your brother?? Of course, I forgot his name." Sana sighed and looked over at Luka, "Just tell the innkeeper that you know Cynthia...ah Thea. The roasted chicken is the best by the way." Sana says with a small wink.

"told ya she'd see you." Kori whispered as Thea approached. "hiya Thea, been awhile." Kori greeted.

Rei's eyes turned on Thea. Her eyes were different from when they had first met. The spark of light in Rei's eyes from that time were gone now. And Thea bringing up her brother didn't help as the reminder of her bother made her eyes darken farther. "Thea..." Rei greeted simply.

"aw, come on Rei. isn't this supposed to be the 'heart-touching' reunion?" Kori was speaking in a sarcastic tone to hide that he really meant that. Kori drew his power from the darkness in peoples hearts. But that didn't mean Kori himself was evil.

"shut up, Kori." Rei commanded, then looked back at Thea.

Upon entering the inn, Cereth first noticed the aesthetic.

She was a sucker for design and decor.

This place reminded her of her hometown with the dimmed lights and the dull color palette. It was comforting at first.

But her hometown wasn't a place she wanted to remember.

The visuals were no longer pleasant. They were now disgusting.

"What a nice place." Cereth said.

"Yeah, kinda reminds me of-"

"Oh- looks like Thea is busy." Cereth interrupted. She realized how rude she sounded, but didn't care to correct herself.

Besides- Liafort was rude all the time to her.

She overheard a bit of their conversation.

I had no idea Thea was so popular.

Thea gets around.

...I shouldn't say it like that...

"Of all the places, I never thought I'd see you here." Thea says with a smile, purposely disregarding the fact that Rei herself had changed. "And you, hi Kori!" Thea didn't know what to say, much since she was processing the new Rei in her mind. "I established a group to take down the troops of New Arcandia. I think you'd be perfect for the group." She offers, "Defenders of Arcandia...its has a catchy tone to it." She spots Cereth and waves, "That's Cereth. Hey Cereth! I think the inn might be a good HQ, what do you think? It has rooms upstairs and everything!" Thea yells enthusiastically at her. Sana then appears, and smiles at the familiar faces. "Hello Kori and Rei."

Thea turned back to her old friend, "So, what do you say?"

Ian sighed. 'This is already enough' he thought 'I just happend to get caught up in a firefight in a city I happened to be in. I hitchhiked onto a sky ship that just happened to lead to a life full of riches.' Ian thought about that and laughed out loud

Rei Kiro & Kori

(Rei and Kiro)

Side: Defenders
Rei turns away as she thinks Thea's offer to join her over. Pacing back and forth, a habit that just refused to leave her. After a minute, she looks at Thea and nods.

"At least talk to Thea, Rei." Kori says, standing beside Thea. "by the way, i need to tell you something privately later." Kori whispers to Thea and walks back to Rei.

"fine, sure i'll join you and..." She looks at the rest of the group. "them" Rei finished.

Luka Vandevelde

Luka had already secured a spot at a table in the inn. Being there, surrounded by the smell of food, already began to bring her body out of it's shifted metabolic state. She had unconciously entered the beginnings of a torpor on the way over, which kept her giggling and smiling rather than crying for food. The ambiance reminded her of one of her past jobs, being a waitress at Poltragow for a couple of weeks before she was fired. She wasn't sure what she ordered, but she made sure they knew she was with Thea. Her stomach grumbling she slumped over the table and drank as much water as she could. With most of the seats at the table she was at currently empty, she stretched her legs out across the seats and looked at the decor. Her hummingbird jetted off, exploring the nooks and crannies of the room himself. As he flew off out of her sight she whispered, "Come back for dinner, okay?" and watched him fly off. They shared the same curious soul that couldn't stay in one place too long, that was for sure.

Thea waited for her response as she watched her pace. 'Oh, I remember the pacing,' she thought to herself as she stopped to nod at her. "So, yes?!" Thea asked cautiously and looked over at Rei's persona. She nodded to what Kori said, and was delighted that she decided to join. "That's great! Great! I should go talk to the innkeeper...if you need lodging you can go upstairs." She at the two and nodded at Kori before turning away. She didn't like her new old friend. She wondered what Kori would have to say later...

"God dammit" Ian said aloud. "I get taken to a diner for one time and I don't have shit to pay for it." Ian turned his pants pockets inside out. "2 copper coins. Some grass, and. Oh it's hopeless"

"Join the club." Cereth muttered.

She strolled over to the table that Luka was sitting at.

"You look comfortable." She smilked.

She looked back to Ian. "Why don't you join us? We can lament together over being poor..."

"Who's really to blame for being so poor?" Liafort asked, not seeming to read the mood.

"...You're lucky you don't have to worry money... Do personas even need to eat?"

"I'd be very responsible with my money if I were human."

"I highly doubt that."

"Uh okay. My names Ian. I grew up in Balnor. Big city, overpopulated," Ian began to frown "Every metal there is corroded. Nobody pays attention... Fuck. Well a good thing is that you, uh, you....Jesus Christ that place was bullshit!" Ian slammed his face onto the table he was sitting at

Side: Defenders
Rei nodded and watched as Thea ran off towards the inn.

"are we going to follow her?" Kori asked, he waas at least gonna convince Rei to sleep near the Inn. So he could explain to Thea why Rei has changed.

"no... but since i said i'd join her group. then i'll sleep somewhere close." Rei answered, she was still keeepig her walls firmly in place. Turning, Rei walked off to find something to eat... away from Thea and her group.

"...." Kori followed silently. Either way, this luckily meant he could speak with Thea later.

-Cereth Pavette (I've been forgetting to do this for the last couple posts)

"..." She stared wide-eyed at Ian. She didn't have a word to say.

O-okay...

"Woaaaah there, buddy." Liafort chirped. "I'd be pretty pissed if I grew up in Balnor too!"

"I'm sorry you had to live in such a place..." She said.

Cereth had never been to Balnor. Nobody would willingly go there, and Cereth was no idiot. That was the one place you wanted to avoid.

But even though she had never been to Balnor, she didn't doubt the stuggles.

Luka Vandevelde

Luka moved her legs, making room for more people to join them. She put her back to the wall and pulled her legs up and hugged them, keeping herself warm, but it showed that she really had poor table manners at times. "Balnor was something I've never seen before," Luka said, nodding in agreement to Ian."I lost all the money I made in Poltragow, I guess you could say it was stolen. I could only afford to live in Balnor, and even then I scraped by." She lowered her gaze, running her hands over her cotton pant legs. She was caught up thinking about those days, but then she shifted, sitting up straight with her legs back on the floor. She had to change the atmosphere, for her own sake. "I'm Luka, by the by, if we haven't properly met yet." She nodded to Ian. She felt her stomach growl, wondering when her food would come out of the inn's kitchen. "B-But, you know, it'll be different now! This is Florence, it's so big, I bet finding a job and getting money will be a piece of cake!" She chimed, already daydreaming about what her next job will be like. "And even if we can't pay for the food tonight, I'm sure Thea could arrange that we work for the inn tonight and pay it back- or I can fake some tears in front of the owner and beg for work or for the meal to be free..."

"Seems like only the last option would work" Ian chuckled "nice to meet you luka. Plus education in balnor is terrible. They haven't even taught me how to summon my persona. But I can hear it in my head. It says it's a cheeta. Never tells me it's name though.

Locke proceeded to hammer the table with his fist while his forehead pitifully laid on top of cup coaster. Roma glared at the boy's childish behavior.

Epax said:
"Bless your kind heart." Ian took some chicken and stuffed it in his mouth. "This chicken is amazing" he nearly shed a tear at how kind this persona was."Thank you. You kind racoon"
"You're welcome!" Roma said, "And I hope you will one day soon see your persona with your own eyes."

Roma cheerfully continued giving out the chicken to the rest of the group.

The cup coaster was sticking idiotically on the boy's forehead as he continued speaking, "This is my life! I work hard trying to make a living for the two of us and she just spends it all!"

"Who's the one that makes us undetectable during our heist?" Roma yelled out to the boy in anger. "Just calm down you greedy boy! This bag of ill-gotten gain is hindering you from turning away from a life of crime. So stop your pouting or I'll give you something to cry about!"

"Do you see what I have to deal with!" Locke said to Ian in dismay.

Luka Vandevelde

Luka sat up straight, the corners of her mouth already watering looking at the hot chicken. "I couldn't take it from you..." She mumbled, noting Locke's reaction. She bit her lip, testing her willpower. Her stomach growled, and her hummingbird flew over, dropping over and onto Luka's satchet. Luka looked down at her bag, she lifted the small leather purse and opened it. All that was there were her personal belongings. She double checked for any money, but slumped over in disappointment. After a moment, she closed her bag and stared at the front. It was decorated with pins and badges she had collected since Summerfields. She rose her head suddenly, freeing a simple bronze pin with a hummingbird off of her bag and slid it to Locke. "Here, once I get money I'll pay you back for the meal. Until then, you can keep this pin. Once I pay you back, you can give me the pin back!" She smiled, hoping it'd lessen the pain. Her stomach gurgled, and she laughed nervously, "S-So, may I have some?"
