Following the stars
Faraday closes her bag, having finally filled it with enough food to last her another two weeks, which she will then have to repeat this journey once again. She throws the bag over her shoulder before walking over to the door. She pauses for a moment, sharply glancing over her shoulder to give one last look of the room, now growing dark from the setting sun. The shelves were nearly empty now, but she estimated it still had another month's worth before she would need to move on. She was hoping to not be around this part of the city by then.
Faraday quietly shuts the door behind her, making sure it was tightly shut. She stands on steps, looking around the empty and fenced plot as the sun's rays warmed her face. Her heels quietly clicked against the steps as she descended down them towards the ground. This was only a temporary life style, once she finds her way through the city to her destination, hope will return... however it has been three years now.. and any pathway there still remains swarming with zombies, as if they were specifically there to prevent her from reaching it.
She still, given the circumstances, remained pristine, her long hair tightly tied up, and clothing and footwear always maintained. It was as if she thought of this city as her laboratory and she was continuing her research life as it was before the outbreak.
The quiet clicking of the pavement slowly came to a stop as she stops in front of the entrance in which she first entered. The one zombie she tied down was still frantically reaching through the fence, but its two companions were nowhere in sight. Most likely having lost the urge to chase her, and become tempted by her "secret recipe again". Her brows furrow slightly as she stares at yet another failed attempt.
" Blasted... Well then...shall we move onto phase two." Faraday takes her dissection kit out of the front pocket once again, withdrawing a scalpel while the Zombie continues to stare blankly at her while it desperately tries bite through the fence.
" Now... my dear, let's see your condition... don't worry... this will hurt me more than it will hurt you" She smirks as she slowly slides the blade along the skin around the point of injection. The skin easily opens to reveal muscle in which she begins to inspect.
