Realistic or Modern We're the Experiements

thatteaganchick

Yeah, that one.
We're The Experiments

We were all conceived and born in a laboratory. The scientists fused human DNA and bird DNA to create us; human-avian hybrids. At one week old we were sent to live with a normal family to be raised like normal children, but also to be observed. When we reached the age of 10 and began the process of 'puberty' we were taken back to the laboratory in which we were created and the scientists began running tests on us.

They've poked and prodded us for years. They've injected us with serums to observe the effect it has on our bodies. They've ripped off pieces of our skin to test our natural healing capacities. We've been pushed to the limit with exercises so that they can measure our strength and stamina, and we've been forced to remain awake for days on end while they record our brain activity.

Every kind of test you can think of has, at one time or another, been forced upon us. All in the name of science.

Almost every day the scientists have something planned for us. Whether that be individual testing, or something that involves more than one victim.

But on this particular day, nobody has been summoned.

We each sit in our separate cells waiting for the guards to come and take us to experience a new form of abuse. The lack of activity is a relief, but its also very unsettling.

Our cells line both sides of a long corridor. Each cell is a simple padded room because the scientists don't want to risk one of their precious experiments figuring out a way to fashion themselves a makeshift weapon out of a chair or a bed.

There's tension in the air when the guards come to take us individually to visit the restroom. At least they didn't forget that we still need to relieve ourselves.

We collectively sense than an opportunity is drawing near.

I'd like to begin this with all characters being inside their individual cells. We'll create an escape from there.

  • AT LEAST one full paragraph per post. Please?
  • Please use full sentences, correct grammar and punctuation.
  • Just stick to the site rules. I don't mind cussing, just don't go overboard.
  • GET CREATIVE! We're writing this thing together. Your ideas are as good as mine, so if you have an idea (and it can be inclusive and interesting for all characters) feel free to write away.
  • Please just go with the flow. Its more interesting when we work together.
  • No GodMod'ing. Make sure your character has flaws and is capable of making mistakes. A good roleplay involves characters that need to work together with their strengths and weaknesses.

Natalia stares at the ceiling while she hums a song that her host mother, Marlene, had taught her when she was a young girl. Whenever she woke up after a nightmare, Marlene would go to Nat’s room and sit by her bed. She said that if Nat wanted to scare away the bad dreams, all she had to do was lay with her back flat against the bed, and her legs up parallel to the wall, and hum a happy tune. Nat knew the idea of scaring dreams away was stupid, but the method did work well for relaxation. Her cell didn’t contain a bed, so she made do with the floor.

She wiggled the toes on her bare feet. Her body was the only thing with colour in the cell. The scientists dressed each experiment in plain white clothing. Nat hated the tank top and leggings. She longed for something with more character and colour.

The cell was padded on every surface with extra cushioning on the floor so the experiments could sleep (almost) comfortably.

Nat can hear nothing except the sound of her own voice and the noises her body made when coming in contact with the cell. Sometimes that soft rustle of her shirt against the floor was all she’d hear for hours on end. She stopped humming and rolled onto her side causing her legs to flop to the ground. The lack of activity outside had begun to spark her curiosity. She had the sense that she should prepare herself for something. Swiftly getting to her feet, Nat began doing stretches.

Andre paced back and forth in his cell. There was nothing to do, and he found this irritating. Usually the scientists would give the experiments a ‘gift’ that they’d get to keep for an hour or two. Sometimes it’d be books, other times they’d get a ball or a soft toy. The scientists think they’re being gracious by allowing the experiments a few moments with these objects. Really it’s just a reminder that they’re stuck in some sort of laboratory complex, being used and abused for ‘science’. Andre appreciated when they gave him books though. He’d sit and read them as quickly as possible before they’d take them away from him.

Today they hadn’t given him anything. Not even a barbie doll to mock his masculinity. He stopped pacing and leant against the wall, facing the door. Crossing his arms, he stared into the camera mounted above the doorframe. They were being watched. The experiments received no privacy except for when they visited the toilet cubicles every couple of hours.

‘Surely they’ll be around soon,’ he thought. It was past time for him to be taken for his walk of shame to the bathroom.

Andre looked down at the soft, pyjama-like pants and plain white t-shirt provided to him by the scientists. He’d worn the same outfit for the past 8 years. They gave each experiment a clean set of clothes every day when taken to have a shower, but on this particular day they hadn’t come. ‘Maybe its some sort of test,’ Andre rationalised silently, ‘Lets see how long the experiments can last without a shower.’ He let out a sharp sigh and resumed pacing around his cell.

Evelynn sat up against the wall in her padded cell. Another day added to the years of beings here. She curled her legs up to her chest, laying her head on her knees. Her vibrant red hair brushed over her legs as she just stared at the door, wondering what the scientists would do next. It was peaceful to be left alone, and she didn't hear much noise at all from the outside. Just a still, low hum of an air conditioner. Although, this silence made her curious, yet frightened. What could they possibly doing? Was it a test, or was the still silence something more than that?

Normally she would hear the bustling of "doctors", and the boots of the guards outside her door, but not today. Nothing. Silence. Where is everyone? Are... are the other subjects still here? This pinged her curiosity to a high level. Now this was really something she wanted to find out.

She got up slowly from her position on the wall, and walked over to the door of her cell to attempt on looking out the door. The flap for her door had been shut, and the window was too tall for her to reach. "Hm..." She reached up on her tip toes, trying to reach the window the best she could. Since she came here from her host family, she's been trying her best to reach the window, to no avail. Today, she at least could reach the tip of the window with the tips of her fingers. Maybe I should... She cupped her hands to her mouth, shaking from fright as to what might happen if she spoke. "H...Hello? A-anyone there...?" Evelynn waited for a response, gripping the frame around the door and shaking in fear as to what might happen, if anything happens at all.

Daniel had counted the minutes he had been awake, the guards should have been here fifteen minutes ago. Sometimes they are late but not this late unless they have an 'issue' with someone else. Rarely does it happen seeing most of them had given up on breaking free or at least having fun by resisting. The ceiling of his cell was cushioned much like the walls and floor, he enjoyed being so comfy all the time but his putrid hatred of the cell's loneliness got to him. On occasion one of the doctors he didn't try to tear apart came to get him with only a few guards, though rare he didn't resist as much and on occasion he just went along as if it were his routine.

His anger fluctuated as he thought about the previous days experiments, not that they hurt but how rude and abrupt people were to one another. As if they were in a rush, Daniel even got a demeaning stare from one the doctors he liked, he didn't like being stared at. He couldn't remember the last time he saw another patient, sometimes they'd grab them in groups but Daniel never went with another. The only time he had seen the others was when they had stared at him, a few girls and boys he didn't know the names of. His train of thought was interrupted by someone speaking, words he recognized that of a girl, a foolish one to talk out loud. With a loud groan he sat up and sighed, his thick arms were sore from the needles put him. With out standing he said in a booming voice,"If you get caught talking they'll take away food for a day, you know that."

Today is a new day, she thought. I'm going to have to go through another set of horrible torture, and get some time of fun. I wish I could meet the others like me, she complained. She decided to do some yoga and stretches, like her mom taught Her. It kept her occupied for some time, she also enjoyed singing, art and dancing.

Elizabeth was bored, and super confused. Why aren't they doing something? Testings, injections or at least giving us some sort of entertainment, she thought. She wondered what was wrong, she walked up the the indestructible glass, and peaked through it. "Nobody" she mumbled. "Hello?" She had heard a voice of a girl not a doctor. "I'm here" she said cheerfully then quickly covered her mouth. Oh no! I spoke when I wasn't allowed. Then again, there didn't seem to be any doctors near. She waited for an answer from the girl who had spoken. She started jumping up and down. She had always loved the bouncy floor.

Evelynn looked down at the floor when the boy spoke, embarrassed at her attempt. Though, the way he spoke to her annoyed her, yet frightened her a little. She jumped when he did speak up, and sighed. "Whatever it's worth to know that I'm not alone, at least, not near..." Her eyes wandered around the room, remembering that she was being watched by the doctors. She discontinued what she had to say, and sighed.

Nothing else was spoken from her mouth, until she heard the girl. It was wonderful to hear a kind voice again, unlike the monotone voices of machines and doctors, as well as guards telling her what to do. Each time they spoke, they repeated each time that if she ran, they'd punish her. "If a name means anything to you, m-my name is Evelynn." Her voice was a little quieter, but enough for the young girl nearby to hear. She knew that if the doctors were paying attention, they'd punish her. At this point, she didn't care. Although it still scared her, the thought of what they'd do to her.

She waited for an answer for a moment, then spoke mainly to the girl, not wanting her to pay for her own risks. "If you don't want to speak, don't. I know I'm going to pay for this, but don't let me drag you with me." With that, she slowly sat down against her door, back in the position with her legs tucked in and her chin laying on top of them. She didn't expect an answer from anyone, and really didn't want any more than what she got from the two people. That was all the interaction she needed for one day, and it would last her a long time. She made a small memory that may seem like nothing to others on the outside, but a treasuring moment for her. The little things are the most enjoyable in this place, as long as it reminds you who you can become outside of these walls. The words of her hosting mother, Susan, rang in her mind, making her smile at the memory of her, and tried her best to rid of the bad memories that engulfed her life in every corner she turned.

Noah is seated in his cell, the eerie silence around him makes his face burn. His dark eyes are shut, listening. He inhales deeply, twitching his wings. They often have a mind of their own. The massive black wings expand from his back, causing him to arch slightly and grunt. He sighs and opens his eyes just as his wings give a power thrust, shoving him back and causing a few black feathers to fly out from his cell, and go every which way down the hall to wherever the others were kept. He is about to shut his eyes again when a young woman begins to speak. He wings fold against his muscular back and he gets to his feet. He knew there were others of him, yet he had never got to see them despite a glimpse now and then. The last experiment who spoke and disregarded the rules of the scientists was taken away and never seen again. Frankly, Noah would rather be killed then kept in a cell any longer. "
Nice to meet you, Evelynn." Noah spoke, his voice deep and almost sleepy sounding to the girl who sounded to be celled rather close to him. "I'm Noah, if it makes you feel any better i'd rather be dragged down then kept here any longer." He spoke the last part in almost a growl through clenched teeth.

Sierra is curled up, her wings tightly bound around her as she listens to the silence that engulfs the area. Her eyes are tightly shut, imaging herself drifting in the dark nothingness alone. Suddenly a voice, two voice, three, four voices. She tightens her wings around her in fear. How could they speak when the last one who spoke was taken away and never seen again?! She pushes herself against the icy wall and shuts her eyes tighter this time. Hoping the silence would come back so she could forget about the others who were trapped with her, and how the scientists were usually buzzing around and testing on them..

Natalia quickly stepped over to the door and peered out through the window. There was nothing unusual outside. Just the cell across from her, where she swore she'd heard a deep, defiant voice. The other experiments had began talking. Nat had met a couple of them briefly when the scientists called upon them for a group tests. They were speaking now, which meant they'd noticed the lack of activity too. Nat glanced up at the camera above her head. It was pointing right at her, tracking her movements. She looked back out the window and shrugged. The others had spoken with no consequence so she decided to take the risk. Her voice came out hoarse from not being used in such a long time, "Has anybody been taken for testing today? I haven't heard any movement." She appreciated that two of them had mentioned their names. Evelynn and Noah. Now she could call them by name instead of saying 'the other experiments'.

Andre stood at the tiny window, looking and listening. He couldn't see much except the cell directly across from him and the two on either side of that. Someone in what sounded like the cell next to him asked if anybody had been taken for testing. They hadn't. He didn't reply because there was no point. They'd all heard and seen the exact same thing, which was absolutely nothing. He could hear the camera above his head zooming in and out trying to focus on him. It was so close that he could simply reach up and rip it out of the wall. The punishment for doing that would not be worth the satisfaction, so he ignored it.

Evelynn sighed in relief of another voice that spoke up after a minute of silence that broke out. It was the voice of a young man. For her, she would've just stopped talking altogether and went back to her fearful state. But, something about his voice drew her to trust him slightly, seeing that he also was the same as she is. She felt more relaxed to the sound of friendly communication, and decided to answer the girl with the hoarse voice. "No, but we shouldn't speak too soon." Eve calmly stated, trying to hold her voice from being shaky like it always was.

She then returned her attention to the boy, thinking about his name. Noah. What a nice name. A smile crept to the corners of her mouth, slightly lifting them, but not too much. "That's a nice name, Noah.." She spoke more casually, and repeated the name once more in her head. It was a slightly common name, but it was a fitting name never the less. Why am I acting this way? I could be dragged away... punished... killed... Once her thoughts rolled in, she came to a dead silence. The only noise that she made was her breathing as she sat there against the door, contemplating whether she should continue in conversation, or become mute for the rest of the evening. Either way, she still started the whole mess of speaking, and would be punished for it.

Vera was bored stiff. Usually they would have came to administer their daily dose of "entertainment" by now, that being anything from being zapped in an electric chair to being poked with a stick like a penguin until she reacted. Letting her gaze scan the thick padded walls of her lovely abode, Vera turned and laid upon her stomach. The prisoner's uniform ( consisting of thin, oversized t-shirt and loose pants, both stark white in color) hanging loosely off her lean frame, sprawled out around her. Vera's dark hair and wings contrasting greatly to the brightness of the room. Laying her head upon her arms, she attempted to fall asleep seeing as there wasn't much more she could be doing.

Vera was just about to drift off before she heard voices. Frowning slightly, she slowly stood, stretching as she walked to the door. Being just tall enough to look out of the window, Vera peered out to the other cells where the voices originated from. Hearing that no one has been taken for their daily "penguin stick poking" something was...off. Finally making up her mind, she contributed to the weak excuse for a conversation "Well..." She began, her voice hoarse from lack of use "something either must be off or their testing to see how we react to change." She stretched her wings, though they barely extended before brushing the padded walls.

Lawrence yawned and curled up in the corner of his cell. He wasn't really tired, seeing as he didn't have much space to move around. However, he was extremely bored since no one had come to give him his bathroom break or anything else. Being bored certainly beat getting tortured but it was unnerving. By this time they usually brought entertainment of some sort. Although that wasn't always entertaining since he usually got a small, ugly stuffed animal. He sat up when he heard voices, then went over to the door to hear better. He didn't say anything, just listened quietly. It was weird hearing non-violent voices again. Of course the one voice he wanted to hear was Lester's, but that would probably get Lester in trouble. Lawrence sighed quietly and glared at the camera before curling back up in the corner.

Lester stood in the middle of his cell and flapped his wings slowly. He closed his eyes and enjoyed the slight breeze it created. If he thought hard enough, it almost felt like he was outside. Of course that had been 7 years ago and it was hard to remember what it even felt like. He jumped a little when he heard a quiet female voice. He went over to his door and listened to the following conversation. A couple of the voices were worried about what would happen if they were caught talking. He glanced up at the camera and once again considered destroying it. He smiled faintly as he thought about what Lawrence might say. 'They would just replace it as fast as you can destroy it. Might as well save yourself the pain.' He sighed and shook away the memories of Lawrence. He hated to think about what these people probably did to his twin. He ground his teeth and sat against the door. He closed his eyes and listened to the voices, taking comfort in knowing he wasn't alone.

Kita closed her eyes for a while, imagining what it would be like to be free, to be a normal human being who wasn't just another nameless test subject. She thought about the different kinds of clothes she could wear if she was free and how cool she could be. Then Kita slowly opened her eyes, realizing no one had come yet. No bathroom, no shower, no gifts, and certainly not experimentation. The silence of the room was ear piercing so she softly sang a few short songs to herself.

The confusion was sort of exhausting, so Kita rolled onto her side to try and fall asleep, but she couldn't. It was just so odd that no one came. She stared at the door for a while and decided that there had to be logic behind it. 'Maybe they saw how awful this all really is...' then she decided against that thought, 'No, if they knew that, they would let us go'. Kita wondered if the other test subjects noticed yet. 'Whatever, maybe this is a test. Maybe we're supposed to...' Her wings sprang out from the tattoos and spread out the complete length of the small cell.

She stopped talking to herself when she thought she heard a muffled melody. 'But... that's impossible... I wouldn't be able to hear another test subject singing or humming if I wanted to...' Kita abruptly stood up. 'Is my hearing enhanced...? No, then I would be able to hear more than just what's in my room... But still...' She slumped back onto the floor and pulled her knees to her chest. 'I don't even know anymore....' Kita's wings withdrew from being spread out to being curled around her small frame, hugging her protectively.

Penelope let her fingers trace the padded wall, pale hair falling into her face as she imagined a better time with her host family. It was probably the best memories she had. Oh how she missed the dancing.

Her rose coloured eyes glanced up and around the cell, falling back so she lay on the floor like a starfish. Penelope didn't get why they had to test them, why they had to take so much medication. 'Its for the best'. Her slender fingertips tapped the floor in boredom, creating a little jaunty tune. How long had it been since she'd seen the sky? Pale pastel blue, dotted with cotton clouds. Or how the sky would darken, and rain would fall in small droplets. Sometimes the setting sun leaving the blue expanse filled with oranges and reds. She coughed, rubbing her collarbone clambering to her feet after hearing quiet voices. We'll get in trouble if they keep talking. Penny stood at the door, and looked out the small window, her prisoners uniform hanging off her small, and slender frame. She placed her hands on the door, the cool metal on her palms as she peered out with curious eyes, hinted by fear. She would've called out, yet the words were stuck in her throat. Lodged and unable to move.

Aavak stirred slowly awake to the sounds of a distant conversation down the hallway. It sounded like a woman and a man talking casually. "That'd be the doctors" Aavak thought to himself while examining the foam tile he refered to as C,6, counting the holes in it to have not changed overnight. With a sigh he propped himself against a padded wall and waited for some 'entertainment' or a test. Wishing for a stuffed toy or something to have a mental conversation with, he sat and waited, noticing the conversation stopping and the facility becoming deathly quiet.

"Curious." He said to himself as he went to the door to his cell and gave it a testing kick, which just managed to make a loud noise, causing a few gasps to break the silence following.

He looked to the security camera above the door, with the panel removed off of the side and wires sticking out the side from his own tinkering. The ever present red flashing of the front facing LED now stopped.

"Curious and Curiouser." He said to himself as he backed away from the door to contemplate his situation. Remembering the rush and noise of yesterday, and taking a hazard guess that he was in fact alone, and there were actually no Doctors or Scientists currently here, only other test subjects.

"They're not here." he yelled out, to no one in particular.

He sat down and looked towards the now shoe scuffed door, contemplating an escape.

Emily stood rigged, her shoulders stiff and her head tilted sideways as she listened intently to the chatter going on around her. She had been drifting in and out of dreams all morning almost happy to spend her time sleeping rather than being dragged off to the labs. When the voices had awoken her she had prayed silently that they would all not be punished for the foolishness of the other experiments. Gently she tip-toed towards the cell door, her wings dragging behind her.

She wasn't tall enough to see outside the tiny window, but she could clearly hear the voices now. Some chattered nervously and some sounded confident, almost hopeful. She shook her head and glanced towards the camera in the corner of the room with its red blinking light and glass eye focused on her. Never had the scientists missed their daily schedule like this, but it seemed too good to be true and in places like this that always meant trouble. Perhaps they were testing them? Singling out the disobedient ones?

There was no way she was going to follow along. Lowering herself to the ground, she folded her wings around her and listened in silence

~

Finn sat crossed legged on the floor, his arms folded behind his head whilst he hummed a cheerful tune. He had been listening to the other experiments in silence for the time being, calculating the numbers as his curiosity was sparked. He had never been allowed to mingle with the others and he was certain it was because the scientists feared he would rally them. He grinned at the thought, images of winged warriors in his mind. How epic such a thing could be. He laughed out loud, pushing his large and muscular body up from the floor and skipped across to the window. He was tall enough to be able to see out into the corridor and he noted that they were empty and eerily quiet.

He pouted to himself, saddened by the fact that he would not be able to leer at the scientists walking by which was always his favorite daily activity to pass time by. He angled his face to glance further down the corridor and cupped his hands around his mouth. "Hey!" he yelled, whilst laughing. "I think the scientists have gone on break and forgotten the children!" He laughed again, a great rumbling laugh that echoed around his room.

Karie sighed, pulling her knees up to her chest as she sat on the floor as much as she could... glancing around the padded room blankly but suddenly hearing a tune and looking up curiously, "another...inmate?.." she asked, her enhanced hearing making the tune extremely clear as she went back to looking around, her angel-like wings curling around her slightly. A guard came in to check on her, looking through the small window on the door and pressing a button to speak with her "come with me please, you have been allocated bathroom time." he said firmly, Karie sighed, getting up and nodding 'I hate getting 'special privileges'... she thought to herself, and it was true and there was an...interesting reason as to why that was.

As she exited the cell she walked beside the guard, on her way seeing a prisoner looking out through the small window on her door.. even seeming slightly fearful... Karie stopped and went up to the window, looking at the girl blankly for a brief moment before going into a warm smile, the guard stopped next to her, not forcing her to move on like generally done to the others, but keeping an over-the-top close watch "hi there..." Kare said, trying to comfort the girl as best she could... a lot of the 'inmates' weren't happy in this place..even scared and that included herself but.. she'd always tried to stay optimistic despite the situation, her wings flapping gently as her jacket and baggy shirt covered most of the top part of her body, as she rested a hand on her stomach whilst awaiting a response from the girl.

@XxLuluxX

Penny looked cautiously at the guard whom hovered over the stranger that had approached. She gave a small, unsure wave, her rose coloured eyes wide with interest. How on earth was she able to get so close with a guard looking? "H-Hello" She stuttered, in a quiet mumble her eyes glancing away from the harsh stare of authority. Although she seemed kind, an optimistic smile pulling her lips, Penelope had never been good with being social, liking to remain in a library, or simply get on with whatever she had to do. Her trust was given to few, for she was scared it would break. Trust, was a delicate thing. She picked at the hem of her loose cotton shirt and gave another small cough, looking down at her milky white hands. "Y-You should g-go b-before anything h-happens"

@TheHappyPikachu

Karie tilted her head curiously at the girl before sighing, the guard actually took a step back and nodded at her "you have.." he checked his watch "5 minuets." she finished and looked away, Kaire opened the little slid on the door so that you could see more of her and hear clearly, once again normally only allowed to do by the guards "I'm sorry...but, umm...don't be scared?" she said blushing a bit "nothing bad will happen...you see...I have 'special treatment' because..." she trailed off "well, I'm the first subject to survive the, umm..." she un-zipped her jacket a bit to reveal the bump on her stomach "that..." she said before going back to the smile "anyway...." she said wanting to change the subject "my names Karie...what's your?" she asked politely, the guard not reacting to anything being said. @XxLuluXD

For a brief moment Natalia stood in silent awe of the fact that she’d spoken from the confines of her cell for the first time since she was brought to the Lab 7 years ago, and contrary to what she’d been told, absolutely nothing happened.

The girl, Evelynn, confirmed Nat’s thoughts. Nobody had been summoned today. Another voice piped up from somewhere to the left. A female who suggested that the scientists were testing their reaction to change. This seemed logical to Nat. She pressed her face against the cold, metal window frame trying to get a look at whoever had just spoken.

After a couple moments of silence there was a loud bang, which caused Nat to jump and let out a small gasp. She jerked her head in the direction of the noise. She saw a boy looking out from a cell further down the corridor.

He was looking up for a long while, probably at the camera, until he backed away from the door so that all Nat could see of him was the tip of his nose and wisps of loose hair.

Suddenly he yelled, “They’re not here!”

To which Nat instinctively hissed ‘shhhh!’

He didn’t hear her though, and in an instant his nose vanished and she assumed he’d sat down.

As quickly as the first boy had disappeared, another young male face came into view in the cell opposite Nat’s. Her heart leapt and she stared at the boy; desperate to get his attention. She wanted nothing more than to be able to have a face-to-face conversation with someone. He didn’t see Nat, instead he glanced down the hallway and yelled. She was about to say something in reply, but cut herself off when she saw the familiar grey suit of a guard walking down the corridor. Nat wanted to shrink back into her cell away from the guard, but something kept her firmly planted in front of the door.

Andre automatically flattened himself against the wall next to the door as soon as the guard came into view. There was a girl with him. He was most likely escorting her to the bathroom, but the fact that there was only one guard alarmed Andre. Who was this girl? Either she was weak and only needed one guard as restraint, or she was happily working with the scientists. If it was the latter, Andre wondered what sort of sick, twisted person would be happy to subject themselves to constant torture with no personal gain? This girl didn’t sit right with him. He listened to her as she said hello to the person in the cell next to his. She said she received special treatment for surviving... something? Andre internally scoffed, ‘We’ve all survived more than enough to receive special treatment.’

((OOC: PLEASE READ! Please be mindful of those of us in different timezones. Can we work together to not race ahead of one another? While a lot of you will be awake and ready to roleplay, a few of us will be fast asleep in the wee hours of the morning. And vice versa. Lets try and restrain ourselves, please? This is all I ask of you lovely people.))

"U-Uh P-Penelope" She looked down at the slight bump in her stomach, and shivered with fright at being close to another being. "Are y-you having a b-baby?" She asked quietly, looking slightly curious about the woman's special treatment and apparent 'Predicament'. She felt a little sorry for her too, she didn't look that old. Well, none of them were very old from what she had gathered. Penny didn't understand what made them so special. They had wings, yet that was normal. Wasn't it? "Nice t-to meet you" She nodded, fumbling with her hands nervously. Maybe the woman had seen the outside if she was special. Maybe she knew things she didn't. "D-Do you know w-when we're going h-home?" She asked looking at her with saddened pink orbs.

Karie smiled at the girls name "that's a nice name!" she said cheerfully and laughed awkwardly, a weak smile on her face at the comment about the baby "y-yeah... they wanted..to see if...we could breed so..." she said looking away slightly and blushing "and I'm seventeen by the way..just in case you were wondering..." she said returning to the warm smile, she suddenly stiffened at the words about outside "that..." she glanced around nervously... she had hated her host family but would take it any day over this "we.." she didn't have the heart to tell the girl she didn't know... so the least she could do was give her a bit of comfort, none of her inner thoughts showing up on her face "soon...I think. after they've done enough testing! so...i don't know... another 2 years or so?..." she said, seeming like one of those 'always cheerful' people at the current moment. @XxLuluxX

She cracked a small smile, looking toward her stomach. "Have you got a name yet?" She asked in a slightly louder voice. "For the baby that is" She asked tilting her head with awe. She gave a sudden pixie like grin, "My mother is going to be so excited! I can go back to dancing!" Her stutter disappearing a moment as she thought of the possibilities.

Evelynn sat there in happiness as she listened to their conversations. Never have any of us been so talkative, yet here we are. Socializing like we've known each other forever. In a way, we did. We just don't know each others backgrounds, names, or even faces.

Just when Eve was feeling slightly comfortable, she heard boots clunking slowly down the hall. The boots then stopped at her door, and everything broke into an eerie silence for a moment. She backed away from the door, now frightened of what was going to happen next. When she backed away, she saw the mask of a guard peering through the door. Evelynn's breathing quickened as her heart began racing at the sight of a guard.

The next thing she heard, and saw, was the door, slowly but surely opening. The sound of the large steel door creaking unsettled her, and made her fear what was doing to happen next even more. When the door finally had came open, she saw the guard stand there, waiting until she had moved. It looked to be a male guard, middle aged based on his weight choice. He walked into the cell, grabbed Eve roughly by the arm, and dragged her out to the hallway. Although, he didn't drag her away. Instead, he threw her to the ground. "On your knees." The guard said. Evelynn was terrified of what was going to happen, since this all reminded her of her host father, Peter. Yet, she did what she was told, or else her punishment would be worse.

The guard then quickly pulled out his taser, and zapped her in the middle of her back. Evelynn cried in pain, and fell to the ground, not moving due to the shock of the taser. Her eyes were red, and her cheeks blotted with tears. The guard then openly beat her, where he shocked her, with a police baton. Each beating was for each time that the subjects talked, and for each beating she would cry out, forced to endure the pain for the other experiments. Once it was over, she was thrown back into her cell, hearing the door slam shut and lock behind her.

Eve just laid on the ground, waiting for silence to return. And when it did, she just cried. Repeating to herself quietly, yet loud enough for someone to hear nearby."I'm sorry..." She repeated this over and over, as she laid there on the ground, not moving. Between her tattoos was a bloody mark that showed where she was beaten. It ached and the pain burned like hell as blood dripped slowly from the wound. Her wings appeared out from her back, and covered her small frame, revealing nothing but her hair sprawled out on the cushioned ground. The blood dripped onto the insides of her wings, staining them.

Vera has leaned on the door, listening to the fading conversation. Apparently, nothinng of interest was happening, though she thought she heard someone was pregnet. Lovely. She was about to move back to her previous position until she heard a door not far from hers open. 'Looks like it's punishment time...' Vera thoughts bitterly. As the sound of painful crys and metal on flesh filled the room, everyone hushed immediately. As the door slammed, Vera waited. Wondering if they were going to beat the piss outta everyone who spoke.

As the guard came back, waking down holding his baton at his side. He paused and peered into her cell. Without turning or needing to see who it was, she asked in a nonchalant tone "Hey Jim, how's the wife and kids?" He lifted his hand to the door, apparently wanting to beat her to a pulp for that comment, yet then he muttered something under his breath as he walked away. A slight smile touched th corners of her lips as she caught what he said. He has muttered "They're doing just fine, wife got a new job and kids are excelling in school as always." Glancing behind her she replied "Well that's lovely to hear."

Walking back to her spot, she wrapped herself in her wings. Not to comfort herself, but to block out the surrounding noise. Vera thought about the guard that had responded, 'hmf, glad to know they still can treat us like actual, living beings'

Aero examined her nails carefully. At first they were each a different color, electric green, hot pink, baby blue and even more but after a few disapproving glares, the scientists grabbed her and used some rubbing alcohol to take away the polish, along with some skin . She could still see faint traces of pink and green but the blue had been wiped out completely. Sighing, Aero looked around her room and shrugged. "I'm too bright for this place anyway". It's true, with her bright personality and fire-and-gold eyes, Aero rebelled against all the grays and whites. Plucking at the baggy cream colored pants that hung off her lithe legs, she longed for the colors of the outside world, imaging how beautiful the yellow sun looked against the blue sky. The polish came from a scientist who either felt bad for Aerowen or was tired of her complaints and got some bottles just to shut her up. She hadn't seen that scientist in a while now and we all know what that meant.

Standing up slowly, Aerowen flexed and stretched, cringing at the brutal cracking sounds that came from her bones, and it dawned on her that the scientists haven't came yet.
" Damn, I really wanted to get the flesh on my shoulder burned off and see how fast it would regenerate. Now what am I going to do for entertainment ?". The only things in the cell were Aero, a few feathers and the giant, one size fits all tee shirt crumpled into the corner. Walking stiffly to the window, she pressed her face against it, " What does a lady have to do to get some sprinkles around here ? ". A guard waltzed by, some scrawny little idiot who's parents ironically named him Brutus, came and held his penguin poking stick menacingly.

Aero leaned so her fingers stuck out of the window and grazed Brutus's cheeks, causing him to turn red and flinch. He tried to give a intimidating grunt at her but ended up sounding constipated. Yanking her fingers back in before he came in a clubbed the hell out of her, Aero went back to her corner and examined the paint of her toes.
