Realistic or Modern We'll Get Through This Together

"Well...Maybe someday, I hope to visit South Korea. But it's gonna be a while." Adam was hopeful on visiting his homeland, something that his parents had promised him when he was around eight years old. But now he's have to visit alone, without his Family. The thought of it made him sad, but he outright refused to show it.

(Sorry to write Vinaya out here, but I'm exhausted and I'm going to head to sleep early tonight. And my computer's started making some unsettling high pitched whining noise, which isn't comforting in the least.)

While Vinaya was enjoying the conversation, she also sensed that perhaps she'd spent more than enough time participating. Sometimes the minimal age gap between herself and the others felt like decades, especially when the need to be alone overcame her or the feeling of exclusion. While she definitely related to Adam, whom she assumed wanted to either visit the country where he was born or the country his parents came from, she didn't feel as though she belonged where she was for much longer. Not for the first time, she wondered why she'd joined this expedition in the first place and, also not for the first time, she didn't have any good answers for herself. "I'm going to go take a break and get some air," she said, grabbing her backpack with the walkie talkie in it. "Call if you need me." She didn't feel like going far since she'd already taken a long walk that day so she found a bench close to the apartment and sat down to watch the night grow darker.

Cassie had smiled and nodded when Adam replied, "You never know, it could be very soon." She didn't know if that was true, but what if, right? Cassie looked at Issac surprised and stammered over her next words, "W-well... I don't know, I... I could..." She sighed, "Look we were just saying what if..." She thought for a moment more, "Maybe I could be a philosopher cause I'm just "so" great with words." She joked noting her little stammer. The question did trouble Cassie though. What could she get famous on? The only thing she really had was intelligence and what were the possibilities she make some huge discovery like Einstein, or Edison? Probably even less likely than her chances of becoming a famous actress. Vinaya leaving distracted Cassie momentarily and she waved slightly for a goodbye, then went back to her troubling thoughts.

"You? Cassie? I think you'd become a beautiful movie star, the next big thing, starring in all the movies." He grinned a little, "Yeah, you've probably got the acting chops." He looked at the ceiling, "And I'd be your security guard of course, that way you'd have to take me all over the world, no if ands or buts!"

Cassie couldn't help but laugh and shook her head grinning as she looked at Tommy, "Yeah okay, whatever you say!" She laughed again flattered. "But thanks!" She shook her head once more smiling and looked at Issac, "You hear that? I'll be a movie star! I'll star in all our favorite books turned into movies!" She laughed joking.

"Yes, you shall be in the Maze Hobbit, directed by me and starring you." Issac joked, smiling slightly. He wondered what Tommy was getting at with his comments. For some reason, he felt some strange resentment towards Tommy for that, but he was unsure where it had come from or why. "And it'll earn all the Oscars. Obviously."

Cassie laughed, "I'm starting to like this show business! Issac the director, I'm the actress, Tommy my body guard!" She laughed softly and looked at Tommy, "You could do something else if you want to, I don't know how fun guarding me would be." She laughed then looked at Adam, "Adam you want to join!?" She grinned joking around, feeling at peace.

"You'd be famous, I'd have to protect you from all the fan boys." He smiled and closed his eyes. Almost instantly Tommy was asleep, even though they were in the middle of a conversation the day had tired him out.

Cassie laughed and shook her head from Tommy and then realized he fell asleep and grinned softly, and looked back over at Issac and Adam.

Issac laughed, "We shall all become famous with out amazing talent!" He heard Tommy's comment, and after he fell asleep, he chuckled, asking, "Maybe he's a fanboy?"

Xavier listened to the rest of them talk about movies, traveling and other things. He himself had been across the country several times over, but didn't want to burst any of their bubbles. "What would I do in the movie thing?" He asked, curiosity getting the better of him. Of course he'd seen movies on TV and the likes, but he'd never been to a movie theater so even the idea of helping to make one was exciting.

Instead of participating, Aspen decided listening intently to everyone else's conversation would be more interesting because he didn't exactly pay much attention to sports, especially football. He had watched a soccer world cup once, but that was about the extent of things. He hadn't even chosen a favourite team. But when the conversation switched to making a movie Aspen asked curiously, "What about me? I'd like to be apart of this movie you guys are making." He laughed a little at the idea, but it was fun to think about, and he was glad everyone got along so well.

Adam seemed to have no interest in the Entertainment Industry. "Nah. Not really for Acting, Singing or whatever. I wanna be like my Dad." The only thing Adam wanted to be was a Cop, like his Father before him.

Cassie laughed from Issac's first comment then thought about the second. What's that supposed to mean...? He's not inferring that Tommy... No... No, he couldn't, and he wouldn't. I mean, why would he like me? She sighed figuring she was over thinking it and looked at Issac, "How would he be a fan boy?" She laughed softly. Then she looked at Aspen and Xavier, "What do you guys want to be!?" She grinned, then looked at Adam, "Aw, your loss. You'll have to be in at least one movie! Please!?" She grinned, and glanced back at Issac, waiting for that answer too.

Issac looked at her, giving her an "Are you serious" face, "Really? I mean.... it's sorta obvious he likes you." Issac said, his face a little red, as he realized he felt the same way he did about her. "Can you not tell?" Issac asked, an eyebrow raised skeptically. But does she like him back? Or does she like me? Or anyone at all? I mean, I don't think she'd have much reason to like me anyways, I'm me for crying out loud. I have plenty of reason to like her, I mean, she's so smart, and so funny, and kind, and beautiful, and I am none of those things. I'm not good enough for someone as amazing as her. Atleast Tommy plays American Football, that's something girls like, probably.

What would he want to be? Aspen had never given it much thought, any at all really. He had no ideas what he wanted to do with his life, he hadn't though much farther ahead than their escape. He still had a lot of time to decide, right? Intrigued, he tried to imagine different scenarios, but couldn't come up with anything he liked. Issan's comment about Tommy distracted him however. The thought that Tommy like Cassie had never occurred to him, but now that he thought about it, it made a lot of sense and explained many things. "Actually... I think Issac's right. It makes a lot of sense." He felt bad for Tommy though, knowing that something like this could go badly if not done carefully, plus he was asleep at the moment and had no say in the matter.

Cassie's eyes widened from Issac's comment and Aspen's agreement to it. She looked over at Tommy sleeping and she was rendered speechless. She had been completely oblivious. Again she thought that this was why she didn't socialize much with others, because she was clueless to social hints. She just didn't notice these things. The thought of dating frightened her again and she bit her lip. "But why?" She asked not exactly talking to anyone in particular. "Why me...?" She thought that he thought of her as a "young puppy" because she was two years younger. That thought irritated her and she frowned.

Xavier blinked, then smiled a little. "You couldn't tell? Tommy has a kinda thing for you Cassidy," he said, though not in a way to be mean. "He's already a fanboy of yours." Smiling again, he stood up and went over to his stuff. He slipped on a dark jacket and put his walkie talkie in his pocket. "I'm gonna head out for a bit, if that's ok," he said, already making his way towards the door. Right before he was completely gone, Xavier looked back over his shoulder at the group. "Oh, and Cassidy, it's just because you're you." With one last smile, Xavier slipped out of sight and the apartment building, finding his way to the streets to mingle with the cities night owls.

Issac noticed he had made her uncomfortable, and he inwardly sighed. "I'm sorry, but you were going to find out sooner or later." He said, attempting to comfort her. He was going to tell her that he liked her too, but he realized now might not be the best of moments. Honestly though, he was surprised she didn't notice that Tommy liked her. I mean, the way he'd get all awkward and red around her, and the way he was complementing her earlier. He felt a little excited that she seemed to dislike the idea of Tommy liking her, but he didn't show it.

Cassie had smiled from what Xavier said, feeling flattered. She couldn't come up with words at the moment and he already left before she could find her voice to say probably something like a thank you and be careful. She knew she must have been blushing softly, because her cheeks had heated up. She wasn't used to this kind of attention, and didn't know how to react about it. She glanced at the others in the room. She looked at Issac, "No, you don't have to be sorry. I'm just... Surprised. And flattered too I guess. Yeah, guys, I'm really oblivious to this sort of thing. I honestly did not know really." She thought back to what Tommy said in the grocery store, and how she guessed for a moment, but then shrugged it off entirely. She had known... For a second. Great job self... She thought to herself sarcastically.

Aspen laughed. "Don't worry. Not very many of us figure it out on our own." He vaguely gestured towards Nicolette, remembering her confession, and how he had no idea until she had said something. "Usually, someone comes and says it outright and then we finally figure it out." He paused, still feeling bad for freaking out and running away, although he new he had at least somewhat fixed things between them, even if it wasn't quite the same as before. "Be careful though," he advised. "Things like that, well... they're easy to mess up. Usually you have to be really, really careful. But I think Tommy is pretty cool, you should be okay." He smiled at her reassuringly.

Cassie smiled at Aspen, "Thanks Aspen. I don't even know how to react to this, much less what I'm going to say to him when he wakes..." She bit her lip thinking then glanced at Nico and at Aspen, wondering if they were alright. She didn't want to ruin the easygoing friendship she had made with Tommy by bringing this up, so she wondered if she even should. Maybe she should wait for him to bring something up so she could have time to think about how she feels, "Look guys, I want pretend like you guys didn't tell me this so I can... You know... Process it, or something. I want to wait for him to say something himself. If he even will. So... Can we pretend this conversation didn't happen? For now at least." She worried for a second that Tommy was actually awake and could hear ever word being said but with one glace at Tommy she knew for sure he was sound asleep. Cassie looked at the others.

Nicolette sat in silence, listening to the topics being discussed. She eventually moved her journal under her makeshift pillow and laid down. She hadn't taken off her pajamas all day and didn't feel like doing it now. She reached up, feeling the necklace, and smiled slightly before deciding not to take it off. She didn't care if it seemed weird. It was the most sentimental item she had left, besides her guitar.

"Of course, if that's what you want. It can be our little secret." Aspen winked at Cassie, then laughed. "What he doesn't know won't hurt him." Although... Maybe in this case it will... The thought crossed his mind for a moment before he pushed it away, into the dark recesses of his mind.. Nah, he'll be fine, he decided. Tommy could probably handle it. He was after all, one of the oldest.

Cassie grinned, "Thank you." She took a deep breath then went over to her stuff and finally unrolled the sleeping bag they had gotten earlier and grabbed The Hobbit and glanced at Issac smiling. "I think I'm going to read this now... But first..." She smiled more and grabbed her pjs and went to the bathroom to change. Then she came back out and settled down on her sleeping bag and opened the book to the first page and started to read.
