Realistic or Modern Weight of the World

Max sighed heavily and went back to reading her book trying her best not to oay attention to him but god was it hard. She wanted so desperately to be in his arms at that moment in time. She was supposed to have picked him up today, they should've been in bed making up for lost time, but instead here she was just watching him.

JD rushed out with him and ran to the front watching Danny get the details. He listened as he told him and shook his head some "I have to get in there...I have to save her!" He said frantically starting to loose it as he thought of loosing her.

Geoff shook his head and pointed the gun towards Carmen "No! No they won't stop! You said you would make them stop and now they made me hurt her! You have to go! If you go then so will they!" He yelled

She shook her head, stepping closer carefully "Geoff what happened to your medication? You told me last week that it was working... Has it stopped? Hey.. Hey look at me, it's gonna be okay, we can fix this. Please can we get Lucy out of here? Let her go downstairs and get help for her shoulder?" She asked him gently "Then you and me can sit down and find you a solution... If you can't afford the medication I can help with that, it's gonna be okay." She kept coaxing him but flinched when he let off another shot, her ears ringing but it had missed her and gone into the wall behind them all, "Geoff, put the gun down, I don't want them to hurt you." She told him gently, about to step closer again but she saw the red spots on his shirt and she barely had time to duck before another shot rang out with glass breaking at the window and Geoff dropped to the ground in front of her, dead.

Danny shook his head "Door's locked, we're trying the phones but no answer yet, she's gonna need you calm once we get them out of there so I suggest you just wait back and let me do my part of the job." He told him seriously, looking up when they heard a gun shot and went back to the front to keep in contact with the sniper they had posted on the opposite building, waiting til they could confirm that he had a clear shot and told him to take it, getting confirmation that the suspect was down and the front door opened a few minutes later with Carmen and Julie both helping their receptionist out of the building to get her to the medics.

Jon was smirking to himself the more he noticed her watching him "If you take a photo it'll last longer." He muttered, standing up straighter when he heard the door open and watched Danny come out of the room, pause at seeing Jon before going to take Max back to their home. Jon on the other hand walked into Frank's office and grinned. While inside he'd been key to negotiating a lot of Frank's deals with other mob's inmates. "Thanks for sending the car." He told him, going to sit in front of the desk and put his sunglasses in his shirt pocket "I'm gonna be spending a day or so with my son this weekend but aside from that... what jobs do you want me on?" He asked him.

JD took a deep breath but gave a nod to Danny before he stepped back. He went wide eyed when he heard the shots thinking the worst had happened. Though when he saw Carmen come out he quickly ran to her once she was across the police line "Carmen!" He said panicked before he hugged her tight to him in a protective way.

Frank looked over at Jon as he walked in and smiled wide. He had become a crutial part to his operation while on the inside and aside from his son he had also become his favorite "Take the weekend to see your son, on Monday I want you started on Maxine's watch duty. Someone has recently put a hit out on her. I know your relationship is not ideal, but you're the only one I trust to watch her properly."

Carmen frowned getting Lucy down to the medics and let them take her before she heard a familiar voice, looking up in surprise to see JD there and in her state of shock she just stood there, still splattered with blood, and let him hold her, not moving for a minute until she started laughing and just looked up at him, starting to shake some, still laughing and leaning on him now.

Jon frowned and just watched him to make sure he was serious before nodding. “Alright... I know I can be professional... can Danny stay professional?” He questioned him. “Cause he’s gonna be the only problem with all of it.” He pointed out. “I doubt he’s gonna like me being around her that much.”

JD frowned softly but kept her close to him sighing heavily "Its gonna be okay." He said quietly getting a wet rag to wipe off the blood before getting her a new shirt "Here come to the car and change " he murmured softly

Frank frowned some and shook his head "Don't worry about Murrillo, he knows to behave. You let me know if he doesnt though." He muttered sighing heavily.

She just let him guide her around, going quiet now and still shaking badly, “I want to go home.” She told him quietly looking up at him and just looking scared. “Please.”

danny was finally able to make his way back to the cruiser and looked down at carmen. “I just need a quick statement but then you can take her home. Take the cruiser, I’ll get a lift back to the station and I’ll drive your car over to you, pick up mine.” He told them both, frowning when he barely managed to get three sentences out of carmen for her statements but he nodded some and left them to it, giving JD the keys totake her home.

Jon nodded and thanked him getting up to go see Sarah and Jack. The weekend went by far too quickly with Jack just starting to trust him by the end of it and he woke up early Monday morning, heading out to go to Danny’s place and pick up max for her appointments, smirking when Danny opened the door. “Franks assigned me to her protection detail.” He told him. “Guess your guys weren’t doing a good enough job.” He muttered, brushing past him and going to find max in the kitchen. “Morning... where do you need to go today?” He asked her.

JD gave a nod and quickly took Carmen home so she could get away from that place. He gave a heavy sigh and took her inside quickly locking all the doors and closing the curtains "Come on babe....lets get you a bath drawn." He murmured

Max looked over at the kitchen doorway when she heard footsteps and went wide eyed when she acrually saw Jon there. She didn't think her father would have actually put him on her detail. A few months ago they had received a strange package in the mail, it was full of photos of Max going aroumd everywhere and a threatening letter. She sighed heavily and sipped her coffee watching him "I have to do some grocery shoppimg."

She frowned following him up to their bathroom, sitting on the floor and bringing her knees to her chest, just staring at the floor until she felt his arm go around her shoulders "He uh... I think he stopped taking his meds... I don't know why.... But they got... They got him in the head... His eyes were still open Jorge." She whimpered, leaning into him more and gripped at his hand "Did... Did the bust ... go well?" She asked him quietly.

Jon smiled some and nodded "Alright... I looked over the details... Lord knows who sent that shit but just promise me you'll listen to me if I have to make a decision to keep you safe?" He asked her. "I promised your father I'd be professional about this," He told her, leaning against the doorway to wait for her to be ready.

Max gave a small nod and sighed softly "Yeah not a problem." She murmured before she got up and put her cup in the sink. She grabbed her purse and made her way towards him "Lets go..Daniel I'll be back, if you need me call." She murmured but frowned as he pulled her into him and forced a kiss onto her lips

JD made his way into the restroom when he didn't hear the bath going and gave a small sigh when he saw her. He pulled her close as he sat next to her and gave a small nod kissing the top of her head. He knew the feeling she had, it was the same one he had when he saw his partner die infront of him. He gave a small sigh and shrugged some "It went good...they say its one of the biggest ones the precinct has ever seen."

She frowned and just held onto him tightly, "That's good... Do you get your few days off now?" She asked him, not wanting to be by herself at the minute. "I know we were gonna go out tonight... So I haven't done groceries, the pizza menu is on the kitchen table though." She told him quietly. "I'm not very hungry." She frowned and just still held onto him tightly, burying her face into his shoulder.

He frowned as he looked away awkwardly but took her in his car once they were out of the house. "I'm surprised he even pays attention to you now. He never usedto." He muttered some, more to himself. "What store are we going to?"

Max frowned some at his comment as she made her way out and gave a nod "He pays a lot my attention to me now..." she mumbled before she got in the car. It wan't nessarily good attention but right now he didn't need to know that.

JD gave a nod and kissed the top of her head "Don't worry about that okay? We'll do whatever you want tonight." He murmured rocking her gently and letting them both sit in silence for the time being.

She frowned but nodded. “I’m glad you’re home.” She told him quietly. “I missed you.” She stayed in the floor with him for a while until she was getting tired, getting up carefully and heading to bed with him, stripping to her underwear and one of his T-shirt’s, laying down and curling in close to him.

He frowned some and nodded just driving her to the store and followed her around. “So... when’s the wedding?” He asked her just so there wasn’t awkward silence. He’d always prefer awkward conversations. He still didn’t understand why she’s betrayed him like that though and he was still hurting over it.

Max frowned softly as she started to shop with him once they arrived and gave a heavy sigh "Its in 2 months..." she murmured sighing some "How is your son?" She asked quietly

JD went to lay with her and gave a small smile when he saw her in his shirt. He layed with her and kissed her forehead gently "I missed you too beautiful, so very much." He whispered

He sighed some and looked over at her. “He didn’t remember me. Spent most of the weekend scared of me.” He muttered coldly. Still hugely bitter that he’d done this for her and so far all he’d done is suffer for it.

she nodded and curled in close smiling a little at him but it didn’tquite reach her eyes. “You don’t have any clean T-shirt’s.... they’re all in the laundry. I’ve been wearing them.” She told him kissing under his chin, nestling her face into his chest. “I love you.” She murmured starting to fall asleep now the adrenaline was all wearing off.

Max frowned more and sighed heavily "I'm sorry Jon...I...I'm sorry." She murmured to him. She so desperately wanted to tell him how Danny was basically holding her against her will to be with him but she knew everyome would be hurt if she did.

JD chuckled some kissing the top of her head "Good to know." He murmured before he let her fall asleep there.

She woke up early in the morning to the smell of bacon, wandering downstairs quietly to find JD with the dogs in the kitchen and making breakfast. “You burning the house down?” She asked him quietly, going to sit down at the breakfast bar, watching Jojo standing to attention and waiting for his dad to throw him a scrap of food.

he just shrugged. “Sarah didn’t exactly talk to him about me.” He muttered “but what’s losing a few years with your son?” He muttered, heading down the aisles with her in silence after that.

JD chuckled softly and shook his head "No, I'm not thank you." He said happily before he snuck Jojo a small piece of bacon hoping she didn't see it.

Max frowned and continued shopping with him. Once they were done she frowned seeing another man walk out of the store. She had seen him quite a few times and it was making her concerned "Jon....that guy has been watching us since we got in there." She whispered

He frowned nodding some. “I know, I’ve been watching him. Get in the car and stay down alright.” He told her getting the bags in his trunk and keeping an eye on him so he didn’t raise suspicion just in case he was just some random guy, shoving the cart away and got in the truck, taking off with her. “I don’t think he was anyone.” He told her. “Let’s get these back to your place. You got anymore errands to run today?” He asked her.

she smiled kissing his cheek and got the orange juice out. “Id you say so... I have a call with my boss in half an hour But Julie said that he’s given her a week off so I should be getting that as well... you wanna go down to the coast? Get away for a couple days? Or would you rather behome?” She asked him seeing as he’d been stuck away from home for so long. They’d moved in together about nine months into their relationship and stayed with her house, making it a home for the two of them and she hoped one day their first child as well.

Max gave a small nod and sighed softly "Alright, no, I did want to look at the shelter though. I've gotten Danny worn down to let me get a dog." She murmured as she got into the car

JD gave a small laugh and nodded some "Well I'd like to stay home, but if you need to get out of here we can." He said as he turned off the stove and made her a plate of food.

He nodded and took her home taking a longer strange route and helped her get the food inside, switchong the plates on his truck like Frank had shown him when he was still undercover. "We can do that." He told her and watched her put her food away sighing quietly before going back to the truck with her, taking her to the shelter to look at the dogs.

She nodded "Then let's stay home." She mumbled, rubbing at her face and thanked him quietly, sitting with the plate of food at their breakfast bar, resting her head on his shoulder "Mmm... You're getting better at cooking bacon." She teased, pecking his cheek, just seeming completely deflated and not at all like herself right now, enough so that when the mail came through the door she jumped out of her skin at the noise, getting up quickly to go get it before the dogs chewed it up.

Max gave a nod and got the food inside and put away quickly trying to get out of there before Danny got back. As they got to the shelter she went straight in and looked around at all the dogs. As she got through to the last one she smiled wide seeing the Black Sherpard dog jumping at the glass at her "Oh this one, yes he is the one."

JD frowned some as she jumped but continued to eat "Babe talk to me....don't hold it in okay? You don't have to right this minute but please don't shut me out okay?"

She frowned looking over at him "And say what? I watched someone I've been looking after as a patient get shot in front of me? Someone who was also trying to shoot at me? He ran out of money and couldn't afford his medication anymore... I couldn't help him." She whimpered, shaking a little and leaned back against the front door, sliding down to sit on the mat, burying her face into her hands.

Jon stayed quiet the whole time and once she found the one she liked he nodded some, taking out his wallet and sorting out all the papers and things once they made sure he was the one she wanted, handing them a wad of cash to just get everything over with faster and once they were back to the truck he let the dog sit up in the cab with them rather than putting it in the back.

Max got in the car and pulled out her wallet handing the money back Jon while she got Dex sorted "I could have paid for him, take it." She murmured smiling when she noticed Dex lay his head in Jon's lap "Look likes he likes you."

JD went over to her and kneeled infront of her giving a nod "I know baby....its...its not fun to see that image play in your head over and over again." He said quietly letting a tear fall when he saw the pain, saddness, and scared look in her eyes "Maybe we could look into how to help so that something like this doesn't happen again to someone?" He said trying to help her as much as he could

She frowned some and just wrapped her arms around him tightly "I thought I wasn't going to see you again." She mumbled, still shaking, burying her face into his shoulder and holding him tightly. "I don't get shaken. I know how to handle myself and I know how to keep safe and I don't like feeling this vulnerable." She told him starting to shake again a little.

He shook his head "That's all from your father, not my cash. Told me to carry it for anything like that." He assured her. "Write it off as expenses." He chuckled, placing his free hand on the dog's head, rubbing gently, "Dogs know who likes them and who doesn't." He smiled at her some, taking her home as it was getting to be mid afternoon.

JD held her close to him and gave a heavy sigh kissing the top of her head gently "Its okay babe, I know you hate this but I will never look at you any differently." He said quietly keeping her close to him "You are the strongest woman I have ever met, there are always times that we have to show our vulnerability." He said quietly to her.

Max gave a small nod and smiled happily as they got inside with Dex sighing happily "Thank you for taking me where I needed to go." She said softly watching him a bit "Well um...you can stay if you want but if you would rather not you can go. I don't need to go anywhere else today."
