Max frowned when she heard a yell of a woman. She looked up and shook her head some "Its not like that....look if you could sit down I can explain everything." She said calmly not wanting to cause a scene at this point in time.

JD chuckled softly and gave a small nod "I know, my stomach is yelling at me for eating that last slice." He murmured before he eventually got up "Alright come on, lets get to bed."

She glared at her and shook her head. “I don’t wanna hear from you and I don’t want you in his room! I want you people to leave him alone!” She snapped at her.

she frowned and reached up to him “Carry me?” She pouted up at him grinning when he lifted her up. “I love you.” She giggled kissing his cheek and wrapping her arms around his neck. “Hey guess what? ... we’re gonna get married.” She giggled.

Max glared at her and finally stood up "You think I haven't fucking tried to get him to leave?! He went to prison for me, so that we could be together. I told him to forget us to get out and be with his son! I want him out of here!" She yelled

JD picked her up and chuckled softly holding her close to him "I love you too beautiful and yes yes we are." He said happily before he layed her on their bed kissing her lovingly

She smiled cupping his face and kissed him softly. “Mmm... if you don’t get off me I might be sick.” She told him. “Morning appointment for this?” She asked him, kissing his cheek and snuggling in close to his side.

She glared at her and got up quickly when she heard the doctor come in to talk to them about Jon. ‘He can have two people in at a time, I recommend you all get some time if you need to. He has about a 5% chance of surviving the next 24 hours.’ He told them all and asked for the first two people to go see him.

Max took a deep breath and let a few tears fall when she heard his chance. She quickly got up to go in taking his hand in hers letting world fall away from the two of them.

JD chuckled and rolled off of her kissing her cheek gently "Yeah first thing tomorrow morning." He murmured kissing the top of her heard repeatedly

Jon was in and out of consciousness the whole time but even when he was awake he couldn’t move or talk, just feeling stuck in his own head, barely managing to even curl his fingers around anyone else’s when prompted to and the first time he felt any comfort was hearing Max’s voice come in the room, feeling her hand in his and just about managing to stare at her while the machines breathed mostly for him.

“Mmm, I’ll put it in my calendar.” She smiled tiredly, curling in closer and turned off the lights letting herself drift off to sleep snuggled in close to him, using him for warmth.

Max let a few tears fall holding his hand tight in hers "Jon....hey...I'm here...I'm not going anywhere I promise." She said softly taking a deep breath before wiping her eyes quickly "I'm here, I'm not leaving again."

JD smiled softly and held her close to him before he started to drift off as well with her

Carmen woke up in a cold sweat more than twice through the night so by the morning she was quiet and withdrawn again, heading downstairs and getting the coffee started, letting the dogs out and waiting by the door while they did their business in their tiny back patio but she jumped out of her skin when she felt JD's arms around her, shoving away quickly until she noticed it was her fiancé and she sighed heavily "Sorry." She mumbled, pecking his cheek and heading back inside with the dogs to finish coffee.

He groaned a little as he watched her trying his best to move his hands, making a writing motion but his fingers were barely twitching and he couldn't do it, passing out again while his nurse came to check on him again 'He can understand you, he just won't have the energy to move at all, we're keeping him sedated to help him heal and give him the best chance possible.' She told the two women in there.

JD woke up the next morning and made his way downstairs to Carmen wrapping his arms around her. He frowned as she pushed him away and sighed softly "Babe? You okay?" He asked quietly

Max nodded some and thanked the doctor looking at Sarah and sighing heavily "I...I'm sorry." She said quietly beforr she turned her attention back to Jon.

She glared over at her and shook her head "He told me everything. Why he did what he did... It was to prove that he was loyal enough to be with you... Then you left him right as he was doing hard time for you... He gave up years with his son to be with you...And you betrayed him. You shouldn't be here." She told her seriously and gentl rubbed Jon's arm just watching him.

Carmen shook her head "Bad dreams, I'm fine. I'm gonna go start packing a bag." She told him, kissing his cheek and headed up to their room to start putting things in a suitcase, thinking about a hundred and one things at the same time. "Danny's gonna watch the dogs for us." She told him quietly when he followed her upstairs

Max shook her head some and gave a heavy sigh "I only left him because the man I was meant to be with threatened not only his life but your son's." She explained shaking her head some "He is insane and I couldn't risk him hurting Jon or your son." She said truthfully to her

JD gave a heavy sigh but nodded softly at her "Sounds like a plan." He murmured before he followed her up to pack his own bag "Babe...if these bad dreams keep up for an extended period of time I want you to see someone about them okay? I want to make sure you're okay." He explained pullinh her close and sighing heavily

Carmen frowned some before she just laughed without humor "For an extended period of time huh? Try twenty years... They just haven't been as common recently... Until now obviously." She muttered shaking her head "You remember how my brother reacted when you told him that you're a cop?" She asked him, putting her toileries bag in there plus some extra shoes.

Sarah went to argue with her but an alarm went off indicating that Jon was already experiencing complications and he was starting to worsen, his teperature rising as infection was already trying to take hold and the next time he came to he was in agony, looking over at Max desperatley, groaning in pain and just wanting the pain to stop.

Max quickly pressed the call button and stepped out of the way once the nurses came in. She kept her eyes on him and took deep breaths "Its gonna be okay Jon, they're going to help you."

JD frowned some as she laughed and sighed heavily "Yeah I remember."he muttered not sure what she was getting at with this. He knew little of her past still but he knew it was also a sore subject due to past encounters with the subject and he never tried to pry with her just like she had never tried to pry with him.

She sat down on the edge of the bed, sipping up her suitcase and set it it on the floor before laying back and watching him. “My family has not always had good experience with them. Some of it is on them but most of it is because they assume criminal activity without evidence.... and when I was a teenager, fourteen to be exact.” She paused and just took a deep breath. “I was assaulted by a friend of my brothers... he’s even given the guy permission to do it.” She muttered. “When we told the police after all of it, they had to take pictures as evidence and then they questioned me for two hours on whether I was making it up and trying to convince me that I was the one who was confused... two hours of that at fourteen. I’ve never liked cops in general, I only take the precinct cases because it’s the extra money that helps me be more comfortable... but I’ve had nightmares for years and years and everything from the other day is just bringing it all back again.” She told him.

He groaned again as his eyes rolled back and he started seizing. The nurses moved max and Sarah out of there quickly, closing the blinds to the room and shutting the door once the doctor arrived, only leaving to pull a crash cart in and they could catch a glimpse of them trying to restart his heart. Sarah was the one who walked away after that, leaving to go pick up Jack and bring him down so that just in case he would have a chance to say goodbye to his father.

JD frowned more and took a deep breath as he listened to her. He sat next to her and pulled her close to him "I know a sorry will not suffice and piss you off more, but if you need anything...to vent, to listen, to yell at. I'm here." He murmured

Max whimpered quietly staying there the entire time watching as they tried to get his heart started. She whimpered more as she could no longer see and sat down trying to stay calm

She frowned and just wrapped her arms around him, pressing her face into his chest. “Thank you.” She mumbled kissing under his chin and gently nudged him to get up. “You finish packing I’m just gonna watch you.” She smiled tiredly wanting to get off the difficult subjects.

it was another hour before they were allowed back in and she was left to privacy with him for the time beinf. “If you talk to him he can probably hear you.” His nurse told her before leaving them to it.

JD gave a small nod and gave her a quick kiss before he started to pack up his things sighing softly. He finished up quickly before he went over to her and pulled her into him "I love you gorgeous."

Max rushed in and held his hand letting a few tears fall as she looked at him "Jon...if you can hear me....I just want you to know that I love you. I always have. I never wanted to leave you but Danny...he threatened you and your son...I couldn't risk that." She said softly before she kissed his hand gently "I love you so much Jon."

Jon ended up being comatose for a week but he was still clinging on and the more that Max was there,the more that Sarah went, not trusting her alone with him but after the week was up and on a day Sarah had taken Jack out to the park he was starting to wake up again, squeezing whatever was in his hand and eventually opening his eyes, looking around him confused a little bit until his eyes landed on Max and he groaned a little to catch her attention, no longer feeling a tube down his throat but he didn't have the energy to talk.

Carmen smiled, resting her head on his shoulder and smiled tiredly "I love you too." She murmured. She dropped the dogs off with Danny at the end of the day before going home and getting an early night with JD, having to get up super early the next morning while they caught a cab to the airport and she stayed close to him until they were waiting by the gate for their flight "Looks like it's gonna be pretty empty so we might be able to spread out some... You doing okay?" She asked him, "Your sister knows that I'm coming right? Or... she does know about me doesn't she?" She asked him slowly

JD gave a small frown as they stood at the airport waiting to board the plane half paying attention to Carmen at the moment his head elsewhere. He snapped out of it when she snapped her fingers infront of him "Huh? Oh um...yeah she knows of you, I just...I don't talk to her much." He explained sighing some

Max stayed by his side everyday while he was under refusing to leave him for any extended periods of time. She turned her attention away from the TV once she felt her hand squeezed "Jon?" She asked softly gasping some as he looked over at him "Oh god Jon, you had me scared to death!" She said before quickly pushing the call button giving his hand a squeeze

Carmen nodded and frowned. “I’m gonna grab a soda real quick.” She murmured pecking his cheek and headed to the vending machine taking a couple drinks back to their seats right as they were called for boarding. “I brought some sleeping tablets, you sure you don’t want to take any so you can get some rest on the flight?” She asked him quietly, rubbing his arm once they got through to the gangway, holding her nose a little.

he groaned again trying to move to sit up, grabbing at her hand more the more he woke up until his nurse came in to get him settled and check him over. “Danny.” He grunted. “Man.” He tried to get out to her. “Parked.” He couldn’t keep it up though and he just lay back letting them look him over and give him some extra painkillers, watching max the whole time.

JD frowned softly and gave a nod "Yeah I guess it would be best...this is going to be a long trip." He murmured frowning as she held her nose "You okay?" He asked pulling her close to him as they walked

Max shook her head some and continued to squeeze his hand in reassurance "Shhh Jon don't stress yourself okay? Its okay." She said quietly kissing his hand gently as the nurses left them "I was so scared Jon....I love you so much."

She nodded and frowned. “I hate the smell down this bit. Makes me sick. Airplane fuel is gross.” She muttered, squeezing his hand and followed him to their seats, getting settled in as quick as possible and smiled at him some, “where do you want to get married?” She asked looking down at her ring, making a mental note to cal her family and tell them when they got to LA.

he frowned shaking his head and tugged on her hand. “No... Danny... man... gun.” He managed to get out to her. “Frank.... I need... Frank.” He muttered, laying back again and starting to pass out again using too much energy.

JD gave a nod and smiled happily when she mentioned the wedding "Well depends, what kind of wedding do you want? You want a big wedding? Or a smaller one?" He asked as they sat down.

Max frowned softly and gave a small nod "Okay, just relax okay? I'll make sure to get him here." She said quietly before she called her father stepping out of the room to make the call.

She smiled watching him. “I don’t think we’re gonna get away with a small one. Not with my family.” She pointed out. “Say... 50 people?” She asked him.

Jon just letsleep take him, waking up hours later again and looked over seeing frank there with max this time, trying to wet his lips to talk, thanking max when she got him some water. “Danny... his man... was the one... who shot.” He mumbled, taking a minute then continued. “Parked outside ... bridal shop... we came out... he shot” he managed to get out. “Danny’s hit.”

JD chuckled some and gave a small smile "Well I can tell you it would probably just be my sister tbere. So I want you to pick everything you want okay? I'll be here for any input but whatever you want I'm here." He said happily to her before he kissed the side of her head gently

Max frowned softly as he came to again and quickly helped him drink some water when he tried to speak. She went wide eyed and looked at her father who had an enraged face "You're sure?" She said softly taking a deep breath as he nodded
