Carmen nodded and got the boys dressed for the day after that, getting the buggy all put together and left the kids downstairs for a minute, leaving Angel watching Javi while he napped in his rocker, heading up to check on JD, seeing him coming out of the bathroom in just a towel, feeling like drooling a little "God you look as good as the day I met you." she smiled, "You okay? I hate going to bed angry and I'm sorry, it was a silly comment.. I don't wanna argue." She told him.

She nodded and went to sit on the couch with Dex, cuddling him close. "Mommy... Who's that?" She asked, seeing Jon's laptop open in front of her with a picture of Jon and Jack together a few weeks before he'd been killed.

JD looked over at her and gave a small grin before he grabbed his boxers "I'm sorry too...I just...I got too much in my head. Let my pride get the better of me." He murmured pulling his boxers on before he moved to kiss her gently

Max frowned softly as she looked at the photo sighing heavily "That....thats your older brother Lily. He was your daddy's son, he had a different Mommy from before I met your daddy." She explained kissing the side of her head "He passed away though before you were born."

She smiled some and stood up, slipping her arms around him tightly "Mmm... get dressed, the boys are ready to go." She murmured kissing him quickly then headed down there, getting Javi in the buggy with his rag before getting Angel's shoes on plus hers, waiting til JD came down and they headed out, "Angel what do you wanna see the most?" She asked him while he held onto his Dad until Jorge finally lifted him to sit on his shoulders.

Lilly frowned and just held onto her mom "Oh... But did Daddy love him?" She asked frowning some "Cause he love him but not me?" She asked her, pouting still and just held onto her mom to try and stay calm but failing miserabnle when she started crying again

Max sighed heavily and rocked her some "He loves you baby, its just....when he passed away it really hurt daddy and he is still trying to handle it." She explained getting up when there was a knock at the door for the food.

JD smiled happily as they walked through the front gates 'I want to see the lions!! They big and strong like daddy!' He said happily pretending to show his muscles. JD laughed happily at his son and smiled as Javi squealed almost overwhelmed with all the sites to see

Carmen smiled and nodded, picking up a couple maps for them and stood by the benches, passing one to JD and keeping one in her pocket. “Alright. Big cat house first then yeah? Sometimes if you’re super lucky Angel they all start roaring at the same time.” She smiled, taking JDs free hand while they took the buggy up the slope to get inside.

Lily nodded and frowned eating dinner with her and went to bed after completely worn out from the day and going straight to sleep with Dex snuggled close.

JD smiled happily and walked with them. Their day had been going great and by the time they were ready to go Javi and Angel were both asleep. He looked over at Carmen and leant over kissing her lovingly "Mmm I love you wifey." He teased as they walked to the car

Max woke up the next morning curled up close to Jon. Even though she wasn't fully happy with him right now she had missed him dearly. She woke up slowly and gave a soft smile seeing him already awake but as their eyes met she did her best to not frown. His eyes were cold, almost lifeness, definitely not the way she remembered them "Good morning." She said softly

She smiled some walking to get a taxi with him as they were both too tired to walk home. “Mmm love you too.” She told him quietly and pecked his cheek, leaning against him while they waited. “You wanna do some burgers and salad for dinner?” She asked him quietly, trying to stay awake herself while they stood there. “The boys are going to my brothers tomorrow remember? Then I’ve got an appointment... you gonna go with me?”

He grunted in response and held his head some until he got up to go take a shower when he heard lily coming in. Not in the mood to deal with any of it right now.

JD gave a nod and smiled some helping her get in the cab "Yeah just give me the time I'll make sure to take off for a long lunch." He said softly while he held Angel close to him

Max smiled happily when she saw Lily climb into the bed "Hey sweetheart, did you sleep good?" She asked glancing at Jon as he came out of the restroom

She nodded and yawned some taking Angel so he could sort the buggy and eventually they got home so she took both the boys in and got Angel set up in his room for a nap with Javi in theirs and she made her way down to JD again on the couch, laying with him and yawning. “I reckon we got half an hour before they’re awake.” She smiled yawning some. “Are you happy?” She asked him

Lily nodded and yawned holding onto her mom tightly, watching her dad get some jeans and a shirt on before he walked out of there without a word. “Can I go see grandad today?” She asked not wanting to be around her dad.

Max frowned softly but gave a small nod "I'm sure you can. I'll call and ask him okay?" She murmured "Go get ready for the day okay? I'll make us some breakfast." She said softly watching her run off before she went over to Jon wrapping her arms around him from behind "How did you sleep?" She asked while placing soft kisses to his bare back

JD held her close to him and smiled giving a nod "I sure am, are you?" He asked softly before he gave a huge yawn

She smiled tiredly and nodded. “Oh don’t you start yawning.” She laughed as she couldn’t help but follow suit, playing with his hands as she got dizzy again and just closer her eyes. “Mmm... I love you.” She mumbled trying to steady her balance even while lying down.

He frowned some. “Slept fine. I’m gonna go take a walk.” He muttered, running a hand through his hair and pulled a T-shirt over his head, pulling away to go get some shoes on.

Max frowned and gave a nod "Oh um alright....I'll save you some food." She murmured before she followed him out and made breakfast for everyone

JD held her close to him seeing her eyes closed tight "I love you too beautiful." He murmured before he started to drift to sleep

Angel was shaking his dad awake around six in the evening frowning some, hearing his brother crying in his travel for upstairs. “Daddy! Daddy! Javi crying and I can’t reach him. Mommy sleeping in bathroom and she not waking up.” He told him frowning some.

The next couple of weeks went by exactly the same. Jon barely taking notice of anybody and barely spending anytime at the house. His days were taken up with work and his nights were spent drinking out of the house, coming home covered in dirt every night and stripping off in the utility room before going to bed. He never once came home with another woman’s perfume on him though

JD grunted some and rubbed his eyes. He quickly got up though when he comprehended what Angel had said. He rushed to Carmen and pulled her into his arms "Carmen?! Carmen?!" He yelled hitting her face gently to try and wake her up

Max lay in bed coughing hard and shivering. She had woken feeling like death and had Lily with her sister in law at the moment. She hadn't been feelimg very well the past few days but Jon hadn't noticed at all. She looked over at Jon as he walked into the room "H...hey.." she whispered pulling the multiple blankets she had on her closer to her body if it was possible

She was barely breathing and managed to open her eyes for a moment before she passed out again and Angel went to stand in the doorway watching them. “Why is mommy not waking up?” He asked him quietly.

Hed gone home to get changed before going to his next job but frowned seeing her in bed and walked over quietly, feeling her forehead. “You look like shit.” He told her bluntly, going to get her some water and called Frank to let him know he was gonna have to postpone his next job.

JD frowned more and looked at his son "Angel go get my phone right now okay? Then go get your stool and stay by your brother okay?" He said as calmly as he could

Max frowned deeply at him "I've looked like shit the past week and a half.....I feel like fucking dearh today." She muttered before going into a coughing fit reaching for her water slowly. Any energy she tried to exert at the moment was a struggle for her.

He just nodded and went to get his dads phone where he’d seen it on the coffee table and took it back up to him then went to sit with Javi, managing to climb into the travel cot off their bed and stared at the bathroom door waiting quietly until he saw some strange people going in there and eventually watched his dad come over and pick them both up. “What’s wrong with mommy?” He asked him getting worried now as he watched the people taking her away. “Where’s she going?!”

He frowned some sighing heavily. “You get a doctors appointment yet?” He asked her, moving to sit with her and just held her close gently for comfort.

Once the paramedics arrived he rushed to Angel and Javi picking them up quickly. He bounced them some shaking his head some "They have to take her to the hospital, come on I gotta take you to your uncle." He said before he rushed to the car grabbing the diaper bag and rushing to Carmen's brothers house

Max shook her head some cuddling him close. This had been the first time in weeks he had held her like this "No...I'll be fine. Its just a little cold." She muttered groaning softly and shut her eyes tight as a headache came over her "I'll be fine."

“Uh huh... get some rest. I’m making you an appointment.” He murmured kissing her head and just stayed quiet holding her close. "I love you." He whispered, kissing her head and stayed with her until she was asleep, getting up to go make her an appointment then headed out to the kitchen and went through some of the files Frank had given him on his next target sighing quietly, completely unable to focus on what he was doing.

Angel was whining the whole time, not wanting to go and because Javi was starting to pay attention to the world around him now he was copying his brother until they were dropped off and he just tried to follow his Dad out to the car until it had left the street.

By the time he'd arrived at the hospital they were ready to talk to him, taking him straight through to the room she'd been put into, "Mr. Pardo, your wife has had a minor stroke. We'd like to keep her here for at least the next week or so to run some more tests and try to get to the bottom of this. It's not clear why her doctor in New York didn't press for different tests but the good news is while we wait for results, she is awake now and she's feeling very weak but she's still able to talk and move." He explained to JD before allowing him in to go see her.

Max frowned some and whined some as he left her side but let him go. She sighed heavily when an hour or so later she got a call from her brother saying Stephanie had a family emergency they needed to get to and they couldn't take Lily. She got up slowly and stumbled out of the room pulling her jacket tight to her body "I...I have to...go get....Lily..." she panted

JD rushed them to his in-laws and gave a brief explaination of the situation before rushing to the hospital. He hated leaving the boys like that but he had to get to Carmen. As he got inside the hospital he asked for her name and frowned when a doctor fame straight up to him "A stroke?! How can that be? Are you saying she has a brain issue too?" He asked in a panic as he followed the doctor to her room

“No. The stroke was caused by a blood clot due to an irregular heartbeat.” He explained and then left him to privacy in the room with her.
Carmen looked up when she saw him come in and frowned some, reaching for him weakly. “Lay with me.” She slurred out to him.

Jon frowned shaking his head. “Go lay down. You’re not going anywhere.” He muttered. “That’s an order,” he told her seriously and made her turn around to go back to bed, hearing that lily needed to be picked up and sighed some. “I’ll go get her if it’s that important but you need to get some sleep.” He told her seriously, making sure she was set up with water a bucket and tissues and whatnot before heading out himself to go get the kid.

JD frowned and moved to lay with her when she asked giving a heavy sigh "Hey.." he whispered letting a few tears fall unable to hold him them back. He had truely thought he almost lost her there

Lily looked over at the car across the street seeing her dad get out and frowned softly. As he spoke to her uncle she clutched her little bag of toys tight scared of her father as of late. She had tried to talk with him but after one bad day and him screaming at her she was scared to death of him. He was nothing like the man her mother described to her when he was away. They got to the end of the road but she stayed on the side walk frowning as he continued to walk "Wait! Mommy says we have to hold hands before crossing the street." She yelled to him cowaring some as he turned back to look at her

she frowned a little and found his hand with hers, giving it a tight squeeze as she could manage. “Talk to me.” She mumbled, watching him as much as she could.

He frowned some and sighed heavily. “I don’t have time for this.” He muttered and grabbed her to lift her up onto his shoulders, carrying her across tothe car and then into her car seat, buckling her in. “Come on. Moms not feeling very good so we gotta pick up dinner on the way home. What do you want?” He muttered.

JD took a deep breath keeping her ckose to him "I just want to know whats wrong so we can fix this." He whispered to her doing his best to keep hinself calm

Lily frowned letting him pick her up. Once they were headed back and he asked about food she gave a long hard thought "Can we get McDonalds? But mommy needs soup, she always give me soup when I'm sicky." She explain before she looked over at him "Da...Daddy? Why do you hate me?" She asked quietly

She frowned some “but they already told us. “ she mumbled. “They said it’s an enlarged heart. They told us this before Javi was born.” She mumbled a little out of breath by the end and confused as to why he kept saying he didn’t know what was going on. Starting to get frustrated.

“yeah we can get McDonald’s. Your mom has soup already.” He told her not answering her last question at all as he eventually pulled up to the drive-thru
