Weapons Are Human

Cisco kept punching the wall until he felt Leila put her hand on his arm. Cisco was about to punch the wall again but stopped. His hand was shaking as he looked at the ground, his knuckles had some blood on it. Cisco started to think what he was going to do. He can't go back on the streets or else it will be worse now he's considered as just property. He turned away from Leila, pulling his arm away from her. Still not saying anything.

Leila didn't let Cisco's actions faze her.

"Let me fix your hand." She said softly. Her brain was churning, considering many possible outcomes that could happen from the King's announcement. She wanted to do something about it, and she was probably the only human who did.

"I want to help." She told Cisco.

Cisco turned his head slightly when he herd Leila say that she wanted to treat his hand and help him.

"Sorry, but I don't think my kind could be helped anymore. I have to leave this place and hide." He said. Cisco was thinking noe that the king has set this in stone, his guards might start hunting weapons who don't belong to anyone.

Tears began pooling in Leila's eyes. She grasped his wrist.

"Please don't go." She pleaded, voice trembleing as she tried to hold back the water works. She felt alone after Mia's outburst. She didn't want to lose anyone else.

"Stay." She quietly requested. Her grip on Cisco lessened and she released his arm. She looked down to the floor, not wanting to let Cisco see her cry. She couldn't hold the years back anymore. They silently rolled down her cheeks.

Cisco didn't look at her when he walked away. When she grabbed his wrist and pleaded him to stay, he turned his hand to see her in the corner of his eye.

"Why should I stay? Give me a reason to stay." He said. Cisco didn't want to look at her as she cried. He knew it would be trouble if he stayed, but some things holding him back.

"You're special to me. I don't want to be alone." Leila replied, tears flowing freely. They could faintly be heard dropping in the floor. Her brain was scrambled. her thoughts fuzzy and nonsensical. She hadn't paid much attention to what she said to Cisco and just bored the first thing that came into her head.

Cisco looked at the ground as she said that. He's never herd anyone say that to him. Every human said that he should die and that he's a freak. Other weapons would fend for them self and not trust anyone. Cisco hearing Leila say those words made him care for her. Which means he can't stay even more. If people see a human being nice to a weapon, she'll get hurt.

"I'm sorry... I can't stay. It's better like that." He said. He turned to look at the door and put his hood up. "Thank you, Leila. You've been the only one who cared for me." He said as he started to walk to the door.

Leila's fear of loneliness intensified as Cisco began leaving. Not thinking, she clamped her arms around his waist.

"Don't leave me." She begged. All traces of her usual, logical self had been replaced by a wide eyed girl overcome with fear and grief. She had even disregarded the fact that he had an injury. All she wanted was for her savior to stay with her. Suddenly, things became very clear. All worry evaporated as a single idea took the forefront of Leila's thoughts.

"Let's kill the King."

Cisco reached for the door knob but he stopped when Leila clamped her arms around him. He felt some pain when she did that but was taken by surprised so he didn't notice. Cisco looked at her as she begged him to stay.

"Hey... Let go." He said. Cisco was about to pull her off of him but stopped when she suggested that they should kill the king.

"What?! That's impossible and stupid. We'll be killed."

"Maybe," Leila responded, "but isn't it better to go down fighting?" She had studied enough history to know what happened to slaves. If they refused to do what their masters told them to do, they were whipped or killed. Cisco seemed like someone who would resist. An image passed through Leila's mind. Cisco lying on the cold ground with no signs of getting up. That scared her. She wrapped her arms more tightly around the Weapon's body. She didn't want him to die.

Cisco thought about going to while fighting. He wasn't afraid of death since he almost died sometimes. He thought that he should at least see what can be done. Cisco stopped thinking when Leila tighten were grip, causing more pain.

"Ow! Hey, loosen up a bit, will ya? I can't fight if I get killed from this." He said as he put his hands on hers, trying to loosen them.

"Sorry." Leila mumbled, releasing Cisco. She looked at her feet, realizing what she had just said and done. She scrunched her eyebrows as what Cisco had just said played over in her mind.

"You want to fight?" She asked, unsure if she had heard correctly.

Cisco sighed in relief when Leila let go. He rubbed his stomach a bit before hearing what she said. Cisco thought for a moment before turning around to face her.

"I've been kicked and punched for far too long. I think it's about time I teach them a lesson." He said, almost sounding determine.

A small smile played on Leila's lips. She nodded, agreeing with Cisco's words. She had also been a subject of bullying. She knew that Cisco would have had far worse than her. He would have been left for dead. People wouldn't have shown the same restraint to him as they did to her. Simply because he was a Weapon.

"And you wouldn't mind working with me?"

"I don't think you should be apart if this." Cisco said. He knew that if he would try this he would get killed easily, and he didn't want Leila to die for him. Since this new law came out, Cisco thought that he could talk to some other weapons that he remembered from the past and start a rebellion.

"It would be too dangerous for you."

"Too dangerous for me?" Leila's anger flared. Her emotions were unstable. "Says the one who's injured." She criticized, poking Cisco on is chest.

"At least I'd be able to run away quickly." She didn't even know why she was so angry, but what Cisco said had made her furious. 'He said he didn't need me.' The thought popped up. That's what Leila had gotten from his deny to let her come.

Cisco was a bit surprised by her attitude when he suggested that she shouldn't come along. He got a bit agitated when she poked his chest.

"Says the one who doesn't know how to fight. You wouldn't last out there. I had to save you when you were being picked on and bullied." He said.

"And your broken rib could have killed you." Leila retorted. She realized what she had said. Remembered her fear of Cisco's death. Her anger ebbed into worry.

"I want to help." She said dejectedly, all fight taken out of her. She didn't want to be left alone. She wanted to make the king pay. She wanted Cisco to be safe. She wanted, she wanted, she wanted. But what could she actually do?

Cisco looked at her, noticing her mood change again. She says that she wants to help him but at what cost.

"You do realize that two people trying to kill the king is suicide. You're a human, not a weapon. I don't want you to be killed because of me." He said. Cisco looked at her for a moment before turning towards the door again.

(They're both being more stubborn than a mule xD )

Leila's eyes widened in surprise. Had Cisco really said that? He was worried about her? But why? He had saved her life once, and she owed him for that. She felt obligated to help him in any way he could. That, and he was special. Leila couldn't tell exactly why, but there was another reason she wanted to stay near him. All she had done for him was give him some food and a jacket. Her father had operated on him against his will. Wasn't he angry at her?

"I know it's dangerous..." She said as he turned to go. "But why does it matter that I'm human? There's barely a difference between us. You eat, breath, and sleep like a human. You think and have emotions like a human. What makes humans and Weapons so different?"

"You're right. Humans and Weapons aren't that different, but the king thinks differently. He'll enslave and kill weapons. Humans are fine." Cisco was getting more agitated from the thought of all of this. Humans never get pushed around or forgotten or killed. Weapons like himself always get stepped on.

"I'm going to find more weapons and fight." He said as he grabbed the door knob and opened the door. The cold air rushing in as he opened it.

Leila opened her mouth to speak again, but stopped herself. 'This isn't getting anywhere.' She thought to herself. A sigh escaped her. Cisco wouldn't budge, she could see that. It was tiring arguing with him. All the events of the day had worn her out. She just wanted to go to sleep.

"At least stay the night. It's already dark and we have a spare room you can sleep in." Leila offered. It was the least she could do for him. She would give in for now.

Cisco thought about her offer when the cold air hit his face. It was really windy tonight and it was slightly snowing so it felt like it was below zero. Cisco slowly closed the door and turned to face Leila.

"Fine. I'll stay for one night, but I'm gone in the mourning." He said, not looking at her as he stuck his hands in his pocket.

Leila let herself smile.

"Alright. The room's next to mine." She said pointing in the correct direction. "Would you like to shower? I can get some dinner ready in the mean time." Leila suggested. She didn't know when Mia would be coming back, or even if she would. Luckily, Leila had learnt some basics from her nanny.

Cisco nodded when she mentioned the shower. The last time he had hot water on him was when some jerk threw his coffee at him on the streets.

"Is there a towel I can use?" He asked.
