Weapons Are Human

Cisco walked into the room and closed the door. He looked around inside the room and then saw the bed. It was small but much nicer then a dumpster. He laid on the bed and looked at the ceiling. He thought about today and the events taken place. Pretty much he was taken in and treated when hurt and met Leila who was the kindest person that Cisco ever met. As soon as he laid on the bed he soon fell asleep for half of the night.

Leila woke up with the sun. Which, being the middle of winter, wasnt very early. She peered around he room groggily. She blinked a few times. Her brain slowly wurred into motion. She looked at a clock with bleary eyes. Her eyes widened, now very awake. She hurried out of her room. She stood in front of the spare room and gave a soft knock on the door.

"Cisco? Are you awake?" 'Are you still there?'

Cisco had actually slept until it was five in the mourning. He woke up and looked around. It was still pretty dark but there was no wind. Cisco thought that he should go before he starts getting attached to this place. He got up, got his clothes that fit him, left a small not on his bed saying "thanks", grabbed some food and headed out the door with his things.

Hearing no reply, Leila hesitantly opened the door. She quickly noticed that there was no one inside. Cisco was nowhere to be seen. She stepped in and looked around. There was a piece of paper sitting on the bed. "Thanks" was written in what Leila assumed was Cisco's handwriting. She looked at it for a full minute. She was deserted. Her mind didn'twant to accept it. She wouldn't accept it. Her determination steeled itself. She gathered a few medical supplies. She changed into inconspicuous but comfy clothes. She put a change of clothes along with the medical supplies in a sash bag which she slung across her chest. She got all the money she had. She took All the easy-to-eat dry food and a few cans as well. She wrote a note for her parents saying she had decided to go traveling the country for a bit. If they see her funds run out, please put more in from her savings account. She would be back as soon as she could. With that done, Leila took a deep breath and opened the door. She stepped out into the cold winter morning. Now began her search of Cisco. She would help whether he wanted it or not.

Cisco was in town with his hood up and his hands in his pockets as he looked down. He would look down ally ways to try and find other weapons but he couldn't see anyone. He kept looking around the town until he would start looking underground in subways. He would not make any eye contact at all with anyone.

(Few day dime skip)

Leila had been asking around for Cisco. Obviously she didn't use his name, or even the fact that he was a weapon. He would most likely conceal that. She looked for places where she thought he might be. 'He's looking for other Weapons. Weapons are obviously going into hiding. Where would a good hiding spot be?' She looked in dumpsters and boxes. Abandoned buildings and under bridges. She came up with nothing. Her best bet would be to head to the capitol. If Cisco was aiming to... dethrone the king, that was the only place to go.

Cisco was in the major city, the capital, looking for weapons. He walked the round the city, his head up now since he was tired of looking at the ground. After awhile of looking, Cisco looked down an ally and saw some movement at the end of the ally way. He thought that he found someone, maybe a weapon, and walked towards the movement. He got close to the movement and saw that it was a weapon, a child. The child looked at Cisco and scooted away. Cisco lifted his hood and looked at the kid's eyes. The kid saw his eyes and knew he was a weapon as well. "What do you want?" Asked the kid. Cisco kneeled down to the kid.

"I need to find more weapons. I plan on killing the king." He said. The kid looked at him with widen eyes.

"That's impossible." Said the kid.

"Maybe, but it's better to die fighting then starve in a ally way." Said Cisco as he took out the bread he had left and gave it to him.

"Here." He said as he gave him the bread. They talked for a bit more, the kid said that he knew where he could find more weapons but they might not consider helping him with the job. Just then, two police men of the king were walking as they looked down an ally. They saw two people there and then saw their eyes.

"You two!" Yelled the cop. Cisco and the kid looked and saw that two officers were coming this way.

"Shit." Said Cisco. He looked back at the kid and then the other exit of the ally. There was a wall but it wasn't too high.

"Come on, get up. Run!" He said. Cisco helped the kid up and went to the wall. The cops saw this and went after them. Cisco got to the wall and pushed the kid up. When the kid was over, Cisco jumped up and grabbed the ledge and pulled himself over. The cops followed them over. There was a dumpster behind the wall and Cisco told the kid to hide while he gets the cops away. The kid nodded and went inside the dumpster. Cisco ran to the street and looked behind him and saw the cops coming over the wall. Cisco waved at them and then ran. The cops ran towards Cisco and chased him.

Leila cradled the warm drink in her hands as she wandered along the streets of the capitol city. It was far grander than her home town. The buildings were clearly more expensive. Everything was more modern as well. Her search for Cisco had yet to prove fruitful. She had gotten two reports of a person of his description in the area, but other than that, there was nothing. Nobody would notice just another face in the crowd. Cisco had managed to blend in, not drawing any attention to himself. Assuming that was his goal, he was doing well.

The situation with the Weapons had only declined. With them being the minority, they hadn't even bothered putting up a fight. If they had, nothing was heard about it. Most Weapons were treated like slaves even before the new laws were passed. Now it was just official. Leila wondered how much support Cisco would manage to get.

Her thoughts were brought to an abrupt halt when she heard a commotion nearby. Rushing to the source, all she saw was a pair of policemen running down the road. There was a metallic clank that came from the dumpster in the alley Leila stood near. She cautiously made her way towards it, drink still in hand. She opened the lid of the dumpster slowly. Young, oddly coloured eyes looked at her in fear. A child Weapon. Pity overwhelmed Leila, but self defense was on the forefront of the child's mind. He leapt out at her, knocking her to the ground. Somehow, Leila's drink remained intact. The child raised a fist to strike Leila in the face.

"I'm not your enemy." She said calmly. The boy hesitated. "I want to help." She stated with determination. The child was obviously skeptical, but allowed her to stand.

"Help me, or the king?" He asked Leila.

"You. You and all the weapons. This king needs to be... taken care of." It was strange, Leila had considered it the entire time she was traveling, and the idea of killing the king became more and more appealing to her, yet she couldn't actually say it.

"You sound like the other guy." The child said. Leila's eyes widened.

"The other guy? Did he have messy brown hair, one green eye and one browny-red one? About this tall, quite lean?" She frantically asked. The child slapped his hands over his mouth.

"Please, I'm his friend."

"If you're his friend, wouldn't he tell you where he was?"

Leila sighed. "He's stubborn. He doesn't particularly want my help. I just need to find him so I can check for any wounds." She was really worried about his rib. It should be healed by now, but if it got bumped somewhere along the line, it could have gotten damaged again. The child pointed up the road.

"He lured the cops away." He said. Relief and worry washed over Leila at the same time. She knew where he was, but the police catching a Weapon without an owner would be bad news.

"Thank you. It's not much, but tale this. It's warm and sweet. Oh, and this." She handed the child her hot chocolate and a packet of dried meat. She wasted no more time in sprinting after the policemen. Their tracks were still visible in the snow since not many people passed that way.

(Hope you don't mind that I took control of the kid)

(It's fine.)

"Hey, stop!" Shouted one of the police men. Cisco didn't look back, he kept running away. He ran for a awhile before he started to get tired and started to slow done. He notice and kept pushing himself till it hurt as he ran from the cops. The coos were catching up to Cisco as he was getting tired. Cisco then tried to loose them by running through allies but the cops kept a good pace at him. Eventually one of the cops caught up to Cisco and took out his baton and hit Cisco on his knee. Cisco went down and slid on the cold snowy floor and grabbed his knee, yelling in pain. "Finally. You run fast for a weapon." Said the cop with the baton. He grabbed Cisco and brought him up so he was looking at his eyes.

"Now where did your little friend go?" He asked. Cisco looked at the cop and then spat at his face.

"Go to hell, human. I'm not talking." Said Cisco. The other cop went in front of Cisco and his partner so that they were blocking his path from front and back. The other cop let go of Cisco to wipe the spit off his face. The other cop then grabbed Cisco and held on to him as he got Cisco up. The cop that he spat at looked at Cisco and then backed hand Cisco's face. The cop hand gloves with plastic on the knuckles so the back hand cut Cisco's lip.

"I won't ask again, Weapon!" Said the cop, threatening Cisco.

Leila instantly recognized Cisco. She also realized that he wasn't in a good situation. She took a deep breath and mustered all her courage.

"Hey! What do you think you're doing to my slave?!" She yelled at the police men, storming up to them. She gave a dramatic gasp and clasped Cico's chin. She swiveled it back and forth roughly. She looked him in the eyes. 'I'm sorry. I don't mean any of this.' She tried to communicate without words.

"Look at him! You ruined his face. Why do you think I got him? It's not like he has any muscle on him. He's pretty and he lasts long." 'Oh god, what am I saying?' She glared at the police. "Well, we was before you went and whacked him." Leila's brain and sense of caution were screaming at her. She had to shove the worry away so she could concentrate on the task at hand.

"I suppose I'll just have to leave the lights off this evening." She hummed. 'Why, WHY, did I go this route? Couldn't I have said he was my gardener or something?' Leila mentally tore her hair out, slapped her face, and curled I to the foetal possition. On the outside. She tried to remain as calm and serious as possible.

The cops looked back when they herd a women shouting st them. Cisco looked at well to see who it was and his eyes widen, he could not believe his eyes. It was Leila and she walked up pass the first cop and looked at Cisco's face. He stared at her eyes with a bit of irritation as she began to spoke. The cops herd what she said about Cisco belonging to her and the cops looked back at Cisco and then at Leila. The cop put his baton away while the other cop loosen his grip.

"Sorry, maim. We thought he was a stray weapon. Here you go, make sure you keep an eye on him." He said as they slightly pushed Cisco off to the side and walked away. Once the cops were gone, Cisco looked at Leila and grabbed her shirt and pulled her to his face. His eyes were agitated at what she said.

"Slave?! Why do you think you got me?! And what do you mean by leaving the lights off this evening?!" He said with his voiced a bit raised but not too loud the cops would hear. Obviously be didn't get the silent message Leila tried to give him.

"Why did you followed me." He said as he tried to calm down and he let go of her shirt.

Leila sighed in relief as the police walked away. It was short lived as Cisco grabbed her, anger evident in his voice. Her face went red when he mentioned what she had said. When he released her, Leila couldn't even look him in the eyes. She had no courage left. Standing up to the police had taken a lot out of her.

"I... Want to help." She mumbled. "As for what I said, it was to try stop them. I'm sorry." She fiddled with the hem of her jacket. The latest story about what people were using Weapons for was thefirst thing that came to her mind when she was frantically thinking of what to say to the policemen.

"I didn't mean it." She dug around her bag and got out some antiseptic and plasters. She hesitantly looked at Cisco.

"May I?" She asked, noodling up the items for him to see.

Cisco looked at her for a moment more before turning away and leaned his back against the wall. When she apologised to Cisco he rolled his eyes and sighed.

"Whatever. What's done is done." He said. Cisco started to feel the sting on his lip again when from when the cop hit him. He brought his hand up to touch it and then looked at his finger. It was still bleeding and Cisco could taste the iron like fast of his blood. Cisco then looked at Leila when she asked if she could see his wound. Cisco hesitated a bit more then Leila bit then nodded.

"Fine, sure."

Leila went closer to Cisco. She wet some cotton wool with the antiseptic which she dabbed on his cuts. She worked silently. Putting plasters over up the wounds, she stepped back.

"There." She put the supplies away. She looked at Cisco. She understood that he was angry at her. She was also glad that he didn't seem to understand the meaning behind the words she had used to stop the policemen. She took a deep breath.

"So, what's your plan for getting the Kings?" She asked in hushed tones.

Cisco looked at the wall behind Leila when she started to patch up his cut. When she was done and stepped back, Cisco looked at her as he brought a finger where the cut was.

"Thanks." He said. When Leila asked him about the plan to assassinate the king, he thought for a moment.

"I'm finding more weapons together and form a rebellion. Make a mark to this corrupted monarchy with words and action, or blood." He said to her.

"Any luck with that?" Her question sounded more rude than she had intended, causing her to wince.

"I meant, have you found anyone?" Leila rephrased. "I doubt the king will listen to reason though. Words don't affect people like him." She said, shaking her head. There had been news of the king keeping multiple concubines, both Weapon and human.

Cisco raised an eyebrow when she asked if he found anyone. He nodded. "Yeah, I found a kid. He is small but would be a good weapon. And I'm not going to talk to the king. I'm going to talk to other weapons. That kid told where I can find more." He said to her

Leila nodded. "The one hiding in the dumpster." She quickly made the connection. The one who had almost punched her in the face.

"Don't forget, you've also got me." She reminded him. She was going to help. Hopefully, following Cisco all this way would be enough to change his mind.

Cisco stared at Leila as she said that he has her. He sighed and crossed his arms 'She did save me... again. I guess I owe her. Damn.' He thought.

"Well, I guess so. I mean, you saved me again from trouble so... thanks." He said. Cisco scratched the back of his head as he waited for her say in this.

A smile bloomed on Leila's face. She was expecting to have to argue with Cisco again to try convince him.

"I'll do my best." She said with determination. At least now she wasn't going to be alone any more. She thought of something.

"Oh, should we go back to find that child?" If Cisco said that he was going to join them, they would probably get him. Maybe Cisco had already sorted that out though. There was no harm in asking.

Cisco nodded. He remembered where the dumpster was so he walked to the ally way.

"Come on. Let's get going." He said. Cisco started to walk back. When he stepped out of the ally. One cop, different from the other two, spotted Cisco and gave him a suspicious look at him. Without a human by him. The cop thinks he's a runaway.

Leila rushed after Cisco to see another policeman approach him.

"Shit." She cursed under her breath. She slowed her pace as she got closer. She took calming breaths.

"Is there a problem officer?" She asked innocently. If it was necessary, she would repeat what she had said to the others... but without the unneeded details.

The cop walked up to Cisco and then notice Leila run up next to him. The cop tipped his hat at Leila.

"Is this your weapon, ma'am?" He asked. Cisco looked at Leila, wondering what she would say.

"He is with me, yes." Leila responded quickly. She was careful with her wording. Cisco was pretty peeved when she called him a slave, but calling him her comrade wouldn't bode well with the authorities. Hopefully she had found a middle ground.

Cisco looked at her and then back at the cop. The cop looked at Cisco and then back to Leila.

"Very well then, carry on." He said. The cop then walked away. Cisco sighed a bit in relief.

"I guess you're more helpful then I thought." He said to Leila.
