Weapons Are Human

Leila narrowed her eyes. "That was uncalled for." She grumbled. She breathed out a sigh. She looked at the cop fading into the distance.

"There are a lot of them around this area. You should stay close to me." Leila suggested. If Cisco was clearly with a human, he shouldn't be questioned so much. It made sense.

Cisco nodded. He stepped closer to Leila until his arm almost brushed against her arm.

"Okay, let's get moving." He said as he waited for Leila to walk. They walked a bit more until they reached the ally way. Cisco walked ahead in the ally way and up to the dumpster. He knocked on the dumpster a bit before talking.

"Hey, kid. You in there? Remember me?" He asked.

Leila calmly led the way to the alley, keeping an eye out for any more police wandering around. She followed close to Cisco as he went into the alley. She stood behind Cisco as he called out to the child. The dumpster lid opened, the child's head popping out. Leila leaned into view and smiled at the young Weapon.

"Hi there." She greeted sweetly. She always had a soft spot for children.

The child saw Cisco and smiled a little. He then saw Leila and shy away a bit. Cisco looked back at Leila.

"I think he's nervous around you." He said. He then looked back at the kid.

"I never got your name, what is it?" He asked. The child hesitated when Cisco asked for his name.

"It's... Sam." He said.

Leila frowned but nodded. Cisco's words seemed to be true. She understood why. To Weapons, humans were cruel and heartless. They were the masters that had to be obeyed and feared. Leila agreed with that belief. Most humans were unconcerned about the well being of Weapons. Some opted to kill them instead of keeping them as slaves, but they were only a handful of humans. She took a few steps back and lent against the wall, trying to look as non menacing as possible. 'Sam huh?' Leila thought. If the boy was weary of her, she wouldn't speak unless spoken to.

Sam notice Leila step back a bit and he got less nervous. Sam looked at Leila for a second before turning to Cisco.

"What's your name, both of you?" He asked.

"I'm Cisco. This person right here is Leila." He said. The boy nodded and looked at Leila again and then back to Cisco.

"So, how did you end up being friends with this human here?" Asked Sam.

"Cisco saved my life." Leila responded to Sam's question with a smile. It was where it all started, if anything. There where a whole lot of other things, but Sam probably didn't want to hear that.

Sam looked at Leila with a look of confusion. He then turned back to Cisco. "You saved a human, why?" He asked. Cisco rolled his eyes and chuckled a bit.

"Okay, at first I didn't know she was a human until after I saved her. Besides, it wasn't that bad. She helped me it twice already so now I owe her." He said. Cisco stood up and leaned against the wall next to the dumpster so Sam could get out.

Leila watched the boy clamber out the dumpster. Once her was in the ground, she approached him carefully.

"Can I check you for injuries?" She requested, already digging through her satchel for medical supplies.

Sam saw that Leila was approaching him and he back up, he shook his head when she offered to check for injuries.

"I'm fine." He said. Cisco looked at Sam as he backed up.

"She's okay, but if you don't want it then that's fine. I was like that in the beginning." He said. "What weapon do you turn into?" Sam looked at Cisco.

"A Revolver." He said.

Leila tilted her head to the side. 'Another gun?' There seemed to be less in recent times. Older styled weapons like swords were more common. Guns were able to wield themselves to an extent, and humans didn't trust them. They wanted to have full control. So, guns were never hired, leaving them with no money and, therefore, no food. Some kept them as showcase items, never to be used. Others got them when they were very young, raising them to make sure of absolute submission. Leila kept her hand on her bag. She was worried about anything that may be wrong with the child, but she wouldn't force him.

"A revolver, huh? That's a nice gun, small too." Just then Cisco got an idea that Sam could part take in.

"Hey Sam, how would you like to help us take down the king?" He asked. Since Leila doesn't know how to use a gun and Cisco can only shoot when he's a weapon and can't move, Cisco can use Sam as a weapon.

Leila silently watched the exchange between the two Weapons. She felt left out, not being knowledgeable about such matters. The first time she had ever wielded a gun was Cisco when they were attacked. She didn't even shoot. She only knew the basic differences about weapons in general. As far as she could remember, revolvers were the guns that you often saw in cowboy movies. That was the extent on her knowledge. She wished she did know more, but that wasn't something she concerned herself with previously.

Leila opened her mouth to protest against Cisco's question. Sam was just a child. It would be dangerous. But she remembered Cisco saying something very similar to her. Not wanting to remind him of that, she shut her mouth and waited to see the boy's response.

Sam's eyes widen when Cisco asked him to help him kill the king. Sam thought for a moment, he remembered his parents from a year ago. His parents went to ask the king for some help but the king just took his parents as slaves. He ran away and lived on the streets after that. Sam looked back at Cisco with dedication in his eyes and nodded.

"Yes, I want to help." He said. Cisco smiled and reached his hand out. Sam saw his hand and took it and gave it a shook before turning into his weapon.

Leila gaped when Sam accepted the offer. Her jaw worked as she tried to form words to stop him. Nothing came to mind, causing her to have a likeness to a fish. When Sam transformed into his weapon, she quickly found her voice.

"Um, it's illegal for Weapons to carry weapons. It's considered a health hazard." She stated. She realized that she now sounded like she wanted to follow the law, contradicting their plan to overthrow the king.

"I mean, if you want to be able to walk around under the guise of being owned by me, then it's best not to..." She wasn't sure her explanation would suffice, but hoped for their understanding.

Cisco looked at Leila when she told him that carrying a weapon is illegal. He chuckled at her.

"We're plotting to get the king and you're worried about something being illegal? I'll just hid him in my jacket." He said.

Leila huffed. "I'm just saying that there are a lot of police around and it will be trouble if you get caught. I won't be able to get you out of that one." She hoped her logic would get through to them. "Let Sam walk with us. It wouldn't be suspicious." She tried.

Sam turned back to into his human form. Cisco looked at Sam and then at Leila.

"So you want to have two weapons be by your side?" Asked Sam. Cisco rolled his eyes and sighed.

"Okay, fine. We'll just walk with you. Hey Sam, you know where we can find some more weapons." Asked Cisco. Sam nodded. "I have an idea. Just follow me."

The words Sam used felt like an insult to Leila. It was as if he was comparing her to all the other humans and finding a lot in common. Leila hung her head in shame. She hadn't meant it like that. She followed after the Weapons quietly. She didn't want to say anything in case it caused the child to dislike her more. She just hoped that Cisco still had her in his good books.

Cisco walked with Sam for a couple of minutes until he turned into an ally way and stopped right under a manhole.

"This is where I saw some weapons go." He said. Cisco looked at the manhole and then around the ally. He saw some marks on the wall and graffiti around the ally.

"Down here, huh? Okay." Cisco turned to Leila. "I think you should stay here for now." He said.

"But..." Leila stopped herself and sighed. "Fine." There was no point in auguring. It would up precious time and probably get on Cisco's nerves. Leila was suddenly self conscious of everything she said and did. What was she even here for? Sure, she wanted to help, but what could she do? She placed her hand on her satchel. 'I suppose I can just act as medic.'

Cisco smiled. Leila cooperated with him and he patted her on the back.

"Thank. I don't know how long this would take so take care." He said. Cisco kneeled down to the manhole and lifted the lid. He then let Sam go in and then Cisco would follow. Before Cisco went all the way down on the ladder. He looked up at Leila and gave her a small hand gesture to tell her that he'll see her later. Cisco grabbed the manhole cover and closed the hole.

Leila sighed once again. She was left by herself in an alleyway. It wasn't a particularly pleasant thing to happen. She slid down with her back against the wall, facing the space where the two Weapons had previously occupied. She curled her knees to her chest and wrapped her arms around them. It was cold. She wanted to go buy a warm meal, but didn't want to leave in case Cisco and Sam came back. She didn't know how long it would take, but she would wait, diligently watching the metal disk to see when it moved to reveal the Weapons. Leila rested her head on her knees. 'I'm so tired.' She thought before slowly drifting off.

Cisco and Sam went in the sewers and started to walk around. The stench was something that Cisco never smelled before, it was full of rotting rats and crap. Cisco plugged his nose from the stench.

"God, smells like someone died in here and then was covered in crap." He said. Sam plugged his nose as well. They walked for a couple minutes more before the smell died down a bit and they started to hear people talking. Cisco looked at the direction where he herd the talking and walked towards it, going through a tunnel in the sewers.
