Weapons Are Human

Leila smiled when she got a response. She was half expecting him to refuse to tell her. Despite saving her, he didn't seem to like her much. Or, at least, that's what Leila thought.

"I'm Leila." She said before beginning to eat her own food. Her mood had lifted. Her savior was healing, she had his name, and the food was good.

Cisco nodded when she said her name. 'Leila, huh? It's nice.' He thought. Cisco continued to eat the rest of the pasta. Once he finished he left the plate aside and looked at Leila. He was curious about something.

"Hey, how come you don't hate Weapons?" He asked.

"Because then I'd have to hate my mother." Leila said after little thought. She furrowed her brows. "Wait! No, Mia isn't my actual mother, but she's raised me like her own. I love her like a mother." She explained carefully. She took a bite of her food.

"Also, I don't see why I would." She paused and looked at Cisco with a confused expression. "Why do humans hate Weapons? Does it make any sense?" She asked him.

Cisco hasn't realized that the nanny was like a mother to her. He thought she was just a hired weapon maid. Cisco looked at her when she asked her if it made sense.

"Well, I don't know why humans hate weapons. So far, I've never done anything to begin all this stuff to happen. Why can't we be equal, why do I have to hide, why doesn't that damn king do something instead just sit there on his fat ass and watch as my kind gets discriminated, tormented, pushed around, treated like slaves, and killed? I don't have a reason why humans hate weapons, but I have a good reason why I should." He said. His hands were clenching the blanket on the bed as he finished his rant. Beginning to calm down after.

Leila stayed silent throughout Cisco's speaking. He was angry, that much she could tell. She wanted to ask more, ask his reason for saving her, but she was afraid. She didn't want him to hate her or push his boundaries. She racked her brain, looking for somehting to say. Coming up blank, she just ate her food. She disagreed with the king and his ways, especially with the rumors that had been spreading about him.

"Um, you should rest more once you've eaten." She finally said. Leila looked over to a chair that stood by her table, Cisco's tattered jacket hanging over the back.

"I'll get you a jacket." She said.

Cisco put his hand up to his head after he calmed down. He felt like he was about to have a headache. Cisco herd Leila speak and looked at her when she told him that he should get some rest. Cisco laid back down on the bed and rested his head against the pillow. When he laid down, he felt very comfortable in the bed. He's always slept on the ground outside or inside a stinky dumpster. The bed was new and better so it made Cisco fall asleep pretty fast as he close his eyes.

Leila looked through her dad's cupboard for something that would fit Cisco. Unfortunately, there wasn't anything. Leila thought for a moment. She had gotten money for her birthday and still had most of it left. She would be able to find a good, warm jacket with it. Leila went back to her room to tell Cisco that she was going to go to the shops. He was fast asleep. She smiled as she gently pulled a blanket over him.

Leila walked downstairs and found Mia.

"If Cisco wakes up, please tell him I've gone shopping." Leila requested. She put on her winter coat and stepped out into the frigid evening air.

Cisco slept for a short time, about an hour before he woke up. He was a bit more rested and felt great. He then looked around and notice that he was still in Leila's room, but she wasn't here.

"No one's here." He said to himself. Cisco looked around a bit more before shifting out of bed so his feet were on the ground as he sat at the edge of the bed.

Leila had gotten distracted on her shopping endeavor. She had gotten the jacket, a nice warm coat with a fluffy lining, but ended up window shopping. When she reached the art shop, it was no longer just window shopping. She also ended up going to the book store, and bakery, and pet store - which thankfully nothing was bought - and getting items from each. Arms leaden with a variety of things, Leila made her way back home. The sun was setting, casting its beautiful colors across the sky. Leila stopped to admire it until she remembered that Cisco may be awake already. It had been over 2 hours since she left. She picked upthe peace slightly as she wanted the familiar path home.

Cisco sat in bed for a moment before standing up and feeling some discomfort. He didn't want to stay in bed all day so he walked along the wall as it supported him when he walked out of the room. He was bored and started to explore the place.

Leila walked into her house, hung up her coat, and headed upstairs to her room. She knocked softly. Hearing no answer, she opened the door and went in. Cisco wasn't there. Worry flashed through her. Had he decided to leave? The window was still closed, so at least he hadn't jumped out a second story window. She dropped most of her newly bought items on the floor, keeping the coat in her arms. She darted out the room and sprinted downstairs. She dashed around the house until she literally bumped into the Weapon.

Cisco was slowly walking around the house, browsing around. He was stretching out his legs as he turned corners. He then turned one corner and bump into Leila, sprinting around the corner. He wasn't expecting her to be there and he fell back from the impact.

"Shit!" Yelled Cisco as he panic from the sudden force and grabbed her as he fell.

Leila tumbled over as Cisco grabbed her when he fell. She let out a squeak of surprise and clamped her eyes shut, waiting for impact. She fluttered them open when the movement stopped and she was unharmed. She saw Cisco's beautiful eyes right in front of her own. She had fallen on top of him. She went red from her cheeks to the tips of her ears. She quickly scrambled off him.

"I-I-I, I'm sorry." She tripped over her tongue, flustered. She sat in a kneeling position, back towards him, trying to calm her heart rate. She looked at the item in her hands. She held it out to Cisco, not looking around.

Cisco fell and hit the ground. He let out a small groan of pain as he hit the ground with Leila falling on him.

"...Ow..." He said as he opened his eyes and saw Leila on top of him. He saw her eyes close to his and his heart skipped a beat. When she got off of him, Cisco slowly sat back up and looked at the ground for a moment. He then looked at her as she apologies to him. He saw the jacket that she was holding out at him and he took it from her hands.

"What's this?" He asked, confused that she gave him a jacket.

"Your old one seemed worn down, so I got it for you." Leila said, still looking away. Her face was still similar in colour to that of a tomato. "If it doesn't fit, I can get it exchanged." She tried taking deal breaths. Her heart had yet to calm down. Due to her carelessness, Leila had probably hurt Cisco. He was still recuperating. His chest probably hurt a lot and her landing on it wouldn't have helped at all.

Cisco held his hand on his stomach. It still hurts from before and now it hurt even more. He kept looking at the jacket, feeling the fabric if it. It was warm and new and she got it for him. Cisco never has been treated with this much kindness before. He brought the jacket on his lap as he looked at her. "Well... Thanks for the jacket." He said. Cisco then tried to get up but was stopped from the pain and just staid sitting and soon laid down on the floor.

(sorry about the late reply. I didn't get a notification)

Leila turned to face Cisco when he thanked her. She then noticed his pain and scrambled over to him.

"Are you okay?" She asked, worry evident in her voice. 'If he was okay, would he be in pain? Stupid Leila.' Leila shook her head to focus on the matter at hand. Her falling on him must have hurt. She scanned over him quickly, but didn't see any signs of blood. So nothing had reopened at least.

"Are the bandages too tight? Do you want some painkillers?" She showered him with questions. Her worry for him seemed to overpower her common sense for a moment.

Cisco laid on the ground with his hand on his stomach as be breath deeply. He looked at Leila as she went over to him. She asked if he was alright and he nodded.

"I'm fine, it just stings... A lot." He said. Cisco held the jacket as he laid on the ground. "Could you help me up?" He said. Cisco couldn't easily get up on his own because of his injury.

Leila nodded. She reached over to grasp one hand under Cisco's arm, his body weight resting on her slender arm. She slowly and gently tilted his torso into a sitting position. Leila was about to help Cisco to his feet when an angry shout could be heard.

"That fucking bastard!" Mia screamed from somewhere in the house. Leila's eyes widened in shock. She had never heard her nanny shout so loudly or sound so angry. She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. She would ask about it soon, but first she had to help Cisco. Readjusting her hold, she carefully helped the Weapon to his feet.

(I wasn't too sure where to go, so I decided to start the main plot. Mia was just listening to the news where the king was speaking. If you want more fluff instead, it could be changed)

((Starting the main plot is good.))

Cisco got back on his feet and leaned against the wall. He herd Leila's nanny screamed in anger. It caught him by surprise as well.

"What wrong with her?" He asked as he looked at the direction of the scream.

"I'm not sure." Leila responded. She was worried about Mia now. "I'm going to go see what happened." She said, moving down the hall. She didn't get very far before a door slammed open right in front of her. Mia stood there. She looked at Leila and then to Cisco.

"Don't trust humans." She hissed, tossing a newspaper in Leila's face before storming out the house. The walls shook as the front door was closed with excessive force.

It took a moment for Mia's words to sink in. Even though they hadn't been directed at her, the meaning behind it cut Leila like a knife. It brought her to the verge of tears. With shaking hands, she brought the newspaper closer within reading distance.

"KING ANNOUNCES NEW LAWS OF SEPARATION" said the heading. Leila skimmed over the article. There was a few quotes from the king that caught her attention. Weapons and humans are so vastly different, there is no way we can live together in a peaceful manor. There have already been many cases of injuries caused. It is time to put a stop to it. I plan to implement a series of laws that will stop this unnecessary violence. Leila read over the lines again and again, not believing what she saw. Weapons will no longer have the same set of rights as humans, since they can not be classified as such. Each are a different species. The king didn't use the exact words, but it was clear what he was planning to do. He wanted to turn Weapons into a slave race. More so than they were now. They wouldn't be required to receive minimum pay, and all their rights as sentient beings would be renounced. Unable to comprehend what she had realized, Leila stared at the paper.

"Why..." She breathed, her question addressed to no one.

Cisco was back a bit from them as he leaned on the wall. He saw the nanny swing the door open before Leila went close to the door. Cisco looked at her face and knew she was filled with anger. He herd her saw not to trust humans. Cisco already knew that but why would she be saying that right in front of Leila who is a human. Cisco saw the paper that Leila was looking at. He got closer to her to see what it said.

"What happened to her?" He asked as he looked at the paper. "What's this?"

"The King..." Leila managed, her voice cracking. "Wants to make you slaves." No longer able to hold them back, tears flowed freely from her eyes. The fury she had been addressed with as well as the ew information were too much for her to handle. Leila, for the first time in a extremly long time, felt pure rage intermingling with her sadness. She hated the king who caused such hatred between Weapons and humans. Leila clenched her fist so hard her knuckles turned white.

Cisco's eyes widen when he herd what she said to him. He got irritated when he thought that she better be joking. Cisco took the paper from her hands and looked at it. He read what it said and it was true. The king is turning his kind into a slave race. Cisco ripped the paper and crumpled it up with his hands and threw it on the ground. Cisco had no words to describe how furious he was. He just punched the wall next to him, trying to let his anger out but there was a lot. He just kept punching the wall, clenching his teeth with anger and pain.

Leila watched silently as Cisco attacked the wall of the hallway. She saw them start to bleed, the skin breaking from the impact. She stood up slowly walked over to him. She placed a gentle hand on Cisco's arm.

"That's enough." She said calmly. Watching Cisco releasing his anger on the wall seemed to make hers disappear. She would need to bandage his hand now, not that she minded that much. Attacking inanimate objects wouldn't help anyway. Neither would sitting around moping. There was one single solution left, and it would be impossible.
