Honestly if any of them asked for clothes, the clan would get it for them, Alyx just has no intention of being in their debt in any way other than simple hospitality dictates

Rose is of a similar mindset, though his is more that he doesn’t want to be stuck in the position where he has nothing to pay them back with.

Cyn doesn’t want to ask because he is TERRIBLE at asking for things for himself but if they stay for more than a day or two he’s gonna have to because NOBODY wants to wear the same dingy coveralls for a week straight even if you wash them every night.

Their colors are earthy reds (so more like clay) and browns.

Nice. That works great because Eldergaard's are black, red, and silver, and their sigil is a pentagram (for the five types of magic).

Alyx is Very Stressed because she's having to think of all these things she hasn't thought about in five years--wait crap, Leo sits right next to her, not Astrid--and oh dang, it would be unwise not to have a higher collar but her scarf would make her look fearful--and how much of a stink should she generate if they sat her in a spot further from Lucia than next to her heir???

Also the clan is trying Very Hard to be good hosts to humans, but they totally did not think that some of the customs they are used to are Eldergaardian, not Allarian

Poor Alyx, etiquette is a bitch at the best of times let alone when you’re stressed as hell.

Cyn has done formal dinner parties before and he HATES them so much. Rose has attended parties but only as a bodyguard, never somebody actually allowed to eat or participate, so he’s really out of his depth here. And also cultural differences ghgh. People trying to be polite accidentally coming across as rude. It’s Good.

Alyx is not nearly as good with the politics as she is with the strategizing. Plus she HATES RULES SO MUCH. So while she cannot believe--she totally can--that Leo would do *that* with his hair because it's so gaudy, she's also like, "yeah take that propriety!" so she lets him do it. xD

Astrid is so confused about how much food Rose took because the goal is to eat The Most and plus he's bigger than Cyn so like???

Vampire families will hunt together sometimes, but they don't sit down and do formal dinners so this is weird to begin with. They have formal discussion with drinks, but it's usually tea or coffee or something. They went with wine because Eldergaardians love alcohol so that must be a human thing and it's red so they can feed their vampires that way during the meal without being obvious.

Both Cyn and Rose would NEVER ever dare take more to eat than Gigi. If she goes for seconds they might too, but I imagine it’s INSANELY faux pas to eat more than royalty. Yay weird nobility etiquette rules. I’ve been making up a lot of stuff about Allarian culture and stuff so I hope this is all ok with you jones!

Cyn is used to dinner parties being horribly awkward because everybody assumes he seduced Finn and slept his way into money and they’re all super biting and catty about it and it’s SO EXHAUSTING and awkward and terrible. It’s also why he hates being called Bicksley. Nobody here actually KNOWS what the name really means so it doesn’t MATTER but still.

Granted very few people actually know about Cyn and Finn’s marriage to begin with. Finn asks them all to keep it very quiet and he is powerful enough to be dangerous to cross so there ARE rumours floating around about some horrible low-born harlot who married a noble by using illicit means but no names are mentioned and nobody really BELIEVES it.

Astrid will be collecting food in a handkerchief to give Rose later if he doesn't take more because he needs to eat because he's a warrior! Or if the vampires will notice her doing that, she will probably point it out to Alyx because Alyx apparently is chummy with Rose now, so, she should make sure he eats.

Cyn HATES the rumours about him so much but at least nobody knows they’re about HIM. At least after 7 years of marriage they’ve slowed down a little, but when he was in university Rose would visit him sometimes and be like ‘so apparently you’ve slept with the entire court and all the maids in Bicksley manor’ and Cyn is just like noooooooo make it stop. But it never stops. Gossip never stops among nobility.

Guh that would be so funny. Rose would be a bit horrified because PRINCESS YOU DONT NEED TO but Cyn is just like ‘ok actually I’ll have more meat now please’.

Astrid sneaking Rose food would also be hilarious. He would actually take it too. Because he was totally planning on snacking on a bit of their rations later on in the room if he needed to.

If Astrid can't sneak food, she'll set Alyx on it, and Alyx is not above grabbing one of the younger members of the clan and informing them that the princess asked food to be sent to her men and claiming midnight snacks are totally an important meal in Allaria

Cut to the next night at midnight when everyone is woken up for a formal midnight snack and Alyx is just sitting there with a totally blank expression while Georgiana tries to figure out if this is some vampire or Eldergaardian tradition and what the heck is going on

Honestly Lucia likes wreaking havoc just as much as her son does she just uses cunning words rather than her fists.

And I've been trying to figure out how to get Henryk angry enough to ignore hospitality rules, risk the wrath of his mother, and go after Leo and this was it.
