Thanks. I know that site exists, but haven't thought about it in a long time. I was pretty much looking up how it works in D&D to figure out how it might work with my characters.

Yeah I kinda figured that's what you where doing lol but remember there is no range limits if you use shocking grasp there's nothing stopping you form aiming that electricity in your hands outward like force lighting and there's no need to maintain concentration or long cast times to slow you down unless you want to place that kind of limitation on yourself and most of all there is no rules lawyers to say create water can't manifest water in your target lungs cos it ends the encounter to quickly so all in all far less restrictions and way more leeway when using your power allowing you to be way more powerful I mean honestly dnd limits and nerfs every power, magic, monster and God so much in the name of balance

Makes sense. I'm using D&D more as a starting point to get a rough idea of things. My main concern is staying consistent with what I've already established.

Well that's not really a problem some of the teachers can use time magic including time dilation so if needed you could spend a few hours training in your free time and get a few week worth of practice in this allows you/ your characters to learn as fast as you want/ gm allows we use this option literally to help people who unknowingly limited themselves and wanted/ needed a way to break those limits and if you don't want to get to op during that time you either limits the training time to a set amount that wouldn't give you enough time to get to op or have them use that time to learn/ master certin subject or ability your power granted this technically could be argued to be an inefficient use of training time if you chose to master bard magic over learning creation magic though illusions but you decide what and how your character learns/ progresses

There are other none time related options for smaller pay off's as well the time dilation is just a in case of emergency type situation lol

Oh but do bare in mind no auto hitting like feel free to fill my lungs with water as long as you don't say I drowned instantly like how Quibbles turned my guy to stone but I could still reverse it I mean it's technically better to end your post with you attempting to fill lungs with water or turn someone to stone rather then have the spell instantly hit the target and have then reverse the effects but to be fair I auto hit his stuffed animals because I forgot it was technically alive

Thank you for such a detailed response! Now the main risk I see is my characters becoming too OP. This is particularly challenging regarding Andalm's theurgy, since his God is literally omnipotent, making a deus ex machina that much easier. Really, it seems like the only way to do it properly is to have God tip the scales a little in Andalm's favor each time he prays.

Oh one more thing I forgot to mention you don't really need to worry about being to op anyway because as I've said before we won't start warping reality while everyone else is casting things like fire ball but if you and the others develope your powers to where you are also warping reality then we can just step up our power usage as well it doesn't really matter to us if we are a group of 5th level amateurs fighting with decent but not op abilities or if everyone is already 20th level op monster would could 1 v 1 a God it just means we stop sending low tear monster and send enemies with a higher combat rating so feel free to develope your powers however you want

So, Crystal Maze is pretty much handled atm. Saber has gone Beserk and has warned everyone about smashing the Wyrms. (Duplication) Moon helped Saber by creating a blood moon. Saber was badly injured but healed himself using blood magic from the blood moon.

Ink monster came out the painting after sucking in the fire and eating it. It then ate the magic from a dozen books at once from the fourth floor and transformed. Cherry went to attack but couldn't draw her weapon in time (size and heaviness) and the ink monster grabbed her and began to choke her. So far the rest of the characters there have been unable to get the monster to release her (My characters)

Ok well if that thing is going to start eating magic then I may have step it up a level or at least get a little more creative but one thing I'm definitely going to try is casting a spell to amplify/ enhance Cherry's curse to make it look like a nice big juicy meal I'm sure it won't eat it all but it would probably absorb some of it and at least weaken it a little especially since the enhancement would only be superficial but I'm going to a Halloween party in a minute so I'll post when i get back

Also since the ink monster an eat all roses magic im going have her use some buff and may (if allowed) bust out some angelic and demonic runes that can deal damage specifically cursed demonic Rune the monster couldn't eat without risking some negative side effects especially considering her fighting style atm reliant on her magic since she doesn't know any cqc combat techniques and with some kind of magic that can deal dame she will be next to useless other then providing support and I can't use the more op types of runes magic like time space and gravity so angelic or demonic is one of the few remaining options that could work
