Psychie Psychie , since it did come up in the IC part of the game, I may give you the opportunity to buy off your Flaw of Blindness. It will either need to be paid off, or replaced with something of equal value. If you don't have the points ready to go right when the time comes, I will probably let you go into xp debt to pay for it.

<nods> No problem.

Everyone, just to let you know, I am trying to hold off on my next big IC post until Orikanyo Orikanyo and LowRollLyfe LowRollLyfe have their characters ready to introduce.

I must say, I am impressed with the level of detail that you are going into on the Crafting stuff. Makes me feel good that you are so interested in the game.
Thanks, I sure appreciate that! Honestly, I just really enjoy imagining the technical aspects behind building the wonders and trying to come up with partial patchwork-answers to the "what-ifs" of how the First Age's infrastructure came to be. I also mostly acted as Storyteller when my groups played Exalted, and while I had a blast developing stories and creating interesting (read: heartless and cruel) Dragon-Blooded antagonists, I rarely got to put the same focus on a character of my own. So now that I have the opportunity to do so, I want to make sure I do my due diligence and RP/play to the high-level everyone else on the forum has been dedicating to it.

bless your heart.

so speacialties are basicly certain actions where you add a certain bonus right? the extra bonus being 1:1 with the bonus points right?

I get what you are saying about getting able to play vs being the Storyteller. Both are a lot of fun, but sometimes I just want to be a player.

They are your basic die adders. You can double your Attribute + Ability score for the relevant roll.

Correctomundo! Whenever you commit to an action, you'll usually roll (Attribute + Ability + Specialty) do see how well you perform. An example of this would be my character (Viktor) has a 1-dot specialty in melee (hammers). So whenever I attack using a hammer, I'll roll my (Dexterity + Melee + Hammer specialty); if I attacked with a sword though, I would just roll (Dex + Melee) and the specialty would not benefit me (though it also wouldn't harm my action outside of not being available as a bonus).

Additionally, when purchasing your starting character abilities, using bonus points on a favored/caste ability specialty actually nets 2 dots for 1 BP spent. Though the total number of specialty dots than can be applied to a single roll are still capped at 3.

Crap. I was thinking of Excellencies. Nevermind my last post.

With the Errata, you get four free Specialties that you can apply to what you want.

So basicly they just double the total of the abbtribute and ability (a 3 and a 2 becomes 5 times 2 = 10 dies), I see some with say swords +3, would that be +3 to the dies for 13 or x3?

The 'Swords +3' that I have just add three dice to my roll when using a sword. If I use a axe, those dice don't apply.

It would be a +3 for a total max of 13 before Charms.

Cool gottchyea, So the speacialty and the + whatever are seperate. the + are skill points bought into the speacialty to make it even better, am i getting this right?

I can take a stab at running a game if you have a request. I'm still a novice at it though. Prep is pain D=

Sounds right. Just remember that you can have a total of 3 specialties; be it all three dots in one, or multiple Specialties at lower levels.

If you ever did run a game, depending on the system, I would love to play.

My favored systems at the moment are Exalted[2 and 3], Cypher[Numenera, Gods of the fall and custom settings], and maybe Savage worlds.

I have briefly dipped my toes into Savage Worlds and Cypher, but I would just love a 3e Exalted game.

Solars? Pick a location. Dragonblooded I can take a stab at but we have a game for that kinda.

Woot! We could play just about anywhere as Solars. We could go with Halta and be Airship pirates!

Perhaps. I had written up a Dawn Caste Archer a while back for a game that fizzled in the first page. I was very disappointed.

*flops* why must you tease me with this.

I wana fly toooo~
