I don't think it's anyone's fault in particular, we all need to keep in mind this is Shroomie's first time hosting on RPN, and perhaps the first time hosting a roleplay/group roleplay in general. Which mean they will make some mistakes or forget to clarify certain rules or aspects of the story. I think specifying on the type of roleplay this is, should help with the confusion and accidental rule breaking, since 'RPG' can mean a wide variety of roleplays.

And if people continue to break the rule, then it is up to Shroomie if they should be kicked.

I'm not really sure. Unintentional impatience, not following the rule. My theory is most of us are probably mistaking this for open world. But we are being guided through the world like DnD style. This probably means people are posting one after another, not realizing were supposed to wait for Shroomie to continue the story.

I made this mistake when first joining, lowkey thought Komaeda and Stenir were going to go off on an adventure together. Just a large Nordic and this random Japanese beanpole he found in a tree, getting into hijinks.

I'm not too sure at this point. For the new people I could say that is the case, but everyone was chill until suddenly Shroomie had some irl stuff come up then things were disregarded. From my understanding, the rp isn't being run DnD style, but given everyone is technically in a huge group quick posts were hard to keep up with, especially for Shroomie since every character was practically mobbing Parsley and Basil, and some were suddenly just sidetracked before there could be any response, plus it happened with Joker as well early on, so they just wanted everyone to wait so people weren't being left behind. They have said once groups break down more, it will be more free iirc, since it'll be less hectic, but this was the current solution for now

I think the confusion mostly stems from the influx of characters and the fact that there's a lot going on at the moment but I imagine things will calm down once the squad are split into groups and we can hopefully have some interactions with characters who are being overlooked.

Everything being said here is very much true for the most part. Ever since I left because of stuff irl things have kinda gone a little wonky. Also this is definitely not open world RP, but it's not exactly the opposite either. It's a weird sort of in-between, as Parsley/Basil are being used as narrators in a way, but they're still characters of their own. Groups will break off and merge back together as the story progresses, so people can experience more casual interactions between characters as well as dramatic/action scenes.

And as for rules, I try to be lenient with people, but perhaps this will be my downfall. I will have to start being more serious about enforcing rules if need be

I kinda had Stenir set up ready to arrive at the Cabin AFTER this cycle so we could figure out which group he'd catch up with, but then I got jumped by two other people.

I knew right away that because I joined late that I couldn't have just inserted Komaeda in the story. It felt like too many introductions had gone on for someone not to notice a standout guy like him without justification. He really doesn't blend into the wall, especially with his height. So, when reading through the post, I notice people were starting in the forest prior to the cabin and thought that would be a great way to have Komaeda step into the story.

Stenir just so happened to also be away from everyone, in the forest and was heading for the cabin, so I went: "Hey, Nordic guy, can you take my son with dementia? He really shouldn't be left to his own devices, thanks." And the way things were going, I thought it would be funny if by the time introductions and choices were made, Stenir and Komaeda were accidently separated from the main group and just end up on an adventure together.

It was Ryza that snuck up on me however, no matter how nice her art skills are, I was not prepared to have another person in the conversation. I thought we were the only ones in that forest, she just appeared.
