Fantasy The War (Players Needed)

( Well, there's barrels of water, stores of food, some knives of the throwing variety, and a bunch of crates that can act as a barricade for the entrance to this room. Also, a small iron barrel that contains Scumble. Just a tip, don't drink it. It will hurt/knock you out/get you super drunk. And I'm not talking the whole barrel. I'm talking a mug. Granted, Ammax is a horse-man, but still...)
Locke was watching the entire freaking time, surprised that he didn't visit the throne room. Also surprised that he lit the forge and started making a blade. It looked kind of impractical to him, but maybe he prefered overly complicated designs instead of the simplicity Locke preferred. He also kind of liked the sword that was thrown in for it's metal. He named it Steve. As Ammax entered the library, he would have also seen a world map spread across the large table in the center of the room. Locke thought he saw Ammax confused while he was looking at books, but maybe he thought the titles were strange. And then Ammax entered Locke's room. He just took a bed from elsewhere and placed it there so he had something to sleep on. And then that was also where he kept food, water, and a small stock of Scumble. That reminded him he needed to restock on Hellfire Ale. Cozy little tavern on the border of the Dark and Fire Kingdoms sells it. Now he was trying to observe from the opposite end of the hall, hanging upside-down, ready to kick Ammax in the face or otherwise distract him if things started going south.

Ammax

(Yer'Sat knows that Locke is there, he is just too lazy to tell Ammax.)

Ammax looked around. There where barrels, crates... Just overall a mess.

Ammax snorted, and walked out.

Locke climbed up the wood quickly not to be spotted

Ammax spotted a shadow moving. He layed the sword down on the bed, and slowly walked out, Yer'Sat folowing him closely. Ammax hummed, spinning his own weapon. He noted he hadn't gone in the throne room. He walked over to it. There was a throne in the center of the room, a few crates here and there, and a slightly run-down, red carpet near the seat. Ammax walked closer to it, noticing the once gold-bathed Iron was chipped off. He chuckled.

As Ammax turned around, he heard the wood on teh ceeling creak. Ammax froze, pointing his weapon upwards.

He then realized Yer'Sat was shrinking away from Ammax.

Ammax rubbed his temples with his free hand.

"Did you know there was something here, and you didn't tell me?"

The Lion shrunk under Ammax's gaze, and the he nodded.

Amma sighed. He looked back up at where the noise came from.

"I know your there... Eh... Locke?"

Ammax looked for any sign of life.

Just as she landed, his blade caught her chest just right under the pendant. Inwardly she was thank for two things. 1. Liches felt no pain. 2. The pendant didn't get broken. With a narrowing of her eyes, Bellatrix would charge him head on, the sword swinging viciously toward his chest, each igniting a fire that cared from one to the next. It was very clear now that she was serious and not merely playful. Her stance had taken a much more comfortable and interesting position, one Uhtred wouldn't recognize. She'd devolped this stance quite some time ago, training secretly without him. She called it The Dragon. It aloud her to be more powerful with each swing while still being aerodynamic and swift. It had taken many year to perfect, but now was the perfect time to test it.

@Skull Knight

(Bit controlling with you directing Locke, but yes, he would have climbed back up double time. Also, if the sword is on Locke's bed, that mean Ammax is using his Great Axe, right?)

Locke moved very quickly once the wood creaked, landing silently on a beam behind Ammax. As he talked to empty space, Locke decided to land behind him quietly, putting his hood down and his hands up. If he was going to live, he needed to think things through. First, he needed to calm Ammax down. "Easy there, big guy." Locke backed away a little. "You're kind of breaking and entering here. This is my home." Locke made slight gestures to the throne room, still backing up slowing, until he sat on the throne. "So why did you come here? Was it talk or did I make the big buff horse angry?" The last line was said in a slightly mocking tone, taunting Ammax a little.

@Supermegabrenda2

Ammax

Ammax snapped around, spotting Locke right behind him. He pressed his Great Axe against the ground. He snorted , choosing to ignore his mocking comment.

"I had no knowledge that this is your house. And no, you did not make the big buff... horse angry." He spat the last sentence out. Ammax looked at the throne.

"Are you the King of this place?" Ammax asked. He looked around. "And where is everyone else?"

Yer'Sat pushed Leck's leg, and jumped on him.

(Heheheh.... Leck. Haha.)

Locke yelped and started squirming. He reached for one of his knives, drawing it and pointing it at Yer'Sat. "Back up there, kitty. Then I can answer some questions." Assuming Yer'sat gets off of Locke and backs away, he stands and begins answering Ammax's questions. "No, I'm not the King. If I was, there would be more people and fewer bandits. And you know as well as I do that the kingdom is in ruins. It FELL. Few survivors. It was more like a massacre."Locke visibly shuddered. Those were bad times, when the sands were red with blood.

However, if Yer'sat does not remove himself from Locke, then he's just pointing a knife at him. Trying to threaten him.

Galandor laughed at Elsbeth's tone. She was undoubtedly scared out of her wits. He clutched the reins, and the griffon reduced his speed. "I plan to. She probably still has some higher issues to solve, and I plan on going there on this outfit. See her through the eyes of a commoner, you know." The green plains below started to make way to a dark swamp, its muddy waters the proof they were nearing thr Dark Kingdom. "We have arrived. If I'm not mistaken, hellhounds shelter themselves in the Hellfire Forges. Fitting to their name, i suppose. We are going to go there by feet. We'll go to the town and leave our steed in good care, I don't want to hurt him." He patted the head of the griffon and the monster gave a pleased screech. "Brace yourself, we're going to land." The Griffon slowed considerably, then started the descent. Slowly but surely, the griffon landed with a sound 'Thud'. "You can let go of me now." He said while smiling.
Clutching him even tighter as they landed, Elsbeth breathed a sigh of relief, before letting go of Galandor in a bit of a frantic motion, almost falling off the griffon accidentally. "A-ah, yeah! Right, right..." she stuttered, climbing off the griffon swiftly. It was obvious that, under her helm, she was blushing profusely - Being so scared of something so easily was nothing but an embarrassment to her. Taking a couple long moments to compose, she had finally regained her confidence. Surveying the area, Elsbeth felt that nothing had been here in a long while; Or at least, anything normal. Beginning to understand their location, she pointed in a rough direction, which led further into the bog. "Town's roughly in that direction, so I hope you don't mind going deeper into this damned swamp. Not that we have any choice, though, Archwell." she stated, trudging slightly further in herself. She simply hoped the town didn't stray too far from the border.

Durrga stumbled as he was surprised by Saij's mother coming out of the tent, he knew it was her by her voice and the way she smelled, not a dirty smell but a smell of herbs that was pleasing to to smell. "My travels where good, i found what I was looking for," Durrga said as he patted the large scroll strapped to his back, "i apologize for not telling you that i was leaving...but i an not as helpless as many seem to think" Durrga said with a small smile crossing his face. "I believe i heard you say something about kneading some herbs? i will let you get back to it" Durrga said as he gave a small bow before proceeding inside to Saij tent.

@Mmetafour

Saij was now laying on the uncurled sleeping bag, on his back, facing away from the entrance. He was using wind to manipulate a small box full of holes, an ancient toy that children who could manipulate wind used to practice their control. People were supposed to create streams of air through the holes such that the sound coming through was harmonious and pleasing to the ear. I was perfect for practicing accuracy rather than pure power. Unfortunately, perhaps because of today's earlier events, or maybe a lack of practice, Saij wasn't doing well. The little box hummed dissonantly in his hands as he eyed it with a frown, clearly deep in thought. The boy didn't even notice as Durrga entered his tent, simply staying in place as the box changed uncomfortable notes.

@Killorkiller

Durrga saw that Saij was lost in thought and play with a wind box. Smiling, Durrga manipulated the air and made it sing a better toon, "well i can see that you have a rough day" Durrga said as he walked over to where Saij was sitting and sat down next to him. "Do you care to talk about it?" Durrga asked as he laid his staff on his legs length wise, thinking that there had to be an explanation for the way Saij was acting

@Mmetafour

"oh Durrga!" Saij sat up, clutching the box as it went silent "I didn't know you'd be back so soon..." he turned to face the blind man, crossing his legs and smiling a bit. "my day was....fine...we just..met someone in the desert and now Sara is a little upset with me" he shrugged modestly. "I'm sure it'll blow over" He said as the tent's walls begin to move a bit faster, certainly a sandstorm was coming soon. Saij looked over at him, gently placing the cube on his head, being silly. "So how was your day? that scroll is new" He smiles, trying to keep the box on his head steady.

@Killorkiller

"Well i hope that whatever happened will blow over, we dont need more trouble." Durrga said in a grimish tone as he "looked" and Saij. "Yes, this scroll is... well lets just say that i need something you have and i dont" Durrga said as he unstrapped the scroll from his back and swung it in front oh him on to his lap. In truth, this scroll was something that Durrga's clan had been entrusted with to protect, it was a very powerful artifact and could, change that way things where going for what was left of the Air Kingdom. "This scroll, could, give us the power to take back our kingdom, unfortunately as i can not see, i also can not dicier its secrets" Durrga said as he "gazed" at the scroll deep in thought.

@Mmetafour

"okay" he nods and looks at the rolled parchment "roll it out and we'll see what we're dealing with here" He said, getting more comfortable as he took the cube off his head and sat it on the rug next to his sleeping bag. "It may take a little while for me to decipher if its ancient text...but I'll get it done" He nodded "If its some fantastical power, I'm sure it would be very useful"

Ammax

((Oh God! Im sorry I got confused xD ))

Ammax watches as he points the knife at Yer'Sat. The Lion is watching him with a confused look. Ammax snorted, and Yer'Sat walked over to Ammax. He said.

"Yes, terrible times. I watched my whole kind get massacred by those ((whoever attacked the Air Kingdom)). I was 5 in human years. 14 in Ipotane. They locked me up in a cage with a Lion." Ammax glanced at Yer'Sat.

If Locke is still holding up the dagger, Ammax would snatch it out of his hands, and notice it wasent the sharpest of them all. He hummed silently, and walked over to the forge.

"A swamp is nothing to be afraid of, my lord. The problem is what lurks into them." They started treading forward. The swamp was the same since the last time they were here. The eternal shroud of clouds in the sky loomed ominously above the travelers as they walked through the swamp, warily. Fortunately, the purple domed town was met without any conflict. Galandor looked down to his greaves, now soiled with mud and dirty water, sighing. "This armor was brand new..." They passed through the dome, feelign a shiver of the magic etched in their hearts. "Back to Quaani. I didn't think I'd be back so soon." They crossed the market and reached the stables, where they left the dirty griffon to be taken care of. "Now, let's go. Get ready though, I believe several monsters lurk around the Hellfire Forges." He started walking. "So, my lord, can you tell me more about yourself? Your preferences, and adventures in the Air Kingdom. I love stories."

(It's cool. These things happen.)

"Well then. That's just fantastic" Then Ammax snatches the knife away. "Hey! You could have asked first! What are you going to do, make another knife?" Locke started following Ammax, getting increasingly irritated. "Oh yeah, just ignore me. Fantasic. And you're going in the forge. What are you going to do, find more metal and make another sword? Is one just not enough for you?" Locke is completely oblivious to any possible benefits of Ammax going into the forge with one of his throwing knives.

Ammax

((Put a picture in your next post of the Ideal throwing knife for Locke, Ammax's knife that he made will be similar.))

Ammax entered the Forge.

"A throwing knife, eh? Ill make it better for you, consider this a favour..."

Ammax carefully removed the handle, and If Locke is trying to aproach him, he is shoving him away with his Hoof.

Ammax melted the Iron, and took a random, small dagger laying around and melted it too. He pounded the metal, shaping it. He hummed, and moved his head to the rythm of the tune he hummed.

Several minutes later, the knife was done. It looked pretty simple to him, just a throwing knife. But to Locke, it could be anything else. Ammax carefully cleaned the handle, and made it look nice and new. He put it with the blade, and spun it around. Locke might not have heard the noise, but to Ammax, the little 'whoosh' the knife made was music to his ears.

Ammax handed Locke the knife, and if it was rusty or dirty, it was now polished, and clear of any hints of rust.

She had winced slightly as her own new armour had been brought to such grime pretty much hours after first receiving it. Pressing on despite the tragedy, she listened intently to Archwell, and began considering his question. "Preferences? ...well, I always prefer sharp weapons over blunt, my favourite thing to drink is red wine, felines over canines. How I swing is... my own business." she ranted off, pausing for a moment before continuing to talk. "And stories? ...well, I have one about a group of bandits called the Mudsail Raiders, if you wish to hear it. Interesting bunch, they were...". As she began, Elsbeth unsheathed Apollo from its' scabbard, her arm movement forcing her cloak to blow out in the wind. "...See, they were the usual bunch. Thugs, wanted to go against authority and live by 'their own rules'... but, their equipment certainly wasn't the best - made from tin, or bronze. Their weapons were blunt as anything! Moving on, I had an encounter with these tin men a year or two back, to a rather surprising degree of success. Taking them down one by one, I had found myself in front of their leader before any time at all. He wielded one of the largest blades I had ever seen at the time, but he was over his head, to say the least; It took him way too long to even recover from swinging the weapon. So I had decided to mess with him a bit, wear him down. I countered every single one of his swings for a while, and unbeknownst to me, his weapon was getting worse for wear. So, one of his swings ended up backfiring, you see. The tip of his blade broke off and hit him on the side of the head, knocking him out cold! I could swear he was out for a long while, but I left before I could see.". Elsbeth caught her breath, before turning herself back to Archwell. "...I guess it wasn't that interesting in retrospective, though. Perhaps my years in the sands were more boring than I thought..."

Locke twirls the knife satisfied with it's weight. Honestly he's impressed. This is a very nice, simple throwing knife. Good balance, sharp edges, that ding on the tip is gone. "Huh. Uh, thanks Ammax. You do good work." Locke sheathed the knife, facing down Ammax. "So, you just gonna go back on your patrol or are you gonna stay here for a bit? Also, there are a group of nomads wandering the place. The ones I met were nice people. So don't mess with them. Please."

Em stood from her seat at the table and bowed to the queen and the duke, red curls falling into her face, before exiting the room. With a passive wave of her hand, Murc's invisibility was gone and the lizard thing glided up to perch on her shoulder. Once out in the hallway, she asked a guard where she might practice combat and was directed to a small courtyard off of the main garden. She thanked the guard and waited for him to leave before clicking her tongue for her friend to hop down. By now the pendant was fully cracked and the glamour was ineffective. She unclasped the necklace, a shockwave of magic going through the clearing, and rested the necklace on a stone bench beside Murc, who pawed at it cautiously. "It's not like it will hurt you," she muttered. "It's not a cap anymore." Arcane magic flowing off of the mage in waves, she took a deep breath and released it, her chest feeling like it was just released from a corset, the weight of the now-broken talisman's restraining net gone. Em couldn't remember the last time her magic was so free and upon opening her eyes, the irises glowed a vibrant blue. She waved her hand and in it kindled a flickering mass of arcane magic. With another flick, the spell sizzled through the air and cracked against one of the stone pillars around the training clearing. The pillar shattered but before any of the pieces could go flying, the spell rebounded on itself and the pillar flew back together. Em smiled and let out a light laugh before whirling around once more, a web of magic forming around her. The air in the clearing shimmered and around her every shape was outlined with a quivering blue glow. She sat down in the air and lingered there, her feet a few inches off the ground, on an invisible chair made of the floating magic. Closing her eyes, she rested there as she would on a hammock.

Ammax

Ammax nodded.

"Yes, yes... I will just... Pay them a visit..."

Ammax walked out, Yer'Sat following him.

Ammax's wings sprouted again, and in moments he was up in the air. Yer'Sat looked back at where Locke was, and took off behind Ammax.

(@Mmetafour or anyone near the camp, If you are in the nomad camp, you might see/hear this. And, by the way, What does the camp look like??)

Ammax whistled while he flew over the Nomad camp. He stopped whisltling. Wrapping his hands and wings around himself, he braced for impact. Yer'Sat landed gracefully, while Ammax landed with a loud thud, and dust flying up into the air. He grunted quietly, his wings aching.

Ammax's wings flopped to the side, and he stood up.

"I'll leave my wings out, it'll hurt to recoil them."

His wings were folded back, them reaching down to his knee. He looked around. Pretty calm place... Ammax began walking around.

(Its a camp of tents, probably 30-40 of them set up close to each other, just regular white tents, y'know THIS sorta deal. There were kids playing and people walking around until y'know....a horse man fell from the sky hahahaha)

'pretty calm' would be the last words used to describe the state of uproar caused by the horse man and his lion suddenly slamming into the center of the large camp, kicking up dust and sand onto nearby tents and causing women and children to scream in panic and fright as they flee from the immediate area, deeper into the camp. Nomads grabbed their belongings and rushed into tents hoping to stay safe as some men grabbed swords to defend the camp, quickly rushing to Ammax to try and surround him and Yer'sat.

The commotion startles Saij who was about to look at the scroll, prompting him to hop up at the frantic screams of his people outside. He grabbed his sheathed sword swiftly, flying out of his tent, expecting a sudden ambush from a group of bandits, but is surprised when all he sees is the horse man and the lion. It only took him a few moments to connect the dots about the "guardian of the desert" that bandits speak of on occasion. Still holding the ancient sheathed sword, he calmed considerably, walking to the shaken men. "Men...its alright..." he said somewhat cautiously "this is Ammax....guardian of the Air kingdom, he means us no harm" Saij, held his hand out, lowering the spear of one of the nomad men by him as he looked up at Ammax and the other men began to follow suit, somewhat confused but trusting their leader.

Locke watches Ammax leave before realizing that he may have made a huge mistake. "Oh, this can not be good." Locke grabbed that magnifying tube thingy (read:spyglass) and flew off after Ammax, landing on one of the Kingdom's walls and using the tube to see farther, then he realized he was looking in the wrong end and turned it around. As he saw Ammax... land wasn't the right word. Collide with the ground was more appropriate. Anyways, he saw the panic caused by the sudden crash landing of a very large horse-man with wings. "Fantastic, do I need to clean up my own mess now?" He kept watching, seeing Saij emerge from his tent and start calming the nomads down. "OK, let's see how this plays out..." Locke was only going to involve himself in this if it was necessary. And/or if he thought it would be funny.

Ammax

Ammax stiffled a laugh at the disturbe he had caused.

Yer'Sat was nudging the soldiers, and once in a while licked their face.

Ammax looked down at the man's hand streatched out. He took it, and shook his hand with a firm grip. It might have left a bruise. Ammax asked.

"What is your name? And how do you know my name?"

With a loud 'whoosh', followed by a thud, Yer'Sat tackled Saij, and began licking his face.

"... And this is Yer'Sat, by the way."
