The Secret

Akira smiled as she turned over and looked at him. She playfully blew him a kiss as she ran a hand through her hair in order to push it out of her face.

Zachary drifted off to sleep and then woke up the following morning. He stood up and stretched lightly. He lightly scratches behind his ear with his paw and began to clean himself.

She fell asleep as well but woke up a bit after he did. She stretched and yawned softly as she watche'd him with curiosity. "Morning cutie," she said with a smile as she looked at him and laughed.

Zachary looks up at her with a little wolfie smile as his tail wagged. He soon began to chaise it, bounding around with cheerfulness.

She laughed as she watched him and crawled over to him. She kissed his head and stood up. "I'm gonna go get a shower," she said with a small smile and ran a hand across his fur before heading upstairs.

He nods lightly and then watches her go upstairs. He waited downstairs, laying over the fluffy rug playfully with a few soft snuffles. He looks over at the fire which was still crackling lightly.

She soon came back down dressed in a skirt and a simple tshirt. She leaned down and made sure her converse were tied before standing up. Running a hand through her hair, she smiled as the slight curls bounced over her shoulders.

Zachary had hopped up onto the sofa by the window and was currently standing up, facing it. He watches as cars sped past with his tail wagging lightly. From where he lived in the depths of the forest with the rest of the pack her rarely saw any traffic or people passing by.

Akira walked over to him and gently pet his fur. "I people watch sometimes," she said softly as she leaned down and kissed his head. "Who's the girl?" She asked suddenly as she looked at him, her voice holding slight jealousy as she looked at him.

(Ah okay)

Zachary seemed confused and then he saw it. He noticed that Mimi was across the street, searching for him. He sighs lightly, she must've caught his scent. He quickly backed away from the window before she saw him and sat on the fluffy rug again, looking down slightly.

Akira followed him and sat down beside him. "Who is she?" She asked softly as she pet him gently and frowned. "I don't like her but I want to know," she said quietly.

Zachary switches into his human form and looks to her. "She's nothing like my girlfriend or anything, she just thinks she is. Since I'm only a year older than her she seems to really like me considering that I'm in her age group. She's had her heart set on marrying me ever since she saw me, they've been planning a wedding and everything but I don't have much approval on it I guess. She goes to a girl academy not far from here, but she's going to transfer to our school soon since she had convinced her parents to do so" He explains to her with a light shrug.

Akira clenched her jaw and hugged him gently. "Well no ones marrying anyone if I have anything to say about it....do you want to marry her?" She asked quietly. The words hurt her but she knew she had to ask him.

Zachary shrugs lightly. "I've never really thought about it before but probably not, she's much too clingy" He says and nuzzles her lightly. He hoped that Mimi would take it softly when he declined the marriage - Whenever that was.

Akira laid her head on his and sighed softly. "Well you've gotta tell her that or she's not gonna stop. given the was she was looking at me yesterday she would probably think it was my fault but that's her problem," she said as she gently ran her hand up and down his back.

Zachary nods. Over the next few weeks Mimi was transferred into their school, she was also in the same class as Akira and himself. She would often cling to him and try to make Akira feel jealous. It was quite of a love triangle and it could be complicated at times. He felt as if she was taking Akira away from him but he knew for sure that nothing would get in the way of their friendship, not even a large bulldozer could manage to break them apart.

Akira forced herself to keep calm and knew what Mimi was trying to do. At the end of the school of Friday, she put her things in her locker and decided to prove that their friendship was as strong as ever. She silently walked to Zachary's locker and smiled slightly. "I was wondering if you wanted to spend the night tonight. I got some movies and I don't want to watch them alone," she said as she looked up at him calmly.

Mimi slammed her locker in disgust and got between them. "Hey Zachy! I was wondering if you wanted to see a movie tonight, we could go ice skating, go watch a football match or you could sleep in my den tonight! I know you'll like that, won't you?" She suggests with a soft giggle.

Akira rolled her eyes slightly and sighed softly. "Look I don't know what the hell your problem is but I'm not fighting for something that's not even mine," she said as she looked at her before looking up at Zach. "I'm not smothering you like some people and I'm not forcing you to say yes. I just wanted to know if you wanted to hang out and watch some movies tonight," she said simply as she ran a hand through her hair calmly.

Mimi look to him with pleading eyes. "I wanna go out with you though" She whines. "Pleasie?" She says softly as she pouts.

Zachary hesitates but smiles gently. "Maybe another time? Over the weekend? I wanna go out with Akira tonight" He says gently.

Akira silently let out a small sigh of relief and smiled softly. She knew that over the summer and the past few weeks especially, she had began having stronger feelings for Zach but she decided to keep quiet for now. "I'll see you later. I gotta stop by the store and grab some things before I head home," she said with a smile. She instinctively moved around Mimi and gave him a gentle hug before turning and beginning to head towards the doors at the front of the school.

Zach smiles and then hugged her back. He started to get ready for staying over at his house, getting a few things from his den and then starting to head there. After about an hour he started to head there, he knocks on her door lightly.

Akira had gone to the store and bought some small snacks before heading to her house. When she arrived, she changed into a pair of shorts and a tank top before putting her hair up in a ponytail, leaving a couple of pieces of hair down by her ears. She went into the kitchen and put the snacks in bowls before beginning to make a pizza, something she hadn't done in forever. Just as she took it out, she heard a knock on the door and ran over with a smile as she opened it, letting him in. "Hey," she said, suddenly feeling happier that he had chosen to hang out with her. If he had chosen Mimi, she probably would have sulked in her room with all the lights off and soft music playing. The thought made her laugh lightly as she headed back into the kitchen.
