Fantasy The Return of Corruption
"I don't know, Bailey. I really don't." Tyr said, as he pulled a bible out from underneath his back. "You know, after five years, I would have thought that you would have realized, that no matter what the situation is, I will always find a way to fall on my ass."
A wooden spoon came flying out of nowhere, and hit the bard in the face.

"WHAT THE HE-" Tyr stopped himself before he got in any more trouble. "What the heck?!"
Bailey laughed, "Wow, alright come on." She stuck her hand out. "Ya know, why does he choose wooden spoons instead of a metal one?"

"I want it to be real." Katherine said softly but a bit angrily. She didn't glance at him when she spoke, she saw the candlelight and continued at a quicker pace towards it. She was filled with fury, and determination, she wanted to see Cross again, see Arabelle.

"Who stirs food with a metal spoon?" Tyr said, taking her hand and pulling himself up. "I love you, you know that?" Tyr said with a smile. "Maybe when this is all over, you and I could go take a vacation. Maybe to some nice beach town." Tyr spun Bailey around like a ballroom dancer, before pulling her in at the waist. "Sound good?"

"That sounds wonderful," Bailey said with a grin. "I love you too." She kissed his cheek, then Alex ran over and hugged both of their legs, "Don't forget me!"

Tyr picked his son up and set him on one of his shoulders. "We could never forget about our little warrior, could we? When we beat this guy, we are gonna go out and have some fun!"

Alex's face lit up, "Really? What are we gonna do?!" He asked excitedly. Bailey chuckled, "That's a suprise, but let's say it's a late birthday present from daddy."

"Hey Alex, could you let mommy and I talk alone for a bit? Maybe you can go over and talk to Aunt Arabelle and Uncle Ari."

"Ok," Alex said, then climbed off Tyr's shpulder. As he ran off to go do something, Bailey looked at him, "Is something wrong?"

"Wait no!"

As soon as she stepped out of the light of Sepentireons staff, the sounds of screeches could be heard in the darkness. Creatures rushed towards Katherine in the darkness, invisible inside the pitch black. They leaped at her, aiming to tackle her to the ground. They were formless, shapeless, and powerful beyond measure.

Tyr let out a sad sigh and sat down on a pew. "Yeah. Bailey, as much as I love staying with you and Alex, I'm afraid that I can't live a normal life with you two. I'm afraid of the future." Tyr grabbed at Bailey's hand. He was starting to well up in tears. "Bailey, what are we going to do? who is going to hire a bard who'll break down into tears because he heard a loud sound? The only thing that was paying for you guys is me being in the army, and I can't even do that anymore. I don't want Alex to grow up like I did, Bailey. I don't want him to have nights were he has to go hungry."

Katherine had smelled them before she could react, luckily she still had her sword out, she shot a creature out if the air and began skillfully fighting of the rest with her sword, making sure she stayed up.

Bailey felt nervous, like he was about to drop a bomb that she wasn't prepared for. She didn't like what he was saying. Her heart sped up, and she felt her stomach drop. "T-Tyr, you don't have to worry," She said shakily. "I'll make sure that doesn't happen to us. I get paid well enough, and I'm sure there something in Loudwater you can do without triggering anything."

"We can't pretend that things will be okay forever, Bailey." Tyr said as a tear slid down his cheek. "I-I'm afraid I'm going to have to go back into the army to support you two."

"No, I'm not gonna a let you!" She said, her voice cracking. "Me and Alex already lost you once, we can't lose you again," She looked down, "Please..."

Tyr grabbed Bailey by the shoulders and looked her in the eyes. "Bailey, I love you more than the world. I really do. But I don't want to have you and Alex suffer. I don't want to go either, but if I can't find some way to feed our family, I'll have no choice."

Tears rolled down her cheeks, this next sentence was going to be hard to say. "I-if you rejoin the army,"she took a shaky breath, "Don't come back."

Katherine was swinging at darkness. Whatever she hit was wood and dead branches. She could hear devilish laughs as something pranced around her. Suddenly, something resembling a knife would slice across her back. The laughs grew louder.

Arabelle heard this conversation as her hearing had heightened. She went down to them. "I don't mean to interrupt. Actually, I do. Tyr, you don't have to fight. Ari and I have more than enough money, and I'll find a job to help you guys. You and Bailey have done so much for me, I would do anything to keep you two happy and together. Don't you dare reject my help. You're getting it, no matter what."

Tyr was utterly crushed. He simply stood up, looked at Bailey and Arabelle and took a deep breath. "I-I need some time alone." The bard said, his voice shaking. He turned around, walked out of the church. He couldn't handle this. He needed to leave.

Arabelle frowned and wanted to go after him. She followed him out. "Tyr…" she called after him softly. "Please don't go. At least don't go alone, it's not safe out here."

Bailey just stood there for a second, wishing she hadn't said that. She then went to the kitchen to find any booze. She found some scotch, opened it, and sat on the floor taking a long drink from the bottle.

"J-just leave me alone, Arabelle." Tyr said shakily, in a tone that bordered on a sob. "I need to be alone." Tyr spun around to face Arabelle. If she was holding the sword, she would be able to see his face. His eyes were bloodshot and his cheeks wet with tears. He looked as if he was in sheer and utter pain. "I wouldn't expect you to understand. So please, just leave me be." Tyr circled around the adventurer and head straight into the cemetery, eventually disappearing into the fog.

Ari stayed silent throughout all of their little exchange. It really wasn't any of his business, or at least it shouldn't be. Arabelle took off after Tyr

Ari went in with Bailey. "Oi. Not here as my usual self. You threw the man into an existential crisis."
