Fantasy The Random Hotel

Ezekiel glanced to Artemis before looking back at Sha'tana. "As I said, with the main ingredients.. There will still be a chance.. For something bad too happen. But with a optional fourth there is no way it can fail.. The roof is just going to have some carvings.. That are going to be permanent.. " Ezekiel looked up at the building again. "Not a lot go up on the roof anyway, most will just think it's art?" Ezekiel sighed,

"But really it's up to you Sha'tana... The fourth ingredient is already ready. I do believe I have.. Some angel blood. Demon blood is enough from just a little prick on your finger. So all I need is a high place which is your hotel. 100% I promise."

Caspian was in the TV room of the hotel. To him, it didn't really make much sense to make a TV room in the hotel if there are TVs already in the rooms of the hotel. "Well, better put this place to use.." he said to himself. He grabbed a controller, sat on the couch and skimmed through the channels. He stopped on the Discovery Channel. He liked hearing information on sea creatures. The channel he was currently explaining that clever dolphins hunt together. Caspian rolled his eyes... duh!

Sha'tana smiled at Casey, "That's true, but I don't want to distress my hotel guests over my family issues." She gave Casey a pat on the shoulder, "I know you like battling, but not all my guest are like you."

"I don't like battling. I just hate demons that manage to insult everything I like in a few sentences."

Casey really did hate them. Revenge would be sweet to her. But mostly, the reason she expressed confidence was simply because she was confident.

Artemis asked him: "Do you promise to come back alive?"

Ezekiel turned to face Artemis, surprised by her question. "..Yeah I promise.." He grinned. "They say legends never die, aren't I a living example?" His face turned serious again as he looked over to Sha'tana. "But, it's your choice whether you want me to do this, or let your family come with an army."

Sha'tana gave Ezekial her hand face up, "I guess I'm going to have to trust you." He did say 100%. That sounds pretty good since he's making it seem that there's no chance at all for him to f*ck up. "Don't blow it." She looked around. "Have anything to cut me with?" She looked at the knife on the table, "I could cut myself, but I'm not using the utensils my guests eat with."

Artemis produced a dagger from somewhere in her clothing. "Why don't you use this, Sha'tana? It isn't silver or anything like that, so it shouldn't have an adverse effect."

Ezekiel nodded to Artemis. "You seem to carry your weaponry everywhere too.. Hehe." He picks out from his suit a small vial. "Just a few drops is needed. Nothing special." Ezekiel took a crumbled piece of paper from his backpocket and read it a bit before putting it back. "Meet me at the roof. I'll be getting the other.. Ingredients." Ezekiel waved and quickly left for his room.

Artemis was confused. Why would he need to remark on it? That was only a small dagger. She didn't think he knew about the really hardcore stuff she always carried with her.

Casey just facepalmed when she saw the look on Artemis's face.

Sha'tana laughed, "I'm not a werewolf." She took the dagger and the vial. "I guess that means no rush?" She stood up and bowed to her guest, "Excuse me." She decided to prick herself in the comfort of her room. Who likes to be stared at while you're attempting to hurt yourself, "I'll give this back, promise." She said to Artemis and looked at Casey oddly as she placed her face into her palms.

Ezekiel had already moved himself up on the roof. He had also changed to his standard attire of a white shirt and dusty trenchcoat.

Those that came up could easily notice the large circle he was drawing within the middle of it were a bottle of pure red color. and a small hourglass. "Alright.. That should be it.."

Ezekiel walked around checking the drawing. "Everything seem to be correct.."

Sha'tana was on her way to her room. As she neared the lobby, she hoped to see Hex. She looked up and around the ceiling. There was no sign of him. She sighed. She continued on to her room. Finally, she entered her room and went straight to the bathroom. She neatly placed the vial and the dagger on the counter. She grabbed some toilet paper, placed it neatly folded on the counter as well. Without hesitation, she pricked her thumb and squeezed a few drops of blood into the vial. She grabbed the toilet paper and dried the blood on her finger. The wound healed by the time she decided to analyze it.

Sha'tana took a shortcut up to the roof. "Nice drawing," she handed Ezekial the dagger and the vial. "Give this to your girlfriend for me," she said with a sly smile. "Keep me updated." She took the shortcut back to her room and sat on her bed. Her mind was drawing a blank. She didn't know what to do next. She decided to lay down and close her eyes for a bit.

Casey and Artemis were left alone. Artemis started a small conversation with Casey:

"By the way, Casey, just what are you? I mean, you don't seem human, and no offense, but you dress strangely."

Casey didn't take offense, as Djinn dress styles were what one might consider strange. She replied: "I'm a Djinn."

Artemis had heard of Djinn, but they were not considered a big threat, as they mostly kept themselves to themselves. Few hunters specialized in them, and Artemis was not one of them. Usually, they were hunted by a few specialists, due to their strange nature. And not all Djinn were hunted. They had their good members and their evil members, just like humanity.

Artemis asked: "Djinn... what are they, again? I'm not trying to be disrespectful, I just don't remember."

Casey said: "No disrespect taken. Djinn are one of the three traditional free-willed races, the other two being humans and angels. We are made out of smokeless fire, and have powers over fire. We also have the ability to quickly travel distances and between planes."

Artemis noticed something. "So, you can travel anywhere?"

Casey nodded.

Artemis said: "Can I ask you a favor? Could you transport me to the roof? I need to give Ezekiel something before he goes."

Casey responded: "Sure, but you have to play Magic: the Gathering with me afterwards."

Artemis didn't know what Magic: the Gathering was, but it sounded interesting. She nodded, Casey grabbed her hand, and whirlwinded them both to the roof.

"Descensus Averno facilis est." Ezekiel repeated the line for a moment. He was interrupted as he saw a djinn, huh those are rare around these parts..Are they not? Ezekiel turned to Artemis who had been brought with the magical being.

"Artemis, oh yeah here." Ezekiel handed Artemis the knife. "So Artemis.. Who is your friend? Actually the introduction can wait.. Time is of the essence.." Ezekiel nodded to himself. "Is there any reasons why you came?"

The dining hall was eerily quiet as Emilia pushed the double doors open. The dining hall's decor was exquisite but it all had an ancient feel to it, as if one touch could bring it crumbling down. She picked her way through the tables to the counter where she imagined she would have to order.. That being said, this was a restaurant, not a fast food place. Maybe she was just supposed to sit down and take a look at the menu.

Gingerly, she sat down at the nearest table. She felt wrong here - what was a low class girl like her doing sitting in a classy place like this? She picked up a tiny fork at her right. She had never learned to eat food properly with a simple knife and fork, and she was completely lost when it came to all the extra cutlery that cluttered up the table. A light cough came from her right. Emilia's heart leapt to her throat but she managed to calmly turn around to face the newcomer.

"Holy sh*t." It was an automaton. She stood up and violently pushed herself away from the table, knocking the chair down in the process. She swore again. She looked around. No one was there. Slowly, she backed away from the automaton with the flashing words and numbers on its face. It wasn't moving towards her, but Emilia knew that it could move with lightning speed. All of a sudden, she missed the feel of a pistol in her hand.

"Yes. I wanted to give you something."

Artemis took off a necklace she had. It was simple, a smallish diamond on a moderately-sized silver chain. "Take this, it'll help you."

Ezekiel stared on the necklace before shifting his attention to Artemis. "I.." Ezekiel takes the necklace and holds it up. "..Thanks.. Artemis.."

He shifted the necklace between his hands before putting it in his front pocket. "I'll treasure it, and again I will come back. One way or the other.." Ezekiel smiled. "So don't you worry about an old fool like me. If I wasn't good at what I'm doing I would have been dead a long time ago." Ezekiel stood still for a moment before taking a step forward and hugged Artemis. He let go off her again and went to the middel of the circle. "Solomons key. The descent into Hell is easy." He turned quickly and smiled to Artemis. "Ave Atque Vale, hail and farewell."

The circle cracked open in the middle, throwing Ezekiel down the hole. Shortly after the cracks vanished and only soot that formed the circle was back. Although in the middle a single feather remained.

Artemis facepalmed. "Argh... that idiot." she moaned.

Casey asked: "Okay, so what happened?"

Artemis explained to her: "Dolt didn't let me explain to him how the dratted thing works. It's not going to be helping him now! What I gave him was a transformed Geas-blade, called Vigilant. All he had to do was hold the necklace and say: "One righteous needs your skills", and it would transform into its sword form, and he could say "the need is ended" to transform it back into a necklace. Geas-blades give the wielder incredible skill with using them, as long as certain conditions are met. Vigilant, for instance, will not allow itself to be used for an unrighteous cause. He could have used that blade!"

Casey was surprised. "So... you usually wear a Geas-blade necklace as well as daggers, and that sword you entered with? Don't you think that's a bit much?"

Artemis shrugged. "Eh, that's nothing. I have nuclear launch codes in my sock."

Casey couldn't tell whether she was kidding or not. She hoped that Artemis was kidding.

Artemis looked at her and asked: "Anyways, this Magic: the Gathering business. Shall we play?"

Casey nodded, smiled, and whirlwinded herself and Artemis to her room, where they picked decks, and then to the card room, where they started playing, once Casey explained the rules.

It was just 10 when she got to her room, and it was open and ready to use. She hardly remembered getting in or getting undressed, but before she knew it she was under the covers and asleep.
Emilia slept a deep dreamless sleep through the day. She woke up just as the sun was sinking below the horizon. She blinked a couple times and contemplated just laying there for the rest of the night. But no, she was curious now about the hotel. And at night was the perfect time to look around. No one would notice her. Then she could pay the fare in the early morning when everyone was still asleep and run further north. Read a newspaper. Find out if anyone suspected her for..that night.

She pushed the covers off and stood up. A cramp in her stomach made her sit down abruptly. She groaned. She hadn't eaten since.. breakfast, the day before. She slipped back into her dirty clothes, grimacing. She wanted to have a long, hot bath so badly, but she wanted to eat more. Time enough to get the dirt of the long journey during the night. It's not like first impressions counted when you were leaving the next day.. right?

Emilia walked back down the staircase to the lobby, waved a little to Gu who didn't respond, and found her way back to the dining hall with help of the map Caspian gave her earlier. She wondered if she'd see him again before leaving...although it would be better, perhaps, she reflected, that she didn't see him again. She didn't want anyone to remember her face.

Caspian was still in the television room watching dolphin ecology. Caspian surprisingly understood the clicking noises of the dolphins. He laughed aloud, "He called him an idiot!" Caspian stood up suddenly when he heard an 'Oh sh*t,' followed by the toppling noise made when running into furniture. "Woah! What was that?" He went in the direction of the noise and found Emilia nearly on the floor, staring frightfully at a maid. "You haven't ran into the maids of the hotel yet?" Robot 44 stood still, unsure how to respond. "Its okay, 44. I got this." He went over to help Emilia up, "She's not going to do anything to you." He said trying to calm her down.

Sha'tana was in bed. She has done most of her job today, so she's just relaxing in her room, reading a book. She was reading The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks. She was at the end of the book. Her eyes were tearing up. "So cruel, so cruel," she said to herself and she flipped onto her stomach and continued reading attentively. Nothing was going to pull her away from her reading. Nothing. Not even Hex.

Ryu walks out of his room, heading downstairs quietly. He hadn't come out of his room for a while....mainly because he was lazy and didn't feel like getting up, but now he wanted to go get a bite to eat. "I wonder what kind of food they have here~" he smiles as he mumbles to himself, stuffing his hands into his pockets.

Sha'tana coincidentally left her room at the same time as Ryu. As she made a turn at the corner into the lobby, she bumped into him. "Oh, so terribly sorry." She heard him speaking to himself before she ran into him. It was related to food, "Well, my restaurant offers just about anything" she said with a smile. "From normal to strange food. If you don't see it on the menu, just ask."

Sha'tana laughed at Ryu's statement. "Be careful what you ask for. You just might get it," she gave Ryu a wink and waved off at him. "See ya later. I'm quite the busy woman." She went up to Gu and spoke to him of events that might occur soon in the hotel. "Ezekial is performing a strange ritual upstairs. Please have all robots on their toes for any possible mishap." Gu nodded frightfully.

He nods and waves goodbye as he heads to the resturaunts. He softly sings, which he was pretty good at, as he walks. His purple eyes scanned the area

Sha'tana finished her urgent talk with Gu and decided to join Ryu at the restaurant. She noticed him scanning the area, "Looking for someone?" She asked. She looked around to in attempt to assist him, even though she's not sure what he's looking for. "Mind if I join you for... lunch or dinner?" She wasn't certain what time it was, but she definitely was hungry. Reading romance stories throws you off in regards to coordination of time.

Sha'tana never seen a man wait for her to sit first. She tilted her head while arching a brow... strange. She thought... It must be a human thing. She hat down. Sha'tana waved for her robot to come over, "78? Did you change shifts with 43?" 78 nodded her head. "Why was I not notified? If she can't do her job, I need to know." 78 bowed her head, a bit ashamed. "43 does not like Doctor." Sha'tana sighed. "I want drink #102," this was her code for blood. 78 awaited for Ryu's choice of drink.
