Fantasy The Ninth Realm

Lyza Miorid

A flash of light drawn from the sky intrigued Lyza, capturing her attention as the strokes of light destroyed the land, and the people with it she was sure. That must be where the star pupil of Cross-Light was, Lyza giggled as she remembered the girl, so open and friendly only to turn savage and beastly. Being far from popular in her school, Lyza's power was unknown to many, surly not as strong as Eri's but stronger than most.

Naturally she had kept away from people, a side effect of her solitary childhood, even up to now the only creatures she had been close to were animals, though really all of them were considered animals now. But cats in particular as they had their way of finding her even within this savage war. Fortunately for her, when her father had forced her into being independent, she had gained much knowledge in how to survive without the 'givens' like food and water.

For now she simply lived with the thoughts of what could go wrong next, like a poisoned water supply, or food decay, cannibalism, or anything of that nature.

A muttering attracted the girls attention, her ears tuning into what the broken voice was saying.

“… They should be gone. Or, perhaps, pain is the only thing I should feel.”

There was a pause before the quiet mummer spoke again.

“... Yuuki..”

And again.

“Father……”

Then one final time.

“What do you know? I ended up killing more, and even got myself into another war.”

The voice held quality of those who have recently revisited the- unwelcome memories of their lives before the war. Curiosity gnawed at Lyza's mind as she glanced at the roof of a neighboring building, where there stood a raven haired girl, the moons milky light illuminated her from the dull devastated scenery. A small demented smile etched its way across her lips as she giggled yet again.

"Living to live, only to live till death. Not really living when the broken pieces of a memory are flitting in a mind struck by betrayal of any of the sort that could be considered the beginnings of anything.. Possibly depression?" Stroking the cat on her lap she continued to speak not quite knowing what she was saying, nor caring that the girl could be ignoring her very presence.

"Nobody knows for sure what the possible outcomes are when the mind is overtaken by the animal inside, but betrayal and fear are the lead things leading to a life of an odd hell that will soon take over the minds of those whom have killed. Survival and insanity, death and amenity.."

There it was; everything had just struck Genevieve in the heart, right where it hurt. Rain was right; her weak body wouldn't survive forcing out a level ten spell. She remembered then, that she was just a weak girl with a fragile body, and that she simply had good grades and knew how the magic worked; even if she could perform the high-level magic, her fragile body would break if she carelessly used it. "Y-you're right...," Genevieve said as though some sort of shy girl who was admitting to being shy and incapable of making friends or something. It was like somebody'd told her she didn't have the courage to do anything by herself, and she was without the courage to even deny it.

"For the past two and a half years... I've just been fooling myself... I've been trying to be something I'm not, and it hurts..." Genevieve said, her eyes sparkling as though tears were forming in them. "It hurts...!" She shouted, dropping onto her knees with her hands between her legs, tears running down her face. "I managed to get recognized by my classmates, but that's as far as I could get... It hurts, having people willing to be my friends standing right there, but not being able to talk to them...!" She was still crying, and though filled with tears, one look into her eyes would tell everything; one look would reveal just how much she wished she could simply fit in and have friends, nothing more.

As Genevieve sat there on the ground crying, something definitely a bit unwanted happened. The circle she'd drawn on the ground which she now sat on, had started lighting up. Genevieve coughed as her head jerked back, eyes springing open and body trembling, but unable to remove itself from this position. Electricity was generated from the circle, a little bit running up her body here and there. Her mouth was wide open from the pain of the unexpected electricity, though she was unable to make a single noise at the moment. "No... No...! Why did it activate...!?" She thought, the electricity running all over her now. The lit up magic circle expanded outwards to become ten kilometers in diameter, it lighting up a bit of Nayuta. The electricity remained only running across Genevieve's body though, not going anywhere else on the circle.

The circle that had spread out to a diameter of ten kilometers, only remained that way for a few seconds. It dragged itself back in rather fast, shrinking in an instant and becoming but a small circle that barely surrounded her hands on the ground. The electricity vanished momentarily, then suddenly shot out of the circle and up her arms really fast. After being rejected by the magic and enveloped by strong electricity for a good few seconds, the circle vanished. Genevieve sat there a few seconds, not moving at all. The pain was immense, but didn't leave any physical damage. The level ten magic had pushed her away through a non-physical attack, essentially breaking her spirit. Whether or not it was permanent, not even Genevieve would know.

Genevieve's eyes were shaking in fear as she lowered her head slowly to look at the ground, hair hanging down from her face and quite definitely touching the ground. Her eyes weren't really visible to Rain while she was looking down, but she did raise her head to look at him, eyes pleading for him to take her somewhere else, anywhere she could get away from all of this for a little while. Her eyes were pleading for somebody to just comfort her, and to help her through the pain that she was feeling in her heart; in her now broken soul. Those were no longer the eyes of a killer, but rather the eyes of somebody who had been broken; tortured even, their spirit stomped on until left in millions of pieces that would take forever to put back together.

Rain Lysae

Once again, Rain was stopped in his tracks. He wasn't quite sure what had happened, but the raven-haired girl had bolted passed him into the darkness beyond. She had appeared to be mumbling something, but Rain was unable to pick up on what she said.

For a second, he was pondering whether or not he should go after her. She seemed distraught, and he had no idea where she was running towards but it was possible that she was putting herself in danger. He couldn't understand why he cared in the first place, this was a game of survival and these girls were all supposed to be his enemies.

That's when the blonde girl began to break down as well.

"Y-you're right...,"

Rain's muscles all froze stiff. The sudden resignation by the girl he had come to know as the powerhouse of Nayuta took him by surprise.

"For the past two and a half years... I've just been fooling myself... I've been trying to be something I'm not, and it hurts..."

The girl continued, her eyes beginning to moisten.

"It hurts...!"

She screamed. It seemed that years of anguish had finally caught up to her, begin released all at once.

"I managed to get recognized by my classmates, but that's as far as I could get... It hurts, having people willing to be my friends standing right there, but not being able to talk to them...!"

Rain finally turned around to face her. By this point, tears were flowing down her face, dampening the ground beneath her. As her emotions began to release, it appeared to have an effect on the magic circle that she had drawn before as well. Suddenly, the circle began to expand, lightning up with electrical energy.

Quickly, the girl made efforts to contain the spell from unleashing itself. She was being shocked by her own spell, as if she was betrayed by her own magic. The twisted look of pain on her face was unmistakable. However, she had managed to contain the spell as the magic circle began to shrink until it had disappeared completely.

That moment seemed to have lasted an eternity, but it was really over as quickly as it had began. As the magic dissipated, Rain began to walk closer to the girl. The blonde had been looking down, and whether it was in pain, shame, or apprehension, Rain did not know, but he did not care either.

This girl, despite having been known as a monster who could not be controlled, with a magic that knew no limit, had shown complete vulnerability in front of him. It brought Rain back to the real world. Yes, she was the "Devil-Possessed Angel," but she was also only a girl that was trying to survive. Just as he himself worked to survive, and keep his friends alive, she was only a killer because she had to be. This, they shared in common. Despite the cold, hardened, murderer that Rain had become, he hadn't the heart to hurt this girl as she sat in front of him. struggling with her own demons.

The blonde's head began to lift up, her eyes begging Rain for help, for comfort, for peace.

The white-haired boy's eyes softened. He had considered himself foolish today for thinking of allying with his enemies. But right here, right now,if he would refuse to help a broken girl get back on her feet, he would be worst than foolish. He would be heartless. He would be no better than the the ones he bears a great resentment for. He would be no better than Father Zoro himself.

Rain sighed. He walked over to the girl, until he was less than a foot away from her. At that point, he turned his back, and got on one knee. He was offering a piggyback.

He turned his head so that he could face the girl, and then he proceeded to give her a warm smile.

"Let's go,"

♠Minori Kurosawa♠

"Nobody knows for sure what the possible outcomes are when the mind is overtaken by the animal inside, but betrayal and fear are the lead things leading to a life of an odd hell that will soon take over the minds of those whom have killed. Survival and insanity, death and amenity.."

Minori sighed, glancing down at the girl with silver hair. She returned her gaze straight forward, looking at the moon, which was almost fully down. The skies were gaining a pink-ish tint as the sun rose.

“... Insanity… Slowly losing consciousness, but still awake… Does nothing to hide, but changes a person’s life… Poisoned to the bone… Stuck in a web only to be eaten alive…”

Minori mumbles, lifting her hand slightly to look at a small, black spider, which had latched itself to her finger.

“By the madness. I’m only just realizing how weak I am to fall to it so easily… Heck, I couldn’t even keep fake emotions on my face for too long.”

The black aura seemed to become more and more visible, and that’s when something happened. The spell Eri threatened to use was activated. She glanced towards the girl with silver hair, and said in a monotone voice,

“Damn, why not destroy Nayuta even more... “

She glared in the direction where the spell occurred, --But had somehow stopped--, and since the building she was on was one of the tallest buildings in the village, she jumped, diving towards the scene. But on her way there, she was caught off guard by another Cross-Light student who, shot a bolt of electricity at the dark mage. She crashed into the ground and quickly got back up.

“Tsk.”

It was the purple-haired girl from earlier. Minori narrowed her eyes, wondering why she didn’t finish her off in the first place.

“You know… Why didn’t you kill me right then and there?”

Minori asked, green eyes dull. The woman only shook her head, pushing up her glasses, and jumped. Suddenly, the ground beneath Minori crumbled, making her fall 30 feet underground. The electricity used was still active, so she felt watts of electricity travel throughout her body, and silently screamed. ‘I can’t...’ She thought. ‘I.. Can’t move!’ The woman came jumping down, landing on Minori’s stomach, adding a crater to the already-destroyed land.

“Because. Now I know your weaknesses, Dark-Shaded Emerald. Or should I say, Minori Kurosawa.”

‘How does she know my name…? Is this the en-’

“Tsk, this is only level 5 magic… You really are weak. I expected better of you… What a shame.”

Minori, once again, had been shocked by powerful electricity. ‘No, not yet. Not to the likes of her.’ Blood flowed out of the young mage’s mouth, and she couldn’t seem to do a thing. She was too scared to move.

‘I’ve never felt this before, why am I this frightened? Oh, right. You’re weak, Minori. Makes so much more sense.’

“Oh, may as well tell you my name, since it’d be too cruel to kill you without knowing. I’m Makoto Ito.”

Her lips formed into a smirk, as Minori’s eyes widened some. Makoto was ranked first in hand-to-hand combat, carrying such insane strength and pain resistance. ‘I have to do something-- Ah!’ Minori thought, as an idea had appeared in her head. Black mist appeared, and Makoto immediately covered her nose and mouth. Minori only sighed, not bothering to cover either. She stood up after Makoto had released her foot from her stomach to get away from the poisonous mist.

“Isn’t it just wonderful? The thought that we might both die here… The poison has already entered our systems.”

I’M GOING INSANE.

“What? How?”

“Your pores, of course.”

WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?

“... Poison can be strong after all…”

“Hehe~ We’ll be free of this pain. You won’t have to suffer; Regrets, sorrow…”

THIS ISN’T ME..

“All gone. Well, what do you say?”

“You’re… Insane…”

SOMEONE, PULL ME OUT OF THIS MADNESS…

Loud cackles filled the air. They echoed throughout Nayuta, and Makoto had retreated. Minori only went towards where she could sense Eri and ‘Mercury’, as well as where Aki’s presence seemed to be going, an insane look on her face, but eyes pleading to escape; For the madness to be gone.

Lyza Miorid

“By the madness. I’m only just realizing how weak I am to fall to it so easily… Heck, I couldn’t even keep fake emotions on my face for too long.”

The girls voice, whom she had not the name of, began to speak back to her. Broken- no more shattered, where not even the tightest cloth could fix it. Hell this meant the girl was going over. And just like that, the girls eyes darkened a shade, her aura beyond the raven of her hair, her sanity slipping like the emotional control of the girl who let forth a level ten spell.

“Damn, why not destroy Nayuta even more... “

Void of emotion, the girl slipped from the roof, the movement far from accidental. Lyza brushed the cat from her lap, and leaned over the side of the building, her hands as her only anchor on the frost covered brick. Her eyes watching as the raven girl fell, the soft pink light of the sun showing her form as it descended.

"Another soul lost to the depths of despair, but it is too soon for this one.. Not time. Not ready..." Lyza muttered as she watched the girl being struck by a bolt of electricity. "Not time." She muttered once more before dropping herself onto another roof, following the pair down.

"Tick tock, tock tick.. Too soon, Too slow." Lyza growls as she continues her rolling descent, stepping to the verge of the crater that they had made.

“All gone. Well, what do you say?” Raven girl asked her deranged voice, much too high pitched, strained not quite the insane drone, more of a snapped cry. As though inside she were still crying for help.

“You’re… Insane…” Lyza's former classmate Makoto choked out.

Biting her lip in excitement Lyza ground her teeth, Makoto always did have a bed habit of picking on the wrong kids at the wrong time. She giggled at the scene, insanity fighting with survival, fighting with mentality. It was comical.

Her laughter cut off as the raven girl began to laugh, Lyza studied them a few meters off head tilted to the side at an odd angle as she studied the girl, ignoring the obvious danger as her hands began to spark and sizzle with her contained excitement.

Mai was... stubborn. Some saw the situation as be or be killed, while other simply killed for the sake of the situation. Regardless, Mai was unlike either. In her case, she only ever applied be or be killed in the most pressing and stressful of situations, when be or be killed truly was the only options and choices upon the plate. Only then did she end up killing one student... then another... then another. And although she hated it, it had to be done. Be or be killed - she'd stuck by that. Anyone who'd knew her before the place went to the dogs would have seen her in her normal light, in which she was the chilled out girl who couldn't be any less relaxed, and meditated from time to time. Who would never pick up a hand or weapon to inflict pain upon someone else at the least, let alone kill them. No one living was aware of her other mindset that was solid in her decisions, that would kill if it had to. However, the situation that Father Zoro had placed them all in had made it more prominent to others. Especially others she was forced to fight against, despite her desires and whether she wanted to be in that fighting situation. It all defied their nature.

Why he would place them all in this situation, some of them children, to kill and cause chaos for the sake of choosing a successor was beyond her, and she could not see why the adults couldn't figure it out among themselves. Because they were lazy maybe, or selfish. Maybe Father Zoro liked to see the students all struggle and play by his game, watching a student die at least every hour... it was sick. It drove Mai mad, even though she tended to suppress her feelings above the surface. Even when her true self was quite lost, she knew that she would become maddened and reckless like the others, playing by his game to a further extent. She wouldn't allow herself to lose herself among the chaos - not if she wanted to come out of the experience with a shred of conscience or sanity. So she'd meditate. Even when her body was starved and quite weakened after six months. She knew that it was the only way she could maintain her state of mind through the chaos, even after it had been going on for such a while. Even when she'd killed those others and pushed them aside, she knew that she couldn't let it get to her. She could have said that it was a vengeance towards whoever had taken her own sister's life in the early stages, but it wasn't. Not then. It was killed or be killed then, and nothing more. She knew that if it were more, than Father Zoro would have corrupted her like the others. But no - she'd maintain her morality.

The scent of stale blood tainted the air - it had been there for at least the last three months. It was hard to keep track of things since the experience began. Half the clothes Mai wore hardly belonged to her either. The thin holed school sweater of a student who's name and face she couldn't recall. All she could remember was a bruised, cut body slouched against a wall, and not taking the time to protest about the site, she took whatever was useful from it and claimed it her own. It was a good find, especially with the other bodies being half bare, but the find proved to be not as protective against the weather as she'd hoped and anticipated. She still had the golden pin at the back of her head in place, but her blue uniform was barely blue any more. Her skirt was hardly beneficial, and her skin was dark with grime. She hadn't found a clean area to bathe in a long time - most places were, at the least, tainted with the blood of casualties. When it came to bathing then, it was healthier to do otherwise, and she needed all the health she could obtain, and the greatest resource circumstances seemed to give her was clean water. The air was thick and foggy, and she'd extracted enough to keep her going for a long while. With a lack of storage, she was forced to pressurize the water to fit, and there was thankfully enough for her to keep her going. Here, she had the upper hand.

But she needed more to survive. In her worn boots, she trekked around the area half filled with abandoned buildings and rubble. Alliances were nearly non-existent with many dead, so the position Father Zoro had placed them all in made her self-reliant. She carried a stolen rucksack on her back that carried clean water, something she hadn't seen in quite a while, and a small blunt knife. Over the span of six months, these and her own abilities were the only things she had left. Seeing a great flash of light, likely sourced from a Level 10 spell, Mai was reminded of where she was and her situation. There were still students from other schools around. She was taken aback to say the least - she hadn’t seen someone around since her last kill...

Maybe they had some resources, and maybe she could benefit from seeing someone else, maybe forming an alliance. If they weren’t mad, of course. She knew that rushing into the destruction would expose herself, so she kept where she was and relied on her other senses - after all, from where she was, her sense of sight wasn’t too effective. She was careful as she made her way about the place, her feet hitting rubble and broken bones as she stepped. Whether anyone still alive had killed wasn’t a great factor to her - it was whether they were sane enough to be around. Mai breathed out, carefully making her way through Nayuta. She needed to meet someone else if she wanted to stay alive, as meditation and calm would only get her so far.

Ears perking at the sound of feet meeting the brutally torn road, much like that of the roads of hell. Turning silently Lyza narrowed her eyes in the direction of the sound, where the careless soul was trampling gracelessly through the ruins. Almost like a cow, a cow lost from the land of question, Lyza's mind provided.

A grin lighting the girls face as she sensed the presence growing closer, more people means more fun. More fun means more mentality.. Possible serenity? Not to say, but only the final options could tell. Shaking her head lightly, Lyza remained turned to the side, able to keep track of the Raven girl as well as the newcomer.

Curiosity was brought upon her as she wondered how these... Interesting people had survived, their mentality being so weak and worn you could think that they'd have lost it long long ago. Not for her to judge, having lost her own at the age of eleven was far from the epitome of 'perfect'. Biting her lip in concentration, Lyza forced her spirit to remain dormant so she could remain as close to insensible as possible as she shrunk back into the sun bleached rubble.

♠Minori Kurosawa♠

Minori finally spots who she was looking for. The poison was taking effect, her once glowing emerald eyes a dark green, and skin extremely pale. She didn't feel it though, this poison doesn't hurt until 10 minutes of it being in the system.

Minori seemed to have calmed down a bit, taking deep, broken breaths. Her cackling had stopped, and her insane smile was nothing but a small oval from breathing so heavily. Her madness was still there; but it was on and off. Her eyes were half-lidded, not seeming to care about the world. She looked dead tired. Yet, she still kept going. It was what little part of her left, that wasn't mad, fighting to keep her sanity. Seven minutes had passed when Minori started to stare at the students who were helping Eri out. 'That must be what true friendship is... I haven't experienced it ever since Yuuki died..'

Minori thought, sadly. She was a mess; One point, she was calm and collected, then she's insane with no control. She stayed and watched for a minute, before slowly walking towards them, each step taking at least 3 seconds until the next. She felt guilty that she got irked because of her friend, who had broken down right after she stormed off. 'To think I wasn't there to help her...' Tears brimmed her lifeless eyes. She never wanted to hurt a friend, knowing the losing one is the worst that could happen. Her hand moved up, reaching towards them, but they seemed so far away, even if she was 30 feet away from them. A single tear rolled down her dirt covered face, making a clean streak where dirt used to be. 'I can't go.' Those words echoed in her mind as she silently fell to her knees. 'I can't go. I don't even know if she's mad at me or not..' She hung her head down, hair covering her face. 'So close, yet so far away. No, I wasn't irked because of her, in the end...'

She looked up at the tower of which Father Zoro stayed. 'No, it was him who caused it. Countless deaths, insanity, sadness, just for the sake of choosing a successor.' Minori thought, grimly.

She was one minute away from feeling the poison's effects, and she looked at her cold, pale hands. Suddenly, she remembers about the girl with red hair who was hiding earlier. 'Where'd she go?' Shrugging it off, she was about to call out to Eri, but the girl came out of nowhere.

"You remember me? How sweet. It's too bad this is a war."

She says, smirking and pulling out her dagger. Minori turns around and glares. The girl narrowed her eyes.

"How rude! And I was beginning to feel bad."

She sighs. Minori inwardly rolls her eyes and looks Sakura straight in the eye.

"... No one said you had to feel bad. Just leave me the hell alone."

The girl huffed sitting down next to her.

"I'm... Sorry. I just can't kill you, it doesn't feel right... Sorry."

She says softly. Minori only shakes her head in silence before glancing up at the girl. Her hair was an autumn red, as were her eyes.

"So, what's your name? Mine is Sakura Adachi."

Minori hesitated for a bit before letting out a small sigh.

"Minori Kurosawa. Now... Before you say anything, yes, I am Headmistress Melody's daughter."

She made sure to say it quietly so the students not so far away from them didn't hear. The girl grins.

"I guess that doesn't help at all out here?"

She jokes. Minori shrugs.

"I don't normally tell people my name."

"True, may I ask what school you are from?"

Minori thought for a bit. She was sure that Sakura knew that she wasn't from Blazing Sun, that's for sure. But was it really safe? Giving in, Minori muttered,

"Dark Arts. Pretty obvious, judging by what just happened a few minutes ago."

"What happened? I'm sorry, I wasn't looking."

Sakura admitted.

"Hmm. Went crazy, got in a fight, poisoned Makoto, the best hand-to-hand fighter in Nayuta, also--"

Ten minutes. A horrid feeling erupted inside of Minori, and her eyes went wide. Sakura gasped.

"You're poisoned! Oh, what do you Need?"

Sakura asked, worried. Minori coughed and sputtered, getting out the words:

"Healing Magic.."

She didn't know which school learned that type of magic, she had always assumed it was Cross-Light, but Eri was mainly offensive when it came to magic and the silver haired girl from before; she wasn't sure if she specialized in that or not. There was also a chance that she could be wrong and it wasn't the Cross-Light students.

"I… I've done little to no healing magic but… Do you want me to try?"

Minori let out a scream of pain, and it seemed strangled because she tried her best to keep quiet. It didn't work all that well, and all she wanted to do was crawl in a hole. There was no medical care in Nayuta anymore.

'This poison... It takes 5 hours to kill someone. As long as I get help within that time, I should --hopefully-- be good.' She looked up at the sky. 'The sunrise is still beautiful in a place like this...' The orange and the pink mixed together created an amazing color, leaving Minori staring in awe.

"It's a shame that we won't get to go there when we die.. So many lives lost to our hands."

Sakura was silent but nodded slowly in agreement. A cough. The poison cooled down a bit, but it would soon start hurting again --In around five minutes or so.--

(At this point, I feel like Miri has multiple personalities.)

Lyza Miorid

Attention drawn by the pair in the crater once again, Lyza found herself slinking closer to their hunched forms. The girls sudden change of state caused Lyza to hasten her pace, her lingering mentality only allowing as much. Though on average she would have normally been able to feel a mere second of pity before moving along, perhaps this was a recovery? Doubtful, but possible.

"... done little to no healing magic but… Do you want me to try?"

Lyza breathed a laugh with the wind, at the Red girls comment as she forced herself to move faster, the scream from Raven girl signified pain, self poisoning from what she had seen earlier most likely. Not having the faintest idea of what a Student From an outside class would be capable of if attempting to heal a fellow student, for all she knew it would turn the girls insides to mush and the air to ice. But nothing was capable of that quite yet.

"It's a shame that we won't get to go there when we die.. So many lives lost to our hands."

Lyza's smile melted from deranged to soft and full of humor as she sat barely centimeters from the Red girl and inches from the Raven,
"And what would you do if I were to tell you that there is no 'There'?" She smiled pushing up her sleeves and rubbing her hands together as though she were about to produce defibrillators with her bare hands.

"Who's up for a little healing?" She asked to nobody in particular her childish face bright with a seeming constant excitement.

@PoisonousCupcake @Errrr.....Everyone else..?

Akarusa "Aki" Yami

Aki stepped almost silently over to Eri's crying form, seemingly unnoticed by anyone else in the area. Her violet eyes studied the boy who spoke to her weeping friend and she raised a brow as he offered to pick her up. It was then that Aki stepped forward, already her hand had jumped to one of her many pockets of poison and she grabbed a fistful, ready to fling and manipulate it within a second if he proved to be a danger.
"Who are you? Eri....are you okay? Let's get you out of here." Aki's other hand reached down towards the girl as she stepped next to her, her eyes still keeping a watchful gaze on the boy.

Aki heard murmurs nearby, soft voices. One....two...maybe four? She couldn't be sure and she didn't know if they were a group or a fight was about to break out, either way she needed to get her friend away from the wreckage. To get her out of the open. Aki withdrew her hand from her pocket, black powder seeping through the cracks of her fist and turning into a dark fog as it made contact with the ground.
"Hold your breath Eri." She warned, letting the black mist cling to her skin and the material of her clothes, she made a gesture with her hand, the smog parted from her lips and she took a clean breath. Free of poison. Any who inhaled the fog would immediately feel it's effects, their skin turning ashen and Aki's form would become distorted, open to a nightmarish interpretation specific to the poor soul who'd managed to breathe in such smoke.

Aki maintained her hand's position next to Eri, hoping to help the girl to her feet. She'd specifically chosen a poison that required inhalation and not simple skin contact, this way she could at least assure not only her own sanity and safety, but hopefully Eri's as well. It
would however take a little more effort to continuously make sure that the mist never went near Eri's face but it wasn't anything Aki couldn't handle, poisons were after all, her specialty.

~ Genevieve Eredia Vivelshion ~

"H-he's a friend, Aki..." Genevieve said, wiping away her tears. Her eyes were still shaking and her body was weak, but she immediately clung to Rain as Aki started using her poison, cupping her right hand over the guy's mouth and nose; meanwhile, her left hand took Aki's hand. There was room for breathing, but one thing was clear; Genevieve's hand was warm and filled with energy, energy of which was turned into bits of electricity so small they were invisible. Despite being invisible to the eye though, they were doing a job of splitting poisonous mist from the air that went between Eri's fingers to allow proper breathing. "Miri's somewhere nearby, that much I know. Be careful, as it's possible you could hurt her."

Genevieve didn't sound like she usually did around Aki. She seemed more like an innocent teenager who was simply trying to survive along with her friends, unlike how she usually seemed ready to kill anything and abandon anybody just to survive by herself. "I'll try and employ a level six energy barrier so I can tell who's nearby and where they're at. I'll also try and get something up to keep the poison away from me and him!" Genevieve said as she stretched her neck raising her head. She didn't have use of her hands for this due to covering Rain's mouth and holding Aki's hand, so she had to release her magic through placing stress upon another section of her body. This wasn't like the usual her though; this wasn't the Eri that would tear herself apart to survive, as she was quite clearly intending to pull through completely, without injury to herself or others.

A dome of shining golden light surrounded the group, lightly electrified before expanding out rapidly and going to a state where a person couldn't normally see it. "Found Miri!" Genevieve said, sending an invisible wave of energy toward Miri as to alert Miri of her and Aki's presence, should the energy manage to reach her. Given that energy magic wasn't designed for such use, and that such use was classified as level seven or eight based on range, Genevieve might've failed on that given her current state. Luckily though, she at least got as far as sending it with chance of reaching Miri, but whether or not Miri would receive it and come to their location if she did, was an entirely different story.

"Now then... A particle-splitting barrier...!" Genevieve said to herself, though it might've been loud enough for the other two to hear. Stressing the energy in her body once more, a light barrier similar to the previous formed around her and Rain, but this time it was made entirely of partially transparent electricity and didn't change in any way. The barrier was safe to pass back and forth through, so Aki's arm that was going through the electricity was just fine as it was. Genevieve was in a bit of pain now though, having forced herself so much. She clenched her teeth and held her eyes tightly, body tensing up on her. She recovered rather soon though, as once the energy was there, she simply had to maintain it rather than use more of her own energy.

Rain Lysae

Before the "Demon-Possessed Angel" had a chance to respond to Rain's gesture, another student appeared on the scene. Rain didn't see her coming, his focus on the girl behind him, so he was caught off guard when he heard, "Who are you? Eri....are you okay? Let's get you out of here."

Rain turned to face the new voice, seeing yet another girl. This girl had violet eyes and black hair, and appeared to be concerned for Eri. Wait, who was Eri? Was that the Demon-Possessed Angel's name?

"H-he's a friend, Aki..."

Ah, so it was. Eri...Rain would have to remember that. It was certainly better than calling her by the long nickname. Wait, they were friends now? Mission accomplished!

Suddenly, the girl named Aki reached into her pockets. Her hands left her pockets balled into fists, with black powder seeping out of the gaps between fingers. As the powder made contact with the ground, a darkened mist began to rise.

"What the he-mhmmhmm," Rain said, or well, attempted to say. Before he could finish his sentence, he felt Eri's body press onto his as her hand immediately shielded his mouth and nose. Her actions quickly made him realize that the Aki girl had shrouded the area in poison, meaning she was a Dark Arts member. Why were the two friends then? Had students begun creating inter academy alliances already?

Whatever the reason, he was just grateful that Eri had stopped him from breathing in the poison before he was too late on the uptake. Aki's poison mist seemed to be a risky method of concealing their presence, but nonetheless, they were protected by the mist for the time being, granted they didn't breathe it in anytime soon.

In the meantime, Eri attempted to solve their little poison problem, as well as attempting to find her friend Miri, who Rain presumed was the green-eyed girl from before. Eri created another electrical dome, similar to the one she had created that had obliterated the general area. After she seemingly found her friend, she proceeded to create a light barrier around herself and Rain.

Mumbling in Eri's hands, Rain attempted to say, "Am I good to breathe now?"

☆'Yuuki' [bLANK]☆

The sun was rising. A girl, an unknown girl, was thinking about revealing herself. She just needed to find the right time... Her hidden eyes glanced between the two groups. There was one with three girls, one of which seemed to be poisoned, and looked a little familiar... The second group had two people, a boy with white hair and a girl with golden hair. Yuuki stared at the white haired boy.

'He looks like he would be the opposite of me. My theme is black and red, his is white and blue...' She cracked her neck, then her knuckles. 'I should kill... Both groups?' Shadows started to stretch towards both directions. None of them seemed to notice. 'Maybe my unusual magic'll take them by surprise... They might think I'm cursed, or even worse, a demon..' The shadows stretched even more. The shadows directed at the two groups slowly got faster, but stopped. They were out of her six-foot radius. 'I don't know if I should step out quite yet.' Yuuki pulled her hood further down her face, completely covering it. Her unnatural red eyes bore through the black cloth, glowing brightly. She saw a dog from the corner of her eye, which came over to her. She sat, legs pulled up to her chest with one arm, the other out, extended to manipulate the shadows. Her gaze traveled to the dog. He had a black coating, and silvery eyes. She extended her other hand out to the dog and rubbed his back gently. She looked back to the rubble fields. The group of two seemed to be leaving relatively soon, but she couldn't kill them until they got closer to her, which probably wasn't going to happen. As for the group of three, one of them seemed REALLY familiar, it felt like she had a strong bond with the raven at one point. She wanted to look deeper into that. Letting out a disappointed sigh, the shadows disappeared, and she ate some of the sunflower seeds that she had found on one of the many students she had killed. 'I was once one of the weakest of Dart Arts. Now, I want to show them what I can really do... I think.' And with that, the assassination plan was a fail.

~

Yuuki went back to her usual alleyway. A group of students were savaging through the many corpses, looking for food and water. 'Back to killing in the shadows for now. It is what I do best... ' Obsidian glass formed on her arm, a very sharp point at the end. 'Slash.' She swung her arm once, twice, three times, and they fell to the ground, cut up in thirds. 'More for me. I won't be dying of hunger any time soon. Water seems harder to get by, though.' Yuuki took a pile of clothes and cloth and relaxed on them, using her cloak as her cover. Sure, the morning had come, though still early, she was tired. Her eyes closed as she fell asleep, dreaming of what she didn't know was her past before her memory got wiped.

*There was a mom. There was a dad. There was a best friend. There was the girl known as Yuuki. The two younger girls were playing, while the parents of Yuuki sat quietly and watched, smiling.

"Miri-Miri! You're it!"

The girl with the emerald green eyes giggled and said,

"I'm gonna get'cha!"

The two ran around for a bit, scarves flapping behind them. The skies were a light grey, and soon enough, little, white flakes started to cover the ground.

"Let's be best friends forever!"*

♠Minori Kurosawa♠

Minori looked towards Lyza, and recognized her as the one from a little earlier before. '... I might die if I don't... Get treated... But..' She glanced at Genevieve for a second. 'It may be a trap, since she's in the same school as Eri... And electricity...' While thinking about this, Minori felt two things; One, a familiar presence, but it seemed unfamiliar at the same time... Two, she sensed poison. More. Her reflex was to immediately cover her mouth and nose, but the poison that was already settling inside of her prevented her from doing so. Luckily, the 'new' poison dissipated, seemingly stopped by a force of energy. Speaking of which, Minori felt a wave of energy that was directed right towards her, as a message of some sorts. Her head turned slightly, to realize that Genevieve was the one to send it. Trying to surpass the pain that the poison had caused, she stood up, wobbly and imbalanced. Her hand grasped Lyza's wrist, as well as Sakura's, and she stumbled towards where the energy wave was coming from. 'The poison is, for some reason, keeping me from going completely insane... What will happen if I get cured?' Dull, green eyes looked at all of the students whom she had met that day. 'I don't want them to get hurt..'

"Closer... Closer..... Will they be mad..?"

Minori mumbled, their faces now in clear view. She stopped and looked at Lyza, 'What would her reaction be when she meets up with Eri, her fellow classmate?'

She started walking again, the pain getting worse and worse. But none of it showed on her face. When she was close enough, her mouth was only a small, straight line; as if she was trying to smile. Her skin was pale, her eyes were dull, but she wanted to make sure none of them were angered at her for leaving when a friend was in need. 'I feel like we're going opposite paths... While I fall victim to madness... Eri is going higher, opening up to others. Damn, who knew such a blunt statement could change how a person acts completely?' Minori thought, sending a questioning gaze Rain's way. How'd he do it? She looked back at Genevieve.

".. H-hey. I'm sorry... I- well.. Left when you, kinda.. Changed....?"

She waited for someone to say something.

"I was just... Mad."

After that statement, Minori coughed slightly, making it sound like a small cold rather than the poison's doing. She looked at Aki for a second, knowing that she could end up finding out in no time. The raven haired teen looked down at the ground; feet covered by raggy shoes, and little pieces of rubble. She suddenly remembered something.

"Er, is it possible to manipulate Shadows? I... I think I saw a shadow moving towards me, but it stopped and retreated... I've never heard of anyone who could control it like that.."

'Or I could just be delusional. That is a possibility..'

Lyza Miorid

A shadow had come closer, making Lyza feel the hairs rise on the back of her neck, but knowing for what she wished to do, she would need all of the energy that she had begun to gather, when as suddenly as it began its approach it retreated. As a wave of energy crossed over them Lyza's eyes narrowed, Cross -Light, but why? Her silent questions were answered as she was grasped by the wrist by none other than the Raven girl herself, being tugged along following the energy.

Grasping the Raven girls hand in both of her own, Lyza acted natural as she simply traced figures into the girls skin, lightly, gently, almost as if in a soothing manner. She could feel the girls energy diminishing as each second crept by, her eyes narrowed as she began to multitask. Part of her energy went out to make herself seem like she was a weakling, possibly capable of completing a level two conjuring, and a level 3 recreation, while the other part of her set to draining the energy from their setting and settling it to setting in the girl, a level nine ideal, where the energy would be restored enough for the person to communicate and think properly, but healing only enough for her to live, she refused to heal without consent.

Eyes closed as she smiled her delusional smile, Lyza continued her work, slowly as so the girl would notice as little as possible, besides, even had the girl noticed she would have fun trying to get her hand out of her grasp. Humming lightly as though she knew not of her situation Lyza began to rock back and forth her eyes rolling under her eyelids as her memories came out to play.

(Only read if you want to, these are just... memories)

"God damn it girl, can you do nothing right?" A tall man, broad shoulders, perfect posture bent to picking up the glass that had rolled off of the table in the low scale earth quake. Standing perfectly still Lyza said nothing nor did she do anything, she didn't even breathe.

"Dear.. She was not to blame it was-" Her sweet mother was cut off, her fathers bellowing bass covering the soft soprano of her mother.

"I know damn well what caused it, she," He waved his finger violently in Lyza's direction, "Should have taken the dirty dish to the sink, then we wouldn't have this problem." He growled his glaring hateful eyes burning holes into Lyza's own tear filled. "This is all your fault." He growled before turning to stalk away.

Wishing to stop the memories Lyza began to open her eyes only to freeze, if she stopped then... Well you'll find out soon enough
.

The memory continued;
Lyza's father was still turned mid step of storming out of the house when Lyza's small voice spoke, "I didn't cause any of this." She whispered, hardly loud enough for her to hear, let along her father across the house, yet as a moment passed the scary man was standing before the girl, her staring at his large shoes as he glared holes into her head.

"What did you say?" He whispered, eyebrows raised.

Lyza bit her lip before swallowing her fear, her tears along with it, looking up her eyes wide in terror she spoke again. "I- I didn't do anything, t- the dish wasn't mine, you left it out, the e- earth quake happ-" She was cut off by her father slapping her across her face, her mother sat across the room at their large table, a blanket wrapped over her enlarged stomach and toned legs, her hands pressed to her mouth as she held back a scream for her child who fell to the floor in a heap.

"Do not back sass me you little imbecile." He growled before slowly an evil smile etched its way into his face, "Its by time you learned a lesson on how to respect your elders." He muttered, before grabbing the girls hair and dragging the sobbing girl with him to a room deep in the house.

Little Lyza's wide eyes begging her mother to help her, her voice screaming sharply as she was thrown into a room, the door shut and locked, her father locked inside with her as hours passed and Lyza's mentality and consciousness began to fade, she realized, that when she reached out for her mother... Her mother had turned the other way, her hands pressed to her stomach. Her mother.. Had abandoned her.

Hours later when her father had grown bored of his games, and Lyza's voice had gone from screaming, when Lyza crawled out of the room, her long hair covering a few of her wounds. Her mother waited until her father had walked out of the house to work, to rush to Lyza's zombie like form, her right eye badly bruised, her neck had the beginnings of bruises as well, her arms were scratched, stomach bruised, ribs broken, hip dislocated. But the worst part, out of all of these, was her once life filled eyes of red, were a glowing purple. As her mother fussed, Little Lyza simply stared at the stranger in front of her, the woman who abandoned her when she had needed her the most, little did she know it was just going to get worse from there.

Lyza bit her lip in attempts of warding off the memories, still humming her tune as her face relaxed, her power slowing coming to an end as she cut it off, and with it the memories, as a consequence of using healing magic, she found that it worked, only when her memories decided to come out and play. Sighing she continued to rub the Raven girls hand, now as a reflex.

❀ Kazuha Shiomiya

The girl thought about burrowing under the earth however the issue that had thwarted her idea is that she was not capable of doing it in a quick pace so it might take more than a day to get to her destination. Kazuha was quite reluctant on travelling out in the open without given a chance of sensing her surroundings since she will require to go on without any stops to assure the presence of the magic user she wished to meet and had prevented her senses from settling. If she were to have her Seismic Wave to assist in the burrowing, the soil above her head while underground will collapse due to instability. Thus, her only choice would be to sprint over there considering her exceptional running ability allowing her to arrive there with such a short amount of time while hoping that she would not have any unwanted encounters that could lead to injuries or much worse, death.

Unfortunately for her but it was to be expected with being in a battlefield, she had a run-in with a student of Snowfall realizing it through the uniform which through her observation, was adept in using Ice magic. She had no time to dawdle especially with someone who has the intention of killing her however realized it will be difficult for her to be free of the chase at the same time keeping track of the path she should take hence had no other options other than to face the Snowfall student before her. Kazuha promptly took note of where she should head after as it was not that far anymore without averting her eyes from the opponent which had immediately started to attack without warning, probably underestimating her abilities and skills because of her vulnerable appearance. At the attempt to dodge her sudden attacks, a few ice fragments had made slash marks on her shoulder blade while adding more tear to her clothes. There was tinges of pain that made her winced though it was still endurable, knowing it would not take much time to heal and dashed towards the one who had caused it without faltering in her steps. She got close enough to jab a finger with focused seismic energy onto her opponent's forearm, successfully disabling the person's abilities to manipulate magic and aimed for the other one without giving her foe a moment to react. Then seeing the shock on her assailant's expression with being powerless without magic, she continued with using her leg and striked at the side of her abdomen exactly between the ribs and hip. It was hard enough which caused her to faint and fell on the ground.

Fearing that she had maybe killed the Snowfall student, Kazuha instintively bended down to check her pulse with putting two fingers on the person's neck. Letting out a sigh of relief upon knowing that her opponent was just in an unconscious state, she rummaged through her belongings and only found a water bottle that was only half-filled. It was enough to recover from the recent fight and also her overdue quench of thirst, emptying the bottle with a few gulps and returned it back seeing they are capable of refilling it through their magic. She returned with seeking of the light dome's creator and it did not take too long for her to arrive, witnessing what seemed to be a fog of poison judging by the color. Her approach was not exactly unnoticeable by the others who were enveloped in fog with her trying to dissipate it with her Seismic Waves.

☆’Yuuki’ [bLANK]☆

Yuuki awakens from her small nap, lips curved in a small frown. She picks herself up off the mud-caked ground. ‘Never again.’ Her back was stiff from sleeping in such an uncomfortable position, on the cold, hard ground, back up against a slightly damp wooden exterior wall.

Letting out a sigh, Yuuki cracks her knuckles and neck, stretching as well. She proceeds to find a new ally to ‘Claim’.

On her way there, she gets spotted by a few students; who are killed a second later with no time to react. ‘There’s no need to see who kills you. What matters is that you’re already dead.’ Obsidian glass formed on the girl’s arm, taking the form of deadly pointed spikes; as if her arm was crystallized. ‘It’s pathetic, fighting someone who has power like no other… When all you have is a mere pebble storm, or flaming ring to trap me.’ Red eyes were visible in the dark shadows of Nayuta’s slums, giving a midnight feel, even if it was sunrise. ‘Either way..’ Yuuki glances back at the direction of her, ‘Failed Assassination’.

“Nothing will work. It’s just the way life is.”

~

“... You may come out now.”

Yuuki calls out to someone, or multiple, students. ‘Airy auras. Green students.’ She has her back towards them. ‘I’m surprised. This is the most I’ve been spotted in three months. But..’ The tips of the obsidian glass sharpen as she keeps her arm tucked under her cloak sleeve to keep it hidden. ‘All a bunch of blood-thirsty teens, looking for a fight. They will never survive in a worldly battle; nor one like this. They shouldn’t live if they think war is a joke.’

“Ha. Three against one, seems a little unfair. Too bad.”

One speaks. ‘Strangely enough, he sounds like the typical group leader; More specifically, gang leader.’ Yuuki doesn’t move, seeming oblivious to the situation. ‘Don’t think I don’t know you’re talking.’

“Does she not know who we are? Or hear us?”

A second whispered, earning a grunt from the first voice. ‘Huh, as if on cue. Good timing, to say the least.’ Once again, she doesn’t move, but she slowly starts to expand her shadow at an unnoticeable rate. Very slow, but still going. The sound of sprinting bounces off the sides of the ally, signalling attack.

“Well…”

Yuuki starts to turn her head in their direction, to see them all ready with a magic spell whilst running at her. She lets a small smirk crawl it’s way onto her features.

“Which shall it be? Suffocation, or sliced?”

The one in front dropped to the ground, choking. The shadows had wrapped around his body and is now cutting off all airflow.

“Too late. I chose for you.”

Dead. The shadows receded back to Yuuki’s original and the remaining two watched in anger. ‘This is what you get when you want to play games, you always run the risk of the worst outcome. In this case, is your own death.’ She shook her head slightly and narrowed her eyes at the other two who looked like they were going to charge at any moment.

Enter 'The Jade Eagle'

“Damn it!” A voice shouted in the distance.

“Huh?”

The shout captured the attention of a young man who was casually walking through the war torn streets of Nayuta. This boy had on a forest green jacket, good for camouflage in the greener areas of Nayuta. Under his jacket he wore a long sleeved white shirt with a hood coming out from under his jacket. His jade eyes appeared to be filled with boredom, but life quickly returned to them once he heard the voice.

“That was Carl’s voice,” the young man said to himself. In a mere moment, he sprung himself from his current position to the direction of Carl’s voice. Moving quickly through the use of a minimal amount of Silent Step, he appeared behind the two Silent Storms students, who appeared to be facing off with some girl he didn’t recognize. In front of his classmates, he saw the fallen body of Steven, another of his classmates.

Jaden frowned. Rain would not be happy about this.

“Oi, little lady, that was a friend of a friend,” Jaden spoke out, causing his two classmates to turn around.

“Jaden?” Carl questioned, not having seen the Silent Storms power player since the beginning of the war.

“You two better get out of here. I don’t need to tell Rain that more of his friends died when I see him again,” Jaden said before smirking, “Plus, if she can kill Steven with the two of you with him, she must be strong. I want to fight her. Leave now,” he commanded.

The other two had no choice but to oblige, fearing to disobey Jaden Typhlan of the Silent Storms. They quickly ran off, still holding in their rage at the death of their beloved comrade.

“You and me, what do you say,” Jaden smiled gleefully. The girl only narrowed her eyes even more, before letting out a small sigh.

“Honestly. Kids like you keep coming along, but you all have the same fate…” She answers in a monotone voice.

Jaden raised a brow. “Oh? Well it sounds like you’re quite the fighter then. Don’t worry, I’ll try to stay alive,” he replied. The wind around him began to turn more violently, moving faster than before. His normally downed hair began to rise and spike up from the kinetic energy.

“You don’t seem like any normal girl. That’s great, I’m not a big fan of normal. Show me what it means to be special.”

“It doesn’t matter; Special, normal…” She fully turns to face Jaden, red eyes glowing unnaturally. “We are all alike in more ways than we think. Which, is strange coming from me.” Her shadow seems to have slowly started expanding.

Jaden looked on curiously as the girl’s powers began to manifest. Expanding shadows? That was nothing he’d ever heard of. The Dark Arts were known for their powers of Necromancy and Poison Control, but never had he heard of actual manipulation of the element of Darkness and Shadows. Very interesting.

Jaden smirked once more. This girl wasn’t like anyone else he’d ever engaged before. There was a good chance Jaden could lose today. But he promised that he would stay alive, and he always tried to keep his promises.

“Alright then, shall I start or should I be a gentleman and let the lady go first,” he asked, showing no immediate concern for his well being despite the lingering feeling that his opponent was incredibly powerful, as well as being an enigma.

“Tsk. In a place as shady as this? I don’t care.” She responded in the same voice as before. “But, you seem to be a little too cocky… I guess you are a kid who only finds enjoyment in this war. Unfortunate.”

Jaden shrugged. “I like to fight, that’s true. But the war itself is nothing I care for. Meaningless killing is not something I partake in, I keep all my opponents alive so that I can fight them again some other time. But enough about me, if this is to possibly be my last battle, what’s your name?”

“The one who died years ago. But I’m here now, so about that..” The girl’s cloak blew in the intense winds, showing what she wore under. A black jacket and a deep brown shirt, and a pair of casual looking shorts. But, what really stood out, was the short glance that anyone would’ve been able to take, of her arm covered with sharpened obsidian glass. “And, I can’t say that I’ve never killed.” She gestures to the alleyway with piles and piles of fallen students from all schools.

Jaden cringed. “Yeesh, that’s a lot of dead bodies. That’s cruel, ya know? Eh, whatever, I don’t really care much anyway.”

The violent winds began to concentrate in the palm of Jaden’s right hand as opened his fist above him, gathering his energy.

“Alright then, enough talk. I’m still very curious about your power. I didn’t really understand your little riddle about who you are, but that can wait. Let’s battle,” Jaden said, showing determination on his face as he smiled joyfully.

“Torrent of Notus, unleash your divine wrath!” Jaden shouted as the wind energy being concentrated in his hand suddenly came to a halt. Jaden brought his hand down like a hammer to the ground, unleashing a torrent of sharp winds towards his new opponent.

Shadows quickly formed a dome around the girl, and she attempted to drain as much power as she could from the attack. The dome shattered right as the attack died down. “Which would you prefer? Suffocation or S L I C E?” She brought up the hand covered in obsidian and stared at Jaden blankly.

“Honestly, neither of those options sound especially appealing to me,” Jaden replied humorously. He was interested in what the girl was about to do next, but he also wasn’t planning on dying. He had been able to see some of the girl’s power, and just like he had assumed, she really did seem to have control over shadows. Her power was one that he didn’t even know existed, and he wanted to see more of it. Survival came first however, so he needed to protect himself.

“One more spell from her, and then I’ll focus on saving my own ass.”

“Now then, shield me with your godly winds, Zephyrus!”

At that moment, the violent winds surrounding Jaden began to turn eve faster, creating a protective layer in the shape of an oval around the jade-eyed male. The winds were fast enough that they almost appeared to look like the winds of a cyclone, entirely visible, yet, mostly transparent.

“... What’s with you people shouting your move?” The girl sighed. “Not really my problem, though.” And with that, the obsidian from her arm vanished, but sharper spikes rose from the ground, and started to spread throughout the whole ally. “Two..” The ground shook slightly. “One.” The shadows sneakily headed towards Jaden through the shadows the spikes let off. ‘let’s see if this works.’

“Oh, it seems the spikes didn’t hit you… Too bad, huh?”

Jaden watched as the girl’s spell began to manifest. Her power was incredible, being able to cause those large spikes to crash out from under the ground. However, as the spikes continued to come out in a path leading to Jaden, they seemed to stop short, which was bit of a mystery to Jaden. He almost realized too late what had happened, but realizing that the girl’s last comment seemed a bit strange, Jaden quickly jumped upwards, using a bit of Silent Step to launch himself higher, to get away from the shadows that he had almost missed.

The girl raised her arm up in the air, causing a tall spike of obsidian to rise up towards Jaden. She sprints up, gathering darkness energy in the palm of her hand. As soon as she gets close enough, she brings her palm back and aims right for his stomach. ‘Seems like the shadow thing didn’t work out all that well, but ..’ The attack sent him flying, flying in the direction of Rain, Genevieve, Minori, Aki, and Lyza.

“Damn, I have to finish him off before he informs the students over there…” The girl mumbles, and speeds in the same direction.

If it hadn’t been for Jaden’s protective wind layer, Zehpyrus, he could’ve been fatally injured from the attack. Both the initial impact and the fall were dangerous, but Zephyrus proved to be a sufficient shield, but dispersed after he had hit the ground. As he flew a good 400 meters through the air, and crashed into the ground causing a cloud of dust to rise, Jaden realized that his opponent could possibly be one of the strongest students in all of Nayuta. He felt incredibly excited that he had found such a challenge, and silently vowed to himself that he would get stronger so that one day he could fight her on equal standing.

Jaden rose from the ground, brushing off the dust from his clothes. He looked around, spotting Rain, with a few other girls around him.

“No way, Rain! What’s up! Hanging around a crowd of girls as usual, huh?

The white-haired male, named Rain, had already been looking at the dust cloud after a mysterious object had impact not too far away from the current group he stood with, and once it subsided, he saw the young man he had regarded as his best friend for most of his life.

“Jaden? The hell are you doing here?”

“Aw not much, just fighting this one chick. She’s giving me a whooping, easily the strongest person I’ve ever fought, you included,”

“Someone beating Jaden? They must be as strong as Eri then…”

You're not getting away that easily!
☆’Yuuki [bLANK]☆

Yuuki hears the thump from the impact. ‘Not too far away.’ She stops when she’s in front of the rubble fields, spotting Jaden with a few others; The others being, the people she saw earlier. As soon as she heard, “... Easily the strongest person I’ve ever fought, you included.”, she bolts to the scene, and kicks Jaden in the back of the head, though not as hard; it was more of a, ‘Shut up’ kick. Either way, she still shows no emotion, and glares at Rain because of the simple reason that they are pretty much complete opposites. ‘Red eyes, blue eyes. Black hair, white hair. Nice person, devil spawn.’ She thinks, inwardly sticking her tongue out.

Rain glared back at the new appearance, while Jaden lay on the ground rubbing the back of his head.

“That wasn’t very nice. You know, anyone of you kids here could’ve warned me she was coming up behind me,” Jaden said.

“Jaden,” Rain started, cautiously analyzing the mysterious girl that apparently had enough power to beat Jaden, “This girl isn’t just any other student.”

“Gee thanks, I definitely needed your help to figure that out,” Jaden retorted.

Rain looked at Jaden for a second, shooting him an annoyed look that Jaden had seen numerous times before.

“You know what, I’m glad she kicked your ass,”

“Hey now, want me to kick yours?”

“Try it.”

“Well, how about we get away first, then I’ll whoop on you,” Jaden taunted.

Rain sighed in resignation. Getting away from their current location had been a plan several minutes in the making, but it just wasn’t happening. “Yeah, sounds good.”

“I’m not even a student. I’ll leave you two to talk, but keep in mind that,” Yuuki interrupted, turning to Jaden. “I won’t go so easily next time.”

Jaden smiled at the girl. “Yeah, I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Genevieve Eredia Vivelshion

~ Three Minds, One Mouth ~"Ah, sorry...!" Genevieve said quietly, letting go of Rain's mouth, though pulling herself close to him and basically hugging his back. That's when several events took place that left her just sitting there on her knees. It didn't keep her in shock for long though, as a switch in her mind was flipped the moment the newest girl had finished talking. "So... Interesting, I say... Interesting..." The girl stood up, eyes closed for a period of time. Of course, those eyes slowly opened themselves as she looked directly into Yuuki's eyes. The eyes of of the devil known as Eri met the eyes of the devil spawn, Yuuki. A sword in the girl's hand once more, she was somewhat back to her "Eri" self, albeit a little different.

"I honestly didn't expect to find somebody worth it, but here I am proven wrong." Eri said, her hair suddenly floating and waving behind her as electricity completely enveloped her. "I may as well do it, since I'll wind up dying eventually. Better I break that rule than let anybody try to kill my friends." Once more a devil, so unpredictable the girl was; at least, she seemed like a devil at only first thought. Determination resided in her eyes; the survival of herself, and more importantly her friends is what she was aiming for in all of this. "I, Genevieve Eredia Vivelshion, hereby relinquish my life to the forbidden magic."

The announcement was unnecessary to say the least, but she found herself doing so as to tell how serious she was. Life force now seeping from her body as energy, she was completely overcome by strength comparable to one of the Headmasters or Headmistresses; at least, that was the plan. Before she could begin drawing her life energy, she went flying back-first toward Aki, quite obviously unconscious before even starting to move back. Though preventing quite a lot, it was most likely for the best such an intervention had happened, seeing as it would probably spare her the death penalty.

Otoko Sekigetsu

~ Samurai of the Wind ~
"Father, forgive the harsh treatment I am about to hand this beautiful young lady... It is her life in which I preserve through this, and as such, her future. I swear it upon the name of the samurai."
Otoko

A mysterious, crimson-haired man of around fifteen stood alone atop a building not too far away. The wind was slowly picking up, actually blowing outward with him as the center. The wind lightly blew across the entire area around them, covering about a quarter of Nayuta. Those winds were his extension; what allowed him movement wherever he wished. Riding the current, he swiftly threw a knee at the golden-haired Genevieve, though stopped short of hitting. Regardless though, the girl was knocked out and then thrown toward another so as to have somewhere to catch her where there wasn't painfully sharp rubble to stick in his feet or for her to fall on.

It was all too fast to see happen, but it did happen. It was also too fast for him to be seen on-site as he performed it, but he did appear right by Aki and catch Genevieve with the utmost care and delicacy. "Such strain isn't healthy for ones future... I hate such treatment of a beautiful young lady, but it had to be done..." Otoko said to himself, though Aki right next to him may have heard his words. "Now then, I'll be borrowing this... A samurai needs his weapon, after all..." he said, taking the sword that remained lightly clutched in Eri's hand.

Gently passing Eri to Aki without so much as a warning, Otoko simply vanished along a light breeze of wind. He was now a ways away, standing atop the tallest building Nayuta had still standing, of course not counting the tower in which Father Zoro resided. "Now then, Yuuki... I wonder if you'll come?" He spoke to himself, a smirk on his face as he was analyzing all possible outcomes of this war as though it were a textbook being read. All pointed to the end result of Silent Storms' victory; aside from two, anyways. One was rather troublesome of an ending for everybody, while the other, he only got as far as it being different rather than as far as how it was different. It was... a complex ending, to say the least.

Lyza

Her attention having been drawn to the boy that was flung into their area, Lyza tilted her head her half lidded eyes shrouded in confusion as she mutters so herself, "What a strange place to lay..." Pausing she shrugged, "I suppose with the times being what they are its to be expected.." She found herself watching another girl appear from behind the boy, a kick to his head sending him back to the ground where in Lyza's post-healing state, she could not follow what any of these events could possibly be leading to.

Her eyes trailing up the girls form, Lyza watched the New Raven girl glare with the Silver boy. What interesting people, she thought to herself as she continued to clutch Miri's hand within her own child sized. Her eyes glazing over once again as Eri began to act more wild yet again, proclaiming something that in her stupor she had yet to catch onto.

Finally the newest unknown fell upon their group, another Silent Step student, Lyza watched though glazed eyes as the boy knocked the newly proclaimed Eri out cold, slipping the sword from her grasp before disappearing yet again. At this point Lyza's mind couldn't comprehend any other odd happenings, it simply began to shut down. Closing her eyes, Lyza sank to the ground in as she fought her minds attempts of recovering- which would make her most vulnerable. Hand still clamped around Miri's Lyza fell in a partially unconscious state.

☆'Yuuki' [bLANK]☆

(The picture is irrelevant; I just like it)

Yuuki glanced up at the new appearance, uninterested. That was… What was the point of that, exactly?’ She sighed when the red-haired male went further away from them. Minori must’ve heard something because she stared at Yuuki with wide eyes, while next to Lyza’s unconscious form.

“He said Yuuki. Is what he said true…!? Was he talking about the one with no last name.. The one who died years ago!?!”

Yuuki stayed silent, looking down at her ex-best friend. Though, now she had second thoughts of the young boy who had appeared. ‘How did he know my ‘name’? I don’t recall ever fighting him before. The only possible way for anyone to know me as ‘Yuuki’ is if they had known me before I was revived.’ Minori cuts her out of her thoughts.

“... When you were revived.. You could’ve come back to all of our friends! We could’ve thrown a big, ‘She’s Alive!’ party…! Why did you wait all this time…”

“Because… I-- I didn’t belong. Not even now. Someone who is dead should stay dead… But, I was given a second chance, so that’s nice.”

Yuuki shrugged, crossing her arms and gazing out in the direction of the Samurai. ‘What was he planning, exactly? A fight? A trap?’

“But… Do you know how much pain you’ve caused us? The insanity, dreadfulness, everything..!!”

Yuuki despised moments like these, and tried to change the subject. ‘What to talk about, what to talk about...’ Her red eyes narrowed as she thought, and her face held no expression anymore, unlike a few minutes ago when she held a look of.. Protectiveness?

The people she was currently with were the only ones that she herself had spared, the ones she found interesting. Mainly Minori and Jaden, since those two have seemed to have interacted with her more whereas everyone else she had just met, not even speaking to some of them. ‘I should follow that guy, I’m concerned as to him knowing what I go by; Yuuki.’

“Should we split up? Some follow the samurai, and some head somewhere else to set up camp?”

Minori whispers, as she noticed the increasing number of students coming to the rubble fields. Yuuki nods slightly. ‘Good, she changed the topic herself.’ Yuuki didn’t know where they could set up base at, she didn’t go around Nayuta all that much and she had only hid in the shadows of alleyways that were now littered with student corpses which were her cause. After all, out of all the dead students, she caused a little more than half percent.

“I’d say that someone should bring blondie (Eri) to the new hide out place, yeah. But I feel like that I should be the only one to hunt that guy down…”

Yuuki announced.

“Minori, was it? You, I sense poison in your body. You should go with the group hunting for a new resting place. You can go off on your own if you want, but we don’t have much time to decide.."

Yuuki continues, gesturing to the students that were starting to gather.

In just a blink of an eye, all of the occurrences unfold before her while she had remain still however backed off a little to not get involved. People started to gather here as expected, what she exactly did not want but they seemed to not notice her presence yet. However she had noticed the person she was looking for, a girl just about the same stature as her but with bright yellow hair. Seeing how she unleashed her magic made her confirmed this.

She watched the scene as the conversation proceeds, listening in or rather eavesdropping on what they were saying.

They had seemed to mostly know each other, Kazuha guessed by how they interacted. It was not before long that she stepped in and spoke up. "Hey, is the girl gonna be okay?" She looked at Eri lying on the ground and still have not take her eyes off her after being unconscious.

? Summary: Reunited with his companion, Narrin, they both witness a Shakespeare romance and then met up at the place Maalik was at previously, to his dismay. ?

3d7efc88cd7726e679d19c6c9d73c2bf.png

In no time at all, three figures could be seen up ahead in the alleyway along with two other with glowing blazing eyes -- one being twice their size and the other glowing brighter than the bigger one in the dark with a orange hue -- as Maalik could feel the strong familiar presences of Dark Arts students. As the group got closer to Maalik, one of them spotted his form with ruby orbs glowing with life and a cocky grin plastered on his face,"Maalik!" One of them called though not audible to attract unwanted attention from other students lurking about as the group quicken their pace to catch up with the towering fellow.

Maalik nodded in response, his bi-colored orbs examining the group that consist of only two boys and one girl as he noticed that there were a few missing from the last time he saw the group and look over at them, he could tell that something went wrong noticing one of them were limping, another with a huge cut in their side, and his closest friend, Narrin -- the one that called out to him -- was drenched in blood all over but he couldn't see if there were any wounds on him. His eyes widen in shock at their terrible condition"
What happened?" He asked worried and went over to help the limping girl and the boy, lending his shoulder as support and helping them over to a corner in the alleyway to sit. The girl groaned in pain but was able to ease in place, her back leaning on what was left of a building. The glowing golem seemed to belong to the boy with the large cut as he commanded it to keep the girl warm with the heat it was producing though it was not enough to fight of the cold completely.

Narrin sighed, his smile disappearing as he commanded his own golem to return back to its original form of a lump of rock,"
Let's just say we went a bit too far." Narrin replied watching the two wounded Dark Arts students rest against the wall, his eyes darken slightly. Hearing this, Maalik didn't further their conversation any longer than needed, understanding that whatever happened wasn't good and giving Narrin another silent nod, he wasted no time to help the boy, pulling out a dirty rag from his bag but the boy stopped him, his face expressing the pain he was going through,"D-don't." Speaking was hard for him as Maalik tried to help again,"But we-""Don't I s-sai-ahh." Coughing up some blood, the boy's condition was getting worse by the second as Maalik was already going through a mental panic. The girl was already in tears also trying to help but no matter what, the boy protested against their effort to ease his pain as it was obvious that he was gonna die either way.

The group didn't know what to do, they didn't have much supplies to help the boy and even if they tried, he wouldn't let them as they were left to just watch him suffer there in his own puddle of blood. Narrin stood away from the group, his head turned away from the scene with his fist clutching tightly to even draw blood with his nails digging into his skin. The girl was already sobbing so much and hugging the dying boy tightly not wanting to let him go. The scene was dreadful as it is watching a fellow comrade dying before you.

Maalik felt as if this was deja vu all over again. He had already witness this scene so many times, but no matter what, that suffocating feeling always got to him and being able to only watch as the boy's golem fell to the ground back to a rock and his eyes slowly closing, Maalik got up and closed his eyes. Once the boy's eyes fully closed, Maalik finally opened his eyes and stared as he heard the girl's sob grow even more louder though muffled,"
He's gone." Narrin said softly and placed a hand on Maalik's shoulder.

A moment of silence was given as they were all giving this moment to pray for the boy's journey to the afterlife.

The cold didn't seem to affect them anymore as watching the boy die and soon life was bought back to them though the girl still sat there not wanting to move,"
W-why... I-i-i... lov-" Burning tears streamed down her cheek as her lover was gone. Poor girl now left in this cruel world. Letting out a shaky breath, Maalik took a step forward and crouched down to their level,"I'm sorry Alice." He said, his tone soft and gentle to encourage the girl, Alice, to be strong but it seemed it failed as her shoulders stopped shaking and her head slowly turn towards them. Her long blonde locks fell over her face in a mess and her once bright ocean-blue eyes, now dark with no life at all in them, stared as if she was already dead.

Before anyone could react, Alice got up and pulled out a blade hidden under her skirt as she pointed it towards her chest. Eyes were widen at the sudden suicide act and before they could do anything, it was already too late. The stress must have messed up her brain along with the 6 months of suffering as she had now lost her sanity and hope of surviving. The blood dripped down from her chest as she smiled, a smile that they rarely ever seen on the girl's face as her angelic smile expressed her feeling to finally find rest from this cruel forsaken world;

"
E-even in death, we shall be t-t-together... Ja-ja-"

Before she could finish her sentence, her body fell limp onto the ground onto the boy's lap. This whole thing looked like a Shakespeare play as the two lovers were now together and the scene of their death together could be seen as either a happy ending or a sad ending... maybe even both as the two witnesses stared in horror.

Could it be called a funeral? Maalik wasn't sure but the best thing that they could do was place the two lovers safely within a crumbled building and silently give a prayer. Taking the little supplies they had, Maalik felt somewhat guilty though it was surprising that he was able to still feel such thing as it was mostly normal to scavenge his own comrades and take their stuff. Ignoring the guilt, he glanced back at Alice and then at the dagger in her chest. Without hesitation, he took hold of the handle and pulled the blade out of her chest letting fresh blood pour out more over the dried ones,"
Ready?" A voice said behind him as Maalik turned towards Narrin after wiping the blood off the dagger and placing it in his bag,"Yeah. Let's go." Walking out of the building, the two were now left with no group. Every one of their comrades were either dead, separated, or just betrayed them.

This life was surely, much more than just savage.

Their destination was unknown and between the two friends was complete silence. It wasn't an awkward one but one that was needed at this moment for them until Narrin broke it,"So... noticed that large light show from earlier?" Being reminded of the fight, Maalik flinched and shifted his attnetion towards his friend,"Oh that... some fight with a Philosopher's Stone student and a Cross Light student." Maalik admitted and Narrin getting the hint that Maalik got a nice close view of the battle,"Seemed the Light one won, huh?""Yeah." The conversation then died at that.

Walking some more through the maze of alleyways, they somehow managed... back at where Maalik was at previous with the fight and just like he guessed, many students were attracted by that fight,"Oh, so this must be where it happened." Narrin said with a grin and with a strange glint in his eyes which Maalik could already tell was bloodlust getting at Narrin,"No. I don't want to be part of some bloody massacre and we're at a disadvantage here." Maalik warned as there were too many of them here from different schools plus one of them were unconscious, the one being his savior. Did they attacked her when she was weak? Well, it was her fault for using so much energy on just one mere student making herself vulnerable for any attacks to hit her but she did save him... were the group gonna kill her off? It didn't look like it but he felt something tug at him to save her but if they were to become hostile, it would surely end badly for them to maybe end up like those two lovers.

Wanting to pull Narrin away from this, Maalik placed a hand on his shoulders as a gesture for them to move on but Narrin was too focus on the idea of the loot they would achieve to get if they managed to kill them all. Maalik was in good condition and Narrin still had some energy to fight, to Narrin, there was a chance but in Maalik's eyes, this was Narrin's own stupidity for some relief. He didn't want to lose another ally -- and one that he was close with -- to die on him.

While the two bicker and argued against one another quietly, Narrin soon had enough and brushing Maalik off his back, he went for the kill before Maalik could stop him,"Hello there fellow students." Narrin introduced giving light to his existence while Maalik stayed back not wanting to partake in his friend's foolish act. Instead, Maalik stayed hidden in the shadows and played as back-up in case things went wrong such as if the group attacked Narrin or vise versa; Maalik will had to intervene in it but until then, he will wait.

Lyza

Darkness. Darkness was all she saw.

Silence. Silence was all she heard.

Emptiness.

Empty..

It was like if music was playing backwards in your mind, but there was actually no sound to be heard.

It was like you had every organ, memory, and feeling taken from you. But you still felt all the pain. You still remembered.

It was like creating your own personal hell in the back of your mind and living there, because there? It was better than here, in reality.

Lyza sank deeper into the unconsciousness, her safe haven, her personal hell.

Memories, unwelcome hosts of the depths swarmed the girl, whom now had no control over anything. Now? She just had to sit, and wait. Wait for it to end. Again.

A small infant, perhaps four, or five, sat on her mothers knee, the house was bright with the light of the sun streaming through the open windows. Giggles rang through the spacious house, the pale child's mother smiled down at the innocence. Her bright eyes staring lovingly into the child's vibrant red, oh the love this woman had for her daughter, as she ran her strong fingers through her long silver hair, hair that had not been cut since her birth at request of her beloved.

Her face began to fall into an expression of sorrow as she heard a loud vehicle pass the house for the garage, "Lyza.." She cooed tears welling in her eyes as she choked back a sob, "Lyza baby... Mama loves you." Small thin hands reached up, cupping the woman's face as Little Lyza stared up at her, big eyes wide in confusion to why she sounded so scared. "I wuv mummy too.. and daddie." She added, her small voice breaking as she was confused.

The woman clutched the child to her chest her body shaking with silent sobs and tears that never leaked from her eyes, "Daddie loves you too.. He just doesn't know it yet." She whispered biting her lip as the door opened, holding her breath with her bottom lip trapped between her teeth as she heard her husband approach. With a sigh she set Lyza on a small chair and held a finger to her lips, reminding her to stay, and be silent. Nodding slowly Lyza agreed as her mother turned to the kitchen taking a pot from the stove to clean.

A large man slumped from the hall into the main room, he was quite hansom for someone who seemed so feared. Dark hair, bright eyes, lean figure, really the bell of the ball, a real catch which is hard to come by in those times. Hands shaking Lyzas mother continued to clean as though it was the only thing keeping her alive at this point, turning with a cloth in her hand to wipe the table she smiled pleasantly at her beloved. "Dear, how was the meeting?" She greeted in a lofty voice, far to light for comfort for Lyza.

Her fathers gaze swept the house as he smiled widely at his wife, "It was great, the stocks are up and.." His voice stopped as his gaze landed on the small child, a deep frown settling on his face as he looked at the disgrace before him. "And everything went fine." He muttered slipping into a comfortable recliner before slipping his feet onto the glass table that rested before it. After a few hours of silence besides her fathers occasional turn of the pages in the newspaper he found and the shuffling of her mothers cooking, Lyza was startled from her daydreams by her fathers bellowing voice. "Child. Come here."

His tone frightening the girl at the least, Lyza did as she was told, scooting off of the chair before nearing her father. The ominous moments before her father lowered his newspaper were nerve wrecking, his scowl made her wish she could melt into the ground or burst into tears. "What have you done all day hm?" He asked. Remaining silent Lyza simply pretended she was thinking back on the days events, this seemed to anger the tempered man as his eyebrows twitched and he began again, "Child. You answer me when I'm talking to you." His hand snaked out to grasp her hair in a painful grip, causing her to suck in a breath. "You hear me you little beast? You damned child." He growled.

"Y-yes daddie.." She breathed, thinking answering the right thing to do. Apparently not, her fathers eyebrows raised, and in that moment her father the 'nice catch' was the most hideous person alive. "You don't talk back to me. You understand?" He yelled, his grip on her hair tightening in her hair as she held back a sob. Nodding she closed her eyes holding her breath as she wished she could go back to daydreaming. "Good." He chuckled bringing his hand out of the mass of her hair to pat her gently on the head whist taking his feet from the table, after breathing a sigh, he was about to return to his news paper when he looked at the table to see it cluttered with dirt and mud, leaves and rocks, making it seem of filth.

His eyes sliding slowly to the child next to him, who now was again shaking in fear, "You disrespectful little bitch!" He seethed, "You tarnished my property, you.." He growled in anger as he again grabbed her by the hair, while slamming her head onto the tables main, causing a small crack to appear in the make. "You. You will clean this up. Spotless." He growled before lifting her head and repeating the process a few times as though he were potty training a dog. By now the glass had more noticeable cracks, and Lyza had begun to cry.

Releasing her with a sneer, he stood and began walking past, Lyza watching his shoes, shoes that had mud, and grime.... and rocks.... and leafs. She watched him walk away her body wracked with silent sobs as she heard his mutterings as he waltzed off, "Damn child should have been a boy." "All her fault." "Hm, I forgot to take me shoes off."

The memory began to fade inviting new to replace it as this was hardly the beginning of a daily happening for Lyza.

(Again with the memories.)
