Fantasy The Lost Treasure of Creation

Rin Nyx

One Thousand Club
There is a legend of an ancient treasure, an artifact leftover from creation, left here by the gods themselves...

This artifact, the Treasure of Creation, is said to have a great power, and has been found and lost again throughout the ages. It has led to the rise of kings, the downfall of nations, the building of great empires. This artifact can grant power, wealth, eternal youth, dreams that seem all but impossible to obtain. When found, the artifact grants a total of three wishes before it disappears again. Sometimes the artifact resurfaces quickly, while other times it stays hidden for a long, long time.

The most recent (known) occurrence of the Treasure of Creation being found is said to be three centuries ago, when it fell into the wrong hands and nearly caused the end of the world, before a group of heroes intercepted the artifact and used its last wish to save the world from destruction. Since then, no one has been able to find the artifact, though not for lack of trying.

Adventurers from all over the world travel in search of this lost artifact. Some are hired by others to find it, while others have their own motivations for the search. The quest for this artifact attracts all kinds, from sketchy thugs to royalty in disguise.

You are such an adventurer, searching for this mysterious artifact. You can choose to team up with others during your search, or compete against them in a race to try to get to it first. However you go about your search, your adventure is sure to be a dangerous one, whether exploring dungeons full of traps or keeping a close eye on any 'friends' that might betray you, proceed with caution.

Arya Tinuviel
The trees rustled softly as they swayed in the cool breeze, and the soft smell of orange blossoms filled the air. The sound of townspeople going about their business filled the streets of the small town as the sun warmed the cobblestones under their feet. The normal cadence of the townspeople grew to a hushed murmur following the path of a stranger walking through town.

Light blue hair caught the sun's shine as it swayed in the wind, and piercing red eyes set on soft, pale skin watched the townspeople carefully as they passed by. On the girl's back, a scythe that was taller than the girl herself was strapped, the blade gleaming in the sunlight. Still, the strangest part of this stranger wandering through town, was the small puddle of water that trailed along the ground behind her, seeping up through the ground and leaving a small, wet trail on the cobblestones behind her. The water would occasionally bubble up, especially as the girl passed through more crowded areas or managed to attract more attention from the townspeople.

The puddle followed the blue haired girl into a tavern, leaving a small trail of water on the wooden floor leading from the doorway and to the bar, where the girl sat down. The tavern, previously loud and noisy, had quieted down at the girl's entrance, and the water at the girl's feet bubbled nervously, though the girl's voice sounded confident and indifferent as she ordered a drink from the bartender. The girl, Arya, waited until the noise in the tavern slowly picked back up again, the water at her feet slowly coming to a calm stillness as it did.

The bartender placed a mug on the counter in front of Arya, and she accepted the drink before talking, beginning to prod for information. "I hear that there are the ruins of an ancient temple near this town," she told the bartender, pausing briefly while he confirmed the rumor's truth.

"Ay," the bartender nodded, "They lie about three miles to the south, near the edge of the Seher Desert, but recently all the adventurers who travel that way come back in rough shape...if they come back at all, that is."

"In rough shape?" Arya prodded, the puddle at her feet bubbling up just a little.

"Broken bones, deep cuts and bruises, most of them could barely walk by the time they returned. Most babbled incoherent nonsense when we asked what happened, but a few of them mentioned something about a monster that resides within those ruins. I would forget about those ruins if I were you, but if you are going that way, make sure to pack a lot of provisions. Wouldn't want to run out of water out there in the heat," the bartender told her, smirking as he glanced down at the bubbling puddle of water by the girl's feet before turning away.

Was that last part supposed to be a joke? Arya gave the bartender a small smile and thanked him, then sat back and took a sip of her drink, which was also bubbling slowly. Some sort of monster in the ruins, strong enough to turn away countless adventurers...Sounds like as good a place to search as any, she decided to herself. She was eager to set off after the ruins, but first, she decided she would finish her drink, then gather a pack. Even if the bartender was joking about the water, she didn't want to leave town unprepared.

((Ok, so this post turned out longer than I thought it would haha ^^''))

Ireth woke with a start from her soft bed. She breathed heavily as she sat up wiping the sweat from her forehead. "It was a justified kill and yet you still haunt me... curse me..." Ireth groaned under her breath. She swung her feet out of the bed and stood up going to the window. She was at the inn although she didn't remember making it there the previous night. Ireth shuddered at the memory of her friend who was now gone and it was all her fault. The elf shook her head and grabbed her belt with her sheathed dagger tying it around her waist. She slipped her boots on and headed out the door.

She walked down to the tavern when she paused looking down she had stepped in mud. "Odd" she said seeing how everything seemed dry around a trail. Ireth saw a blue haired girl walking and behind her a trail of water. "Even more Odd..." Ireth whispered and followed the trial. Of course it was leading to the tavern to which she was quite pleased since that was her intentional journey. She stepped inside and up to the bartender taking her seat. She didn't mean to eaves drop on the girl's conversation but it couldn't be helped. She thought about the ruins and wondered 'perhaps the treasure that i seek is hidden there.' she thought.

Keir Sullivan

A young man lurked in the corner of a busy tavern, black eyes gleaming as he surveyed the room. He wasn't there to buy anything. He couldn't afford that. No; he was watching and listening, hoping to pick up a good piece of information or spot someone who had had too much to drink and would have a hard time guarding their wallet. He had already spotted multiple likely targets, and was considering the best way to get in and out unseen. As he was waiting for a good distraction, shouting started at one side of the room. Two drunk men began to brawl, rolling around on the floor. Onlookers cheered for one or the other, and the noise level in the room increased greatly. Someone had left his unguarded bag on the table, waiting to be stolen from. Grinning, Keir began to inconspicuously pick his way through the crowd. Suddenly, though, the brawl stopped, and the tavern quieted. A young woman with blue hair had entered.

She moved to the bar, and the people eventually began talking amongst themselves again. Keir's chance was lost, though. He decided that the strange girl might have something interesting to say, and moved over to eavesdrop. As he lurked there, his ears caught some words that piqued his curiosity. Specifically, he heard mention of "ancient ruins." Places like that often had items of value. He decided that it might be in his interest to check it out.

Geir Brandr Ignatius
"Which way was it supposed to be again?" Geir mumbled to himself, frowning as he looked to either side of him. He was standing at a fork in a well-travelled dirt road, his arms crossed in front of him. The teal-haired man pondered his situation while the sun beat down on him, high in the sky.

"I think he said it was to the left of the fork," he mumbled out loud again, though he didn't sound very certain. He had recently been hired to find some sort of legendary treasure or something, and his patron had decided to send him to search some old mine. The mine was still in operation, but there were sections of the mine closed off due to safety hazards, and rumors were springing up recently of beasts emerging from the closed off areas and attacking the workers. According to some books and legends, the springing up of random beasts sometimes marked the presence of this legendary treasure...or so his patron had told him. Geir wasn't so sure the treasure even existed anymore, but at least he was getting paid good money to search for it.

"To the left it is," Geir finally decided, adjusting the holster with his two dual swords on his back before heading down the leftmost fork in the road. His open shirt swayed a little in the wind as he made his way towards the mining village.

Kokoro Himura
Large paws moved silently along the desert sands, a feline figure stalking its way across sandy dunes. A long, striped tail swished back and forth as the large, predatory cat walked, heading away from her home tribe, if it could be called that anymore. The tiger paused and glanced back in the direction from which she came, before heading forward once more. She wasn't sure where exactly she was going, but she had to do something. There was no way that she could leave her siblings in the hands of that dreadful man...

A frustrated growl escaped her lips as her tail swished angrily. Picking up the pace, the tiger began running across the sand, powerful legs propelling her forward across the dunes while her bright blue eyes watched carefully for the hint of the tombs she was heading towards. There was legend amongst her people of a great power that resided within the tomb of a great Seheran king, who had lived and died over 500 years ago. It was said that this power might have even been the famed artifact, the Treasure of Creation. The tomb was heavily fortified with traps to keep intruders out, of course, but that didn't matter. The tiger enkidu, Kokoro, had to try to find it, as it seemed to be her only hope.

Four months... Kokoro thought to herself as she bounded across the desert. I have four months before I have to be back here. Four months to try to find a solution. Four months to save them...and four months before I become a prisoner to him forever. The thought was chilling, and motivated the tiger to run faster, until finally, she caught a glimpse of the tomb in the distance. Closing the gap between her and her destination, Kokoro approached the tomb. The tomb was set into the side of a steep, rocky cliff nearing the edge of the desert, with towering stone monuments in the shape of various animals lining in rows and forming a sandy walkway towards the entrance, which was blocked off with a giant stone. This was, without a doubt, the tomb that she had been looking for. The tiger approached the blocked off entrance, blue eyes examining the giant boulder, wondering if it was possible for her to move it on her own.

Arya Tinuviel
Arya finished her drink and reached into a small pouch that was strapped to her side. Fishing out a few coins, she tipped the bartender and thanked him for the drink and information, then stood, adjusting the giant scythe that was still strapped to her back. As she began to calmly walk out of the tavern, the puddle of water trickled after her, slowly bubbling as she walked through the door and back onto the streets. Once she was outside of the tavern, Arya paused to let out a small sigh of relief. She had managed to get the information she was looking for, and had been able to leave without any trouble. She had been worried about the last part, especially after seeing the auras of many of the customers at the tavern.

Moving away from the door of the tavern, Arya began walking down the cobblestone street, the puddle of water again following behind her, though it was starting to thin out as the girl slowly became more comfortable with her surroundings. She stopped by a few shops, buying food and water for her journey towards the temple ruins, then began to head away from the town towards the south, the puddle of water slowly dissipating as she got further from the city, until it was no longer following her. Now, she just looked like a fairly normal adventurer with an oversized weapon, her features suggesting her to be of dragon origin, though her red eyes did not have the faint glow that was typical of the race. Here, away from the village, Arya paused to unstrap the oversized scythe from her back, preferring to hold on to it where she would have quicker access to it, in case she ran into trouble along the road. Now holding on to her weapon in her left hand, she continued on her way towards the ruins.

Keir Sullivan

As the blue haired girl was searching through her purse for an appropriate tip, Keir slipped quietly out of the door. It would look suspicious if he left right after her. He ducked into an alley to wait and tried to decide on a plan. Should he wait outside the ruins and attempt to steal any treasure from her when she came out? He immediately decided against this plan, as the large scythe on the girl's back scared him a bit. He could just follow her through the ruins and hope that she took care of any monsters and traps. He could also attempt to ally himself with her, as this might give him a better chance of protection, though he would have to split any findings. As he was considering his options, the girl walked by the alley that he stood in. Keir stepped out a minute afterwards and was startled by a trail of mud that his bare feet accidentally discovered. He noted that it hadn't been there earlier and assumed that it had something to do with the girl. He began following it, careful to avoid suspicion.

As he moved towards the edge of town, Keir continued his indecisiveness over his course of action. Both options had their benefits and faults. Eventually, he decided that he would leave it up to chance. When the girl slowed down and stopped, he passed her at a distance, and worked his way towards the desert and the ruins. By the time he reached them, night had fallen, and the silhouette of the temple loomed ominously against a starry backdrop. Keir could also see the sand dunes of the desert behind it. As he approached the entrance to the ruins, he could make out strange symbols etched into the stonework. Statues of ancient deities stood on either side, most missing a head or limb. He couldn't help but laugh a little at the pedestal with only a pair of feet on top. There was just something comical about it. He wandered around the outside of the temple for a short time, looking at the stonework and statues, before sitting down to wait in front of the entrance. He figured that the girl could run into him, and hoped that her reaction might help him decide on a course of action.

Ireth watched a boy leave the tavern and then the girl got up and left. She stayed quiet as she finished her drink and left not too long after. She smirked seeing it wasn't hard to find where the girl went off to with the water trailing her.

The elf noticed she wasn't the only one trailing the girl and decided it was best to keep her distance. Although, she wondered what this girl was all about to have another follower, unless he too was in search of the ruins.

❀❀❀ Unila Crys-Feathri ❀❀❀
Unila was becoming more and more puzzled as she stared at the map in her hands. Which way was North? East? Her expression began to fall, she was confused at what to do, she was lost. However, in the distance, a teal haired figure caught her eye. Dashing over, as he came into clearer view, she noticed it was a tall male, with dual swords attached to his back. Walking in front of him, not obstructing, but enough to announce her presence, she gave a little smile. Her silver wand twinkled on her thin belt, as the sun's rays blazed heavily upon them. "If it's not too much trouble, do you mind telling me where this village is?" She pointed towards a small dot on the map, a mining village.

It was her next location to search, as supposedly a mine riddled with beasts might hold what she was looking for. It was a lead, despite how vague it was. The dry wind sifted through her white hair, a beautiful purity amidst the deep colours surrounding her. She tucked a few stray locks behind her ear, as she watched patiently for his reply. Her bright red eyes locked on to his golden ones, previously overlooked in the confusion. They were dragonic in nature, and felt as if they could pierce the soul. Looking away, slightly distracted by the dust strewn over her light-teal dress, similar in colour to the man's hair, she brushed it off swiftly but carefully, especially with the laced sleeves and collar.

Geir Brandr Ignatius
As Geir walked farther down the road, he became aware of someone nearby. Sure enough, a moment later a young woman stepped into view, walking onto the road in front of him. Gold eyes watched the girl carefully, taking in the bright white hair and bright red eyes. The girl's eyes vaguely reminded the dragon of the magma in the volcano he lived on in his childhood.

GeirFace.jpg

Blinking, Geir realized that the girl was asking him a question and holding a map up to him. Still silent and expressionless, he turned his softly glowing eyes towards the point on the map that the girl indicated.
Oh, that's where I'm headed...why is she going to a place like that? he thought absently. Slowly, though, his face changed from its neutral expression to one that was much more annoyed. ...I should have turned right, he realized as he looked at the map further.

Realizing that he had been silent far longer that what would normally be considered comfortable, Geir finally spoke. "Ah, that's this way. It's not too far, I'll take you there," he offered, pointing back the way he had come. He didn't mention the fact that the mining village was where he had intended to go in the first place.

@VioletShadow ((So, I read your post right before work and ended up doodling Geir's expression on a post-it note xD ))

Arya Tinuviel
Arya had let out another small sigh of relief as the first follower had decided to pass her along the road when she had gotten her scythe out. She continued walking down the path, making her way to the desert, though she had the feeling that she was still being followed, which put her on edge. Keeping it out of her mind at the present, she decided to just keep following the road, though she was glad for the large scythe that she held in her hand. After a long walk, Arya arrived at the temple just as the sky was beginning to darken enough to see some stars in the sky.

Turning her head up towards the towering stone deities, dark red eyes took in the sights of the temple ruins, closing briefly while the young woman took in the energy of the place. Turning towards the entrance of the temple as she opened her eyes, the girl paused, noticing the man who had passed by her on the road earlier.
Oh, I was hoping that no one would be here...do I say something? What if talking just annoys them? What if he's planning on attacking me? Wait, no, he probably would have tried that on the road earlier. Besides... This train of thought continued for a while, as Arya stood by the statues feeling awkward, though her face was rather expressionless, save for the fact that her red eyes were watching the man carefully for any sign of movement. The desert floor was dry from lack of rain, and there was no real humidity in the air, or else Arya was sure she would have attracted what little water there was into a bubbling mess. The water in the pouch at her side was bubbling quickly in its container, but it was, at least, hidden from view.

Keir Sullivan

Keir's black eyes followed the blue haired girl's movements as she approached. He wondered what she would do. He certainly hoped that she wouldn't start swinging that huge scythe around; his little knife would be completely ineffective against something like that. Besides, he was still feeling tired and a little dizzy after that long walk earlier. She paused, and Keir could sense that she was waiting for him to make a move. Still sitting down, he closed his eyes and yawned widely. It was hardly a threatening action, and he hoped that the girl wouldn't freak out.

From his position on the ground, he looked up at her and grinned. "Hey there, traveller. Are you on your way into the ruins?" He asked. Realizing that the question sounded slightly strange on its own, he decided to add on to it. "I heard that there are monsters inside, and that it's dangerous. I had been hoping to do a little exploring, but I doubt that I could handle it alone, as I'm kind of frail and have only a knife for defense. I was sort of hoping for some assistance..." He trailed off, unsure what else to say.

❀❀❀ Unila Crys-Feathri ❀❀❀

Unila examined the man's expression as he gazed upon the map. His golden eyes reflected the bright rays of sunlight, practically blinding her. As his face began to tense in annoyance, she began to fluster in her mind.
Did I do something wrong? Should I apologize? What should I do? A small frown of confusion filled her face, as a few stray drops of sweat rolled down. Which wasn't aided by the growing temperature in the air. Eventually, her daze of questions was broken by the man's offer. A small sigh of relief escaped her lips, as she smiled softly. He doesn't sound angry or annoyed... Her eyes lit up as she replied, "Thank you!" she spoke excitedly. As she began to walk with him, side-by-side, she hummed a sweet, but short tune, as a memory of someone precious to her. Her mind began to wander, as nostalgia took over her body, shaking it with regret. Snapping out of it, she distracted herself from the silence by asking a question. "If you don't mind telling me, could I know your name? You can call me Unila, or Ila for short." She smiled brightly, in an attempt to escape her mind and the past. It was a hard task.

Ireth was astonished but the temple she came upon not too long after Arya. "Well this looks eventful" she muttered watching the other follower sitting up ahead. She rolled her eyes at the notion of assistance.

She was on a mission and didn't want to be bothered with anyone especially with the nonsense of an alliance. If the treasure was truly there then she would find it herself not willing to split such a spoil with another.

The elf ignored the two and headed towards the entrance. Monsters didn't scare her. She passed them not looking either in the eye not wanting to bring attention to herself.

Geir Brandr Ignatius
Geir walked alongside the humming girl, mind wondering in its own thoughts as they passed the fork in the road that Geir had been at earlier, this time heading down the correct path that lead to the small mining village. The man absently listened to the tune that the white-haired girl was humming, glancing over at her when she stopped the tune. He stayed silent until the white haired girl started talking to him, then he turned his gaze towards her, gold eyes watching as she spoke. His mouth twitched in the hint of a smile as she introduced herself. "Nice to meet you, Ila-for-short," he started, raising one eyebrow and giving a small, mischievous smile. "You may call me Geir," he added before turning his attention back to the road. He walked a few more steps, then asked, "So, what business does a girl such as yourself have at this village, anyway? I hear that beasts have been emerging from the mine, making the area dangerous for travelers."

Arya Tinuviel
Arya relaxed a little as the man sitting at the entrance to the ruins started speaking. The man seemed as though he intended no harm. Besides, Arya could probably overpower him without much trouble, unless he planned to use some sort of sneak attack on her. Still, it might be useful to have someone to watch her back, as long as he wasn't planning on stabbing it later. While Arya pondered the man's request, an elf woman passed by her, heading towards the temple entrance. So I did have another follower. She doesn't seem interested in talking, though, Arya thought, watching the girl walk by and avoiding eye contact. Having another person searching these ruins could be troublesome, but it looks like I'll just have to deal with it.

Finally deciding on a course of action, the young woman spoke to the sitting man. "You can tag along, but it will likely be dangerous. I hope you're good with that knife, because I expect you to help out if there's trouble," she told him. After another moment's thought, she added, "I'm only after one thing in there. You can have whatever treasure you find, save for that." She hoped this addendum would help curb any thoughts of back stabbing that the man may or may not have thought of, since she would not be a threat to the majority of the riches in the temple. After stating her terms, she waited for the man's response, feeling slightly impatient now that there was another contender in their midst. She wanted to get inside and start searching before the elf woman got too far ahead of them.

Ireth heard Arya speak her terms to the man but paid no mind. Having others inside wouldn't be so bad especially since there were rumors of monsters and beasts. Before too long Ireth took in a deep breath and walked inside the temple. She had to wait a few moments to let her eyes get adjusted to the dark.

The elf tensed "there's great magic here... Dark magic." She whispered out loud. Her hand was on the hilt of her dagger ready to be yanked out at any sign of danger. By the entrance was a torch and as Ireth stepped close it suddenly burst into flames. "Ah!" She chimed and stepped back calming her nerves. Dark magic made her uneasy it was what got her friend into trouble before Ireth was forced to kill her. "It's ok" she told herself and reached out for the torch pulling it off the wall and walked deeper inside.

Keir Sullivan

It shocked Keir that the elf woman could simply walk past them into the ruins. He was sitting right in front of the entrance, and she couldn't have passed at a distance more than a few meters away. He was glad that she hadn't been after him, as he had sensed her behind him, but felt a little more impatient now. He hoped she wouldn't take all of the loot; the amount of money he could make off of those valuables would likely be able to keep him fed for months. The blue haired girl's response stirred him from his thoughts.

She was offering to give him most of the treasure if he in turn stayed loyal and watched her back. Keir really couldn't say no to that. The fact that she was willing to give him everything except for one thing piqued his interest, though. What could be so valuable and important to her? As a likely answer came to him, it only brought more questions, but he kept them down. Realizing that he had paused for longer than he had meant to, and that the elf was probably already claiming the treasure that he figured was rightfully his, Keir decided to give the blue haired girl his answer. "Sounds good to me," he replied, and started moving towards the entrance. "I'm Keir, by the way. Keir Sullivan. Thanks for the help."

As he entered the ruined temple, his black eyes had to adjust to the dark. It was fairly chilly, and he was glad to have his jacket. He could make out some torches lining dark passageways. He also sensed an evil in the air that made him shiver. A little ways away, a torch suddenly flared up, and he jumped in surprise. The elf was standing next to it, looking a little shocked. Keir watched her grab the torch and continue down one of the passageways. He decided to grab one as well, and this time was prepared for the sudden lighting of the torch nearest to him. He took it and prepared to move on as soon as the blue haired girl came over.

❀❀❀ Unila Crys-Feathri ❀❀❀

As Geir smiled, Unila couldn't help but smile back. Making someone happy was a great joy to her. Her mind began to wonder, despite Geir's sly remark, oblivious and therefore nodding silently. After a few moments, it finally clicked within her mind as Geir began to speak again. With a little giggle, she replied "Okay 'Gear', I'm currently looking for treasure! Not for myself, but for people I care about." Her eyes misted a little, but she still smiled brightly. She is a very blunt person, hating lies and sly evasion. Her honesty here is a pure example of that. She began to hum her tune once again, but stopped as she decided to ask a question of her own. "Where were you headed Gear?" Her new found nickname for him pronounced clearer than the rest of her question. "You were heading the other way, so I feel bad about getting you to take me the complete opposite direction." She explained, looking up at him with curiosity, a reflective gleam in her eyes.

As she excitedly passed over a short slope, a village caught her eye, too far away for adequate detail to be seen, but well enough to be able to see stone buildings. Brick was also present, but much less of it. Unila squinted lightly, bending her head forwards in an attempt to examine more of it, but eventually gave up and returned to a comfortable walking position.

Arya Tinuviel
"Arya Tinuviel," the girl replied with her own name before adding, "nice to meet you, Keir." She began walking towards the temple entrance, pausing before she walked inside. The energy she had been feeling earlier while looking at the statues was stronger the closer she got to the ruins. As she stepped inside, she repressed a shudder, wide red eyes scanning the landscape. There's so many dark auras here, she noted, surprised. Most of the time, auras were limited to staying around a person, but certain events and powers can leave its mark on places as well, leaving a lingering aura around it. Still, even then the auras were usually limited and more difficult to see. For Arya, the lingering aura around these ruins was strong, almost to the point of clouding her vision as the dark colors whirled and wisped in the air like stagnant smoke.

Realizing that Keir was waiting for her, Arya snapped out of her thoughts and took a few steps towards him, noticing that he had grabbed a torch. That should help them find their way, though even the flames had a certain glow about them that made Arya uncomfortable. Absentmindedly reaching for another torch from the wall, the girl hardly noticed the flames flare up as she grabbed one for herself, too busy examining the area around her. "We should head this way, but carefully," she stated in a hushed tone, using the butt end of her scythe in her left hand to point down a dark hallway that was half-collapsed. Arya wasn't really looking at the condition of the hallway itself, however; she was taking in the deep reds and blacks that swirled more vibrantly in that direction that only she could see. It likely had more dangerous monsters or traps in that direction, which probably meant greater treasures, such as the one she was looking for. At least, that was what Arya reasoned, she wasn't particularly certain, but it was as good a place to start as any.

Geir Brandr Ignatius
Geir was about to correct the girl on the pronunciation of his name, before realizing that the girl was saying it that way on purpose. Instead, he let out a playful, exaggerated sigh as she pronounced his name, shaking his head and letting out a small laugh. "Searching for treasure, huh? Kind of a dangerous occupation there, not that I'm one to talk," he replied, shrugging. He didn't seem to notice the girl's eyes watering, or if he did he didn't mention it, instead looking ahead at the road in front of him. When Unila asked him about where he was headed, and mentioned him walking the other way, Geir paused, debating whether to tell the truth or to cover up his mistake. Well, she was blunt with me, might as well, he thought. He let out a small, embarrassed chuckle and reached his hand up to rub the back of his neck. "Well, actually..." he started, "I was heading for this mining village myself, and took a wrong turn. I'd be pretty lost right now if you hadn't shown up with a map," he grinned, shrugging his shoulders.

Turning his attention forward again, Geir noticed that the village was coming into view. It was still in the distance, but it shouldn't be too much longer before they got to it. The small village was lined by dark, rocky hills as what little grass there was lining the road became thinner and more sparse leading up to the area.

Cynbal Dangrol

Cynbal swept through the streets silently, keeping his eyes steady, and his steps slow. Heading straight threw was his goal, and not to be bothered by any strangers. But also to pick up anything he would catch with his ears about anything mysterious. A bar caught his gaze, and his feet followed, sliently slipping into the bar, he came up to a croner, where a man was busy cleaning glasses.

"Can I get anything for ye'?" The man grumbled, and Cynbal held up a finger in reply. With a roll of the eye, the man moved down to the next customer. Listening to the multiple conversations buzzing around the room, only a few things on the more mysterious side grabbed his attention. 'Ruins', 'Monster', And 'Dangerous.' And even 'Water.' The strange trio seemed to belong in multiple conversations, yet the water could just be coincidental. They were in a bar after all. But never leave out anything.

"Are ye ready now sir?" The man came back to Cynbal's seat. But when the bartender looked up, the door was just swinging closed, and Cynbal's seat was empty.

Cynbal kept his walk though the town, slightly faster now that he had more information. 'Now only to gain supplies, which I have all I need for two weeks worth food and water. I should survive.' He thought, before deciding rest, when he was on the outskirts of the town. 'I can slow down now. Maybe more will be on the same journey as I.'

Eri Zabelan

Eri looked down at a buzzing town. Recent rumors of many treasure hunters made her itchy, so she had come here. A town full of information. But deciding against going in, Eri watched from above in her humanoid air form. Moving above heads and buildings. Spying a flightless kite in the corner of her eye Eri smiled, swooping down to its level, three feet off the ground. 'My my don't cry dear.' She thought warmly to the frustrated child atempting to work it. Laying under the kit she pushing it up gently, until it caught the stronger wings above. Playing with the kite in the sky, so it went back and forth and under and around, Eri giggled alongside the child.

'Time for me to find something.' She sighed, noticing the day passing away. Leaving the child to its play, Eri blew through the streets, catching bits and pieces of conversations. A few she noticed were asking for the Ruins in the Mountains. 'Oh what fun.' She thought. 'A monster.' A small smile came to her as she flew back up into the air.

Ireth listened to the two and turned back to see what hallway they were going to go through. She smirked it wasn't hers and so she continued.

The passage way was long and seemed to never end. Finally she came to a doorway on the side and turned to go inside. She cringed seeing bones in the corner and treasures of gold and gems. None seems to interest the elf "probably cursed." She muttered.

She examined every inch of the room before satisfied that what she sought wasn't there. She walked to the doorway to continue down the passage way when she saw something fly by 'a shadow?' She thought and put her hand on the hold of her dagger. It came by again this time blowing the torch out. Ireth dropped the torch and backed up into the room breathing heavily as she heard a growl. She tried to stay quiet backing up into a wall. Ireth screamed when she felt a sharp claw dig into her ankle and she was suddenly being dragged. The elf waisted no time in unsheathing her dagger and pulled herself back swinging blindly at what could be dragging her. A howl was heard and she was let go. She pulled herself away the direction she was pulled and gasped seeing the torch on the ground alight again. "What sorcery is here?" She whispered crawling to torch.

Keir Sullivan

As Keir heard which passageway he was to go down, he felt a little uneasy. The fact that it was collapsed while others were in much better shape was unsettling, and it seemed darker to him than the others, if that was possible. He had also noticed that the elf had come back to listen to their choice, and was glad that she didn't decide to pick theirs to get in the way. He wondered why Arya had chosen such an obviously dangerous route. It didn't take him long to realize that greater peril generally equated to greater reward. Glad to have an ally at his side, Keir began to pick his way down the passage.

Jagged rubble littered the stone floor, and half-destroyed columns lined the walls. He had to watch where he put his feet carefully, or else risk injury. Multiple times he nearly tripped but was able to keep himself upright and off of the floor. Larger obstacles also presented themselves. Keir had to struggle a little to pull himself over the top of a wide fallen pillar that blocked their path. He hoped that it wasn't too hard on Arya. The passage seemed to go on forever. Eventually, he reached a point where there was a doorway and smaller hall to the side. He was just beginning to ask Arya which way she thought they should go when a creature leaped out from the shadows behind one of the many stone columns.

Arya kept her eyes wide and alert as she carefully picked her way through the crumbled hallway behind Keir. She was watching her step carefully, but still found ways to stumble occasionally in the rubble, though she was always quick to catch herself before actually falling. One fallen column gave her trouble in particular, however. Keir had only just managed to pull himself over the column, and Arya was all of two inches shorter. Cursing under her breath as she struggled to reach the top so that she could pull herself over the damned piece of rubble, the girl eventually let out a frustrated sigh and used her scythe to help her. Using the blade of the scythe to hold on to the top of the pillar, the girl then used the pole as leverage to pull herself up just enough for her to grab the top of the column and pull herself over and to the other side. That can't be good for my blade, she thought bitterly, water at her feet bubbling up and starting to steam with her annoyance. Wait, water?

The girl glanced down, noting that there was a liquid of some sort pooling around her feet. Is there water somewhere in the temple? she wondered, bringing her torch closer to the puddle. The liquid shone a deep red, like the color of the girl's eyes, and reflected the orange glow of the torch that was lighting it. Blood, she noted, her expression grim as the pool swirled and twisted in reaction to her, starting to raise up a little bit in various floating blobs, like a lava lamp. Realizing that she was falling behind, Arya put the blood out of her mind and ran to catch up to Keir, blobs of blood floating behind her while the liquid left on the floor constantly moved to pool behind her, leaving a bloody trail behind her. The girl caught up to the man fairly shortly, just in time to see that they had reached a doorway and smaller hall. Before Arya could really get a good look down either pathway, however, a creature leaped out from behind a stone column. Barely having time to react, Arya raised her scythe, bracing it with two hands to defend against the attack, while calling "Watch out!" to her companion. The blood following the girl seemed to leap into action as well, the blobs in the air moving quickly towards the creature, though they would do little more than temporarily blind it at that speed.
