Fantasy The life of a lab-rat

Evangeline smiled slightly to herself as the boys whispered in front of her clearly unaware of her improved hearing. So really now one has noticed me.... Instead of giving me improved senses powers it feels like I was given invisibility powers....lol. She thought as she lightly chuckled.

"Um it is quite rude to whisper I front of someone....you never now if that person can hear you, and also it is just plain rude." She chuckled again at the end trying to lightin the mood so they would not ask about her blindfold. She could feel the constant movement of waves in the water causing her to be lightly dizzy from all the movement around her but she did not let it show.

Kito simply nodded in agreement before flying even lower this time. If they were going to find animals or fruit flying over a extremely wooded area might not be the best idea. He finally touch down on the ground and began to walk slowly and carefully. He scanned the area for any nearby animals or fruits. His search was coming up empty. Maybe, Miziki had found something useful.

Vinny

"I'm not a baby!" Vinny snapped at the boy. "I can do it. Give it to me." He grabbed the piece of cloth, rubbed it in his hands to warm it up, and once is was limp and warm instead of rigid and cold, he tied it tightly just above his cut. "See?" He then quickly got ahold of a small shard of something white that was stuck in the cut, and jerked it out. He cried out at he did this, but was quiet in a moment. Vinny ripped off another strip of fabric, this time from his shirt, and tied it onto the cut. After he did this, he also wrapped it in the cloth from Sage's shirt, tying it tightly.

Miziki Kurone

Miziki clung tighter as he descended to the ground, keeping her eyes open for well..anything of interest. Which was mostly trees until he landed. Then more trees. Once he landed she looked up at the trees, seeing if any of them actually had fruit. Luckily, several of them DID seem to be banana trees. "Ooh banana trees!" She shouted excitedly, pointing up at the nearest tree with them.

Kito stared up at the banana tree as Miziki pointed it out. Bananas actually sounded good right about now. He was sure the others would agree at this time. He looked at Miziki and said, "Alright, go ahead and grab some. Let's take those back to the group. I'm sure they would love some fruit about now." as he waited for Miziki to grab some of the sweet fruits.

"Umm..I...can't really reach them unless you fly up to them." She replied. There was no way she was transforming back to her hybrid form on top of him. Even then, she wasn't sure she could reach them. Her next thought was transforming back in front of everyone else on the beach..she didn't really think this through at all. She guessed she could get Kito to move her clothes to a more secluded spot, she just hoped they weren't trampled and covered in sand by now.

Kito quickly spread his wings as he flew upwards and stayed in a sort of hover. Once Miziki grabbed them, Kito flew up above the treeline and began to fly back to the beach. He flew much slower this time so the bananas wouldn't fly off. Once he made it back, he let Miziki off as he said, "Last stop." before turning back into his regular form. He held the bananas in his hands as he gently placed them into the crate. He then turned to look everyone and announced, "Me and Miziki found some bananas. We put them in the crate over there. There's also enough wood to supply a village and a waterfall. So water and shelter are taken care of."

Sage

"Yeah, you certainly can tie that around your arm," Sage responded, pointing to the makeshift bandage, "But, if you leave that on there without cleaning it, it'll get infected," the dog-boy would have taken the cloth off of Vinny's arm and cleaned the cut off for him, but water froze faster than most other things when it was on him. All that would do was make the child's injury cold, "Come on, I'll get you a water bottle, you can clean it. Don't trip over your tail again... why is it just made out of bones?"

He walked with the child over to the crate, and pulled out a water bottle to hand to him. Yeah, great plan.

He blinked at Kito and Miziki and they descended from the sky from a direction that, from where Sage was standing, put the sun directly behind them, harelding bananas from wherever they had been, put them in the basket, and them gave some sermon about how they had found water, as well as wood for shelter. Damn, what an entrance Sage's imagination made this.

I'm okay now, my ability is taking over. Levi replied. Without removing his gaze on the girl, he waited for any hostile response. Levi thought that there is a possibility that she could be an undercover person from the facility that is just been acting to be like one of them. Levi felt surprised and puzzled when the girl chuckled. The girl said that she can hear them whispering. There's quite a distance from them to where she is standing, and Levi is quite impressed with this. Levi felt a little embarrassed and had to look away. We're not talking about anything bad, aren't we? Levi said, as he made a quick glance over the boy. Levis shoulder's drooped and it is obvious when looking at his face that he is not in stress now.

He noticed that there's a crate near them. Levi turns and walks towards it. He saw some packaging containing a little amount of half-assed food, water, and clothes. There are some that have their names on it. The clothes in the crate were nothing fancy, just
black pants and a long sleeved shirt. He quickly changes and tries it out. It is not too shabby, and Levi like wearing long sleeved attires. It made him think that the guys from the facility do pay attention to their choice of clothing. He looks towards the two, he raises one of his arms and signals them to come. Yo! Check this out! He calls out. Levi takes out his part of the ration, and checks the crate if there were still anything that has his name on. He then brings it on the shaded part near the tree lines.

Behind him, he could hear fluttering of wings, large dragon wings. He heard someone said that they have found some bananas. He casually walked towards the crate. He rests his hands on its edge and stared at it for a few seconds as he checks it out. Well, at least we have something to eat other than those tasteless rations. He said. Levi looks at the two who brought the bananas, and a mischievous smile forms on his face. Though, we can't eat a third of the bananas, it's not even close to being ripe. He teased.

Miziki Kurone

Miziki quickly grabbed a bunch of bananas, she almost fell off of Kito from the sudden influx of weight but with a bit of effort she struggled them onto his back. That done they soon flew back to the rest, Miziki was glad they'd managed to get some food and stuff. They'd be able to survive for the forseeable future, at-least. Who knows, they might even build their own tiny village. Soon enough they landed and Miziki hopped off when instructed. She walked alongside Kito over to the box, proud of herself for finding the bananas for them. That was, at-least, until Levi claimed a good portion of the bananas weren't ripe. "
I..I'm sorry. I thought they were ripe. I just grabbed the closest bunch I could that looked ripe.." She told him, eyes lowering to the sand. Oh well..at-least they knew banana trees grew here. "Umm..Kito. Can you help me move my clothes somewhere so I can change back?" She asked, looking up at Kito.

Ivory approached the group, unusually nimble on her feet, and frowned at the mentioning of the inadequate bananas, she tilted her head at Vincent slowly. Her scared face made her a sight for sore eyes and they crinkled from her scowling expression, "don't tease her, she tried her best." The was a long pause as the young women watched them before she asked, "where am I? Who are you?"

Jesse was leaning against a rock when the dragon descended from the skies, landing upon the beach with a heavy thud and sending fine particles of sand swirling around him. Just the sight of him made her want to claw out his reptilian eyes. As she thought about this the claw marks on her left arm tingled uncannily as she remembered having to tear off large chunks of her flesh in her need to escape. She hadn't taken off the bandage since, but it didn't take a doctor to know that she would have grotesque scars.

While she glowered angrily towards the group, injured and outcast, the others flocked towards the dragon as if he was the bloody Messiah.

"Bananas for all!" She grumbled, mocking his words. She made no movement to get up.

In truth she wasn't hungry, nor was she lacking for food thanks to the extra provisions she had snagged from the supply bin, resting inside one of her pockets. No one seemed to miss them anyway.

'Let the sheep have their shepherd. The lone wolf will fare better when things go to shit.' she thought while absentmindedly drawing in the sand with a stick.

Timothy walked over to the crate. He pulled out the shirt (Redirect Notice) and pants ( Redirect Notice ) with his name on it. He quickly slipped on the shirt and pants. He continued looking through the crate, wondering if there was anything else with his name on it.

Vinny

"I can clean it later...when my mommy gets here. She's a nurse. She can do it." He walked away from Sage, and over to Jesse. He looked her up and, before speaking quietly. "My mommy's a doctor. She's coming, but I can help you until she gets here." He reached forward to pull off one of the bandages, but then thought better of it. "You have to keep them clean, and you need new bandages..."

When Vincent reached out a hand towards her bandage the look in Jesse's eyes was akin to what a lion might seem when you got too close to the bars. Fortunately the kid had enough brains in his round little head that he thought twice about it, or maybe he just learned from the last time. Regardless of which ever factor it was, the wounded woman's cold eyes never faltered as they stared out from their darkened sockets.

She hadn't looked in a mirror since her experiment but her face was much more pale than the day she had fought with the dragon, not to mention some areas on her arms and body had become splotched purple, green, and grey where her resistance to the experiment had earned her a fair amount of badges. Haunting would be a word she would describe herself if she could see her current state of appearance, but the icy look in her eyes hinted that it would be a much different matter if someone else was to comment on this.

"You again? Don't you have something better to do than gawk at me?" she said sharply before glimpsing down at her bandage. It was plainly obvious that the wound was long over due to have a bandage change, but she would never openly agree.

Her grey eyes flicked back to Vinny "It's fine, kid, I can manage myself without a snot-nosed boy."She was going to end the conversation there, but then she remembered the boy's mention of his mother.

"Your mommy, huh? Tell me... does she work at the lab.?" There was something cold in her voice, but then again Jesse always had thorns in her words.

@Scattered Ambitions

Kito looked at the bananas and sighed. "Well, some are better than none." he said with a short grin. He sat on the ground until Miziki asked him to move her clothes for her. Kito simply stood up and said,"Sure, come on." before he picked up her clothes and took them to a isolated spot on the beach. He dropped them off and waved as he turned around and walked off, leaving Miziki to her own devices. He returned back to the more populated section of the beach and shot Jesse a glare as he returned back to the crate. He took a seat again and sighed, maybe they'd have to start setting up camp soon. He thought about it, and began to sketch in the sand of what he thought their little village would look like. He drew one of the little huts far off from the others while the ones that were huddled together seemed to look nicer than the one that was away from the rest.

Vinny

"No, she doesn't work at the lab. She works at a hospital. And are you sure you know how to clean them? I could help..." He trailed off, as he looked at her arms. He was about to say something, but then sat down next to Jesse. "You look like my sister. She had those arm things too." He meant the tattoos, not the injuries. "She also didn't want any help from anyone, like you." He looked at her, a solemn look on his little face. It actually looked quite funny, on him. "It's better you know...if you take the help. My sister had to leave cause she didn't. But she's coming back. She's coming to get me, just like my mommy and dad." He smiled brightly at the last part.

(P.S. his sister is dead)

((:<))

Jesse crossed her arms at the boy's offer of aid and when he mentioned her similarities to his sister her eyes narrowed slightly, but she listened anyways. She was surprised that he could remember the details of his life so clearly, whereas she could barely understand her anger.

His mother was not part of the lab, a shame; this one was no different than the rest. It was painfully pitiful that he still held on to the cliche 'mommy's going to be coming back. She didn't really mean to leave me.'. Kids would believe anything.

That grin on his face made things so much worse.

Most people would feel pity for the poor child or smile and nod and tell the boy that his mother will show up eventually. Jesse was not most people.

"Forget it kid." Jesse said while leaning back against the rock. "Nobody is coming back for you, so stop it with your whiny nonsense. Not daddy, not sissy, and definitely not your dear, sweet mother. You are like the rest of us; just another unwanted orphan given up for the glory of science. Your parents probably gained a fat chunk of change from this, well worth one little snobby kid."

"That's ok. You can believe what you want." He ignored her, despite the urge to yell or throw a tantrum. He laid back on the sand next to her, and looked up at the sky. "It sure is pretty out here, isn't it? I've never been to a..." he couldn't come up the correct word for a moment, "beach before. What about you?"

Miziki was glad she had Kito as a friend. If she had to be honest she thought a lot of them didn't like her that much, probably due to the fight. In her defense she was only defending Kito, nothing more. But, oh well. When he said he'd help her she nodded and followed after him. "
Thanks Kito." She replied. When he was gone she changed back and shook the sand out of her clothes, luckily it seemed no one touched them so they weren't covered. Once dressed she reluctantly walked back to where everyone else was at, though she sat down beside Kito observing his drawings as he made them. "What are you drawing Kito?" She asked.

Ivory watched the interaction her brow furrowing, "why put the lad down like that?" She asked her voice a monotone authoritative one, she scowled slightly at Jesse. Her eyes were cold and firm set, one had a milky sheen over it like a dusty blanket with a scar leaving track marks though it, her eye lid and face. "He had hope, it may not be realistic to you but it is to him," she didn't feel as though she was speaking out if teen despite not knowing either of them.

(hey, I just met you and this is crazy, but here's my number so call me Aimee! lol)

He still clung onto the false hope, such a naive little orphan. Jesse shook her head in disbelieve at the boy but didn't care enough to continue the argument. "Okay kid, whatever floats your boat." she grumbled. At least he could think about it now that someone planted the seeds of doubt. She had hoped that the little brat would have scampered off by now but she was displeased to find that he was still plopped down on the sand beside her despite her harsh words. Stubborn little guy.

Trying her best to ignore him, Jesse folded her hands behind her head and leaned against the rock. Then he commented on the loveliness of the beach and whether or not he had been to one.

"I dunno, kid." she said curtly, her eyes closed as she tried to regain some energy. "And I don't care." In truth she couldn't remember squat about a beach like this, making the conversation very uncomfortable. There was a disturbing hole in her memory, yet somehow she found the sound of the sea rather familiar, but the warm breeze caressing her face was somewhat of a stranger to her. She was contemplating about getting up to move away from the kid when some patchwork freak began chastising her people skills.

"What's it to you, Patchface?" Jesse said without moving, though one of her grey eyes opened to a slit to see the new person. At least she wasn't the only one who looked like shit. "Hope? is that what you call it?" she chuckled. "No. He needs to stop with all this bull... life if not a fantasy-land. Orphans don't get their parents back and dreams hardly come true. Dreams are great when you are asleep but when you wake up you need to face reality. The world is a cruel place, and if you don't want to accept that then you had best go back to sleep."

She lazily waved her hand towards the half-blind girl. "Now go." she said. "And you can bring wonder-boy with you." Perhaps Frankenstein would take care of him.

(Why did I make her so mean :C)
"I my self agree with you personally, sweet heart," she crouched so they were eye level, "however, I don't go pushing around other people because I disagree." Reaching forward her metal hand wrapped around the girls injured arm gently at first but pressure slowly increased and Ivory showed no emotion, "now, comment on my appearance one more time," the young woman said calmly, "and I won't be the only patch face."

Vinny

Vinny had been watching the two girls go back and forth, and hadn't spoken until Ivory grabbed Jesse's arm. At that he jumped up. "Don't touch her like that!" He beagn trying to wrech the girl's metal arm off of Jesse, but to no avail. "I'm ok. You don't need to protect me from her, I can deal with it." He turned to Jesse, and continued. "And all I want to do is help you. Why won't you take it? What's wrong with you?"

@JustCallMeAmiee

Jesse's eyes turned into chips of ice when the half-robotic woman gripped onto her arm with a metallic hand. Unbelievable pain surged up her arm like a wildfire and she could feel specks of moisture growing where the wound was reopening. She released a hiss of pain through clenched teeth as she glared at the woman with a look that could curdle milk. As the pressure increased she could feel anger swelling. The agony was making her dizzy as well, but she forced herself to not faint in front of Robocop.

Then her eyes found the metallic arm, its silvery (forgive me if its another color) surface shimmering where the sun caught its edge. Metal.

"You should listen to the boy, pretty" she grunted through clenched teeth.

A faint blue glow began to trickle from Jesse's arm and onto the metallic arm. From Ivory's point of view it might begin to tingle oddly or feel numb if she can detect that sort of thing. But for Jesse, she was beginning to feel its presence as she started to possess the metal and soon the grip would begin to loosen slightly.

Meanwhile Jesse's right arm slowly touched the carving she had made in the sand, which when her fingers made contact with the sand, started to shift very slightly.

She could feel her energy draining from this, but she was more focused on fending off the half-robotic girl.
