"...Your weapon?"
The angel gave him a curt nod. "Yes. It is a holy spear forged by the embers of my soul." Narcisse pretended that he understood whatever angelic jargon she was saying, but he, quite frankly, had no idea. "It seems that I have lost it where I have fallen. Unless you are withholding it from me, which I sincerely doubt. And so, I ask of you to return it to me. The task should not be too hard, you will spot it easily among the swords." The offer sounded fair, all things considered, and he had no reason to doubt her. Still, he wondered... "Will it burn? I mean, my skin started sizzling the moment I touched you, will it be the same?" She shook her head in response and Narcisse held back a sigh of deep relief. "Anima will not hurt those with good intentions" , the angel explained, "so I know I will be able to trust you if your hands are not covered in burns again."
The moment she mentioned his injures, he instinctively took a look at them. The skin had already calmed down a while ago; all that was left was bright red skin where his palms were. The demon remembered that it hadn't been charred, but some spots had felt like they were going to melt. Thankfully, he had managed to find the river just in the nick of time before the burn might have crawled into his flesh - it would not even leave scars the other way.
"Alright" , the man said shortly after he was done examining, and gave her an affirmative nod, "I'll do it." A smile immediately brightened up her entire face the moment he uttered these words and, clapping her hands together, she exclaimed: "Great! I'll stay here and recover, you can leave now!" "Now...? I wanted to stay for a while lo-" "You can leave now." Narcisse gulped when he saw her smile vanishing in a split second. "F-fine. I will see you then." Before the angel could bid him goodbye - which she probably hadn't even planned on doing, as he already saw her leaning back and whistling when he turned around mid-flight - he stormed off into the woods, intent on finding the spear as soon as possible.
