Fantasy The Break of Dawn - The Four Elements Sequel (OPEN TO ALL)

:4/5:Aria:4/5:

The young general nodded in approval: ''ok, go get some rest people. Tomorrow is your big day'' a hint of a smile was showing on her face, though annoyed by their excitement she couldn't help but remember how she herself was two years ago, as excited to fight as they are. Aria got out of the room, still haunted by the image of the kids, and that hideous laughter. Damn it she thought to herself as she walked to where the stage was again.

By this time, the fire wielding professors burnt the bodies of the people who died. The courtyard of her beloved academy was completely stained in blood. Aria stood in front of the stage, the earth bending professor made a giant willow tree grow in it's place, the leaves and branches bowing in a melancholic way as a tribute to the children.

The other students wrote some goodbye letters or drew some pictures that they hanged on the huge trunk of the tree completely covering it. Aria took in her surroundings slowly looking around when a professor pointed at a demon's body and asked the general what they should do with it.

Aria lifted the red haired demon up in mid air and walked back to the meeting room to look for Jake, she made it land on the table in front of him:
''there you go, I hope this helps, I'll help as long as I can''. The general crossed her arms looking at the demon's body.

Lyra saw how excited they were, well at least the water bender was, as she rested her hand on Aria's shoulder. "Sleep well." She knew that it wasn't going to happen, but she gave her a positive smile as she went to go sleep. Tomorrow was a long day, and there was still no sign of her half sister. She did say she was traveling to some village, she thought as she walked.

Clara bows at Aria and the others, "Yes ma'am!" She smiles before leaving, and helped with the clean up of the academy. Her smile faded when she saw the dead children and adults being burned. Why did this have to happen? After she helped the best she could, she went over to her small home and lied in her bed. Tomorrow was a long day for everyone.

@Aine we can do the timeskip now, you can start if you want ))

Tai looked at Jake sparingly, trying his literal best to hide the joy of his admittance to go on the mission.

"No ser," Tai inclined his head briefly. "I am no lightning bender," He said this with a tinge of regret in his voice.

"I am a Fire bender, but truely a martial artist and blacksmith at heart. I came here to learn the way of lightning."

Tai turns before the man can respond, disgusted by the creature just thrown in front of Jake.

"You all have a good night."

Tai returns to his smithy, reflecting on the events of the day. He slowly trudges to the back, where his cot and room are.

Power... He thinks to himself with a balled fist.

"Well i won't learn lightning with those who can't kill me, so i should consider myself lucky to have gotten in with these people."

He removes his clothes for the day, and sets his sword in the corner. As he drifts to sleep, one person remains on his mind's eye, The Red Eyed Flood - Tai would know him as.

"I'll show them all..." He mumbles incoherently as he drifts into darkness.

I'll start the next day then, so let's assume that Aeson came late of Aine isn't here yet ))

Morning came as the sun rose from it'shiding place behind the mountains. The morning bell rang as people got up from there homes, wearily, and started the day like usual. You could tell that the citizens were scared of any other attacks that may come.

Clara woke up with her stomach feeling like a pit. I'm starving...she thought as she got ready. She took a pedant from her drawer, and looked at it. Clara opened it to see it's contents. It was a handwritten letter folded multiple times so it could fit, written by her parents. She closed it as she closed her eyes, and whispered for her parents to wish her luck. Clara dressed appropriately---a green camouflage-like shirt and trousers with a leather belt....well she wasn't into fancy clothing. She grabbed her bag and walked over the meeting room, watching earth benders repair the damage caused by the shadow creatures.

"What?!" Tai awoke completely alert, in darkness of some creatures hold! He squirmed, flailing around, searching for his sword.

"What magic is this?!" He could feel himself on some sort of stone, but Tai still could not place what happened here. A firm wool cloth bound his head, and for a second Tai forgot he was a firebender.

"You'll learn!" With a shriek of intensity flames burst from Tai's bosom, incinerating his captor's hold.

"Hah!" Tai sees no one in front of him, he snaps to his feet, shooting flames behind him with a powerful roundhouse kick.

"Oh.."

"...not again..." With dread, Tai looks to the floor. And he sees his captor lying, in ashes.

With a resounding smack, Tai's hand meets his forehead. He had tangled himself in his wool blanket, and fallen to the floor. Always battle ready, the hot headed youth assumed someone had bound him. Now he needed a new blanket...

"Aw man.." Tai fits his pants on, and straps his sandles, not yet putting on his shirt or blade. Now completely awake, and ready to go, without even his morning tea, he walks out of the sleeping area into the smithing area.

"I should really tidy up in here.." Hammers everywhere, his anvil had fallen over from the events of the previous night, and unmolded iron ore scattered on the floor. He walks toward the bucket of 300 or so finished spear heads.

So much for that..Oh well..

Tai returned to his sleeping quarters, and put on his tunic, strapping on his pelt coat over it. He doesn't brush his hair, but flicks it a bit with his hands. After strapping on his sword, he exits his building with a hand up to shield the sun.

"Well here goes nothing." Tai immediately heads back toward where the meeting was held the night before, unsure of where to meet with his new comrades.

Jake wakes up from a tired sleep, He was on a table "Why am I here?" He looks over to his left "AAAA O MY GOSH!!!!!!" and he fell out of his chair, Then Jake remembered he was working on this demon last night "O right, This is embarrassing" Jake got up from the ground, He looks at the demon "Not so tough now are you". He gets a needle and draws some of the black blood from the creature "This will be useful hopefully." He takes the body and throws out on top of a fire, And he takes the blood back to his house and puts it somewhere safe. He rummages threw some stuff and gets stuff that would be useful for a scouting mission, "Cross bow, gillie armor stun dart and blow dart, The balloon wont be ready sadly , this should be enough stuff for everyone, he puts everything in a box and takes it to were everyone is meeting.

Aria didn't get any sleep last night, she couldn't, she merely lay in bed thinking, thinking , thinking. Was it right to send them? what if they don't make it back? what will they find here?can she wait in the kingdom while they go out there? What was she going to tell the people. Eventually she got out of bed, wore black shirts and pants and went downstairs, she was already living in the academy and went to sit by the willow that everyone was going to meet under the next day, she waited for dawn and for everyone to come

Isaac S. Ostberg

His yellow eyes slowly opened when he felt light enter his room. Isaac groaned, throwing an arm over his eyes to block out the nuisance—He never was a morning person. His one eye kept peeking out from under the arm that slightly moved down, staring at the white ceiling above. The man had to do this for about five minutes, until he finally gained enough energies to roll out of bed. ‘Today is the thing…' His lazy thoughts reminded him of the events that unfolded yesterday and about the duty that he had to do. That was enough to snap him awake. “Morning Venus” Isaac’s voice was always a bit raspy in the mornings which made him sound like a grumpy old man. He waited for an answer, but Venus was always rude like that. The Djinn spoke whenever he pleased...How spoiled.

The first thing that he did was walk towards his bathroom and stare for about a minute at the half naked man that stared back. Sigh… He needed to shave. Overall, he felt unbelievably lazy at the moment, but even so he cleaned his face up. ‘You better hurry’ His yellow eyes traced down to look at his hand that was resting on the sink, more specifically at the ring. “So now you talk?” Isaac raised a brow, taking a step back to check himself on the mirror one last time before walking to his room. There was no response after that so the man just walked to his closet and changed into not pajama pants clothes.

“Hm…” The wind adept never got hungry in the mornings, but he had a feeling that today was going to be a long day so he made a quick cup of coffee and drank that with some sweet bread. Then he went to the bathroom to wash his hands; “You know, I don’t feel like tying up my hair today” He mumbled with a thoughtful façade. “Hm….”

"Hmmmmm..-hmm.."

‘Hurry up Isaac’

Alright, alright, I’m going” He waved his hand and just decided to leave like that, his hair wasn't the important thing right now anyways.

So...He had totally left meeting yesterday without catching the location they were going to meet...But, but, but, but he had been so irritated with all those people! Jeez...Specially water boy and fire girl, those two really put the man in a bad mood. Bah, why was he still thinking about that? Today was a new day, nothing that happened yesterday really mattered except for all those people being murdered, which is why he was here right now, walking to the academy even though he hated waking up early. 'I'll just have to look for them when i get there' He thought, scratching the back of his head.

Clara, with food in her mouth, spotted Aria underneath the willow tree and greeted her. "Morning, ma'am!" She mumbles before swallowing down the food. "I saw one of Miss Lyra's guards. They said she was sick, by the way." She took a bite from her food again and waved at the others that were coming

Irene awaken from her slumber staring at the ceiling. She knew the meeting was going to start soon but she didn't want to get out of bed. She rolled herself off, putting her dagger that she slept with for defense purposes back in her pants. She freshened up, before hitting the streets making her way to academy, stopping at a couple of food places on the way. She wasn't in a rush since she wasn't the one to depart on the mission.

The guards opened the door for her as she entered the room. She scanned the room to see who was present, surprised that she was earlier than she thought.
"Good morning everyone, hope you're ready for your big day today." She said putting both hands on her hips.

Aria stood up on her feet ,took some crackers from Clara and started eating, she waved to Irene who headed for the room, everyone was going to meet up under the willow tree that morning: ''Irene, over here'' she shouted so that the water bender could hear then looked back at Clara: ''hold on....... Lyra's sick?'' the young general started getting worried, she decided to go see her after she saw everyone off, Jake, Clara, Isaac, Irene and Tai were present, she wandered where the earth and water representatives were.

Thea woke up in an inn she bought a room at, and stretched as she got out of the bed. New day, new chances. She walked over to where the group was, and smiled softly at the individuals. "Hello." Thea took her place next to Irene, and crossed her arms like usual. "Who are we waiting on? The Water rep? And the earth rep." Clara glares at Aria as she took her food, and smiles at her. "I'm so ready. Bah, forget the reps we can go on our own!" She says with confidence as she nods to her question. "They don't know how, many some demon thing made her sick? They didn't say."

Tai walks out, and immediately sees the group meeting underneath the willow tree instead.

"I guess that works too." He says to himself with a laugh. Tai looks ahead, and can see Clara stuffing her face with some sort of food, and sharing with someone else. Seeing them eat reminded Tai that he himself hadn't eaten.

On the edge of his vision he spots Isaac, and the weird science guy from before. He waves at those he's familiar with and walks to take his place beneath the willow.

AESON

Aeson, instead of sleeping inside his house, he spent the night outside of town, next to a small river that he has found next to the base of a small mountain, the stony riverside which he used to visit a lot when he was younger. Something about this place seemed to calm him down, ever since he was just a little kid. There, he simply laid, his head resting gently on his wrists as he gazed into the star-filled night sky; the steady flow of water hissed as it passes his feet as he reflected on what happened that night.

By the time he realised, the sun has already risen - curing the sky into a pleasant mixture of red and blue hue. Aeson stood up and brushed his back with the palm of his hand, getting rid of any stray pebble that might have caught onto his clothing while he was laying down, before making his way back towards the city.

Oh, he thought as he walked through the gates, ruffling his hair a little, where are we meeting again?

Clara caught eye of Aeson, and laughed a bit seeing how lost he was. She waved at him, and bows at him. "Morning Aes---, ah, sir." She looked over at Tai, and gave him a knowing look. Hopefully, the two won't fight again. Especially during the scout mission.

Jake saw pretty much everyone here, He waved at everyone and said hello, "Today is the big day well for them at least and his stuff" Jake thought to himself, He was happy he could help but he still had a lot to do, He still has to make that security system, which will take a lot of time but he could handle it, He was thinking of a wall and 4 crossbows at the 4 corners and two main gates, The only problem they faced was there was hardly any guards or worriers left after that massacre. He could always try to make AI but that was impossible in that point in time, "This was going to be a problem" Jake looked around everything was half burnt reduced to ashes or completely demolished. Jake bit at the skin on his lip and pace in circles thinking about what he could do at the moment, He had absolutely no idea.

“Good morning everyone” Turns out finding them didn’t turn out to be a challenge after all. As soon as Isaac walked towards the meeting room, his eyes spotted a bunch of familiar faces gathered up under some tree that surprisingly wasn’t there last night. Though as he walked closer to it, the man immediately knew what the tree was for, noticing the notes and messages that were all hanging from it. What a perfect symbol for the deceased…a willow tree.

'By the rivers of Azthereath we sat down and wept

when we remembered Zion.

There on the willow-trees

we hung up our harps.'

People of the past often drew illustrations of weeping willows, since they were commonly used as ornaments on gravestones and mourning rituals. After all, its long leaves seemed to embrace you when you stood under it, as if the tree took all your worries away…As if the tree promised to love you for all eternity. It had been a truly beautiful gift for the lost souls. Isaac was certain that they would take great care of it.

The professor stopped by them, taking a moment to scan every face and every expression in the group. He noticed his friend Tai wave at him so the man waved back with a smile. It was a pleasure to see him again.
“I hope you slept well, my friend” He told the fire bender as they waited for all the people to arrive. He didn’t know who was coming or not, but he figured that once they were all here, some body was going to start talking. Though another face also showed up in the group…Ah! Water boy! So he was coming too? Well this aughtta be interesting. Isaac held no grudge against him anymore—like he said, yesterday stayed in the yesterday. If he came then that meant water boy cared in SOME way about all of this. It was just…better to start the morning with positive thoughts.

Tai looks toward Isaac, then toward the glint of a ring on his finger. It still wasn't clear to Tai how one could manage to befriend an elemental.

"Hey Isaac!" Tai says with a smile. Looking around the square for anyone that may be tagging along.

"I slept uh..id rather not go on about it. I couldn't stop thinking about our task today, I think I dreamed up an enemy,"

Suddenly, Tai's eyes lowered, and he glared toward Isaac with a grasping look.

"I'm really nervous man...think it's just me?"

Isaac couldn’t help but smile at him, chuckling at the words. Dreamt up an enemy huh? He must have been pretty excited about the mission. “No, it’s not just you, I am too” The man reassured, even if he didn’t quite feel the level of nervousness that Tai did, he did know that putting himself on the same page would make him feel more secure about all of this. But Isaac, even if deep down, he was unsure about this…It was just too similar to the job that he previously failed. The professor just hoped this turned out better than what happened three years ago.

“But I’m sure we’ll be okay. We got strong fighters in our team, including you” He paused, “The important thing is just eating a good breakfast! I brought some snack bars with me if you want one” The man patted his pocket with a wide grin, “It’s never too late for food”

The deep thump of his own heartbeat was all he heard as Min Lao Shi sat meditating, with legs crossed, on the edge of the tallest branch of the willow tree. Min was unsure of how long he had been there. Ones perception of time grew unreliable when the mind attempted to attune with the spirit world. The world was like a vast spectrum of color. Complex on all sides. In the middle of this spectrum lay the spirit world. Min had never seen or touched this world....but he had felt it....he had heard it....

He could, faintly, hear it now.
"The shadow nation rises Lao Shi."

Min Lao Shi softly grunted in acknowledgement. That is all he had heard for the past few days. The Earth was very selective with the information it provided mortals. Humans had proven, time and time again, that they were irrational and destructive. The Earth had been scarred many times from the acts of humanity. On selective occasions, the Earth had made known to Min Lao Shi a fraction of it's pain. Min had sometimes awakened from meditation in tears, with burns, with scars and scratches, or any combination of the three. In fact, he was certain that the child he heard crying the day of the attack was the Earth's way of expressing it's sorrow in what it had witnessed.

"The shadow nation rises Lao Shi." Min continued listening, patiently, for anything else the Earth would wish to say. "Rise......Lao Shi."

Min Lao Shi awoke to a rising sun and faint murmurs beneath him. It was time for the scouting run. Min Lao Shi let himself fall from the tree, for several meters, before landing hard on the ground, in a squat, before the group, dust rising from the impact. Min rose and smiled at the young group warmly. "Shall we depart?" He asked softly.

(Could I get a quick review of what happened since my last post? Sorry; had a huge school project and ended up spending the entire weekend working with my partner.)
