Fantasy The Books of Magic

Seeing the two people Tom teleported instantly. Ending up behind the boy he grabbed the golden book and teleported next to his hut. "Relatively equal, I believe not." He then smiled, he hated ignorance. "Also my name is Tom, my pocket travel guide allows me to travel to places, with practice I don't even need my book." He then tossed the golden book back to the rich one, laughing while doing so.

Iroclis twirled his fingers as the book was tossed back to him. The book instantly stopped midair and slowly levitated towards Iroclis hovering above his hand.

"Oh? You took my book out of my satchel with such stealth. I had that there for a reason you know"

Iroclis flatly stated. The golden book was too bright, simply put. The sunlight beamed down on it and was reflected back tenfold in illustrious golden light that would hurt one's eyes to look at.

Iroclis took his Book of Blades and placed it in his satchel and closed it again, shutting out the ridiculously bright book.

"Interesting magic you have indeed, I assume you transported this group and me here as well then. I would like to make this clear though; do not touch my book, it is a treasure that is not fit to be so roughly handled."

Iroclis would have liked to added "by the likes of you" at the end of his assertion but he reasoned against it, it would not be practical to stir too much bad blood already.

It seemed that most of these people had magical powers that they could develop to their own will, as evidenced by this man saying that he can transport himself to other locations without the book with practice. Iroclis's book, though, was completely static. It recorded things he saw, but everything he saw wasn't magical, well, except for one weapon. It was so interesting though, watching this display of magic. And all diverse magic too. One thing for sure that Iroclis could tell was that almost none of these people were physically ready for non - magical, up close fighting, although Iroclis doubted anything like that would be important. There was no need to fight, Iroclis was simply being cautious.

Extremely annoyed by the rich boy, Tom teleported away. He then teleported to the cliff. "I could simply kill you right now, but instead I will leave you, have fun finding your way home." He then turned to the girl with runes. "When you want to leave, just send me a mind message or something. But that spoiled brat can stay here and starve." He then teleported away to his room and sat down in his chair trying to calm hiss anger.

Natsu was glad everyone was introducing themselves, they were getting somewhere. Then he laid eyes on Iroclis and was ready to rip him in two. Natsu's dragon eyes weren't really affected by the books golden light and clearly knew that if anyone here could kill the arrogant jerk, he could. So he landed about 3 yards infront of the jerk and said "Since no one is going to say it right now. Lose the arrogance or die. I'm not a hostile person but i guess i can play by a different rules when it comes to the paranormal." Natsu assumed his full humanoid dragon form. He took his battle stance.

Oda winced at shine of gold by the rather rude and condescending man's Book. He turned his attention to Hana, choosing not to heed him. That Iroclis was just like the people who always bullied him, arrogant and distasteful. "My... My Book of Friends lets me, uh, make contracts with anything. I can manipulate whatever I have a contract with however I really want, I guess... I don't really understand it myself..." Oda did understand, but like heck he was going to tell this riff raff that.

The sudden teleportation disoriented Rowan briefly. Once her bearings were gained, her eyes shot over to the culprit of such an event. "Excuse me," she said to Tom as she held back her anger. "You should wait for everyone to agree to teleporting them before actually doing it. Never do that to me again without asking for my consen-"
Her words were cut off by a spectacular display of fireworks. The initial crack caused the redhead to jolt rigidly and gasp before looking over at Hana. She finally straightened as the noise was deemed a harmless display of Hana's abilities. Laughter escaped her airily.

"What is your book about?" She asked the girl curiously, her anger now fully dissipated.
Hana decided to ignore the arrogant heterochromatic (eyes different colors) nutcase with the gold Book, and asked Rowan: "What does your Book do?"

Alex stood by the girl who asked the boy, who whispered, what his book could do, because she was fascinated as well. Her cat ears and tail had vanished after the golden light display as she wasn't really using much magical power to sustain the form.

Rowan slipped off her heels and clasped them between her fingers lightly and smiled at the suggestion for introductions. The soft sandy ground felt nice under her feet, and she slowly walked to an open position within the circle. It was truly a magnificent display, and everyone present had far better presentations than she could ever give. Her book carried nothing impressive. None the less, she opened her mouth to speak, only to be interrupted by the pompous newcomer.

Men like him were typical for Rowan to deal with, but it was always an exhausting ordeal. Luckily, Tom stepped in to take care of the problem, followed by Natsu. "Thank goodness," Rowan muttered under her breath before Hana posed her question. Relief broke her expression into a smile as she relaxed. The distraction was assuredly appreciated. "Oh, my book? It's called the Book of Aegis. It's not anything like what you guys can do."

With a shrug, Rowan opened her book to find a particular spell. She then placed her hand over the letters of the spell and slowly brought her hand back and upward, the words following her hand in glowing purple light as if copied from the book. The letters swirled and began to form a transparent shield before her. The shield dissipated after a moment only after she lowered her hand, and the faint purple glow faded.

"There's not a lot of visually apparent spells," Rowan explained. "It's protection. All the spells in some form or fashion are meant to protect."

Hana considered that. There were a lot of uses she could think of for protection. "That seems highly useful," she said.

Rowan offered a casual shrug in response. "I suppose so," she said. "There are a lot of different types for all sorts of situations. I just need to learn them all."

"Don't we all?" Hana said. Because, due to the nature of the books, that is just what they had to do. "How did you come by your Book?" she asked Rowan.

She released an airy chuckle and nodded in agreement. "I suppose so," she said. "Ah, I came into possession of my book when I moved into my flat. It was just kind of there. Is that common? I mean, I'm guessing you guys didn't seek yours out, right?"

"Not exactly. I mean, I was seeking out a book, but not this Book."

Hana held up her Book, so Rowan could see what it looked like. "I was looking for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in a bookstore, and the book I bought turned out to be this one."

Rowan's brow furrowed as she leaned forward to study the cover. Hana's book looked exactly like the best seller from the outside. "That's your book?" she asked. "Huh. Well, I guess that helps avoid suspicion?"

"It does. I like the Harry Potter series, and so no one would really be suspicious of me with a book from the series. By the way, what does your book look like?"

Rowan closed her book and presented the cover to Hana. It was quite plain in appearance, carrying the look of a simple old hard bound novel with an embossed cloth cover. The embossing was silver and faded and carried no text, only a floral motif around the corners.

Hana studied it. "Wow, it's pretty. I suppose you noticed it right away?"

"Well, yeah," she said as she brought it into her arm and shrugged. "I don't have a lot of old stuff. It looked like an antique or something. The former tenant had never seen the book before. Do these books just appear or something? I just don't get it."

"Neither do I. I mean, I just bought it, but the store must have gotten it into their stock somehow. Let's ask everyone else how they got their books, and see how their stories correlate with this."

Zenocles wandered the mysterious isle he'd been transported to, wondering how in the world he'd gotten here. He'd been in the middle of practicing one of his combat maneuvers when he'd appeared here, katana, combat vest, and all. Wherever he was, he didn't feel safe not knowing how he'd gotten there or what to expect. He put his hand in the knapsack he always carried with him and felt his book, safely tucked away beneath other items. Just the knowledge of its continued presence offered him a modicum of relief and security, despite the fact that Zenocles loathed actually having to utilize its abilities. As he wandered, he encountered a well-dressed man looking somewhat disoriented and lost. The man did not look to be an enemy, and even if he was, perhaps Zenocles would be able to placate him before conflict ensued. "Are you all right there, mate?" he asked in an amicable manner. Still, his hand did shift ever so slightly, just enough to be in a position to swiftly unsheathe his katana in the event that guarding was necessary. At that moment, he noticed the dragonoid who seemed to be ready to do battle with the seemingly unarmed man. "Oi! There's no need to fight! Don't make me use force, it won't be quite fair, I assure you!" Zenocles yelled, hoping he wouldn't have to pull out his book.

Ryley arrived on the island and looked around. she began wandering with her book in the inside jacket pocket. she eventually runs into a group of people though she kept her distance just checking them out.

she comes over curious "input on what?" she was curious on what they needed. espically if they needed a person's input that just arrived to the area.

"Well, if you're here, then you have a magic Book. Everyone here does, and we're talking about the different types of Books."

raises an eyebrow. so she wasn't the only one eh? she brings out her own, the book of the Abyss, a black leather bound journal, "well mine let's me create and control darkness. it's name is Book of the Abyss."
