Fantasy The Books of Magic

"How about we go to somewhere where we can show off our magic" Natsu said quitely so that the normal people couldn't hear.

Tom leaned in. "I remeber when I went to school," he then leaned back in his seat. "I can teleport you anywhere, how about a small but large island in the middle of the pacific?" He then watched as an other map came out to a girl eating a muffin. There was apperantly a lot of them. Consentrating he teleported everybody with a map to one of his place, a small island with a small hut and a forest. "Here we all, now everybody with a book is here, they can either like it or not, but they are here." He then smiled as he passed out out of exhaustion, he had never done this before with so many people.

Hana blinked in surprise. She didn't know he was able to teleport other people (although really, it shouldn't have surprised her much), and this was a nice island. She decided to take the somewhat reckless step of showing her powers, and inscribed into the air a Fireworks incantation, for the fun of it.

She had made the spell so that the firework was bright enough to be seen in the day.

The sudden teleportation disoriented Rowan briefly. Once her bearings were gained, her eyes shot over to the culprit of such an event. "Excuse me," she said to Tom as she held back her anger. "You should wait for everyone to agree to teleporting them before actually doing it. Never do that to me again without asking for my consen-"

Her words were cut off by a spectacular display of fireworks. The initial crack caused the redhead to jolt rigidly and gasp before looking over at Hana. She finally straightened as the noise was deemed a harmless display of Hana's abilities. Laughter escaped her airily.

"What is your book about?" She asked the girl curiously, her anger now fully dissipated.

Natsu wasn't all that surprised to be teleported. He thought it was funny how mad the model got though. The he was the fireworks display and decided he should show ot what he can do. He tore off the tight shirt and summoned his dragon wings. He dragonized his arms and legs and flew up a little above the ground. He summoned his Baby Sprite Dragon and let out a fire dragon breath. The Sprite Dragon let out a blue lightning breath.

"It's The Book of Runes. It allows me to use written incantations for things. Like this:"

Hana used the same wizard robe spell that she had used earlier in the woods on herself.

Alex had been about to take a bite of her muffin and slowly slip away from this group when suddenly she found she was no longer in the cafe. Her eyes widened in shock as she first realized that she was now apparently on a beach or on a deserted island. Her face contorted with anger and frustration and as she turned to seek out just who to direct it to, she noticed the explosive display of fireworks.

She was further astonished when someone else all but turned into a dragon, soared through the air spouting fire, and then summoned a baby dragon who expelled lightning. Then her attention fell upon someone who had apparently passed out, and she went over and knelt beside him, forcibly shaking him from side to side. "Hey! Wake up..." she shook him about a dozen times, before giving him a light kick.

She wasn't exactly happy about the fact that she had been suddenly brought to god-know-where without an opportunity to object, but she did find it kind of cool that these people seemed to be like her. She took a small bite from her muffin, still standing over the passed out individual and looked over to the crowd of people. "So, by any chance, can someone explain why and how we all got here?" She knew it had been by magic that they were brought to where they were but she wanted to know why and also why there were so many of them all in one place.

Hana heard the girl's question and responded: "That's the power of Tom's Book. Teleporting. Wait... Tom..."

Hana finally noticed that the guy who brought them there was out cold. She checked to see if he was OK, and he seemed to be. The only problem was that he was unconscious from the magical backlash, but she knew from her own experience with overreaching herself that it was very temporary, and had no ill effects afterward.

Oda, over his shock, hurriedly stumbled away from the cafe. He turned the corner, only to find himself at a... a beach!? His eyes widened in shock, and he fell over backwards in shock. Was this more magic? He heard the spray of fireworks and whipped around, grasping at the sand on the floor. He clutched his book to his chest as a dragon flew through the air, with a small baby dragon spewing lightning beside it. It seemed unreal, despite his knowledge that magic existed. There was even a group of people over there... Should he approach them?

He really didn't know if they were good people though. Maybe he should just hide... But then he wouldn't be able to get back home. Steeling his nerves, Oda hesitantly approached the strange motley crew, adjusting his bag strap. "U-um... Excuse me... Who are you people?" He prepared his Book, in case they were hostile entities... You could never trust one's appearance. Never.

Tom woke up and groaned ass the rolled over. "I would show off, but I kinda just teleported you all here." His head then fell down as he passed out again on the beach.

Alex was impressed by the level of magic it took to transport all of them there, and she looked at the girl who answered her. "So I take it that everyone here has a book?" There was a sense of excitement in her question. She hadn't imagined there were so many and wondered what they all could do

"I'm getting real tired of all the dumb questions. We all possess the same kind of books. We don't know each other. We have all met by pure chance. Now we can get in a circle and introduce ourselves as well as explain each of our books. We've been spending far too much time on stupid questions." Natsu yelled. Natsu took his place starting the cirlce.

Alex joined the circle, curious to find out what everyone here was capable of. She had hoped that there were others and now she'd be able to firsthand what they were all like

"Most of us appear to be in the circle, so let's talk. What is your book, and what powers does it grant? I'll go first: I have The Book of Runes, and it allows me to inscribe runic spells for whatever I want, like the firework recently and the robe I'm wearing."

Hana indicated her red-and-gold wizard robe.

"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, PITIFUL PIG, HOW DARE YOU LAY YOUR HANDS UPON ME!"

Shouted Iroclis with a booming voice as he beheld the thug beneath his foot, bruised and bleeding. The audacious thug had attempted to assault him with in this hidden alleyway, but too bad. Iroclis didn't even need his Book of Blades to deal with this fool, he had swatted away the pistol with practiced speed as soon as he saw the thug pull it out and then proceeded to incapacitate the thug with a quick and precise beatdown, aiming incredibly powerful and swift chops and punches on all the man's vital spots, truly Iroclis was the pinnacle of mental and physical power.

"Goodbye trash, may this be a lesson to you that none shall dare to harm me"

Iroclis had attracted a decent crowd of awed people, and he simply walked past them with an arrogant and satisfied smile to the Lighthouse cafe.

Opening the door to the cafe, Iroclis briskly walked past the counter upstairs where he would perhaps enjoy a drink of coffee.

He was in a rather secluded place in the cafe and thus he felt confident enough to summon his book, the magnificent Book of Blades.

Iroclis reached into his satchel and brought it out and laid it out on the table. It was an absolutely stunning book, reflecting the light of the floor into countless rays of brilliant golden light as they shone on the resplendent golden surface of the book. By waving his hand, Iroclis flipped the book open and rummaged through the hundred plus pages until he reached the very last one. Every single other page in the book was layered with thin gold, but this page shone with a bright crimson red.

Here was the page that contained Iroclis's pride in life, the legendary spear Gae Bolg.

Iroclis admired the beauty of the spear, the craftsmanship of the seven spearheads and the sleek red body of the staff. It was an absolutely perfect weapon, almost out of this world, and perhaps it was, considering its magical powers.

Iroclis had never taken this weapon out into the real world as he was afraid to stain its beauty as a pure member of his vast collection of weapons, and wondered if he would ever need to use it. Probably not, no opponent in this world would surely pose a challenge great enough for Iroclis to get desperate enough to wield his greatest treasure.

Throughout all of this though, Iroclis did feel uncomfortable, as if something foreign had been present within the floor. Iroclis shrugged it off, such feelings of discomfort were not fitting for such a stately being as himself.

"Ok i'll go next, my name is Natsu Hyoudou. I have the book of dragons, It grants me the power of dragons, Basically anything to do with dragons. I've only mastered one, two, three, four, spells from my book." Nastu exclaimed. The Sprite Dragon gave a chirp like sound of acknowledgement.

Alex cleared her throat. "My name is Alex Sinclair, you can call me Alex or Sin. My book is the Book of Markings," she pulled up her hoodie and revealed her tattoos, "My book collects markings, tattoos, insignias, anything that is symbolic. It has the ability to either grant me the power of the marking or manifest it into the living world for a short time. I haven't really gotten a lot of it read because there seem to be a lot of rules to the various kinds of markings it collects." She opened her book to a page of one of the tattoos on her body and her tattoos all lit up a brilliant red color for a moment, "I've so far come to understand that the tattoos I already have all over my body act as a shield that can be strengthened and also as a limiter...I know that any marking of Death is the most powerful I can conjure and the most dangerous for me to use...and I can do a few other things." She flipped to a page of a panther and after placing her hand on it a black swirl of lines erupted from the book. A few moments later she was standing there with cat ears and a panther's tail. "I can't really summon the beings themselves yet, but I can absorb some of their attributes." She smiled nervously as her tail whipped back and forth and her ears flickered about.

So then Iroclis closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and exhaled. It felt as if all the world had fallen away and all that was left was himself. At least, thats what he was supposed to feel. Instead, he felt a very odd sense of nausea. In alarm, Iroclis opened his eyes, which promptly widened as he viewed himself on a sun baked island, the waters of the pacific curling gently at the foot of the island.

Iroclis was in utter shock, was this reality?

And indeed it was, the sand that parted before his feet and the warm rays of the sun that beamed down on Iroclis was very, very real.

It was also getting quite uncomfortable as the bright rays of the sun reflected upon the pure gold of the Book of Blades, causing it so shine so impossibly bright as to blind Iroclis.

Iroclis also heard voice behind him, although they were somewhat faint. Whatever had transported Iroclis must have been a bit farther away from Iroclis so therefore he himself was transported just a small distance away from where the main group was.

With curiosity, Iroclis sauntered to where this group was, and observed in stealthed silence as he saw the various magical abilities that they exhibited.

Iroclis was unsure of revealing himself, as they might be hostile, and pondered this for quite a while. In the end, he decided that revealing himself was for the better as these people had summoned him for a reason. And besides, Iroclis had nowhere to go on this deserted island anyway.

Straightening himself out, Iroclis walked towards the group just as a woman showed her magical abilities by gaining the attributes of what appeared to be a large black feline. With his air of confidence, he stated

"Greetings, all of that was quite the display of magical power. I had long suspected that I was not alone in wielding magic in the form of books, and it is quite interesting to see all of you exhibiting magical capacities. As fellow magic users, I shall place all of you at a level relatively equal to mine."

And with that Iroclis simply sat down in an empty spot within the circle with an aura of arrogant liveliness, his Book of Blades hidden in his satchel so as not to blind anyone with the light.

Oda cringed when the teen who transformed into a dragon shouted loudly and rudely. He paused for a moment, and approached the circle when the girl introduced herself, but didn't join it. He chose to stray a bit away, watching as the dragon boy, Natsu, proclaimed his name. More people began introducing himself, and he gradually came slightly closer with each introduction. You can do this, Oda. Stop being a chicken and man up. Hurry up and introduce yourself! Oda took a deep breath, steeling himself and said "U-um, I'm Oda, Oda Obata..." Dang it, he stuttered, his face flushed red as Oda ducked his head, his voice becoming a whisper. "I have the, Book of Friends." That should be fine. When could he go back home?

Hana stared at him. He seemed way too confident. Relatively equal? Wow, he was just begging for a lesson in humility.

Alex rolled her eyes as the newcomer showed up spouting nonsense about being relatively equal. She forgot that there were probably people in this group that let this whole ordeal go to their heads, and this guy was clearly one of them. She wanted to say something but decided to leave it be, but wondered if all the others would also standby so silently.

Hana barely heard the other boy's whisper. "What does this book do?" she asked.
