Fantasy The Beginning Of The End(Open)

Chel turned to look where the sound came from and pulled her knife from her backpack quickly. She crouched down and focused, eliminating the things that could've made the noise, to be sure. She gritted her teeth and gripped her knife so hard her skin turned white, like the snow.

Lilly gave the military signal to fall back, shoving unfinished food in to backpack. The other two didn't understand, so she mouthed 'Get against the wall' they listened and she peered around the corner. Standing there were two zombies. She smiled, picking up her bat. She looked over her shoulders and told the other two to stay, reading her weapon. She stepped around the corner deliverin a hard kick to the chest of the zombie closest to her, knocking it down. She swung at the second on, smattering it's head on impact, and the stomped on the first zombies head. A pile of blood, flesh and squashed brain remained where a head once was.

Chel held her breath as Lilly beat them and stayed hidden. She shoved her drink in her backpack and the unfinished Twinkie in her mouth. Her grip on her knife loosened and she put on a winter hat to keep her warm, her ears red from the cold.

After being able to confirm that both infected were dead, he turned the corner and looked at the two rotting corpses that lay on the ground just beneath Lilly.

Lilly didn't noticed the two at first, but when she did she apologized "Sorry about that," she chuckled nervously "There's an old safe house around here some where where we could rest up a bit, and maybe get you two some new clothes," she said excitedly.

He nodded and hesitantly edged towards Lilly, overthinking every little sound and movement. Once he was next to her, he looked back at Chel, waiting for her to catch up as well.

Chel zipped her pack closed and put it on hastily. Eager, she caught up to them. She stuffed her hands in her pockets, grinning. "What type of a building is it? A house? A storage?" Even though looking positive, Chel was serious. She wanted to know how big it was and how easily she could escape if needed.

"Not sure," She smiled down a Kaden, and Chel followed after them as Lilly lead the way to the safe house. Turns it's a two story house just a few blocks away. "I'll make sure the locals are friendly," She stated winking at the two. She walks inside and to her surprise, no one's there. She check upstairs and down sta it's before calling for the two to come inside. "Go ahead and find some new clothes, I'll see if there's a genorator anywhere and maybe a wa to get water flowing so we can take a shower," she smiled before going out the bakers door and entering the crawl space.

Kaden looked towards Chel, then shrugged. He stepped inside and looked around a bit, feeling uneasy about being in so much new territory. He rummaged through some things, looking for something fresh to wear.

Chel entered the house warily and up the stairs. She opened a door and inside was a teenagers room. That'll do! Quickly, she opened a few drawers and found some black clothing, along with band t-shirts and some skinny jeans. Stuffed in the way back was a fleece black jacket, which she took happily. She found a beanie in a closer along with other winter hats. "HAT STASH!" She yelled down to Kaden and looked through them.

Lilly laughed as she heard how excited Chel was about hats, and that she had found a water pump. She flicked it on, and continued to search for the evasive power source, once it was found she refilled it flipped it on, and went back I to the house. After testing to see if it worked, she called "Who wants to shower first?"

He stopped what he was doing and ran to where Chel was, smiling at her and looking down at the hats. He stood next to her and sorter through all the clothes. "You can go first." He said quietly.

Chel smiled back. "Thanks!" She picked out some beanies and others. She even found a scarf. After she finished she plopped onto the bed, which was saggy and old. The springs squeaked as She sat down.

((Sorry guys, but it's pretty late where I am but I'll be back tomorrow))

She found a room and laid down, almost instantly passing out. She had gone three days with out sleep, and was beyond tired. She fell alseep dreaming of the good old days.

((okay)) Kaden shuffled over a bit and looked down at what was left of the hats. He picked out a few and stuffed them into his backpack, then leaned against the dresser.

Chel yawned. "Man, I'm tired." She blinked her eyes a couple of times to get her vision back. She held her backpack close to her and studied Kaden.

Kaden glanced up at her for a short moment as she spoke, then returned his gaze to his boots. He should really get new ones, but he doesn't mind. He pulled a beanie out from his backpack and ran his fingers through his blond hair before putting the beanie on.

Chel smiled and got up from the bed. Still holding her backpack, she examined the room more closely. In the far right, a closet door was closed and that brought out the curiousity demon in her. She walked towards it slowly, and she glanced at Kaden when she got there. "Should I open it?" She asked as her hand rested on the brass doorknob.

He pushed himself up from his leaning position on the dresser and walked towards her. He examined the door for a moment and listened in closely. He decided to knock on the door to see if any infected were inside. After a short moment of no response, looked towards Chel and shrugged, then nodded.

"Lets hope we don't die!" Chel said as she twisted the door knob. When it didn't move, she twisted it harder and it fell off. The brass clanged against the wood flooring. Overdramatic, collapsed on her knees with her hands in the air, one of them holding the knob. "NOOOOOOOOO!" She whisper screamed and pretended to sob.

Kaden smiled, looking down at Chel. He crouched down next to her and softly spoke. "Better luck next time?" He tilted his head.

Chel broke character and laughed. She covered her mouth, noticing she laughed loudly. She sat on the ground and played with her backpack. One of the straps was loose and it kept sagging. "Did you see any backpacks, Kaden?"

He nodded and walked out of the room, returning shortly with a black and only slightly dirty backpack in his hands. He handed it to her and then sat on the bed.

"Oo! Thanks" She responded. She took it and set it next to her other one. Slowly, she began inspecting the new bag and found nothing inside. She started to put things in her new bag, using a checklist in her mind. Once she reached her guns, she tried to hide them from Kaden's view.

Kaden, completely oblivious to what was even happening around him, fell backwards on the bed and let out a short breath. He stared at the ceiling and began fumbling with a dumb little puzzle piece necklace around his neck.
